King Mo to Bellator AND TNA

---------- Forwarded message ----------
because this kind of arrangement worked out SO WELL for Bobby Lashley...
your thoughts?

Long as he can avoid TNA's stringent drug policy, Mo should be fine.

  1. I thought Mabel was King. Mo was just a Sir.

I thought it was King Mabel, when did Mo with KotR?

But in all seriousness, who is King Mo?

  3. Muhammed Lawal.  Former Strikeforce LHW champion.  All-American wrestler in college.  Popped for steroids and then fired for calling a reporter a "bitch".

He's going to look small compared to a lot of guys, as it sounds like the plan is for him to fight MMA while working TNA.  He fights at 205, and unlike Shamrock who was just working for WWE so able to bulk up, he will have to stay relatively close to that weight. Even bulked up out of camp he might go up to 230 or so tops most likely.  Any more and he'll look soft and out of shape (even if he's still really in awesome physical condition).

  4. Eh, in TNA I don't think the size thing will be that big of a problem. They don't have the giants WWE traditionally does, plus pro wrestling weights and heights are bullshit anyways. For instance, Jeff Hardy is billed at 6'1, 215.

  5. Hell, look at Lesnar during his first WWE run. He was billed at just shy of 295. Then we got to UFC, was BIGGER, and weighed in at 265 for the heavyweight division.

Daniel Bryan is probably the most glaring right now. He's legitimately around 5'7", billed at 5'10", and legit weighs around 175ish, but is billed at 205. I never got working the heights and weights of pro-wrestlers, but whatever. In reality, Mohammed Lawal is 6'0", 205. In pro-wrestling, he's 6'3", 240. Yeah, he'll be fine.

  6. Anyway, for those wondering who "King Mo" is, he's Vince McMahon's dream (well, except for the drugs). A legitimate amateur wrestler, mixed martial artist, and overall bad-ass who is one of the most charismatic men in MMA. Probably the only person better at selling a fight is Chael Sonnen, mostly because Sonnen is bat-shit insane.

Great signing by TNA... now I'm immediately wondering how they'll fuck it up.

  10. Finally a guy with a pre-nup! And it's a good one. This should be interesting.
    Stupid Kobe Bryant.

  11. I can't speak on his height but the Bryan weight thing is a myth.  Colt Cabana brought it up on his podcast once.  ROH would actually underbill Bryan's weight at being 175-185ish to help play into his underdog role.  According to Colt, Bryan is legitimately around 190-195.

  12. I think Kobe's fuckup was banging that chick in Colorado, not not having a pre-nup.

  13.  Where's your evidence that Bryan is as small as you say? I have a friend who's 165 and doesn't look a damn sight near being only 10 lbs. lighter than Bryan. I wouldn't doubt that Bryan is legit 205-210 like they say. As for height, that's just silly. I've never seen him in person but I have stood next to Samoa Joe, and I've seen Bryan stand toe to toe with Joe, and me & Joe are roughly the same height, so at 5'7 Bryan would come up under Joe's chin, and he doesn't.

You're probably one of those people who thinks Shawn Michaels was less than 200 lbs. his whole career while Randy Savage was a legit 250, despite them having similar builds.

  14.  HOnest question as I've never heard of him: If he's so awesome and willing to do pro wrestling...why didn't Vince sign him first?

  15. When I met Bryan after an RoH show he was a fraction of an inch shorter than me, so I'd put him somewhere between 5'8'' and 5'9''.

  16.  One of the Cryme Time guys talked him into doing MMA first.

  17. Lesnar weighed in at 265 because that's the heavyweight limit. On Fight night, Brock would balloon back up to 300.

    It's called cutting weight, son.

lol @ at anybody believing King Mo is 6'3 and weighs 240 lbs.

  18.  Are You Mike Kogan? Just wondering.

  19.  A fair assessment. I'd like to also bring to the attention of the court Matt Morgan, who TNA bills at 7 feet tall despite clearly being about 5 or 6 inches shy of that. My benchmark is that in high school my head was to the height of Amare Stoudamire's shoulder and yet, years later at roughly the same height, I'm above Matt Morgan's chin. I call bullshit.

  20.  I'd say Bryan is a legit 200-210. I have a pretty similar build to him and I'm about 5'9, 190-195. I met him at NWA Legends Fest a couple of years ago and he's a tad taller than me and thicker.
