Howdy Blog O'Doomers!
Whew, just made it in on deadline again.
We've got MLB playoffs and Monday Night Football so the post-PPV RAW is climbing an uphill battle. I have read enough on this board to determine that I missed very little when I chose not to watch the PPV last night as only the Rhodes' story moved anywhere.
Still there's three weeks before another PPV and maybe a chance to salvage this fast-fading feud and having a good show tonight would be a start in the right direction.
So enjoy the show and come out swinging but remember to keep it clean!

Watching Raw has become so tedious; it almost makes me question why I keep up with the product when the internet has such a treasure trove of classic wrestling to enjoy. It could only be likened to sitting in the stale air of an office cubicle for a decade, staring at the same shit day in and day out with no hope of a change in scenery. Eventually, you'll lose your fucking mind and just go postal on someone.
ReplyDeleteMonday Night Raw begins in 5 minutes
ReplyDeleteIF ABEYANCE WINS WE RIOT.
ReplyDeleteThere...got that out of the way.
"ThatSmarkGuy seemed like such a normal guy... I never saw him doing something like this." - parallax1978 after you lose it
ReplyDeleteGoing to watch a little bit of it because its coming from my town.
ReplyDeleteRaw's doing another horrible number tonight. It's one of those black hole of suck shows.
ReplyDelete--New York market involved in MNF.
--LA market has a late playoff baseball game meaning they're missing the 1st half of the show.
--Boston has baseball
--Atlanta has baseball AND football so you might as well just write them off.
So just on factors out of their control, 4 of the top 8 TV markets are occupied with something better to do AND they're coming off a disappointing PPV. Smells like 2.6 or worse to me.
If HiaC wasn't 3 weeks away this would be one of those wrestling heavy stories where they don't touch storylines because they know nobody's watching. Unfortunately for them they have some heavy lifting to do.
You know you DO have the option to not watch Raw, and youtube old wrestling instead, right? That would clearly make you happier, so... Why are you gonna force yourself to watch Raw?
ReplyDeleteEh. You have to go to work. Nobody forces you to watch RAW.
ReplyDeleteYou might be overestimating the amount of baseball fans left. Especially in the Wild Card round.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, WWE Sucks, right? I mean, WWE totally sucks! Hey wait, I got a good one... WWE really REALLY totally sucks!! It like, SUCKS!!
ReplyDelete*1600 posts later*
WWE sure sucked tonight!! it's like the suckiest sucks that ever sucked!!
/Thread Over.
Cane Abeyance!
ReplyDeleteGood evenin'. :-)
ReplyDeleteSee ya next week.
ReplyDeleteMan Stephanie kicking of Raw is awesome! Who wants to watch wrestlers when you have one of the owners on TV?
ReplyDelete.....And it's a McMahon.
ReplyDeleteIs that any worse than spending several hours reading a blog and responding to comments full of people you disagree with?
ReplyDeleteIf people don't like RAW they don't have to watch.
If people don't like reading the comments, they don't need to read the comments (or respond to them).
Tooootaloooo motherfluckers.
ReplyDeleteOne of the principal owners! Guess they didn't like the sound of that head of creative title they usually give her.
ReplyDeleteBaseball is regional (although no sport besides the NFL is truly national at this point), which is why the TV markets involved with baseball right now are so important.
ReplyDeleteStephs looking good
ReplyDelete"Farva...I give you the time of your life last night and you don't call? WTF?"
ReplyDelete- Vincent Kennedy McMahon
No one cuts a promo like Stephanie. Her angle with The Big Show is the storyline since....well since ever!
ReplyDeleteRemember in the live thread last night after the show ended how we all agreed that the upside to it was that we could start RAW with a Stephanie promo?
ReplyDeleteIn the irony of all Ironies, I'm one of the few people who seems to enjoy WWE... Yet I have barely watched any Raws in 2013.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing we all unanimously agree with is, 3 hours is just too long.
If I could rebook just one thing in this whole deal, I'd probably write anyone else into Big Show's role.
ReplyDeleteYou must be new to watching pro wrestling.
ReplyDeleteI'd still give her the best 7 minutes of her life anyday!
ReplyDeleteSomeone with his wrestling predigree and acting chops, how could anyone else be in that spot?
ReplyDeleteShe's got her Daddy's "SHUT UP" down pat.
ReplyDeleteHere's Stephanie to bite off Big Show's balls.
ReplyDeleteIf Show knocks her out, I will suck his dick.
ReplyDeleteRepeatedly.
Vince: "when youre exclaiming my name in bliss, its MISTER McMahon."
ReplyDeleteGet in line.
ReplyDeleteHey Toddlorenz, I used to put you in the same category as Mick, as people that i had NEVER seen say anything positive about WWE ever. But I think I caught one positive comment last night. You are now out of the club. :)
ReplyDelete:: Saves this post ::
ReplyDeleteI am also completely disinterested in seeing Big Show anywhere near a Main Event role/angle.
ReplyDeleteStephanie dressing down wrestlers never gets old!
ReplyDelete"I remember nursing you 15 years ago"
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere once that 7 minutes is twice as long as the average sexual encounter (the penetration part, anyway) lasts.
ReplyDeleteSomething something half the size of his forearm.
ReplyDeleteEven though we've heard this speech from Steph to the Big Show for weeks on end, tonight it still seems fresh!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hate when someone cuts a promo acknowledging something disappointing, and acting like they feel for the fans, when they're the ones who caused the disappointment. If you have to acknowledge the fans' disappointment, maybe you should have run something different. I know, it's wrestling, it's storyline, etc. But it's a pet peeve that drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteI lovr steph. Fuck you paul Levesque
ReplyDeleteBig Show is one of the highest payed wrestlers. He has also worked steadily in the business since 1996', hard to suspend disbelief that he is broke.
ReplyDeleteRemember all those classic angles about mortgages?
ReplyDeleteI think Steph might have stolen some of Terrell Owens' earrings
ReplyDeletethey're going for the dynamic of Show as the evil AIG who needed to be bailed out, and HHH/Steph as the good, exploited, poor taxpayer who bailed them out. D'awwwwwww!
ReplyDeleteMan you have the sarcasmometer set on full tonight.
ReplyDeleteAt least it's not MizTV.
ReplyDeleteNah save that for someone who could use it. A Zigg-Zagg on Steph and a hot feud afterword could cement a guy like Dolph Ziggler as a main level guy.
ReplyDeleteYou don't own his home you fucking idiots, when you pay off someone's mortgage, they're free and clear.
ReplyDeletewait, what?
ReplyDeleteThe Big Slave?
ReplyDelete"Now if you need me, I will be in the back selling more stock"
ReplyDelete*Show punches Steph*
ReplyDeleteShow: Emancipation proclamation, bitch!
I am deathly serious tonight. This is great stuff! I mean, who DOESN'T like this?
ReplyDeleteI really hope that KO punch hits Stephanie right in the face.
ReplyDeleteI read a medical study in med school... gues the average amount of sexual partners for the average american.
ReplyDeleteShe is very good here.
ReplyDeletePaid or unpaid?
ReplyDeleteLike her dad, she's an horrible babyface and an awesome heel.
ReplyDelete(Elvis voice)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Thank you very much.
I want to say 5.
ReplyDeleteThe same reason I watched through 2002 - the present, I guess: a few wrestlers hit the scene that show me glimpses of a product that could still be great, and there's that hope against hope that things will turn around and the show will become fun and lively. In the past, whenever the company would botch one guy, there'd be another to come along that gave that little speck of hope. After a decade though, it's feeling more and more like they're NOT going to turn it around any time soon.
ReplyDeleteCommenting on things before they're over never gets old!
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, it's much easier to overact and be a heel.
ReplyDeleteTo clarify, Brad Maddox is Pat Patterson's puppet.
ReplyDeleteVince has been an effective face in the past. He was great right before the higher power angle.
ReplyDeleteGood question, wasnt specified but im guessing unpaid
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on with that stock thing? She's been selling a crap load for the last few months (obviously, not the preferred stock, but still)
ReplyDeleteShe needs to work on the "you're fired."
ReplyDeleteOh, man. I sense a dick sucking in my future.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Carolina Chocolate Drops and Bill James' Popular Crime instead of Raw until the games start. As mentioned in the thread last night, these threads are generally as much fun as the actual show anyway.
ReplyDeleteWow this actually pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI never got into him as a babyface, even then.
ReplyDeleteHand puppet?
ReplyDeleteYea, this is all settibg up a show turn
ReplyDeleteYou can't fire me, I'm already fired.
ReplyDeleteTHAT WAS AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry folks, he'll be back later to turn heel.
ReplyDeleteyou're not getting the vibes of greedy, fiscally irresponsible Big Show who needs to be booed, and the glorious heroic actions of HHH/she-bitch who should get standing ovations for helping him out?
ReplyDeletefuck this Steph/Big Show bullshit, if I wanted to watch public humiliation, I'd go to kink.
Why's he so happy about being fired? Or is he in shooting up the workplace mode now?
ReplyDeleteI can forgive that... because my counter is "They bought the mortgage off the bank, and now Show owes them." Not that they paid off the mortgage.
ReplyDelete(It's a(n) (il)legal thing?)
So why is it ok for you, and not for me? either we're both right, or we're both wrong.
ReplyDeleteBig Show? Turn heel? The DEVIL you say!
ReplyDeleteIf that six man had real time, and the energy from last night, MOTY contender easily.
ReplyDeleteDamn give that 6-man 15 minutes and it'll blow the roof off the place.
ReplyDeleteSeven's my guess.
ReplyDeleteI understand the no attacking women PG thing. But when Big Show gets slapped over and over again and does nothing, he looks like a giant pussy. Remember that time Steph slapped Austin or the Rock and they just stood there and took it?
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't owe them jack shit unless he signed a promisary note, they paid off his mortgage, he's free. Hell, he can sell his house and profit on it now. At least he didn't sell it, because it's fucking stupid.
ReplyDeleteGood idea.
ReplyDeleteRight...
ReplyDeleteMe: (opens wide)
ReplyDeleteIf this was the Attitude Era Big Show would've chokeslammed her to the cheers of thousands of drunken lunatics.
ReplyDeleteSo.. Am I a Doomer, or an Otter?
ReplyDeleteThis place confuses me sometimes.
Your right! She slapped Big Show too! And now he's fired! So he could punch anyone he wants now without getting into trouble! That was his plan all along, which makes sense on why he KO'ed his buddy Bryan last night!
ReplyDeleteRaw is 3 hours. it doesn't have to be 3 solid hours of non-stop chain wrestling. (though even if it were, you'd still complain about too many rest holds or something.)
ReplyDeleteI legitimately have no idea what the point of any of this is.
ReplyDeleteyou don't need to be drunk to enjoy Steph getting chokeslammed if that'll make her shut the fuck up.
ReplyDeleteDoes this angle make Show look kinda awesome? Well, now he's kicked everyone's ass, insulted the boss and laughed off Steph's threats, pretty much.
ReplyDeleteBUT, was it worth feeding the whole title schmozz and countless hours of TV time to get Show back to Main Event level again? Probably not.
Still, not complaining with that opening. Carry on.
I hope it is 7, just so I can say "Yay, I'm average!" Though it depends on the definition of "sexual partner", I'm only counting intercourse, not dome/hjs/etc...
ReplyDeleteIf it were ECW, she may have only gotten one slap in.
ReplyDeleteGreat opening segment, or the greatest opening segment? I can't tell.
ReplyDeleteI always opt for the lazier route. Adding the -er just makes sense to me. If I wasn't lazy, I'd actually push for Doomers more
ReplyDeleteYou! To the booking team, now!
ReplyDeleteIs it really? How many pro athletes who have made 10x the money of Show wound up going broke anyway? A ton. Now it's hard to suspend disbelief just because WE know it's not true, but for someone younger, it's not inconceivable.
ReplyDeleteQuestion for the Otters - When did Big Show peak?
ReplyDeleteSo no Ad-Break Question?
ReplyDeleteLOL at the 'did you know'.
ReplyDeleteNotice how NBC (showing Sunday Night Football) wasn't mentioned?
1996
ReplyDelete1996, WCW Champ as a rookie.
ReplyDeleteDebuting in the WWE.
ReplyDeleteBeat me to it.
ReplyDeleteWwe Fans aernt the sharpest tools in the shed
ReplyDelete"Did you know Battleground was the most socially active show on TV last night?"
ReplyDeleteBecause when thousands of people all say "this ending sucks" at the same time...
Plus the power outage probably drew a lot of "WTF?" comments.
ReplyDeleteIf they don't feed him to Austin so quick, and begin As The Show Turns... I'd agree.
ReplyDeleteSo many logic gaps. Won't explain the Armstrong stuff from last month or the "you told me to" line
ReplyDeleteApparently, typing I SPENT $45 FOR THAT SHIT still qualifies as "Socially active"
ReplyDeleteYeah, but we had the awesomeness of Shiled vs Rhodes.
ReplyDeleteBE FAIR TO FLAIR!
ReplyDeleteoh, wait...
Not really. Plenty of very successful athletes/entertainers blow through their money and wind up broke.
ReplyDeleteIs this the sort of thing that happens in these live threads?
ReplyDeleteI don't care how good Raw is leading up to it, I will not buy a Cell match with no blood and a fucking pink ring rope. Also when was the last time someone got out the Cell and had a wild brawl.
ReplyDeleteProject blue said in the ppv tbread last night that a "Randy Savage" chant must happen during a Steph promo segment. Lets make this happen live fans everywhere
ReplyDeleteThe BJ?
ReplyDeleteOh man, Ziggler and Sandow, I actually like this without the snark! Or do I? Some are too dense to figure out!
ReplyDeleteOnly when the irritation is high.
ReplyDeleteOr why the hell they would go through so much trouble to get the title off of Bryan while still looking fair only to out themselves here.
ReplyDeleteOr how they supported Orton, then they didn't, then they did.
YES
ReplyDeleteZiggles vs Sandow? Is there a way they both can lose?
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong, but that type of comment might be exclusive to me.
ReplyDeleteOr have a terrible match with Mick Foley at his first Mania.
ReplyDeleteDamnit, tonight's start would've worked out fine.
ReplyDeleteThere are people that have made more and lost it.
ReplyDeleteDel Rio comes out and kills both with a chair, just because.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of his first match. Think about that, he won the world title by pinning fucking Hulk Hogan in his FIRST FUCKING MATCH. If we talked about wrestlers like we talked about regular athletes, Big Show would probably be second to whoever the Ryan Leaf of wrestling is on the biggest busts list.
ReplyDeleteI'll never understand why the didn't do Taker/Show there. It made total sense.
ReplyDeleteDon't think guys, just mark out already! Its more enjoyable that way.
ReplyDeletePeople could pay $55 and have Big Show knock them both out. *I'd* pay money to see that!
ReplyDeleteSheamus returns and Brogue kicks Ziggler for the 1,000th time.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised they haven't "punished" Cole yet.
ReplyDeleteYea, would have been perfect
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about it...if it became a "What?!?" like thing, she'd never appear on TV again, I'd imagine....but good lord she'd go beast mode in creative, destroying anything the IWC even thinks about liking
ReplyDeleteYup.
ReplyDeleteThat never happens. Now, them fighting on the outside and getting distracted by someone else's music for a good 10 count.... that could happen.
ReplyDeleteUm... no?
ReplyDeleteIIRC, he beat Flair for the title on Nitro, before the NWO started. But he did lose it to Hogan.
So HHH is the COO. Steph is the "Principal Owner". Maddox is the GM of Raw, but has authority at the PPV. And Vince, returning soon, is the Chairman.
ReplyDeleteWho's the VP of Talent Relations? Where does Linda fit in? And can we resurrect Jack Tunney?
Just her initial reaction would be phenomenal
ReplyDeleteThere is no bigger heel than bureaucracy.
ReplyDeleteAS MONDAY NIGHT RAW ROLLS ON!
ReplyDeleteWhat does she care, she gets over on this and no one can get over back on her.
ReplyDeleteSimmer down sparky.
ReplyDeleteProject Blue has great ideas..
ReplyDeleteOh man, a NEW fandango on raw tonight!?!? BE STILL MY BEATING HEART (see fandango's tweet)
ReplyDeleteSometimes, you just gotta smack a bitch.
ReplyDeleteNope, his first televised and advertised match was against Hulk Hogan at Halloween Havoc'95 when Jimmy Hart turned heel.
ReplyDeleteHis 2nd title reign was defeating Ric Flair on Nitro.
Corrected, and again, I am idiot.
ReplyDeleteI wish their was a list of the full kayfabe WWE power structure. I'm curious who Executive Vice President of Custodial Arts is.
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish there was a way to put someone on 'ignore' so you wouldn't see their posts.
ReplyDeleteAd-Break Question: What is your opinion on the ending of my match with Ryback last night?
ReplyDeleteNo, he did win the title in his first match, but it was by DQ. Then they went back on it and did the 60 man battle royal schmoz where Savage won without Hogan actually being eliminated. That Hogan.
ReplyDeleteBut he does have that really nice 'Kane gig' going now where he can always just take a few weeks/months off then come back as an uppercard face or heel. Great guy to have on the roster, even if he's not the most exciting guy in the ring.
ReplyDeleteUm, yay?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure his first match was against Hogan at Halloween Havoc 95, though come to think of it he didn't pin Hogan, he won by DQ but still got the title somehow, and him being stripped was the reason we had the first WW3 PPV. But I'm positive he won the WCW title in his first match.
ReplyDelete(sarcasm, methinks.)
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, I edited my stupidity above.
ReplyDeleteThere's a serious Judean People's Front situation going on here.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS-0Az7dgRY
So I forgot Raw was on again.. (not a good sign). Did I miss anything good so far?
ReplyDeleteThese fake tweets are making me cry
ReplyDeleteAlso, wasn't there a mention of a Board of Directors meeting last night, as the reason HHH and Steph weren't there?
ReplyDeleteSandow looks just like that actor, Rafi fron the league/perfume guy from parks and rec
ReplyDeleteCrowd kind of trashed the Ryback/Heyman live sex celebration
ReplyDeleteTowards the tail end of the Touts push, I swear they used a group of writers
ReplyDeleteThe VP of talent relations is some chick Linda met at the old lady hair salon. She's made several appearances on Total Divas.
ReplyDeleteThe fans forgot to chant "Randy Savage" at Steph.
ReplyDeleteShow has been fired. Cody, Dustin, and Daniel Bryan vs. The Shield.
ReplyDeleteStephanie:
ReplyDeletewords words words words, more words, (slap Big Show repeatedly)...whatcha gonna do Show? Nothin'! You're FIRED!
Because you schedule important meeting for Sunday nights. When your company has a big event on. Why wait for Monday morning, in business hours?
ReplyDeleteThese announcers right now.... ugh. I feel like I'm stuck at a breakfast table with in-laws, all the while nursing a hangover. And they can't stop being annoying.
ReplyDeleteThat's what this witless banter feels like. I feel trapped and am screaming inside my own head for them to shut up.
Cole and JBL can be good, but they just haven't been this last month.
Big Show and I went to the same college, so he always has his education to fall back on -
ReplyDeleteyeah he's boned
Great comparison
ReplyDeleteThis is probably the worst match with two people I like that I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThey're FINE.
ReplyDelete- TNA
Poor JBL is just buried behind Cole and Lawler. It's like he has to dumb down his material so he doesn't destroy them.
ReplyDelete...did the power go out last night because Zigs stuck a finger in a light socket?
ReplyDeleteWhat was the last hitc match anyways
ReplyDeleteAn Awesome Talker vs An Awesome Seller. There's a weird void where the offence should be.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone not think Sandow is winning this match? 50/50 booking must endure..
ReplyDeleteNo. VKM did it to prove the Super Bowl ain't got nuthin on him.
ReplyDelete(credit to whoever said that last night...I don't remember)
AS usual the announcing is brutal, there has to be like 25-50 ex-wrestlers that could step in for King. Someone like Lanny Poffo for example.
ReplyDeleteMITB might be the best gimmick dince the ladder/tlc matches
ReplyDeleteBilly Gunn
ReplyDeleteLLOL Nice.
ReplyDeleteI heard Renee Young has started doing play by play on NXT. I wonder if they're grooming her to take over a major role on one of the big 2 shows soon.
ReplyDeleteDolph has poofy hair!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes Dolph's hair not like air?
ReplyDeleteI was happy it was over...
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember that, but I also didn't really get into WCW until Scott Hall showed up.
ReplyDeleteUmm....Punk/Ryback/Cena?
ReplyDelete
