I thought I would post this tonight as there are a lot of football fans on the blog and to prevent other threads from being filled wit NFL draft talk. I actually compiled a mock draft earlier that was very detailed but that got erased so I decided to create another, less-detailed version for this thread. Give it a read and tell me how wrong or right I am and see how poorly I fare. I also did not include trade scenarios in the picks themselves.
And now, I present my mock draft
1. HOU -- DE Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Texans have already made up their minds and will not be trading their pick. Clowney is probably their guy unless they have OLB Khalil Mack rated higher. Mack could be the more productive pro and will be most likely be better off the bat but Clowney has all the tools to be a star. Despite needing a QB, their is no one in this draft worthy of the #1 overall pick.
2. STL -- OT Greg Robinson, Auburn
I would like to think that the Falcons are itching to trade up in order to select either Clowney or Mack but if the Rams stay put, I believe that Robinson is their guy. Todd McShay called Robinson the "most dominate player at the point of attack" that he has ever evaluated. With Jeff Fisher's ties to Jake Matthews, he might be under consideration for this pick too.
3. JAX -- OLB Khalil Mack, Buffalo
Mack might be the rookie that makes the biggest impact this season. Jacksonville has needs at QB and WR but Mack came come in and be the star of the defense for years to come. I doubt they go with Johnny Manziel this high and I think drafting Sammy Watkins with a shaky QB situation will not pay immediate dividends. Mack is probably the best player left on the board.
4. CLE -- WR Sammy Watkins, Clemson
Watkins, by most accounts, is the top WR in the draft. The only thing that Cleveland has at WR is Josh Gordon, who is fantastic, but in case he gets hurt or has anymore off-field issues, Watkins can step in as the top guy. He might even be a legitimate #1 wideout in the NFL after a few years. He will also give either Brian Hoyer or maybe a rooie QB a dependable target. Another person to watch for with this pick is OT Jake Matthews, who along with Joe Thomas can serve as a valuable pair of tackles along the O-Line. Matthews could step in at right tackle, a position he played at the first three years at Texas A & M. I don't think they would consider QB Johnny Manziel this high, even with Kyle Shanahan running the offense.
5. OAK -- OT Jake Matthews, Texas A&M
The Raiders desperately need to protect their quarterback and Matthews is one of the best players on the board. He has played both tackle spots in college and should be starting right away. If Sammy Watkins is still on the board, I see the Raiders taking him but if not, Matthews is their guy. The Raiders could also trade down as they only have 4 of the top 200 picks in this draft and a lot of holes to fill.
6. ATL -- OT Taylor Lewan, Michigan
If the Falcons cannot trade up to select a pass rusher, then I think they would want to see if they can trade down. Lewan, who despite character concerns, has been buzzing atop draft boards lately and does fit a need. My gut tells me that the Falcons are trading this pick regardless.
7. TB -- WR Mike Evans, Texas A&M
Evans is very difficult to match up against and would make a dangerous receiving duo alongside Vincent Jackson. Tampa could also use a quarterback and could consider either Manziel or Blake Bortles with this selection as one of their current QB's, Mike Glennon, figures to be traded either tomorrow or Saturday.
8. MIN -- DT Aaron Donald, Pitt
The Vikings defense was pitiful and plugging Donald alongside last year's pick Sharrif Floyd can help out their situation greatly. Minnesota can also look to add a QB or even a CB like Justin Gilbert with this pick.
9. BUF -- TE Eric Ebron, North Carolina
The Bills have a penchant for overdrafting players and Ebron at #9 seems a bit too high but he does give them a weapon. Buffalo has been one of the teams rumored to be trading up, my guess for either a WR or OT, and could even consider OT Zack Martin here. Ebron's downside is that he is a terrible blocker but then again, so are most people that play for the Bills.
10. DET -- CB Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma St.
The only cornerback on the Lions roster last season to record an interception was Chris Houston and he only had one. Gilbert is a playmaker in the secondary and the Lions have no one on the roster like him. They could also consider OLB Anthony Barr as a pass rusher or a target for Stafford. If Ebron is still on the board, he could be considered.
11. TEN -- QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida
Jake Locker is terrible and taking Bortles here seems like a smart move. They also need a cornerback and Darqueze Dennard could be an option but with his injury history, Bortles is the better pick.
12. NYG -- OT Zack Martin, Notre Dame
Eli played behind a porous line last year and the versatile Martin can step in at right tackle or guard. The Giants also need some weapons in the passing game and if Ebron is available, he might be their guy instead.
13. STL -- S Calvin Pryor, Louisville
The Rams desperately need a safety and reports have stated the Rams like him better than the other top safety prospect, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, so I think he is the choice based on what is left in my mock. Pryor has been compared to Bob Sanders with the way he flies around the field. The Rams have a need at WR but the draft is deep in that position and they can find value in the later rounds.
14. CHI -- CB Darqueze Dennard, Michigan St.
Chicago needs to load up on defensive players early in the draft. Dennard is a good fit for them, as he can cover and solid in run support too. They also need a safety in the worst way and if Calvin Pryor is somehow left, I can see the Bears snatching him up. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is another choice. Trading up to land DT Aaron Donald is another possibility.
15. PIT -- CB Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech
Fuller is vesatile and can press cover and is aggressive in run support. He can really lineup anywhere. Pittsburgh also needs help at WR, with Odell Beckham and Marqise Lee as possible picks.
16. DAL -- QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M
I really hope this pick happens so I can watch everyone meltdown on social media. Its been rumored that owner Jerry Jones loves Manziel and with Tony Romo 34 years old and coming off of back surgery, this team needs a QB for the future. Plus, I don't think this team has the talent to contend anytime soon so its not like they are wasting a pick here by thinking about the future. Trading up for DT Aaron Donald is a possibility too, as is a Safety.
17. BAL -- FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Alabama
The Ravens need a safety to pair up with Matt Elam and Clinton-Dix fits the bill. He has the range and ball skills that Elam lacks. If Ebron falls this far, the Ravens could take him or even ILB CJ Mosley, but that is not the most glaring position of need on this team.
18. NYJ -- WR Odell Beckham Jr., LSU
Beckham is one of the best route-runners in the draft. His explosiveness also compliments the Jets newest WR, Eric Decker. This team lacks playmakers on offense and Beckham should be able to contribute from the start. If not him, they could go with other WR's like Marqise Lee and Brandin Cooks or even look for help in the secondary.
19. MIA -- OT Cyrus Kouandjio, Alabama
The Dolphins offensive line is in complete disarray and needs to be addressed in the draft. Kouandjio struggles against smaller, speed guys but is one of the most talented lineman left in the draft at this point and worthy of a selection. If the Dolphins want to address the defense first, they could select a linebacker, with CJ Mosley and Ryan Shazier as possibilities.
20. ARZ -- OLB Anthony Barr, UCLA
Barr has a lot of potential but also a lot to learn as he spent two seasons at fullback before making the switch to defense. His skill set fits the 3-4 defense the Cardinals run and the team can be patient with him to start, as they do not have any glaring needs on the roster. A QB can be considered here too and if someone like Bortles drops down to them, he might be too tough to pass up on.
21. GB -- ILB CJ Mosley, Alabama
Mosley has a lot of red flags but a top-ten talent based on potential alone and the Packers need a lot of help at linebacker. Ryan Shazier might be a possibility and Mel Kiper of ESPN mocked Marqise Lee to the Packers after hearing from people that there is no way he will fall past this selection so do not be surprised if that happens.
22. PHI -- WR Brandin Cooks, Oregon State
With DeSean Jackson leaving, Cooks can fill the role of deep threat and more. He is known for always working hard, which is a trait that Jackson lacked, and could really be dangerous in Chip Kelly's scheme. I think they are definitely going with a receiver here and ohter options could be Marqise Lee and Jordan Matthews.
23. KC -- WR Marqise Lee, USC
Lee can help replace what Dexter McCluster brought to the Chiefs last year. He is also a better receiver. If one of the top safeties falls down, the Cheiefs could take one of them or consider one of the top guards, like Joel Bitonio or Xavier Su'a-Filo
24. CIN -- CB Jason Verrett, TCU
The Bengals are old at cornerback and Verrett, while small, plays big and willing to help in run support. Bradley Roby is another corner that they could target, despite his character concerns and on-field discipline problems, as the Bengals do not shy away from that. There is also talk that the team could trade up, maybe to address the LT spot.
25. SD -- OLB Ryan Shazier, Ohio State
Although small, Shazier is a playmaker on defense. The Chargers need a lot of help in the secondary too but Shazier might be the best defender left on the board. He should step in right away and contribute.
26. CLE -- QB Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville
I dont see Bridgewater slipping past the first round, no matter how mediocre he looked at his pro day. He has a lot of instincts and by sitting on the bench for a year, the team can be patient while he soaks in the playbook. Cleveland also needs help along the offensive line and could address that with this pick.
27. N.O. -- CB Bradley Roby, Ohio St.
The Saints need a younger cornerback to challenge Champ Bailey, who looked pathetic in the Super Bowl last year. Roby, despite his concerns, still offers good value at this point in the draft. The Saints could also consider a WR, with Jordan Matthews being an intriguing option or even a linebacker to fit the 3-4 scheme. Dee Ford could be an option there too.
28. CAR -- WR Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt
Matthews should help Newton right away as a big target. He can run and has the size (6'3 210 lbs). Carolina is desperate for help at receiver. They also could use a left tackle and help at cornerback but Matthews should step in and make a difference right away.
29. NE -- DT Ra'Shede Hageman, Minnesota
To the shock of no one, ESPN is reporting that the Pats are looking to trade down and the real shock would occur if they stood pat. Hageman fills a position of need with Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly coming off of injury. They also need to address the interior offensive line, with a versatile OL like Joel Bitonio a possible pick. Adding another weapon on offense for Tom Brady should be considered early in the draft too.
30. S.F. -- OLB Dee Ford, Auburn
The most likely scenario is that the 49ers trade up in order to draft a receiver or cornerback. In the event they stay here, a pass rusher like Ford would be a nice addition, especially with the uncertainty around Aldon Smith. They have a lot of pieces to trade up and I expect that they will.
31. DEN -- OG Xavier Su'a Filo, UCLA
Protecting Manning is a priority and Filo is the top rated guard in the draft. The pick fills a hole left by the departing Zane Beadles. Denver also needs a starter at corner opposite Aqib Talib and can find a deep-threat at receiver on the second day.
32. SEA -- DE Stephon Tuitt, Notre Dame
Seattle lost a lot along their defensive line and their scheme requires them to have a lot at that position so he makes a lot of sense. If Pete Carroll gets him to play, he could be a steal. Seattle also needs help at wide receiver and cornerback.
I cheer for the Browns but wouldn't consider myself obsessed with the team like most people in a Cleveland. They're actually my third favorite.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I'm always amused, no matter if the pick is great or terrible (nearly always terrible)
As a Browns fan this would be a great first round. The rasslin' fan in me wants Johnny Football, but the football fan in me does not.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I resented ESPN's Manziel coverage, I think the only thing I REALLY care about (other than who the Chargers pick) is where Manziel goes. I now hope he drops to 16 for maximum humor purposes.
ReplyDeleteImagine Jones trying to control Manziel. The humor writes itself.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right with the Jets pick, Brian. If ODB falls to 18, I will be pretty happy.
ReplyDeleteAs a contrast, here is our mock:
PTBN’s 2014 NFL First Round Mock Draft
Cleveland has had a lot of problems, but they have drafted fairly well the last few years.
ReplyDeleteAnd they hosed Indy big time with the Trent deal.
ReplyDeleteI think Mayock had a lot of picks the same as you.
ReplyDeleteI like Manziel to Tampa.
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteEven if the Jets get Brandin Cooks, you should be pleased. That kid is dangerous with the ball
Steal of the century.
ReplyDeleteI just finished painting my ceiling. Time to keep my arm below my shoulder for a while. Maybe I'll order that stupid Domino's chicken thing. I wonder who reaches for that QB first.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Glazer is reporting that they are going D in round one, but others say they are trying to trade up for ODB. 8PM can't come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteThe NFL Draft is like watching paint dry blindfolded. I don't see how anyone can watch it for more than a few minutes. I'm an NBA Draft guy
ReplyDeleteI think Tampa is doing a lot of smoke screen stuff to see if someone will trade up for their pick, personally.
ReplyDeleteWhat network do you guys go with for the Draft? ESPN or NFL Net? I spent a couple years working with NFLN so I usually go there out of loyalty. Plus, no Berman.
ReplyDeleteThat and all the fans calling for Romo's head 4 times a year? Just a goldmine.
ReplyDeleteThey did that a couple years ago and lost Maurice Clayborne to Dallas. HATED it.
ReplyDeleteI am keeping an eye on a draft tracker at work.
ReplyDeleteIt used to be 15 minutes between picks. That's absurd.
ReplyDeletePicture in picture was basically invented for today. Solid NBA playoff game to really watch, keep tabs on the draft in the mini window and maximize it if anything weird happens.
ReplyDeleteI'm an NBA fan above all, but the NFL draft is more fun with the trades and all. The NBA lottery OTOH.
ReplyDeleteI had a nice, detailed three-round mock but the draft builder site I used erased the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteI like ESPN... because of Boomer.
ReplyDeleteMaking it shorter for prime time weeknight TV was a good move.
ReplyDeleteMaking it three days makes the whole thing even more unwatchable. Goodell is a cancer.
ReplyDeleteIf you guys want, I can update picks in this thread
ReplyDeleteNoooo! Actually of all the stuff he does, the Draft is probably the least annoying. He is the worst when he does baseball games and I am about done with him on Countdown.
ReplyDeleteI think his worst is the MLB All Star festivities... especially the Home Run Derby. BAAAAAAAACK BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK.... GONE! (repeat 80x)
ReplyDeleteHe is such a shitbag
ReplyDeleteThat's how I kinda feel right now. I'd be fine with anything really. We need everything.
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets cancer.
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of the quarterbacks in this draft and neither is he from what I just saw.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm totally against, BoD Extreme Rules and the like... I'd be up for a BoD Draft.
ReplyDeleteI might hold a mock draft contest for the NBA draft. That could be fun.
ReplyDeletei hope someone takes he hate me
ReplyDeleteSide note: Cold-Eeze will 99% clear your cold before you get it... but it makes your teeth feel like shit. You're better off with a cold.
ReplyDeleteMonster heat for Goodell tonight... PUT THE STRAP ON HIM!
ReplyDeleteGoodell wishes he had Stern's ability to run a draft.
ReplyDeleteYou should have heard the backlash after the trade first occurred. He was never any good!
ReplyDeleteHe gets heel heat better than anyone.
ReplyDeleteESPN.
ReplyDeleteAlso, just curious, are you Justin or Scott from PTBN?
ReplyDeleteOf course, Gruden wants Houston to draft a QB... fucker used to keep SIX of them on the team in Tampa.
ReplyDeleteNot much of a football guy, but I live RIGHT HERE in Texas A&M country!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm just glad Manziel is leaving town.
Dude, it's cut up chicken fingers with shredded cheese on it.
ReplyDeleteBiggest draft pet peeve. Houston has been on the clock for 2 months...so they're taking an extra 10 minutes just because.
ReplyDeleteIt's still pretty good. The vaguely BBQ sauce tasting version must have cocaine or something in it.
ReplyDeleteHasn't their clock already expired?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm thinking. The clock has disappeared off my TV. For some time now...
ReplyDeleteHouston couldn't trade this pick I take it.
ReplyDeleteEASY pick.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good pick too.
ReplyDeleteAlright, 1 for 1 right now.
ReplyDeleteI thought Goodell was going to steal the #1 pick and draft himself to Houston there for a second. #toomuchwwenetwork
ReplyDeleteI went with a pizza. That chicken thing just looked so weird.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for Clowney to bust and bust big. He gave about a 25% effort last year, I just want the gods of football and effort to strike back on that.
ReplyDeleteClowney looks like a man amongst boys out there, but that'll change in the NFL quickly. But seriously, what a potential meat grinder situation with Clowney and Watt.
ReplyDeleteTexas, where soup crotch season begins in February!
ReplyDeleteYou better believe it. Oh wait, you already do.
ReplyDeleteOne guy on the NFL radio network was talking about how Clowney only has one inside move and needs to be coached up a lot if he is going to be any good.
ReplyDeleteThe local team is trying to shop this pick. A lot of confusion among Rams fans, many of whom want an OT and others who want Watkins. People are FREAKING over rumors of Manziel being the pick.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Cushing, that is if he can stay on the field.
ReplyDeleteMy fingers are crossed that Dallas takes Manziel. It's a Cowboys hater dream right now.
ReplyDeleteI could see you guys picking up Bortles.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he'll last that long. If anything, the Giants will snatch him up just to fuck with Jerry Jones.
ReplyDeleteIt's 80 here in Illinois and I'm dying. 500 miles south? That's tough.
ReplyDeleteI just watch the first 5 picks and then I'm done for good.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I might pop back in for Dallas' pick and our pick(49ers).
Being from Canada, I'm still not used to it. I do nothing but bitch for 6 months of the year.
ReplyDeleteThe Giants would be doing him a favor, if anything, let 'em take Manziel so their franchise can get set back another couple of years.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go that far but against guys he couldn't overpower he didn't make much of an effort to put moves on. He just better have a plan B because he's not going to kill guys with power in the NFL the same way he did 2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteSweet Colt McCoy Browns jersey, guy at the Rams draft party.
ReplyDeleteI think he's a talent, but he needs a year on the bench to kind of humble him a bit. I want him in Tampa, bad.
ReplyDeleteIf he's in Tampa, he's starting Week 1.
ReplyDeleteRams, thanks for not fucking around.
ReplyDeleteWHAT!? chants.
ReplyDeleteSmart pick by the Rams (?!!!)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine pick too. Too bad their QB still sucks.
ReplyDeleteJustin... Scott would never be able to handle posting on a blog ;)
ReplyDelete2 for 2
ReplyDeleteClowney will be ass in the NFL.
ReplyDeletethat would be awesome
ReplyDeleteWhat pick do the Edmonton Eskimos have?
ReplyDeleteSchefty says surprise at 3.
ReplyDeleteAtlanta will go with Bill Goldberg at 6.
ReplyDeleteI have that shit on lock.
ReplyDeleteLOL BORTLES!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jaguars!
ReplyDeleteLOL Jaguars
ReplyDeleteWow, that's EARLY for Bortles.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha, Gabbert 2.0!
ReplyDeletelolz for Bortles.
ReplyDeleteI'd take Bortles over Manziel though
ReplyDeleteAnd here...we...go....
ReplyDeleteI wonder how all 12 of the Jaguars fans are reacting.
ReplyDeleteThey traded away to the Alouettes.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!! - Blaine Gabbert
ReplyDeleteNo way Brownies don't take Johnny now.
ReplyDeleteThey are going Watkins.
ReplyDeleteBecause Bridgewater wouldn't of been a perfectly fine QB or anything.....
ReplyDeleteHere we go Brownies! SAMMY! SAMMY! SAMMY! SAMMY!!!
ReplyDeleteJacksonville LOVES really really white sounding quarterbacks. Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne, Blake Bortles.
ReplyDeleteBills trade up? Smells like Mike Evans to me...
ReplyDeleteBrowns trade pick to Bills! WTF LOL typical Browns
ReplyDeleteTRADE!
ReplyDeleteplease
ReplyDeleteAtlanta might benefit the most from the Bortles pick. Khalil Mack can fall in their laps at #6
ReplyDeletehttp://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/jaguars-fan-cant-believe-it-nfl-fan-gifs.gif
ReplyDeleteMaking moves, Toronto Bills!
ReplyDeleteand the Southwestern Ontario Bills take...
ReplyDeleteTypical Browns
ReplyDeleteMack or Watkins, Bills?
ReplyDeleteGreat trade for Browns. Wow.
ReplyDeleteYep, they strike again.
ReplyDeleteI'm cool with the pick. The Bills are gonna suck anyway.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a smart move if they have enough guys on their board that they like.
ReplyDeleteVery good trade for the Browns, grab a 2015 1st rounder too.
ReplyDeleteBills gonna go Jake Matthews
ReplyDeleteThey have enough holes that this is a smart play. They'll get one of their top needs at 9 anyways. Buffalo just got hijacked.
ReplyDeleteDo the Browns have a coach yet?
ReplyDeleteBrowns are going Manziel. It's guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteYes. Pettine.
ReplyDeletePlease Raiders, draft smart so I don't have to hear about it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThey should trade down. They need more picks
ReplyDeleteThe Raiders really wish they could have taken that Buffalo deal. Tough break.
ReplyDeleteThey need more everything.
ReplyDeleteIt's like a real life Draft Day movie for the BRowns.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this statement.
ReplyDeleteCleveland was smart to make that trade. The bills, not so much
ReplyDelete*breathes sigh of relief*
ReplyDeleteThe Bortles pick looks like a ticket sales move.
ReplyDeleteStill don't understand the Clowney hate.
Tampa better do the same with Manziel... they have lower attendance than even Jacksonville.
ReplyDeleteMy fav. gif of all-time. That guy went to Columbine when the shootings happened.
ReplyDeleteJohnny would sell more tickets than Bortles, I think. I get the local thing, but Johnny is more engaging if they are looking to get butts in the seats.
ReplyDeleteRaiders finally made a smart pick in the 1st round of a draft,
ReplyDeleteAlso as a Jet fan, I hope they take a WR at the 18th spot. I just hope it's Cooks instead of Beckham
Jags are making sure they're in LA in 3 years.
ReplyDeleteJon Gruden's going to have a long night waiting for Johnny Manziel. I'm already sick of his schtick and we've got 2 hours left most likely.
ReplyDeleteAl is dead, so they might actually take a RECEIVER instead of someone who is just really fast.
ReplyDeleteCount me into the group that says the Manziel circus isn't worth what he could potentially add to the team.
ReplyDeleteGruden is best in small doses.
ReplyDeleteJust tuning in, which network's less insufferable tonight? Or just better off watching a draft cast online?
ReplyDeleteJets may go CB.. I think they will just go best available at either OL, CB or WR. Or I guess Ebron too if he lasts.
ReplyDeleteThe guy just flat out LOVES QBs.
ReplyDeleteI wish a qb would still him to stick it at least once during those segments.
ReplyDeleteNFL Network's actually been fairly tolerable so far
ReplyDeleteAgreed in general, but if Jax wants a circus/sell tickets, go all out.
ReplyDeleteThe Jets should trade Vick to cover a position of need.
ReplyDeleteNFL Network because they don't have Ray Lewis
ReplyDeleteExcellent point
ReplyDeleteTheir would be a riot in NYC if the Jets take a CB in the first round again lol.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather get a WR like Cooks and then take Austin Seferian-Jenkins in the second round.
My GM draft philosophy would always be to trade to get more picks. Missing a top 10 pick is a quick and easy way to get canned.
ReplyDeleteThe segment he had with Blaine Gabbert is still amazing though, criticizing him to his face, while watching him on tape.
ReplyDeletehttp://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=6381541
huh huh huh huh
ReplyDeleteyou guys are talking about sports
huh huh huh huh
Al ain't dead. His brain is attached to a computer somewhere in Oakland. He's still making decisions.
ReplyDeleteI'm at work and in a mini flame war with Douglas...can't watch right now. What are the picks so far
ReplyDeleteThey need a CB just as bad as a WR at this point. If Dennard is there, not sure they pass him up.
ReplyDeleteSucks for the Raiders, then.
ReplyDeleteQBs are going to both Tampa & Minnesota. Manziel and Bridgewater respectively.
ReplyDeleteI can't watch it at work but I will later. What an @$$
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, they do need another CB. The only CB I can live with taking is Dennard but I can't see them passing up on a game breaking WR like Cooks here.
ReplyDeleteClowney, Robinson, Bortles, watkins, mack, matthews....bills traded up with Cleveland for Watkins, rest of order as was
ReplyDeleteThese WHAT chants are fucking weak.
ReplyDeleteGoddamned Jets fans.
Don't rule out OL either. Load up there and pound the rock (which is rumored to be their plan). Similar building to SF...inside out.
ReplyDeleteSo has anyone used an interesting walk-up music, or is it just crap like Drake and Rick Ross?
ReplyDeleteCan we get a YES! chant going? Oh wait, no-one appearing on stage tonight is any sort of the word likable.
ReplyDeleteClowney is dumb as a sack of hammers and, by all accounts, lazy as all hell. He won't adapt.
ReplyDeleteThey had one since January.
ReplyDeleteIt's Idzik at the helm so I can't rule anything out because he is tight lipped on everything unlike Tannenbaum
ReplyDelete2nd Round, when the former players start announcing the picks.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in NY, I'd definitely try to get one going for Morten Andersen.
Yup, until next January!
ReplyDeleteThe dumb thing is really irrelevant when it comes to football. The lazy thing doesn't make any sense to me. What exactly has he done to earn that moniker?
ReplyDeleteThat's insane to have seven family members who have played in the NFL
ReplyDeleteIrvin's not as horrible as he was on ESPN, makes you wonder what the Mouse House producers tell their on air "talent"
ReplyDeleteNo coke allowed.
ReplyDeleteJust from what I've read, it sounds like he has Randy Moss Syndrome. Wants to make the big play at the big time, not so concerned about every other down. But I'm obviously not a scout, so take with adequate salt.
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say the dead opposite.
ReplyDeleteAnd steady... he won't make a splash move just to get cheered here. He is building a long term contender, which makes sense. They really should plan to be ready and loaded for two years from now when Brady is done.
ReplyDeleteI mean, don't tank, but steadily build with best available and be smart with contracts.
I always appreciated Irvin. He's just not polished enough for America's taste
ReplyDeletelmao
ReplyDeleteHe's better than Emmitt, by a LOT.
ReplyDeleteEh, that's the problem with ESPN's model, they take guys right off the field. They should be doing local coverage to build up confidence for the big show
ReplyDeleteI hate that trade for buffalo
ReplyDeleteNXT for commentators should be made
ReplyDeleteSo Gruden touts Manziel all night... love QBS... used to coach Tampa... of course he thinks Johnny Football to Tampa.
ReplyDelete... and I want it.
That should be ESPNEWS' role, if anything.
ReplyDeleteI've watched him since he's been down here and it doesn't hold water. The worst thing you can say is that he can't beat double teams. All this motor stuff is nonsense. A strong side DE should not and would not chase down plays on the weak side. First reason is he's probably got containment and the second is he's not going to catch the guy anyway so why bother.
ReplyDelete2 of the first 5 picks used "Happy", according to Twitter.
ReplyDeleteIf they can win eight games with the roster they had last year, I don't think tanking is possible for them. Their roster will never be that bad again for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI just think pairing a shifty and super quick slot reciever in Cooks to go with Chris Johnson, Decker, Kerley, and a TE like Austin Seferian- Jenkins is the best way to go. With Rex, the D will always be at worst pretty good but the Jets aren't going anywhere without an offense.
Especially with Ray Lewis. I like some of his thoughts but he can't adequately express them.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense. Could be a big season for Watt, then.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't want to go all out and injure himself in his final year in college, that's where the lazy moniker came from.
ReplyDeleteWell, shit. Evans is a good pick though.
ReplyDeleteI still get a kick out of watching Emmitt's old stuff. "Don't quit! Just don't quit!"
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree. I would just feel better about that plan if they had resigned Cro or picked up DRC at CB. I am fine with them not breaking the bank but they are pretty thin back there.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this isn't as good as the ric flair/Viney mac brand draft
ReplyDeleteWhich is based on what? Someone threw this out there and every just took it as the gospel
ReplyDeleteDammit Browns! Minny better not have hustled them again.
ReplyDeletePretty much. ESPN was all over that story so yeah pretty much lol
ReplyDeleteI had no idea. That one slipped past me.
ReplyDeleteBrowns traded up. Manziel it is.
ReplyDeleteOK, Browns are definitely taking Johnny. I'm starting to sound like Gruden now.
ReplyDelete
