WWE Referees Unhappy About their Payoffs

The referees have been quite unhappy lately, stating they are having trouble making it due to road expenses. The referees get paid less than the wrestlers but have the same road expenses and get paid based off of how business is doing.

  1. If the referees are so unhappy, they should try to supplement their pay by selling merchandise on the side.

  2. DAMN YOU, beat me to it!!! *Shake harder, boy!!*

  3. It seems shitty to pay the refs based on how business is rather than a fixed rate. Nobody's coming to see the refs.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hopefully they don't get depressed over their pay, and follow Tim White's lead.

  5. Refs: Here would be perfect opportunity for a union to take hold in wrestling. If the refs decided to walk-out as a group and demand better pay. Where else would WWE get refs from? Its not like there are minor league refs they could call up.

  6. Don't you remember sometime in the Attitude Era, the refs went on strike, and Scabs like Steve Lombardi and Harvey Whippleman became refs? NO PROBLEMO!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hmmm, that is probably what they would do isn't it? WWE legends come on down and ref!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Didn't Sheamus already turn heel? How can they put it on hold??? He kicked Ambrose during a battle royal for crying out loud...there's no coming back from that!

    ReplyDelete
  9. So...best broken neck in wrestling history?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Very true. There are some things you just cannot forgive.

    ReplyDelete
  11. But did he kick his leg right out from under his leg?

That's the point of no return.

  12. Could you imagine if the TNA refs were unhappy with their pay the way that Melzter would be screaming "DEATH OF TNA IS NIGH".

Sheamus has turned heel. And face again. He's trying to break Chyna's record.

  13. I believe we were told that there are no faces and heels anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Does that mean I no longer have to hear the 8 year long bitching about Cena turning heel? COOL!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Who exactly becomes a wrestling ref? Are they failed wrestlers? Are they trying to become bookers/announcers/managers and they are learning the business from the bottom up? Is it an actual career people want? Its very weird to me

    ReplyDelete
  16. Bryan obviously would have won the Buried Alive match, as he has so much experience at being buried...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lots of youngsters hang around the ring, and do stuff like fetch coffee, carry bags, get back on the concession stands etc. If they're big guys they may become wrestlers. if they're smaller guys they may become managers or refs.

  18. Your comment lacks a certain logic.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I could definitely see that being the case in other eras, but is that still how they get refs today?

    ReplyDelete
  20. So...he has the knowledge to avoid getting buried this time?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Maybe they're young actors trying to get something on their CV?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wouldn't Big Show and Kane have the record for that?

    ReplyDelete
  23. He might mean quickest double turn, not most turns.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes, probably. But Chyna may hold the record for most turns by length of period of time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. According to some, HHH would hold that record for last fall/winter. (though it was quite clear to me that he was an insincere heel the entire time.)
