  3. Is it just me or is this match... lacking?  It's certainly not bad but just not quite the 5 star affair I'm sure everyone was hoping it'd be.

  4. Seeing Punk hit a split legged moonsault is so weird.

  5. Good, but I think (captain obvious here) that Punk had much better chemistry with Joe.

  6. You gotta think this is before AmDrags rise to the main event. Not saying he was a slouch before then, but once he became ROH champ and turned heel, he really took his overall game a notch. And Punk actually toned down his style since then to make the moves he do hit have that much more effect.

IM not expecting ****** (yes 6) but Im going ***3/4 at least. If they get the time to tell the story.

  7. But nevermind Punk/Bryan... nevermind Cena's impending divorce... nevermind Caliber's prowess at sucking the figurative ____ of cracked.com We have more pressing issues at hand.

WHY THE HELL NOT IS THERE NO SMACKDOWN LIVE THREAD?!

I move that I nominate me, The Fuj, to start a Live Smackdown thread.

    PEOPLE POWER!

  8. Ryan,

Could you please start a live viewing thread for the ROH iPPV tomorrow night? I might be the only other person watching it, but I'd like a place to discuss what's happening as it's going on.

  9. Definately not just you. I thought the early stalling was building to a hot finish and it just didn't. Decent match, just disappointing.

  10. Thank you! I'm looking forward to talking about it with you and anyone else who's up to it.

  11. Honestly I don't really dig Punk's early matches, they're way too indy (though I guess it's more that the indy style kinda developed around Punk) and Bryan didn't become the BEST IN THE WORLD until around 2006 or so, he's just so...generic here.

  12. A "YES/NO" chant?

    How eerily prescient.

  13. The most over guy in the match was the referee, Kenny Rogers.

  14. I know people have used it before Punk, but it was Bryan who made it into a gimmick.  He's got a real talent for getting small things over...himself for instance, BAM!

  15. Yeah its weird. Punk learned to be a great worker in ROH but his moveset didn't really come together until  he was in WWE developmental. I wasn't watching anything around that time but when I saw him on WWECW, he seemed like a completely different wrestler than the one I remembered from the Raven feud and TNA.

  16. I mean, some of the shit he was doing back in TNA/RoH was just weird for the sake of being weird (the Jackie Chan flip thing, the Pepsi Twist) and while I like that people are coming up with new moves, I think you still need somewhat of a basis in classic pro wrestling moves.  Plus the Shining Wizard is the First Overdone Indy Move (second probably being the Cutter).
