Comments

  1. There's nothing fun about the neutered New Age Outlaws.

    ReplyDelete
  2. The Miz? Fuck this!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Eh, I'm willing to give him a shot, but let's just say I'm not optimistic.

    ReplyDelete
  4. This match is like going back in time with the exception of Cody. It's like 1999 all over again.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Someone let the Outlaws know they're now heels. Oh wait this is all they've got!

    ReplyDelete
  6. It's really sad seeing the old guy wrestle with shirts on. I mean it's just pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Goldust was long gone by '99.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Well, he was IC champ in April before losing it to the Godfather!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hmmmm so when was he Se7en again?

    ReplyDelete
  10. No idea, but that might've been late 1999.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ugh. PLEASE get rid of authority figures!

    ReplyDelete
  12. How else is Steph supposed to get TV time?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm so over this Punk-Shield feud.

And another ADR-Rey match? Can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Are you from the future? My feed is obviously off even though it started at the top of the hour.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Distracted Roll-Up! THE Most Devastating Move In This Business!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. It's a little strange. My feed started at 7:58 instead of 8:00, so I might be two minutes ahead. I'll delay my comments!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Where are the rest of you on this blog? Do you not love Smackdown! and rematches from RAW?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:12 PM

    I'm here....and indifferent.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ha, fair enough. My "RAW Exclusive" via Sky Sports is the Big Show-Swagger match, ugh #2.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That has to be the most beat into the ground finish over the last 5 years.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The blog has been too busy reading my electrifying review of the September 28th, 1985 edition of WWF Championship Wrestling!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:14 PM

They love that match in the UK. It's all over the interwebs.

I just made that up as a possible excuse for them to air it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:15 PM

Nice. They equally raved about my TCW Episode 14-2 Review posted 2 days ago. I'm still getting fan mail.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I would watch more of those episodes you post, but it is always hard for me to get into a new promotion since you don't really know the feuds, personalities, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:17 PM

I went in blind also. I don't know any backstories, but I've been living in the now, baby. It's solid in-ring work, and the occasional appearance by an established past star.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm still laughing at whoever made the comment in the RAW thread about how Big Show's wacky wind up for his punch of Zeb makes him the perfect challenger for Lesnar that we should take seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Heyman is so great on the mic.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I might reach double digits in Twitter followers by the weekend if this keeps up

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey I gave you a push, its not my fault you failed to capitalize on it and get over

    ReplyDelete
  30. I did OVW recaps when it was a WWE developmental territory in 2005-2006, but it was easier for me to get into because there were a few guys that I recognized. Got to see Elijah Burke, CM Punk, Miz, and Cody in their younger years, too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:19 PM

That was me, I believe. He wound up like Popeye.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Seriously, if the wwe books anything other then show jobbing cleanly to brock in 12, they are nuts

    ReplyDelete
  33. Is it just me or have all of Alberto del Rio's feuds/promos been the same for what seems like forever?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Watching Youtube before bed, no, and no.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:21 PM

    It's all about the dessssstiny.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 12 seconds? That seems a bit unnecessary.

Oh and hey Big Shows acknowledging his prior history with Paul E.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The BoD GM gives and stalls the pushes 'round here. He has just informed me that you will now be jobbing to Nick Saikley in the next Tommy Hall WCW thread in order to humble you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I thought he meant rounds... I went to see if they were both in a sequel to a shitty movie.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Eva Maria earning her paycheque with that one!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ha!

Sorry man, I'm not on Twitter. I do love your recaps of the 80s WWF shows. I just never have much to say. The shows are fairly straightforward, full of squashes, and we already know how they turn out. It's still a fun trip down memory lane, especially when you recap something I haven't seen since I was 12 years old.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Like I would be caught dead in a WCW thread. Creative control brother!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:22 PM

It was that promo I cut about the Jews holding me back, wasn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  43. ROFL @ JBL's comment to the Miz about being relevant.

    ReplyDelete
  44. They've already made a sequel to that one.

    Trilogy of Shit it is!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Damn I need to hire a better shitty joke research team

    ReplyDelete
  46. So I guess will find a TV channel to watch this on... semi related cool hing happened today, the makers of a name bran HDTV indoor antenna reached out to me to see if I wanted to get one for free with the purpose of reviewing on my site!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hire Maryse back and let her and Miz be the most naturally awful asshole heels that have ever been.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Can i back Stan Ford and mick for upper mid card pushes? I think i can get behind this new rob guy also. He's going to work in another thread

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm quite interested in why Maryse is even attracted to the Miz.

But yeah, that idea would work for me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Maryse is fun to look at... and has a naturally bitchy appearance which I find hot (though that has worked out pretty poorly for me IRL)

    ReplyDelete
  51. That review might reach the 400 page hit plateau if this blog keeps it up!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:26 PM

Did you respond positively to that? Free gear is pretty sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Miz pulled tons of ass when he was on The Real World IIRC

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yes I did. Honestly the fact that they think my site is worth that was better than the free stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  55. They must prove themselves against Brian Gutan & Ian Austin first in the next Place to be Nation website plug thread

    ReplyDelete
  56. That's cool. I remember when I reviewed things on another site years ago that I got a free copy of the Ultimate Warrior's shoot interview that was autographed.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:28 PM

Ha! I remember running an internet radio station. I remember getting one comment from one person that they really liked it. Made my day, really.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah, it's always good to know people like/appreciate your work.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I can relate. I have tried several internet ventures over the years (this being the most successful) and I remember getting excited about stuff like that

    ReplyDelete
  60. Don't forget him blubbering because Stephanie was mean to him. Seems like the type of toughness you need when facing Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  61. So what exactly is the motivation for this match? Rollup of doom finish #2!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oh god ADR's going to do the Sid Justice/Hulk Hogan spot with Batista at the Rumble isn't he?

That's the only way i see Batista not winning this year.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I don't know that they could get 2 wrestlers I like less in a match than Mysterio/ADR

    ReplyDelete
  64. Never thought I'd hear Right Said Fred referenced on Smackdown

    ReplyDelete
  65. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:31 PM

Is that future Scisco talking? I'm watching live on SyFy and hey hit a break in the match.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Kwee-Wee vs Evad Sullivan

    ReplyDelete
  67. Geez. Why/how am I so far ahead?

    ReplyDelete
  68. That's how I feel with the Ryback/Axel team.

    Feed me snores!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:32 PM

I've been waiting 22 years for that!

    ReplyDelete
  70. "What is CM Punk thinking about?"

What Diva he is going to nail like a board tonight?

(Bayless see what I did there?)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Funny to see "Sunday Night Football" in the UK is soccer. Not that it's surprising, but just funny.

    ReplyDelete
  72. They are not too sexy for Smackdown

    ReplyDelete
  73. Damn DeLorean fucked up again, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  74. You live in Europe? I mean that is the only way you could be seeing European commercials right?

    ReplyDelete
  75. No. However, my stream of the show is from Sky Sports in the UK.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I wonder which of the 4 major teams will win the EPL title this year!

    FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!!!

Seriously how do those Brit-Bongs get excited over that shit if they're not a fan of the top 4 franchises?

    ReplyDelete
  77. No idea. I can't stand to watch soccer if it's not national teams playing and even then its a chore.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Sure, but they dont seem big enough to be in the BoD Rumble yet, brother.

    ReplyDelete
  79. It'd be funnier if it was cricket...

    ReplyDelete
  80. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:36 PM

So has Mysterio done so many 'roids that his voice is really like that? I mean, when he's talking to his kids about not smoking, or not drinking, does he sound like that?

    ReplyDelete
  81. What a kickout!

    Riveting colour commentary there Miz.

    ReplyDelete
  82. He doesn't have kids remember, he lost custody to Eddie

    ReplyDelete
  83. It blew my mind when I found out that for the Australian version of the PS2 there were a few cricket games made.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:37 PM

Did Eddie will them to Vickie? Because I think she ate them.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So, who IS watching Dominic then?

    ReplyDelete
  86. DAMN IT VICKIE!!!

    WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?

Greatest in-ring meltdown or bestest in-ring meltdown?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Dominic just towers over his dad from what I've heard.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:38 PM

And Del Rio is booked STRONG for the inevitable match with Batista.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Rey is like 5'1". I am 5'4" and i am way taller than him

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm not a Mysterio fan, but he has been a lot better since he's came back.

    ReplyDelete
  91. 90% of males in High School tower of Rey

    ReplyDelete
  92. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:40 PM

    Do you like tall chicks?

    ReplyDelete
  93. I keep waiting for Rey to have an amazing match since his return. I may have to come to terms he doesn't have that in him anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm just going to respond to other comments because I'm evidently 5 minutes or so ahead of everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Eh it just depends. Both wives have been the same height as me... I think 5'8" was the tallest I have dated... of course the correct answer is "They are all the same height lying down"

    ReplyDelete
  96. Has Rey had an AMAZING match in his entire WWE career?

4 Snowflakes plus amazing i mean.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I seriously think the Wyatt theme would be could dentist chair music it is so mellow

    ReplyDelete
  98. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:42 PM

Pretty sure one of his matches with Jericho in 09 hit pretty high.

    ReplyDelete
  99. And I learn something new tonight. I wonder if I'm near the tallest poster on here. 6'2" here.

    ReplyDelete
  100. OMG YOU CAN SEE THE FUTURE

    ReplyDelete
  101. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:43 PM

He carried a briefcase with a brick in it all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I am 5'10 and 170lbs, brother!

    ReplyDelete
  103. Haha, Bray was beaten for not computing tax forms properly.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Listening to that while getting the nitrous could be soothing.

    ReplyDelete
  105. How long until Batista tears a muscle?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Maybe when he first came in. The matches with Angle were pretty ace.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Well done. I am in the process of trying to put on some mass so I am around 145 as opposed to my usual 130 - 135

    ReplyDelete
  108. Not that short... I would have pegged you at 5'9" up.

    ReplyDelete
  109. So does anyone think the WWE could try to recreate Bryan-AJ like Savage-Elizabeth in a few years?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Actually it has always bothered other people more than it has bothered me

    ReplyDelete
  111. I'm amazed no one's made that a QOTD yet.

    ReplyDelete
  112. The Jericho feud, his match with Morrison, and I think there were some tag matches in 2002 you may have heard of.

    ReplyDelete
  113. It would work. But they'd be way too over and might overshadow another power couple who clearly wouldn't like that.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I don' think so. AJ has too much personality for it to really work right

    ReplyDelete
  115. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:46 PM

I think it's "private time" for a few posters here. AJ is here.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Nah, because until AJ agrees to appear on their stupid reality show, they're not going to get behind her as a babyface.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Or which female is going to suck him like a vacuum.
I might have taken that too far

    ReplyDelete
  118. He won the ladder match to win custody of Dominic.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Vickie and Maddux have that kind of pull?

    ReplyDelete
  120. There's this strange tension in Punk-Renee Young interviews.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Captain of the Varsity Club AND captain of a ship!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Ah. Its almost like that angle was too fucking stupid for me to remember stuff like that.

    ReplyDelete
  123. They could do it monday night with no build-up and they'd blow the roof off the place.

    ReplyDelete
  124. "How long until I can nail her?"
"How long before he tries to nail me?"

    ReplyDelete
  125. WHAT? The Distracted rollup didn't lead to a pin in a Divas match? What kind of world are we in?

    ReplyDelete
  126. "Will AJ find out we nailed each other?"

    ReplyDelete
  127. Stevie Richards carried those.

    ReplyDelete
  128. "AJ definitely sucks my..."

    **BLEEP**

    "... like a vacuum."

    ReplyDelete
  129. Perhaps, but I don't think it would work as a long storyline... but you are right, that would be an amazing pop... and this board would explode

    ReplyDelete
  130. When you get 'kicked in the back of the neck' [/Cole], you're supposed to fall FORWARD, not backward.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Rumble '08 with Edge was good. His tag bouts during 2002 were good when he teamed with Edge.

    ReplyDelete
  132. 5'5" here. On the plus side I'm about Davey Richards' size. Not his build. Jesus he's yoked.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Since Beth Phoenix left the powers of the fruit rollup have been greatly diminished.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Never under estimate the power of an audit

    ReplyDelete
  135. AJ completely stole the skip to the ring from Mickey James.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Prove it.
    ~Arlen Specter

    ReplyDelete
  137. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:50 PM

There was a second kicker....behind the bushes on the grassy knoll.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Oh, just for shits and giggles, how I would book WrestleMania:

    Cena vs Undertaker
Brock vs Batista WWE World Title Match
    Bryan vs HBK
    Punk vs HHH
    or do a tag match.
Those matches would do some damn good business.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I thought Maryse and Miz were already married?

    ReplyDelete
  140. "Who are two women I'd bang all night?"

    ReplyDelete
  141. OH SHIT! I think Tamina just killed Naomi.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Good card... but at this point I think any card that doesn't end with Bryan holding a title screaming yes in front of 80k fans has been a waste of 2 years

    ReplyDelete
  143. Next month. I follow her on Instagram you know for research purposes.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Ok, I'm apparently 5 minutes ahead of you. I'm confused.

    ReplyDelete
  145. You are a student of the game (not HHH)

    ReplyDelete
  146. AJ is a 50/50 mix between Mickie and Victoria.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Hahaha, now all our feeds are off!

    ReplyDelete
  148. We are cruiserweights

    ReplyDelete
  149. Like father,like daughter i suppose.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I have no idea why they job Tamina so much in the division.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I'd actually be in favor of HHH (c) vs. Daniel Bryan for the belt and Bryan winning it by taking out the man that started all of his problems at Summerslam.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Who's she the daughter of again?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:54 PM

Other than AJ, is there really any Diva that DOESN'T job?

    ReplyDelete
  154. Upsets, hope for some bored oligarch to buy the club, the FA Cup, the nerve-racking threat of relegation/the thrill of moving up.

    ReplyDelete
  155. In a weird way, it was longer than Randy Savage's tribute.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Everyone jobs except AJ in title matches

    ReplyDelete
  157. Well Bryan beating Shawn would be solid BUT a good alternate could be Bryan winning the Rumble. Brock winning the title at EC. Then Bryan vs Brock at Mania in an amazing big man vs little man match where Bryan won't die and just barely gets the win.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Huh. When I lived in the UK it was Monday Night Football. I'm sure that's still around as well.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Vince McMahon's feelings toward the deceased is MUCH more important than their actual contribution to the wrestling world as a whole.

    ReplyDelete
  160. *cough50/50bookingcough*

    ReplyDelete
  161. You must prove yourself in the BoD Royal Rumble

    ReplyDelete
  162. As much as I want a DBry title reign (and one that lasts a while), I'd be cool with him v Taker or Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  163. So when Vince dies do we have a tribute that runs the entire show?

    ReplyDelete
  164. Semi-honestly? Gauntlet this shit, HBK, Brock, then HHH. They have the hours to fill

    ReplyDelete
  165. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:56 PM

Every time I see a Network promo, I think more and more that something is going to backfire with this thing. I'm still signing up for it, but for some reason I feel like the plug will be pulled.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Hell yeah. Brock v Bryan would be a kickass, stiff-as-fuck, capsule of supreme awesomeness.

    ReplyDelete
  167. AJ jobs a lot too in tag and non-title matches. It's all that 50/50 booking crap.

    ReplyDelete
  168. No worries at all. The show I recapped was so dull that there was literally nothing at all to comment on.
I am just poking fun at myself with the Twitter stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Dear WWE Network:

Please take pre-orders. I am clutching my AmEx and it hurts.

    Best in sports,

    Biscuit

    ReplyDelete
  170. I'm still skeptical they are going to get the number of subscribers needed to make it viable, but I hope it works for other cable mediums.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Comes down to Mania, if it crashes to high hell, going to be hard to salvage, other than that I have trouble seeing it not work

    ReplyDelete
  172. Excellent Mae Young tribute... has anyone ever been in the business that long?

    ReplyDelete
  173. Something I'm wondering about the WWE Network, will I be able to watch it on my XBox 360 right away? Will the app for it be available to download on the 360 on the 24th or am I going to have to wait for when Microsoft decides to add it?

    ReplyDelete
  174. Well she was part of the business a lot longer than Randy... and like anyone else that has ever been part of it

    ReplyDelete
  175. For real. I'd sign up now and just take whatever content they have up now. They can add to it later.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Yes it was. Even with the sillier stuff it was still very sweet and touching.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 17, 2014 at 6:58 PM

I think it's a "too good to be true" thing. It's 10 bucks a month! Something's gotta give there.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Hey hey, they've announced you can get it on a laptop AND a desktop. Don't get greedy.

    ReplyDelete
  179. The powerbomb from the Dudleys still boggles my mind... how the fuck does Bubba agree to that?

    ReplyDelete
