You know what I miss? When wrestlers were hailed as "from parts unknown"
That is clearly a question even though you specified in the e-mail's subject that it wasn't. Now I don't believe in nothing no more.
Anyway, I'm assuming Who would be the last guy.
Brutus Beefcake was from parts unknown when he was "The man with no name" in WCW that was a good while after the Ultimate Warrior/Papa Shango era.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Fandango from Parts Unknown
ReplyDeleteWho wasn't from "Parts Unknown". He was from "Who knows Where?" which I believe is a neighboring county.
ReplyDeleteYES!!! I had a gig the other night and when the host asked me what I wanted for my introduction, I told him to just say, "This next comic hails from Parts Unknown." I wasn't expecting anyone to get the reference, but I was cracking up as I took the stage.
ReplyDeleteYou're a comic? Any video online?
ReplyDelete"Parts Unknown" suggests characters. WWE doesn't have any.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Kane supposed to be from? Undertaker is from death valley ca (good one Vince!) but kane was separated from him.
ReplyDelete"Scott's Blog of Doom: The Official Blog of Parts Unknown"
ReplyDeleteI imagine a young Kane and Paul Bearer hauling ass in a U-Haul from Death Valley to Parts Unknown, with a burning funeral parlor in the background. Is Parts Unknown even on a map? Maybe in one of those "Area 51" type spots on Google Maps. Where there's no street view or satellite view available.
ReplyDeleteThere's only one man who can be from wherever he darn well pleases
ReplyDeleteAnd is there just one parts unknown or are there several? Is it even in America? Is ultimate warrior from the same parts unknown as giant gonzalez? Does every country have one? Do they assign social security numbers? Where do they mail the check to? Wrestling geography is confusing.
ReplyDeleteI support this.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I miss that. It made the character seem mysterious, like he just shows up to hurt people and nobody knows who he is or where he comes from.
ReplyDeleteUltimate Warrior is the mayor of Parts Unknown.
ReplyDeleteNo. He lives in a ball room in Queens.
ReplyDeleteI believe Giant Gonzalez came from Parts Unknown, Brazil. The Ultimate Warrior came from Parts Unknown, Arizona. I believe there are several Parts Unknowns in Arizona. Just ask someone from Arizona.
ReplyDeleteWWE could really use some larger than life characters.
ReplyDeleteWho?
ReplyDeleteIt's like Springfield; one in most every state.
ReplyDeleteSo I assume gay marriage isn't legalized there.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that was a bad Who's on First joke?
ReplyDeleteZach Gowen was from Parts Ungrown
ReplyDeletesorry
Thanks for asking, I don't have any full sets up, but I made this to promote myself (and there is a Daniel Bryan shout-out in it, wrestling fans):

My problem right now is I'm also a teacher, so I have to be careful about posting some of my jokes online.
I miss the shitty old WCW introductions like "From the North Woods", "the Diamond Mine," or my personal favorite, "from a little town in France."
ReplyDeleteThough I will confess, "from the Darkside" was always Badass with a Capital B.
As a comedian you should probably stick some jokes in your promotional video! :-)
ReplyDelete"every girls fantasy"
ReplyDelete"every mans nightmare"
"wcw special forces"
Per wwe.com, for what it's worth Doink apparently is from Parts Unknown.
ReplyDeleteHack Myers will always win with 'The Last House on the Left'.
Badstreet, USA
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeleteIf I recall correctly, Who was billed as being from "Who Knows Where"
ReplyDelete...a lesson learned in time.
ReplyDeleteWell played.
ReplyDeletePapa Shango was from there too...he might have been the last.
ReplyDeleteDamien Demento: from "the outer reaches of your mind". Brutus Beefcake was from Parts Unknown until about 1985 when he packed up everything he owned in a single box and left for SanFrancisco to live out his dream of being a barber....or was it a booty man?
ReplyDeleteBest hometown ever:

It was funny when they would also say "weight unknown" and Gorilla Monsoon would say "I understand the parts unknown but why can't they just put him on a scale?"
ReplyDeleteCan't believe I forgot this one...the last wrestler to be billed from Parts Unknown (and his weight and height were unknown too) was MATT CLASSIC!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAWpmJGQxBA
ReplyDeleteThere you go. He moves to San Francisco and gets a title shot. My guess is that he got it by choosing the booty man job. "Live the dream, Beefer!".
ReplyDeleteOh it grew, it just didn't grow back. It was removed when he was a kid. YOUR JOKE IS INCORRECT.
ReplyDeleteJim Neidhart played baseball!?
ReplyDelete"From WCW Special Forces..."
ReplyDeleteShyeah right... more like, from No Legsville.
ReplyDeleteLest we forget, Brodus Clay is from Planet Funk.
ReplyDeleteHe's Lisa Lampanelli.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think Kane is.
ReplyDeletemaybe even larger than airport characters?
ReplyDeleteWell, Queering doesn't make Parts Unknown work.
ReplyDeleteI'm not actually from Parts Unknown, but according to the shirt I got from Barbershop Window, I did attend Parts Unknown University.
ReplyDeleteGangrel was from The Other Side of Darkness and The Boogeyman was from The Bottomless Pit. They have to be suburbs of Parts Unknown.
