I Dream of Wrestling

I'm going to admit something that I'm not proud of, but at least your readers can have fun ridiculing me.

Do you ever dream about wrestling angles?

Occasionally I will.  The other night I dreamed I was watching TNA and the Aces and Eights unmasked and it was Jeff Jarrett and Eric Young.  I was SO pissed off.  Now if I'm getting this and don't even write reviews, what must the great Scott Keith be having during the midnight hour?  I'm not alone in this right?

RIGHT?

I checked a dream manual, and it means you might be gay.  Sorry to have to be the one to tell you.

  1. Can't say I ever dreamed about how a wrestling angle would unfold........but I did have a weird wrestling dream in what must have been '95, maybe just before or around the time Nitro was going on.  I was watching WCW Saturday Night....and Dusty Rhodes was on commentary.  And at some point he said something to the effect of "My sthon usthed to wrassle here, but asth many of you know he'sth The Goldustht now" (I typed verbatim how I remembered it, nad yes he said "the" Goldust).
While still in this dream state,  I was floored because at this point in time, you never heard either promotion talk freely about the wrestlers from other companies.  This of course would change a bit when the Monday Night Wars started.

  2. I've dreamed that I've won the World Heavyweight Champion once.  I think that might mean that I'm gay too.

Maybe me and the mail guy should get together and talk this over...

  3. I once dreamed that I was booked to wrestle Abdullah the Butcher by Jim Cornette. Seriously.

  4. First time I ever heard WCW namedrop the WWF was in late-1987, when JJ Dillon mentioned during a World Championship Wrestling interview that Starrcade 87 was "the real survivor series".

I dreamt about wrestling and I was teamed up with Billy, Chuck and Rico, so basically covered all the bases with my dream.

  6. I once dreamed that I had to fill in as Rey Mysterio (the real one was sick or something) for an in-ring segment where Teddy Long or whoever was announcing who the number one contender was (it was me!/him!) and I was really nervous that someone would hand me the mic and I'd have to do a vocal impression of Rey, but they didn't and I just played to the crowd by waving my arms and stuff. Pulled it off.  Pretty smooth.

  7. If the dream was in the context that wrestling was real, did you urine in the bed just with the thought of having to fight Abdullah?

  8. No lie, about 10 years ago (Attitude Era) or so I had a dream where I somehow ended up as a wrestler and then on the WWE writing team.  After a couple months of some successful stuff, Vince and family were out and he turns to me says, "I've got some good news Justice...I'm your real dad!!"  Then we hug and everyone cheers and then I wake up. Not gonna lie, I love my actual father like nobody's business but that dream pumped me up like nobody's business.  =)

  9. I had a weird dream last week that I was watching Raw 1000 with Spehanie and HHH on my couch. What does that mean?

  10. Even in the worked sense you're still going out there knowing that you'll probably get stabbed in the head with a fork.

  11. I vaguely remember a dream of my music hitting and going out to a live Raw audience to a huge pop. At that point I knew why wrestlers never want to retire. It was a pretty cool feeling.

But what was a worse than dreaming about wrestling angles was thinking of them all day long in school while awake. And than I met former Young Stallion and future jobber Jim Powers in a grocery store. This was around 89 or 90. I was about 9 or 10. I had seen him in our local store a few times but this was the first time I got the courage to go up and ask for an autograph.

He seemed pretty happy that someone recognized him. Also I want to add that he was one of the biggest dudes I had ever seen in person. Not height wise, he was pretty short. But width wise he was huge.

So being this big time wrestler I assumed he would understand my infatuation with wrestling. So I had no fear of telling him how I thought about wrestling all the time and I even had my pens and pencils have wrestling matches against each other in school.

Instead he stares at me for a few seconds like I'm nuts and says in a completely serious tone of voice, " You should pay attention in school."

When Jim Powers thinks your crazy than you know you got a problem.

  12. A couple of months before Marc Mero jumped from WCW, I had a dream that I was watching Superstars and Johnny B. Badd made his WWF debut. Kinda weird that he actually did show up in the WWF not long after, sans gimmick.

  13. I dreamed Layla put her legs around my neck like she was going to give me a hurricanrana but because she was naked the dream went in another direction very quickly. : )

  14. I have definitely never dreamed of wrestling.

Daydreaming on the other hand, I used to do quite a bit of..  In grade 8 at least half of my English writing assignments were wrestling related - I even wrote a haiku which has long since been lost to the ages.

Only wrestling related dream I have ever had was spotting Chavo Guerrero Jnr sitting in the far side of busy nightclub glaring at me. After a short while I went up to him and slapped the shit out of his face. He yelled at me to stop it, apologised and marched off pouting. What's weird is that I've never disliked Chavo Guerrero for any reason and going nuts on someone for glaring at me isn't something I'd ever do in real life!

  16. Every night, I dream of giving AJ the Tombstone Piledriver. In bed. Naked. And I don't actually piledrive her, but I do give her the Jackhammer if you smell what the Rock is cookin.

  18.  Pretty sure every wrestling fan dreams of winning a title at some points. Now, if you didn't have the Fink or Gary Michael Capetta announcing (your name here) as the "winner, and NEWWWW champion"... then we might need to talk.

  19. Apart from maybe a sex dream about Lita or Trish (or once as a young ECW mark, Francine, for some reason), I can only really distinctly remember one wrestling dream. I think I mentioned this on here before: when I was 7 I had a really bad lymphatic infection and I nearly died. I had a fever that ended up climbing up to about 102-103 range, and I was so dehydrated when I went to the hospital later that day that they couldn't even get the IV in after like 5 tries. Anyhow, that night before when I was first coming down with it really bad, I had a weird half-waking lucid dream where Dustin Rhodes and Johnny B. Badd came into my room and told me that I was going to die, my parents couldn't help me anymore, and I needed to come with them. Apparently, early 90s WCW midcard babyfaces are the minions of Satan. Who knew?

  20. Funn you should mention this. Last night I dreamed of a storyline where Undertaker sending out zombies (not the George Romero type zombies but the nightmare fuel-type euro-horror zombies) backstage to scout for possible opponents at WM. And they were stalking Beth Phoenix and Zach Ryder as possible opponents....
