All right boys we're less than 24 hours away from Rumble time. What are your predictions:
Who will be this year's "Ironman"
Who will be Number 1? (Remember Dolph can pick 1 or 2)
Who will be Number 2?
Who will be Number 30?
Who will be the first participant eliminated?
Who will be the final participant eliminated?
Who will have the most eliminations?
Who will be in the final four?
Who will give us the best elimination defense (i.e. Kofi's handstand)?
And finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXIX (oops) sign?

Daniel Bryan eliminates Kane to win. Final Four includes Dolph Ziggler and John Cena.
ReplyDeleteIs this the first Rumble PPV where the Rumble match is a distant 2nd to the title match in terms of interest?
ReplyDeleteOnly other time I felt this way was 2000 when it was obvious Rocky was winning and HHH/Foleu was a hot title march.
Iron Man: Ziggler
ReplyDeleteNumber 1: Ziggler
Number 2: Zack Ryder
Number 30: Big E
First person eliminated: Zack Ryder
Last person eliminated: Ziggler
Most Eliminations: Ryback
Final Four: Ziggler, Big E, Orton, Cena
Best elimination defense: Ziggler
Cena points at the sign after eliminating Big E and Ziggler at the same time. Crowd shits all over it after being behind Dolph all night.
I would argue that there was likely just as much if not ore interest in Undertaker vs Yokozuna in 1994 as there was in the Rumble that year. Same with Bret vs Diesel in 1995.
ReplyDeleteAnd finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXVIII sign?
ReplyDeleteum, sheamus?
yeah right. d-bry will be #2 and last mayybe 9 seconds.
ReplyDeleteWho will be this year's "Ironman" - Dolph
ReplyDeleteWho will be Number 1? Dolph
Who will be Number 2? Miz
Who will be Number 30? Cesaro
Who will be the first participant eliminated? Ryder
Who will be the final participant eliminated? Cody Rhodes
Who will have the most eliminations?Ryback
Who will be in the final four? Orton, Dolph, Cody, Cena
Who will give us the best elimination defense (i.e. Kofi's handstand)? Dolph
And finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXVIII sign? Cena
Ironman: Dolph Ziggler
ReplyDeleteNumber 1: Dolph Ziggler
Number 2: Daniel Bryan
Number 30: Mark Henry
First participant eliminated: Zack Ryder
Final participant eliminated: Ryback
Most eliminations: Ryback
Final four: Cena, Ryback, Ziggler, Big E.
Best elimination defense: Big E catches Ziggler in mid air and tosses him back in the ring.
Winner: John Cena.
Iron man is Ziggler
ReplyDelete#1 -- Ziggler
#2 -- Miz
#30 -- Kane
1st eliminated -- Ryder
Last eliminated -- Ziggler
Most eliminated -- Sheamus or Barrett. Probably Sheamus.
Final 4 -- Cena, Sheamus, Ziggler, Kane
Best elimination defense -- Miz hops around the ring on one foot, slides back in and eliminates someone
Cena wins LOL
Extra prediction (haven't checked any sites don't know if it's been proven or disproved yet): Shelton returns, lasts quite awhile.
That elimination defense would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteIron Man: Dolph Ziggler
ReplyDelete#1: Dolph Ziggler
#2: Great Khali
#30: Roman Reigns
1st Eliminated: Great Khali
Last Eliminated: Dean Amborse
Most Eliminations: Ryback
Final Four: John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns
Best Elimination Defense: Dolph Ziggler
Wins and points to the sign: John Cena
Cena single handedly eliminating the Shield would absolutely infuriate me, but would not surprise me. Though there needs to be a point in the Rumble where its the Shield just picking apart and waiting on people coming in.
ReplyDeleteWho will be this year's "Ironman" Dolph
ReplyDeleteWho will be Number 1? (Remember Dolph can pick 1 or 2) Dolph
Who will be Number 2? Cena
Who will be Number 30? Undertaker
Who will be the first participant eliminated? Tensai
Who will be the final participant eliminated? Cena
Who will have the most eliminations? Ryback
Who will be in the final four? Ryback, Dolph, Cena, Undertaker
Who will give us the best elimination defense (i.e. Kofi's handstand)? Ryder
And finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXIX (oops) sign? Undertaker
Ironman: Bryan
ReplyDelete1: Dolph
2: Kofi
30: Sheamus
1st out: Heath Slater
Last out: Big Show
Most eliminations: Big E
Final 4: Cena, Bryan, Orton, Big Show
Best defense: Cody
Winner: Cena
Who will be this year's "Ironman" Dolph
ReplyDeleteWho will be Number 1? (Remember Dolph can pick 1 or 2) Dolph
Who will be Number 2? Daniel Bryan
Who will be Number 30? Big E

Who will be the final participant eliminated? Cena
Who will have the most eliminations? Ryback
Who will be in the final four? Cena, Dolph, Orton, Sheamus
Who will give us the best elimination defense (i.e. Kofi's handstand)? John Morrison
And finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXIX (oops) sign? Dolph
I was going to suggest that Big E catches Ziggler in mid air and tosses him back in the ring too. It makes sense, especially as a heel he can just do it over and over.
ReplyDeleteIm in the minority, but I think cenz wins.
ReplyDeleteIronman: Seth Rollins
ReplyDeleteNumber 1: Del Rio
Number 2: Zack Ryder
Number 30: John Cena
First out: Ryder
Final out: Orton
Most eliminations: Mark Henry
Final Four: Rollins, Ambrose, Orton, Cena
Best defense: Rollins lands on the barricade then jumps and hits the Blackout on an eliminated... Santino, then gets back in.
SIGN POINT: Cena.
Bonus predictions:
- Dolph gets out of #1 by cashing on Del Rio, who has to take Dolph's slot in the match
- The #30 entrant strolling in and winning will be teased, but not pulled off.
"Hell No EXPLODES!"
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, nearly every "wacky opposites tag team" Kane has been a part of has led to a spot in which he eliminates that partner in the Royal Rumble, or indirectly leads to that partner's elimination.
Kane eliminates X-Pac in the 2000 Rumble - refs don't see, Pac comes in and eliminates Kane (granted, the team had already dissolved, but they WERE feuding)
Kane lifts his tag team partner RVD into the air to dump him on Batista (or somebody), but instead turns around and dumps him out (which led to JR grousing about how disappointed he was in Kane for doing that, which always made me laugh).
Kane and Big Show, tag team champions at the time, mix it up in the 2006 Rumble, choking each other out on the ropes, giving HHH the opportunity to eliminate them both.
I wholeheartedly anticipate that one member of Team Hell No will eliminate the other, but I'm going with D-Bry eliminating Kane, and Kane turning around and eliminating him by offering to "Hug it out", and then pulling over the top.
I predict that, if Shelton Benjamin is a surprise entrant, Shawn Michaels will come out of retirement just to eliminate him again.
ReplyDelete1. Dolph
ReplyDelete2. Dolph
3. Cena
4. Orton
5. Santino
6. Cena
7. Ryback
8. Dolph, Cena, Ryback, Orton
9. Dolph gets caught by big E and tossed back in
10. Dolph
BOOK IT
ReplyDeletelol. Didn't he eliminate him on, like, 3 different occasions?
ReplyDeleteHBK has the record for all-time Rumble eliminations, and while I know it's not even a tiny bit true, for a stretch of years it felt like at least half of his eliminations were Shelton.
ReplyDeleteI like that many of us are thinking that Dolph will win the Rumble.
ReplyDeleteOr there's this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_DnRxJmhik
The whispers of Benjamin coming back have me pretty pumped up. I'm either hoping for 1. Some crazy ass Kingston or Morrison-like save by Shelton. Or 2. A fluke Final Four appearance by the returning star (kind of like Mr. Perfect in 2002).
ReplyDeleteI'm also hoping for someone to tell us a bit of a story along the way, much like Austin in 97 and Punk in 2010 and 2011. My guess would be they give one of the European power trio--Sheamus, Barrett, Cesaro--a big push with eliminations.
My biggest fear is going into mark mode when Cena eliminates Ziggler and Rock beats Punk, setting up a very likely dull rematch between Cena and Rock... I hope it doesn't ruin my overall enjoyment of the event. There's just something about the Cena character that has really ticked me off for approximately the last 15 months. Last Raw's promo is a perfect example of his character: no matter what the situation, he'll go for slightly topical yet off-topic jokes, think he's Will Ferrell, get all serious and slightly gangsta, and then get all emotional/inspirational. He hits the same notes in almost every interview, so even when he does come up with something clever, it just "sounds" the same as the promo he gave the week before. Nothing matters in the Cena-verse.
NO! NO! NO!
ReplyDeleteIronman: Ziggler
ReplyDelete#1: Ziggler
#2: Orton
#30: Miz
First Elimination: Darren Young
Last Elimination: Ziggler
Final Four: Ziggler, Ryback, Cena, Cesaro
Best Elimination Defense: Kofi
Winner: Cena
Prediction for Rock/Punk:
ReplyDeleteAs much as I would love to see Punk keep the title past Rumble, I've always thought there was no way it was going to happen. But if I've come around and I believe Punk is retaining Sunday. Punk retains at Rumble but drops the strap at EC to Rock. If keeps everyone involved strong and you still get the desired Rock/Cena 2 match for the title at WM.
Brad Maddox costs Rock the title and the match. The next night Rock says he isn't giving up and enters the Elimination Chamber match for the title to guarantee that no one will interfer this time. Punk ends up starting the match, surviving all the way to the end before finally falling to the Rock. After the match Cena comes out and they have their point to the sign wankfest to set up the rematch. Next night on Raw, Punk challenges Taker.
It cements Punk's reign as one of the all time greatest and it gives him a bad ass way to go out. And like I said, you still get to Cena/Rock 2.
Sheesh, I totally missed the part where Dolph won the beat the clock challenge, but still must enter in the first Rumble slot. Anyway, I would say if the Shield, Ryback, or Ziggler won it all, I would be truly happy (though Brock would be the one non-new guy that would be okay).
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the few truly must see PPVs, where I don't know what is happening.. The only thing I can really count on is a fucking annoying John Cena smirk.
The idea of Del Rio taking Ziggler's spot after losing the title is great. But then he MUST go coast-to-coast and challenge at WM.
ReplyDeleteThing is, I doubt they'll do it with Del Rio or the #2 title...but I think you hit on a great future story arc with a baby face ready to take the solid top spot and with the WWE title.
Who will be this year's "Ironman" Dolph Ziggler & Shelton Benjamin (They begin the rumble and end up being tossed at the same time near the end.)
ReplyDeleteWho will be Number 1? (Remember Dolph can pick 1 or 2) Dolph Ziggler
Who will be Number 2? Shelton Benjmain
Who will be Number 30? Ryback
Who will be the first participant eliminated? Bo Dallas
Who will be the final participant eliminated? CM Punk
Who will have the most eliminations? Ryback individually, Shield collectively
Who will be in the final four? CM Punk, Ryback, Antonio Cesaro... John Cena
Who will give us the best elimination defense (i.e. Kofi's handstand)? Shield hang around after their first man enters and keep saving each other until all are in the ring.
And finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXIX (oops) sign?... Sigh, John Cena
Shield clears out everyone to win the Rumble. None of them leaves the ring as the show fades out.
ReplyDeleteThere. Book that.
It just doesnt get any better than Yokozuna/UT at RR.
ReplyDeleteIron Man: Dolph
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 and 2: Ziggler and Ryder
Number 30:Shield Member
First Out: Ryder
Last Out: Ziggler
Most Eliminations: Ryback
Final Four: Cena, Dolph, 2 Shield Members,
Best Almost Out: Shelton Benjamin
Winner: John Cena
Iron Man: Ziggler
ReplyDelete#1: Ziggler
#2: Daniel Bryan
#30: Sheamus
First eliminated: NXT winner
Last one out: Ziggler
Most eliminations: Ryback
Final Four: Cena, Ziggler, Ryback, Ambrose
Best elimination defense: Kofi
The man pointing at the sign with the pyro going off: JEEEUUUUUUHNNNNN CEEEEEEEENAAAAAAAA
That'd be cool and different, but don't know where you go from there.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm sure it ends with Cena beating them all in a 3-on-1 handicap match to get us Cena/Rock 2 for the title.
How about this...Punk/Rock as the semi-main, Shield runs down to interfere. Punk and Heyman freak out and try to waive them off, at the same time Cena runs out to clear them out. After doing so, Rock grabs Cena to spin him around. Cena thinks it's the Shield and clocks Rock. Punk wins by DQ or by pinning Rock after the interference.
ReplyDeleteIn the Rumble, a pissed off Rock runs in to eliminate Cena. Ziggler having a great run, surviving past #2 D-Bry and Ryback and Henry who eliminate each other.
He's down to him and a beaten down Santino when #29 enters...Heath Slater. Dolph laughs at his luck and beats both down, waiving down #30.
GONG!!!
Taker heads to the ring, Ziggler in a panic quickly clears Santino and Slater, but ultimately loses to Taker, who gets to issue his own challenge to kick off Streak Vs Title at Mania.
I'm guessing all the up votes are for the crowd shitting on Cena winning. Hell, I'll give you one for that, too!
ReplyDeleteHe's the only person in the Rumble that many of us LIKE.
ReplyDeleteZiggler is your Ironman and number 1 entry, Kofi does crazy elimination defense, CENA wins it. Everything else in-between I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteIron man: Ziggler
ReplyDelete#1 Ziggler
#2 Ryder (not original I know, but it's what I think)
#30 Khali (but there's still six smart guys left and they gang bang him)
1st out: Ryder (in like 30 seconds)
Final out: Kane
Most eliminations: Kane
Best defense: John Morrison
Winner: Cena I guess, I really hope for a swerve.
Kane: Curious if they let him get many eliminations, getting close to catching Shawn for most outs overall. Can see him coming in 30 if they(read:HHH) wants to protect HBK
ReplyDeleteIronman - Ziggler
ReplyDelete1 - Bryan
2 - Ziggler
3 - Riley
30 - Barrett
First Out - Riley
Last Out - Bryan
Diesel - Ryback
Final 4 - Ziggler, Bryan, Kane, Cena
Defense - Kofi, Morrison, and Shelton (all three try to outdo each other)
Winner - Ziggler
I can definitely see Ziggler and Bryan going coast-to-coast, Cena has to be part of the final four, and I figure that Kane will be there if Bryan is there. "The Shield" interferes to eliminate Cena, leaving Ziggler, Bryan, and Kane. "Hell No" work together for a bit, but when the opportunity arises, Bryan eliminates Kane. Ziggler and Bryan do the "five-minute match" ending, teasing a bunch of eliminations; AJ serves as a distraction to Bryan, and Langston gets involved (either by saving Ziggler or attacking Bryan), allowing Ziggler to win it.
How I love the Royal Rumble. I really think I might prefer it to Wrestlemania.
ReplyDeleteThis would seem a natural time to end Team Hello No, so Rhodes Scholars to win the tag titles. I'd like to see ADR retain, Cesaro too.
#1 - Dolph
#2 - Cena
#30 - Shelton Benjamin
Winner - I really have no idea, but I can see a Rock/Cena/Punk triple threat at Mania, so I guess Cena (but I really hope not).
I think we should also add the following categories:
ReplyDelete- Third Entrant (usually the lowest guy on the roster)
- Surprise Returns
- Face-Off (when two guys do the dramatic stare-down)
Ironman: Ziggler
ReplyDelete#1: Ziggler
#2: Sheamus
First out: Darren Young
Last out: Ziggler
Most eliminations: Tie, Daniel Bryan and Kane (in a funny "dueling eliminations" spot involving numerous deadwood competitors)
Final Four: Ziggler, Ryback, Carlito & GROAN (Cena)
Best defense: Dolph Ziggler playing "the floor is lava" on the backs of several recently-defeated contenders
Winner: John Cena
Loser: Everyone else
Oops, missed one.
ReplyDelete#30: Carlito
Either that or Dolph wins, chooses the WWE title for WM, and cashes in at EC on ADR. TITLE vs TITLE!
ReplyDeleteThat is probably exactly how it will go. :: Sad Face ::
ReplyDeleteCena interferes to cost Dolph and complete the burial.
ReplyDeleteRumble should be great. Can't wait for wrestlemania. Rock/Cena, Brock/Triple h, Punk/Taker, Orton/Sheamus... does it really matter who are the meaningless champions?? Only thing that matters is breaking Takers streak and being the main event of every show (john cena championship)
ReplyDeleteI want Cena to do another dramatic stare down with Orton to absolutely no reaction.
ReplyDeleteEven though I posted that I thought Dolph will be the Iron Man, I have a sneaking suspicion they're not going to let him have that. They have been going out of their way to ignore the face reactions he gets at every PPV and smark city, so I imagine it's the same thing here. They're not going to want to give the fans a reason to cheer for him. If anything, he repeats Austin from '97 and gets eliminated but comes back in when no one notices. Difference here is, Cena still eliminates him, either as a participant or ala Hogan-Sid by pulling him out after Dolph eliminates Cena.
ReplyDeleteThey're not going to let the fans have a reason to get behind Dolph. Going broadway does exactly that, even for marks who would be interested in seeing "how long he can last" and start rooting for him in spite of themselves.
That's still my favorite Rumble moment, because you could tell they wanted it to be this dramatic Warrior-Hogan moment and the audience shit all over that.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, why can't we have Punk/Cena/Rock at Mania? I don't even care if they do a bullshit non-finish with a double pin or no contest tonight to get us there. That's clearly the money match. Punk has reigned as WWE Champion for over a year and you're going to end it on the Rumble? When Wrestlemania is only like two months away? You can let the Rumble winner wrestle for the World Title. It needs a reason to be on the card. Punk/Rock/Cena writes itself.
ReplyDeleteWho will be this year's "Ironman" Ziggler
ReplyDeleteWho will be Number 1? Ziggler
Who will be Number 2? Cena
Who will be Number 30? Bo Dallas
Who will be the first participant eliminated? Santino at 3
Who will be the final participant eliminated? Cena
Who will have the most eliminations? Ryback (5)
Who will be in the final four? Ziggler, Cena, Orton, Slater
Who will give us the best elimination defense (i.e. Kofi's handstand)? 3MB does their Matt Hardy/Shannon Moore impression
And finally who will the damn thing and the right to point at the Wrestlemania XXIX (oops) sign? Ziggler...after cashing in his MitB contract earlier in the night. Dolph's quest to outshine Punk and be the unified champion begins.
I doubt it - Kane's only short by, like, two or something, and probably has a few more "Rumbles" in him. It'd basically take nothing short of not having Kane in any other "Rumbles" to preserve Shawn's record.
ReplyDeletePlus, Shawn is already the only guy they mention as going coast-to-coast, so he already has that big feather in his cap.
ADR wouldn't even have to win the "Rumble" - having a hard-fought victory earlier in the night, getting screwed out of the title, and then entering the "Rumble" as #1 and lasting until the Final Four would be a MASSIVE babyface push.

First

Most
eliminations-Kane and Daniel Bryan tie
Final 4-Ziggler,
Cena, Brock Lesnar, Ryback
Best
defense-Ziggler (caught by Big E)
Winner-Lesnar
I'm going with what I want to happen instead of predicting it because I think the real outcome is going to be underwhelming. Dolph Ziggler cashes in and wins World Title after a grueling LMS win for Big Show! Dolph keeps his #1 spot because he
wants a chance to challenge for WWE Title as well. Rock beats Punk for title, Cena prevents Maddox interference foreshadowing a Cena Rumble victory. Final four is Cena, Ziggler, Ryback, and Lesnar. Ziggler eliminates Cena and Cena
pulls the childish Hogan elimination of Sid and pulls Ziggler out from the
outside because he’s upset he won’t get to face the Rock. Fans shit all over Cena as many were thinking Ziggler could pull it off and we get a double turn. Brock eliminates Ryback and wins. Sets up Rock vs. Brock headliner and Ziggler (face) vs. Cena (heel). No way this happens, but it would be pretty awesome!
Ironman - Ziggler

#2 - Zack Ryder
#30 - John Cena
First eliminated - Zack Ryder
Last eliminated - Dolph Ziggler
Most eliminations - Ryback
Final Four - Cena, Ziggler, Miz, Wade Barrett

Winner - Take one guess. (John Cena)
Ironman: Ziggler

#30: Sheamus
First elimination: Ryder
Last elimination: Cena
Most elimiations: Ryback
Final 4: Orton, Sheamus, Cena, Miz
Best defense: no idea, really.
Winner: Orton.
Something just crossed my mind...what's the kayfabe explanation for the mystery entrants getting Rumble spots? It's for a shot at the title, so how do they got a spot over a current employee? Do they pay a fee? Does Vince call them and invite them back? Was Shelton Benjamin employed this whole time, and just really really busy? I want to know!
