Random Match of the Day: Michinoku Pro 10-Man

Like that 6-man match at Barely Legal?  Here’s a 10-man from Michinoku Pro with the entire Kaientai team taking on the babyfaces and ripping it up for the fastest 35 minutes you’ll ever see.  Another one of my all-time favorite matches and an easy *****.  MPro tapes used to be the best part of my week in the 90s.

    Any reason the other members of Kaientai never came stateside? I always enjoyed Taka, Togo, and Funaki

    The masked man on the team, Shiryu, eventually came to America under his given name, Kaz Hayashi.

    Teioh and Togo were around in WWF for a short while. I figure once they realized how they'd be treated, they bolted back home.

    I didn't think this was anything mindblowing NOW, but I got a Best of MPro comp back in about 2001 and this was insane. I just rewatched and while I didn't think it was *****, it certainly did not feel like a 32 minute match, it really did fly by.

    Yeah, Togo was pretty awesome. Kaientai in general was great as a mid-card act. A lot of charisma for dudes that didn't use any (english) mic work.
