I would watch more of those episodes you post, but it is always hard for me to get into a new promotion since you don't really know the feuds, personalities, etc.
I went in blind also. I don't know any backstories, but I've been living in the now, baby. It's solid in-ring work, and the occasional appearance by an established past star.
I'm still laughing at whoever made the comment in the RAW thread about how Big Show's wacky wind up for his punch of Zeb makes him the perfect challenger for Lesnar that we should take seriously.
I did OVW recaps when it was a WWE developmental territory in 2005-2006, but it was easier for me to get into because there were a few guys that I recognized. Got to see Elijah Burke, CM Punk, Miz, and Cody in their younger years, too.
The BoD GM gives and stalls the pushes 'round here. He has just informed me that you will now be jobbing to Nick Saikley in the next Tommy Hall WCW thread in order to humble you.
Sorry man, I'm not on Twitter. I do love your recaps of the 80s WWF shows. I just never have much to say. The shows are fairly straightforward, full of squashes, and we already know how they turn out. It's still a fun trip down memory lane, especially when you recap something I haven't seen since I was 12 years old.
So I guess will find a TV channel to watch this on... semi related cool hing happened today, the makers of a name bran HDTV indoor antenna reached out to me to see if I wanted to get one for free with the purpose of reviewing on my site!
That's cool. I remember when I reviewed things on another site years ago that I got a free copy of the Ultimate Warrior's shoot interview that was autographed.
I can relate. I have tried several internet ventures over the years (this being the most successful) and I remember getting excited about stuff like that
So has Mysterio done so many 'roids that his voice is really like that? I mean, when he's talking to his kids about not smoking, or not drinking, does he sound like that?
Eh it just depends. Both wives have been the same height as me... I think 5'8" was the tallest I have dated... of course the correct answer is "They are all the same height lying down"
Good card... but at this point I think any card that doesn't end with Bryan holding a title screaming yes in front of 80k fans has been a waste of 2 years
I'd actually be in favor of HHH (c) vs. Daniel Bryan for the belt and Bryan winning it by taking out the man that started all of his problems at Summerslam.
Well Bryan beating Shawn would be solid BUT a good alternate could be Bryan winning the Rumble. Brock winning the title at EC. Then Bryan vs Brock at Mania in an amazing big man vs little man match where Bryan won't die and just barely gets the win.
Every time I see a Network promo, I think more and more that something is going to backfire with this thing. I'm still signing up for it, but for some reason I feel like the plug will be pulled.
No worries at all. The show I recapped was so dull that there was literally nothing at all to comment on. I am just poking fun at myself with the Twitter stuff.
Something I'm wondering about the WWE Network, will I be able to watch it on my XBox 360 right away? Will the app for it be available to download on the 360 on the 24th or am I going to have to wait for when Microsoft decides to add it?
There's nothing fun about the neutered New Age Outlaws.
ReplyDeleteThe Miz? Fuck this!
ReplyDeleteEh, I'm willing to give him a shot, but let's just say I'm not optimistic.
ReplyDeleteThis match is like going back in time with the exception of Cody. It's like 1999 all over again.
ReplyDeleteSomeone let the Outlaws know they're now heels. Oh wait this is all they've got!
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad seeing the old guy wrestle with shirts on. I mean it's just pathetic.
ReplyDeleteGoldust was long gone by '99.
ReplyDeleteWell, he was IC champ in April before losing it to the Godfather!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm so when was he Se7en again?
ReplyDeleteNo idea, but that might've been late 1999.
ReplyDeleteUgh. PLEASE get rid of authority figures!
ReplyDeleteHow else is Steph supposed to get TV time?
ReplyDeleteI'm so over this Punk-Shield feud.
ReplyDeleteAnd another ADR-Rey match? Can't wait!
Are you from the future? My feed is obviously off even though it started at the top of the hour.
ReplyDeleteDistracted Roll-Up! THE Most Devastating Move In This Business!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a little strange. My feed started at 7:58 instead of 8:00, so I might be two minutes ahead. I'll delay my comments!
ReplyDeleteWhere are the rest of you on this blog? Do you not love Smackdown! and rematches from RAW?
ReplyDeleteI'm here....and indifferent.
ReplyDeleteHa, fair enough. My "RAW Exclusive" via Sky Sports is the Big Show-Swagger match, ugh #2.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be the most beat into the ground finish over the last 5 years.
ReplyDeleteThe blog has been too busy reading my electrifying review of the September 28th, 1985 edition of WWF Championship Wrestling!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey love that match in the UK. It's all over the interwebs.
ReplyDeleteI just made that up as a possible excuse for them to air it.
Nice. They equally raved about my TCW Episode 14-2 Review posted 2 days ago. I'm still getting fan mail.
ReplyDeleteI would watch more of those episodes you post, but it is always hard for me to get into a new promotion since you don't really know the feuds, personalities, etc.
ReplyDeleteI read it!
ReplyDeleteI went in blind also. I don't know any backstories, but I've been living in the now, baby. It's solid in-ring work, and the occasional appearance by an established past star.
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing at whoever made the comment in the RAW thread about how Big Show's wacky wind up for his punch of Zeb makes him the perfect challenger for Lesnar that we should take seriously.
ReplyDeleteHeyman is so great on the mic.
ReplyDeleteI might reach double digits in Twitter followers by the weekend if this keeps up
ReplyDeleteHey I gave you a push, its not my fault you failed to capitalize on it and get over
ReplyDeleteI did OVW recaps when it was a WWE developmental territory in 2005-2006, but it was easier for me to get into because there were a few guys that I recognized. Got to see Elijah Burke, CM Punk, Miz, and Cody in their younger years, too.
ReplyDeleteThat was me, I believe. He wound up like Popeye.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if the wwe books anything other then show jobbing cleanly to brock in 12, they are nuts
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or have all of Alberto del Rio's feuds/promos been the same for what seems like forever?
ReplyDeleteWatching Youtube before bed, no, and no.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the dessssstiny.
ReplyDelete12 seconds? That seems a bit unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteOh and hey Big Shows acknowledging his prior history with Paul E.
The BoD GM gives and stalls the pushes 'round here. He has just informed me that you will now be jobbing to Nick Saikley in the next Tommy Hall WCW thread in order to humble you.
ReplyDeleteI thought he meant rounds... I went to see if they were both in a sequel to a shitty movie.
ReplyDeleteEva Maria earning her paycheque with that one!
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteSorry man, I'm not on Twitter. I do love your recaps of the 80s WWF shows. I just never have much to say. The shows are fairly straightforward, full of squashes, and we already know how they turn out. It's still a fun trip down memory lane, especially when you recap something I haven't seen since I was 12 years old.
Like I would be caught dead in a WCW thread. Creative control brother!
ReplyDeleteIt was that promo I cut about the Jews holding me back, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteROFL @ JBL's comment to the Miz about being relevant.
ReplyDeleteThey've already made a sequel to that one.
ReplyDeleteTrilogy of Shit it is!
Damn I need to hire a better shitty joke research team
ReplyDeleteSo I guess will find a TV channel to watch this on... semi related cool hing happened today, the makers of a name bran HDTV indoor antenna reached out to me to see if I wanted to get one for free with the purpose of reviewing on my site!
ReplyDeleteHire Maryse back and let her and Miz be the most naturally awful asshole heels that have ever been.
ReplyDeleteCan i back Stan Ford and mick for upper mid card pushes? I think i can get behind this new rob guy also. He's going to work in another thread
ReplyDeleteI'm quite interested in why Maryse is even attracted to the Miz.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, that idea would work for me.
Maryse is fun to look at... and has a naturally bitchy appearance which I find hot (though that has worked out pretty poorly for me IRL)
ReplyDeleteThat review might reach the 400 page hit plateau if this blog keeps it up!
ReplyDeleteDid you respond positively to that? Free gear is pretty sweet.
ReplyDeleteMiz pulled tons of ass when he was on The Real World IIRC
ReplyDeleteJust amazing.
ReplyDeleteYes I did. Honestly the fact that they think my site is worth that was better than the free stuff.
ReplyDeleteThey must prove themselves against Brian Gutan & Ian Austin first in the next Place to be Nation website plug thread
ReplyDeleteThat's cool. I remember when I reviewed things on another site years ago that I got a free copy of the Ultimate Warrior's shoot interview that was autographed.
ReplyDeleteHa! I remember running an internet radio station. I remember getting one comment from one person that they really liked it. Made my day, really.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's always good to know people like/appreciate your work.
ReplyDeleteI can relate. I have tried several internet ventures over the years (this being the most successful) and I remember getting excited about stuff like that
ReplyDeleteDon't forget him blubbering because Stephanie was mean to him. Seems like the type of toughness you need when facing Lesnar.
ReplyDeleteSo what exactly is the motivation for this match? Rollup of doom finish #2!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh god ADR's going to do the Sid Justice/Hulk Hogan spot with Batista at the Rumble isn't he?
ReplyDeleteThat's the only way i see Batista not winning this year.
I don't know that they could get 2 wrestlers I like less in a match than Mysterio/ADR
ReplyDeleteNever thought I'd hear Right Said Fred referenced on Smackdown
ReplyDeleteIs that future Scisco talking? I'm watching live on SyFy and hey hit a break in the match.
ReplyDeleteKwee-Wee vs Evad Sullivan
ReplyDeleteGeez. Why/how am I so far ahead?
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel with the Ryback/Axel team.
ReplyDeleteFeed me snores!
I've been waiting 22 years for that!
ReplyDelete"What is CM Punk thinking about?"
ReplyDeleteWhat Diva he is going to nail like a board tonight?
(Bayless see what I did there?)
Funny to see "Sunday Night Football" in the UK is soccer. Not that it's surprising, but just funny.
ReplyDeleteThey are not too sexy for Smackdown
ReplyDeleteDamn DeLorean fucked up again, I guess.
ReplyDeleteYou live in Europe? I mean that is the only way you could be seeing European commercials right?
ReplyDeleteNo. However, my stream of the show is from Sky Sports in the UK.
ReplyDeleteThat... was... the joke...
ReplyDeleteOh...
ReplyDeleteI wonder which of the 4 major teams will win the EPL title this year!
ReplyDeleteFEEL THE EXCITEMENT!!!
Seriously how do those Brit-Bongs get excited over that shit if they're not a fan of the top 4 franchises?
MAN U!!!
ReplyDeleteNo idea. I can't stand to watch soccer if it's not national teams playing and even then its a chore.
ReplyDelete:: Taps Mic :: IS THIS THING ON?
ReplyDeleteSure, but they dont seem big enough to be in the BoD Rumble yet, brother.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be funnier if it was cricket...
ReplyDeleteSo has Mysterio done so many 'roids that his voice is really like that? I mean, when he's talking to his kids about not smoking, or not drinking, does he sound like that?
ReplyDeleteWhat a kickout!
ReplyDeleteRiveting colour commentary there Miz.
He doesn't have kids remember, he lost custody to Eddie
ReplyDeleteIt blew my mind when I found out that for the Australian version of the PS2 there were a few cricket games made.
ReplyDeleteDid Eddie will them to Vickie? Because I think she ate them.
ReplyDeleteSo, who IS watching Dominic then?
ReplyDeleteDAMN IT VICKIE!!!
ReplyDeleteWHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?
Greatest in-ring meltdown or bestest in-ring meltdown?
Dominic just towers over his dad from what I've heard.
ReplyDeleteEddie's corpse? Deaddie Guerrero?
ReplyDelete50/50 Babee!
ReplyDeleteAnd Del Rio is booked STRONG for the inevitable match with Batista.
ReplyDeleteRey is like 5'1". I am 5'4" and i am way taller than him
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Mysterio fan, but he has been a lot better since he's came back.
ReplyDelete90% of males in High School tower of Rey
ReplyDeleteDo you like tall chicks?
ReplyDeleteI keep waiting for Rey to have an amazing match since his return. I may have to come to terms he doesn't have that in him anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to respond to other comments because I'm evidently 5 minutes or so ahead of everyone else.
ReplyDeleteEh it just depends. Both wives have been the same height as me... I think 5'8" was the tallest I have dated... of course the correct answer is "They are all the same height lying down"
ReplyDeleteHas Rey had an AMAZING match in his entire WWE career?
ReplyDelete4 Snowflakes plus amazing i mean.
I seriously think the Wyatt theme would be could dentist chair music it is so mellow
ReplyDeletePretty sure one of his matches with Jericho in 09 hit pretty high.
ReplyDeleteAnd I learn something new tonight. I wonder if I'm near the tallest poster on here. 6'2" here.
ReplyDeleteIRS was powerful?
ReplyDeleteOMG YOU CAN SEE THE FUTURE
ReplyDeleteHe carried a briefcase with a brick in it all the time.
ReplyDeleteI am 5'10 and 170lbs, brother!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Bray was beaten for not computing tax forms properly.
ReplyDeleteDidn't figure me for short?
ReplyDeleteListening to that while getting the nitrous could be soothing.
ReplyDeleteHow long until Batista tears a muscle?
ReplyDeleteThe Rumble.
ReplyDeleteMaybe when he first came in. The matches with Angle were pretty ace.
ReplyDeleteWell done. I am in the process of trying to put on some mass so I am around 145 as opposed to my usual 130 - 135
ReplyDeleteNot that short... I would have pegged you at 5'9" up.
ReplyDeleteI wish
ReplyDeleteSo does anyone think the WWE could try to recreate Bryan-AJ like Savage-Elizabeth in a few years?
ReplyDeleteActually it has always bothered other people more than it has bothered me
ReplyDelete5'8, 209 for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed no one's made that a QOTD yet.
ReplyDeleteThe Jericho feud, his match with Morrison, and I think there were some tag matches in 2002 you may have heard of.
ReplyDeleteIt would work. But they'd be way too over and might overshadow another power couple who clearly wouldn't like that.
ReplyDeleteI don' think so. AJ has too much personality for it to really work right
ReplyDeleteI think it's "private time" for a few posters here. AJ is here.
ReplyDeleteNah, because until AJ agrees to appear on their stupid reality show, they're not going to get behind her as a babyface.
ReplyDeleteOr which female is going to suck him like a vacuum.
ReplyDeleteI might have taken that too far
Aksana and I are fine with it.
ReplyDeleteHe won the ladder match to win custody of Dominic.
ReplyDeleteVickie and Maddux have that kind of pull?
ReplyDeleteThere's this strange tension in Punk-Renee Young interviews.
ReplyDeleteCaptain of the Varsity Club AND captain of a ship!
ReplyDeleteThat botch was scary as shit
ReplyDeleteAh. Its almost like that angle was too fucking stupid for me to remember stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteThey could do it monday night with no build-up and they'd blow the roof off the place.
ReplyDelete"How long until I can nail her?"
ReplyDelete"How long before he tries to nail me?"
You did not
ReplyDeleteWHAT? The Distracted rollup didn't lead to a pin in a Divas match? What kind of world are we in?
ReplyDelete"Will AJ find out we nailed each other?"
ReplyDeleteStevie Richards carried those.
ReplyDelete"AJ definitely sucks my..."
ReplyDelete**BLEEP**
"... like a vacuum."
Perhaps, but I don't think it would work as a long storyline... but you are right, that would be an amazing pop... and this board would explode
ReplyDeleteWhen you get 'kicked in the back of the neck' [/Cole], you're supposed to fall FORWARD, not backward.
ReplyDeleteRumble '08 with Edge was good. His tag bouts during 2002 were good when he teamed with Edge.
ReplyDelete5'5" here. On the plus side I'm about Davey Richards' size. Not his build. Jesus he's yoked.
ReplyDeleteSince Beth Phoenix left the powers of the fruit rollup have been greatly diminished.
ReplyDeleteNever under estimate the power of an audit
ReplyDeleteAJ completely stole the skip to the ring from Mickey James.
ReplyDeleteProve it.
ReplyDelete~Arlen Specter
There was a second kicker....behind the bushes on the grassy knoll.
ReplyDeleteOh, just for shits and giggles, how I would book WrestleMania:
ReplyDeleteCena vs Undertaker
Brock vs Batista WWE World Title Match
Bryan vs HBK
Punk vs HHH
or do a tag match.
Those matches would do some damn good business.
I thought Maryse and Miz were already married?
ReplyDelete"Who are two women I'd bang all night?"
ReplyDeleteOH SHIT! I think Tamina just killed Naomi.
ReplyDeleteGood card... but at this point I think any card that doesn't end with Bryan holding a title screaming yes in front of 80k fans has been a waste of 2 years
ReplyDeleteNext month. I follow her on Instagram you know for research purposes.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm apparently 5 minutes ahead of you. I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteYou are a student of the game (not HHH)
ReplyDeleteAJ is a 50/50 mix between Mickie and Victoria.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, now all our feeds are off!
ReplyDeleteNice tribute to Mae.
ReplyDeleteWe are cruiserweights
ReplyDeleteLike father,like daughter i suppose.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why they job Tamina so much in the division.
ReplyDeleteI'd actually be in favor of HHH (c) vs. Daniel Bryan for the belt and Bryan winning it by taking out the man that started all of his problems at Summerslam.
ReplyDeleteWho's she the daughter of again?
ReplyDeleteOther than AJ, is there really any Diva that DOESN'T job?
ReplyDeleteUpsets, hope for some bored oligarch to buy the club, the FA Cup, the nerve-racking threat of relegation/the thrill of moving up.
ReplyDeleteIn a weird way, it was longer than Randy Savage's tribute.
ReplyDeleteEveryone jobs except AJ in title matches
ReplyDeleteWell Bryan beating Shawn would be solid BUT a good alternate could be Bryan winning the Rumble. Brock winning the title at EC. Then Bryan vs Brock at Mania in an amazing big man vs little man match where Bryan won't die and just barely gets the win.
ReplyDeleteHuh. When I lived in the UK it was Monday Night Football. I'm sure that's still around as well.
ReplyDeleteVince McMahon's feelings toward the deceased is MUCH more important than their actual contribution to the wrestling world as a whole.
ReplyDelete*cough50/50bookingcough*
ReplyDeleteYou must prove yourself in the BoD Royal Rumble
ReplyDeleteAs much as I want a DBry title reign (and one that lasts a while), I'd be cool with him v Taker or Brock.
ReplyDeleteSo when Vince dies do we have a tribute that runs the entire show?
ReplyDeleteSemi-honestly? Gauntlet this shit, HBK, Brock, then HHH. They have the hours to fill
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see a Network promo, I think more and more that something is going to backfire with this thing. I'm still signing up for it, but for some reason I feel like the plug will be pulled.
ReplyDeleteHell yeah. Brock v Bryan would be a kickass, stiff-as-fuck, capsule of supreme awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteAJ jobs a lot too in tag and non-title matches. It's all that 50/50 booking crap.
ReplyDeleteNo worries at all. The show I recapped was so dull that there was literally nothing at all to comment on.
ReplyDeleteI am just poking fun at myself with the Twitter stuff.
Dear WWE Network:
ReplyDeletePlease take pre-orders. I am clutching my AmEx and it hurts.
Best in sports,
Biscuit
I'm still skeptical they are going to get the number of subscribers needed to make it viable, but I hope it works for other cable mediums.
ReplyDeleteComes down to Mania, if it crashes to high hell, going to be hard to salvage, other than that I have trouble seeing it not work
ReplyDeleteExcellent Mae Young tribute... has anyone ever been in the business that long?
ReplyDeleteSomething I'm wondering about the WWE Network, will I be able to watch it on my XBox 360 right away? Will the app for it be available to download on the 360 on the 24th or am I going to have to wait for when Microsoft decides to add it?
ReplyDeleteSome cocaine vacuum.
ReplyDeleteWell she was part of the business a lot longer than Randy... and like anyone else that has ever been part of it
ReplyDeleteFor real. I'd sign up now and just take whatever content they have up now. They can add to it later.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't narrow it down much
ReplyDeleteYes it was. Even with the sillier stuff it was still very sweet and touching.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a "too good to be true" thing. It's 10 bucks a month! Something's gotta give there.
ReplyDeleteHey hey, they've announced you can get it on a laptop AND a desktop. Don't get greedy.
ReplyDeleteHer mother.
ReplyDeleteThe powerbomb from the Dudleys still boggles my mind... how the fuck does Bubba agree to that?
ReplyDelete
