WWE Talent Told to Come up With Names For Their Finishing Moves

There is a push for everyone in the WWE to come up with names for their finishers. Apparently, Daniel Bryan came up with the name "knee plus" for his finishing move months ago but no one in the company has used that on television. Even still, they are asking wrestlers to come up with names.

  1. Dude, the bull hammer rocks. Barrett's certainly making it work AND in short order. The crowd's already getting behind it.

  2. Oh shit...can you imagine Punk fans' reaction to calling it that?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yeah it's not legal and it's kind of stupid because how is paying for that really any different than paying for cable/satellite?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Cause you look like youve seen better days!

    Your mom, fuckhead.

  6. Scott, time to break out the banhammer!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Only for him to come back with another ip, but thats enough for today!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Seriously dude, go back to 411. This is a troll free zone.

    ReplyDelete
  9. What's not cool was Verne not capitalizing on that appearence by putting the belt on him immediately after that appearence. How stupid do you have to be to look at that appearence (name one other AWA guy that ever got an interview with Johnny freaking Carson) and think "Eh, I'm still not sold on him getting the belt, let's 50/50 him until we run him out of here"?

  10. DirecTV still doesn't have the balls to carry Epix so fuck them.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Is that for Prime or is that just HBO GO being available on the new Kindle Fire TV box? I have both HBO GO through a Dish Network subscription and Amazon Prime (mainly for free shipping but they do have the entire run of Veronica Mars so that's a plus), I'm curious as to what the deal is so I don't feel like I'm wasting money on one or both.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm not entirely clear on what your question is asking, so I'll just throw out what I know-

You need the cable subscription for HBO, or you need access to someone else's- I use my parents HBO account to setup hbo go on my Roku box. as you're aware, Go has most every you'd want from HBO, outside of some comedy specials.

Amazon Prime recently reached a deal for some of the older HBO content for their streaming deal. it's not as extensive- no Game of Thrones or Veep or True Detective right now- but it'll get you the completed big names, like The Wire and Sopranos.

I honestly think Amazon Prime is the best value streaming service, and that's before the free shipping comes into play. If you don't mind being a season back, you can keep up on Justified, The Americans and all that good stuff there.

  13. I'm sure he's already been booted, the posts come up as Guest.

And this isn't his first banning, either. He made a post in another thread similar to another quick-booted poster.

  14. Savage's outfit with the red/black colour scheme and the RAW logo was incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That's a good deal for Amazon, especially if Arli$$, Dream On and Tales From The Crypt are added to the deal.

    ReplyDelete
  16. www.wiziwig.tv - then download Acestream.

    Done.

  17. Another TJ: Meltzer is saying Styles is a shoe in to take the IWGP title from Okada this weekend, which would make him the first gaijin champ since Brock Lesnar from 2005.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Looks like they did, sadly.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Steve Corino just called Tajiri a little slant eyed bastard. The HHH/Booker T angle said that was too racist.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That makes the ROH/New Japan show so much less interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh yeah, seen that one. At least they're consistent in their overkill.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I remember the back of the Apter Mags used to have ads for "Slant Eyed Slaughter" VHS tapes. Interesting times, those 80s and 90s.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Except Austin winning KOTR was a last minute fix, his promo got him over... and then he jobbed until January, but got over because he was such a great promo.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Depends. Bryan was so good he smashed through the glass ceiling. Punk too, Mysterio as well.

    ReplyDelete
  25. LOL... I can't catch a break on here today

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ok, good to know in case it comes up during a bar trivia game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I thought the same thing about Jeff Jarrett's finisher (The STroke?). I always thought someone was doing a move on him.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Forgot about this part. Was Superstars still the main show or was that Raw at this point?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Big E using the Bossman Slam, especially if he added a 180 turn to it, would be solid. It's a good finisher because it can also be used anytime as a counter. The beauty of a good finisher is it can happen at anytime.

make sure you check out the penis plex. i forget who suplexes who, but when flair and nikita land, nikita's koloff pops out, and tommy young sticks it back in

  31. Your_Favourite_LoserApril 26, 2014 at 4:03 PM

i still say taker now needs 2 more matches so they can end in draws

    ReplyDelete
  32. So, I have to ask......where does the OP live where an antenna doesnt work?

I have that problem here, but I am up in the mountains of Colorado where the signals are blocked.

    ReplyDelete
  33. If Anderson comes on the show and beats tosh to a pulp, that's the first episode I'll have watched in years.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Is this real? I can't tell anymore if people are kidding on the web.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Your_Favourite_LoserApril 26, 2014 at 4:32 PM

it's real. not sure if wwe edits it out on their copy (or if they even know), but it's definitely on the old THV version. it's not hard to miss since it happens out of a suplex into a pin attempt

    ReplyDelete
  36. ^ This. Always bugged me that the Public Enemy-Gangstas could smash each other toasters and a whole host of other items and a schoolboy would end the match.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Absolutely.

First, congrats to YFL. He's now the first search result for "Tommy Young Penisplex". Second, it's 100% true. I'm going through a radio interview trying to find when Tommy tells the story, but here's an (admittedly fuzzy) clip of the incident.

And, since we're on Nikita: Nikita Koloff beheads David Crockett:

  38. Watched WM 12 outside of the main event because I didn't have the time to sit and watch the 65 minute match straight through yet and the undercard for that ppv is pretty damn good. Diesel vs Taker was surprisingly good, Vega vs Austin was very good (Heel Austin is the shit), the opening six man tag was decent enough, and some of the antics in the Piper vs Goldust match is pretty funny.

It's a WM a lot of people don't bring up when talking about great manias but this one IMO is a great Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Makes me cry as a Met fan because he was picked I think one spot before the Mets would've taken him.

  40. Your_Favourite_LoserApril 26, 2014 at 5:16 PM

"ECW always had a hard time building to a finish"

    all foreplay

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah the undercard to the show was fine. Too bad Bret and Shawn had to be such man children in the main.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Raw and Superstars were the only shows that mattered. Challenge was basically dead in from 1994 through it's final episode in August '95, and All-American and Mania were 99% recaps and highlights from Raw and Superstars.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And yet Roman Reigns gets everyone to believe in that Superman punch of his. (Well, except me. I think he needs a different finisher to complete the package.)

Barrett desperately needs a better finisher. It's too contrived.

    ReplyDelete
  44. good idea, but I'd use someone like Barrett instead. Barrett would be perfect with a wicked DDT- he's got that height to pull it off.

    ReplyDelete
  45. *insert Rainmaker comment here*

    ReplyDelete
  46. If Cesaro's Neutraliser wasn't so awesome, he'd be a superb candidate to use it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Didn't Punk break it out against Cena in one of their matches?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I rank that as second, behind the Doomsday Device

    ReplyDelete
  49. The Killswitch is hands down the stupidest and most contrived finisher ever. Always felt Christian could have got over better with a more snappy finisher.

Also, was it Shane Helms that used the Vertebreaker? I'll admit that's contrived as fuck too, but a great looking move. Give it to Big E or even Rusev.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Literally everything just wrote is wrong

    ReplyDelete
  51. If everyone sold it like JTG, it'd be one if the better looking contemporary finishers.

Quite why they introduced the fucking puppet is beyond me, though.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Remember the time when a sock puppet literally helped Mankind make millions of dollars in WWF?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Reigns and Barrett look so much better. Big Show, who to my understanding has some boxing training under his belt....throws a very girly looking punch that is quite "wrestling-y". It's terrible, god awful. And I've seen him do the chokeslam recently so I know he can.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Watching Survivor Series 2000. It's an awful, awful show. The American Badass gimmick has not aged well. Taker is just ... lame.

    ReplyDelete
  55. That was my initial thought when he started using it - but it simply seems like a stupid and lazy rehash.

The thing is, Mick was massively over and bought as a legit (if only occasional) main eventer and title contender when Mr. Socko was introduced. It came at a time when he was on the cusp of turning into a megaface, and helped cement that turn. Santino is over purely as a comedy performer and will never go beyond that point.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Watched the Degeneration X PPV yesterday. Yikes, what a rough show.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The Immortal Hoke OganApril 27, 2014 at 9:03 AM

Rusev. That would be pretty awesome

    ReplyDelete
  58. The Immortal Hoke OganApril 27, 2014 at 9:11 AM

Yeah, the F-5 is just spinning and dropping a guy. It doesn't emphasize Brock's strength and really doesn't look devastating at all. Sort of an odd finish for a guy like him

    ReplyDelete
  59. The Immortal Hoke OganApril 27, 2014 at 9:13 AM

He belongs in a tag team

    ReplyDelete
  60. The Immortal Hoke OganApril 27, 2014 at 9:16 AM

I dug the superplex-to-splash combo that Power & Glory used.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The Immortal Hoke OganApril 27, 2014 at 9:16 AM

Totally agree. The majority of the time the GTS doesn't look like it comes even close to a knockout blow

    ReplyDelete
  62. The Immortal Hoke OganApril 27, 2014 at 9:18 AM

    That thing was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  63. the ones I talk about are (like the mentioned Magine).

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yeah, Santino won't be a main eventer with his current gimmick, but the statute of limitations is up on copying the Socko gimmick, and it's been updated for the PG Era so it's not a straight copy. Plus, I think Miss Cobra is very cute!

    ReplyDelete
  65. The only, ONLY, time the GTS looked effective to me was when he delivered it to Big E in their match the night Langston turned face. The reason it worked was because Langston sold it properly and his feet hadn't touched the mat by the time the knee connected. It looked wicked. Every other time, the guy is on his feet when the knee hits and, meh.

    ReplyDelete
  66. ...

Yeah, no. After KOTR he was still in lower-mid card stuff until his match with Bret (which he lost, and was only there because Bret asked for it.) It wasn't until January that he actually won a pushed match on PPV (and even that was overturned.)
