Bring back comment of the day!
ReplyDeleteHopefully Rusev lives a little longer than Umaga.
ReplyDeleteCold. As. Ice.
ReplyDeleteThe emotional range Heyman show when one client loses the title to another would be fucking classic.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's depressing. The neck surgery is really screwing things and we can't blame WWE for it. We heard before WM30 that they had "big summer plans" for Cesaro and this would seem to confirm that. Cesaro cashing in on Brock could send him into the stratosphere, especially if they followed up with Cesaro winning winning out in a title feud against Cena afterward. I guess they could still get there by crowning a new champ for Brock to dethrone? Not that Cena needs the title ever again, but having him win it, then doing Cena-Brock at SummerSlam could accomplish the same goal (with Cesaro cashing in afterward?)
ReplyDeleteI guess Brock winning and losing it right after is about as close to a title reign as he can get with his schedule. And that would have turned Brock face? If I had to pick a Wrestlemania main event now it'd be Bryan challenging Brock.
ReplyDeleteHell yes. The villain version of the MegaPowers exploding. Heyman trying to keep the peace. Gloating about how, regardless of who wins, he will still be managing the champion.
ReplyDeleteJust got done watching the main event. I'm happy they "went there" with the clean sleep. Everyone is the Shield looks like a star. Can't think of a faction that the WWE has ever booked this well.
ReplyDeleteIMO that's a terrible idea and I'm glad they dropped it if true.
ReplyDeleteDaaammmmm.
ReplyDeleteNetwork/Bullshit Thread posted on nights when there is no live thread. So tonight is the RAW live thread. Tomorrow night will bring the Network thread. This has a two-pronged effect: 1. The Little Doomers have a place to hang in the evening and 2. I don't get reprimanded for the unauthorized use of state resources. The penalty for that is being served whatever is inside the mystery container in the break room. It's been there since November, and it's kinda creamy looking.
ReplyDeleteThe Cesaro/Heyman relationship has been meaningless and him turning on Lesnar to cash in will not go over that well
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. For damage control. . .
ReplyDelete1. Cesaro wins 'MITB Briefcase'. Bryan fails to return in time, they strip him of the belt.
2. Cesaro & Paul try to cash in the Briefcase for the vacant title, but are informed that "it doesn't work that way".
3. Announce a tournament for 'Battleground' and give the belt(s) to Lesnar
4. Lesnar vs. Cena at SummerSlam, with Cesaro cashing in on Brock afterward
5. Heyman Guys explode!
6. Cesaro vs. Cena for the fall ppvs
7. Lesnar gets his revenge and regains the title against Cesaro late in the year or at the Rumble. Bryan fights his way back to health and wins the Rumble
8. Lesnar vs. Bryan at WM31.
That sounds good to me. The Daily Network thread kinda gets dwarfed by the Daily Update.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Cesaro winning the title and turning face after Brock goes after him, plus Heyman siding with Brock, if the best option. That way Lesnar can be champ going into Mania and face either Cesaro, Reigns, or Bryan.
ReplyDeleteI call dibs on Lana when Rusev dies... because that is totally how it works.
ReplyDeleteUsually the foreign manager quits first. (see Estrada, Armando)
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Evolution in its prime didn't get to look quite this strong.
ReplyDeleteI want to make sure my bases are covered!
ReplyDeletePresumably they might have made a bigger deal out of the Cesaro/Heyman/Lesnar connection if that was still the plan (pre-Bryan injury). But I see what you're saying.
ReplyDeleteI really wish they had the brand split so they could fuck with the idea of two of the shield members hold the main belt. and arguing who is the better champion.
ReplyDeleteI guess they could do that with the IC and US belts.
The Cesaro/Heyman pairing seemed like a bad one from the start, especially after Cesaro left the Real Americans and was red hot with the crowd at Mania after the Battle Royal win. The Heyman pairing has done him no favors at all.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they have a good layaway plan.
ReplyDeleteI'll just wait for the Wal-Mart Great Value knockoff that's almost as good but probably causes some yet named internal disorder.
ReplyDeleteKind of glad the SummerSlam plans changed, even though I'm guessing the Bryan-Lesnar match would have ruled as would the fallout. Still, a 3rd SummerSlam in 4 years that crowns a new champion via MITB? Do that and you might as well rename it to Money in the Bank: The Cash-In Show.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a nice sentiment... it isn't like he said "I call dibs on Lana when Rusev dies"
ReplyDeleteI liked MITB better when the guys would hold them for a few months until cashing them in when it was a little more opportunistic ala Edge and Punk.
ReplyDeleteinstead of Lana you get Lannah
ReplyDeleteLannah The Prussian Spokesperson.....
ReplyDeleteBoD RAW Preview:
ReplyDeleteThe fallout from BoD Payback happens tonight on BoD RAW's new 10:35EST start time.
Tonight, the Championship is on the line again as Cultstatus defends his title against the Doctor of Intoxication, Officer Farva.
The first ever BoD Solid B+ Player Champion will be crowned tonight as Hart Killer 09 takes on Joe Dust.
And, after being left off of the card due to time restraints, the Win-a-Talkshow Battle Royal will open the show with 19 angry midcard workers and a top 5'er.
Despite competing in a brutal TLC match, the GM has ordered a match with all the competitors as the Upper Midcard Express & Adam Curry & Kyle Warne take on Curtis Williams & theberzerker1 & Paul Meekin & White Thunder.
Also, after winning the rights to Nebb28's pet rock, what else does GM Bayless have in store for the midcarders of the BoD? Will we see any new members of the GM's team?
With the Unstable firmly inside of Mar Solo's head, will the BoD Medical Staff be able to remove them? Regardless, Mar Solo will have to face Elvy Landa tonight.
And who is this masked man running around the BoD?
All that and dancing, racism, and video packages of debuting competitors on................ BoD RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight at 10:35pm EST
It's the exact opposite of the Spirit Squad. Remember when DX squashed them in 5 on 2 matches at Vengeance 2006 and Saturday Night's Main Event 23?
ReplyDeleteOf course, 5 male cheerleaders were never going to get over like 3 badasses, but the point stands.
My goal is to one day make the sleazy independent company barn held storyline knockoff of this show....or if not that good, BoD Impact!
ReplyDeleteBoD Worldwide is a great place to start
ReplyDeleteNeeds more Parallax
ReplyDeleteIt will have Parallax.
ReplyDeleteDid someone's Disqus account get deleted that was in the Top 20?
ReplyDeleteIt only shows 19
So do I apply at the Performance Enhancement Center?
ReplyDeleteYes and you get assigned a new name.
ReplyDeleteYour new name........
Duke Prescott
Then again, Bryan's long gap between defenses because he refuses to relinquish the title perfectly sets up Brock winning the belt at SummerSlam or Survivor Series and declaring he's going to sit at home without defending it because there are no worthy opponents, yet refusing to defend the title.
ReplyDeleteHell, have him win it at Survivor Series, says he's not going to defend it until whoever wins the Rumble (Roman Reigns?) points out that Brock is contractually obligated to defend the title against the Rumble winner at Mania 31. WWE can play it up like when Iron Sheik was claiming he would bring the WWF title to Iran until Hogan came in as a "last chance" to win the belt. Except for the whole America vs. Iran thing, of course.
I'll take it!
ReplyDeleteSo he will become Prescott in no time.
ReplyDeleteWhat about winning all of the belts in one night? (2003 Armageddon)
ReplyDeleteMagoonie was Top 20 before though he has been around today and may have fallen out of said Top 20
ReplyDeleteEh I tried it on for size....maybe another spin on the random name generator will do better.
ReplyDeleteNo big deal. It's only the first five that matter anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou know......I got KO'd by a title belt made out of paper.
ReplyDelete-Ohhhhhh, I see what you did there! Irony is humorous.
Glad you recognize
ReplyDeleteDisqus is no longer capable of counting to 20. The Disqus Top 19 is the wave of the future, especially as long as I'm still on that list!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they definitely had their moments and were booked really strong, but the Shield has been treated like a big deal from day one and has gotten some pretty dominant wins over some fairly surprising people. It's pretty close, but I think Shield edges out Evolution so far, in terms of dominant booking.
ReplyDeleteYou can't hold down the Midcard Mafia... unless someone pays me...
ReplyDeleteHeyman kind of seems in limbo with Brock only part-time...If there going to use him in this advocate role, I wouldn't mind Ascension being brought up and paired with him as they have literally nothing left to do in NXT and could be muscle for Heyman when Brock is not around.
ReplyDeleteI miss the daily network thread...
ReplyDeleteBrock Lesnar repackaged in a turbin and waving the Iranian flag displaying feats of strength....with a jewish manager. It actually sounds like something WWE would do
ReplyDeleteIt is basically what they did with Slaughter
ReplyDeleteYeah, if Paul is going to represent more than just Brock, I think they should go full-bore with a Dangerous Alliance reboot. Especially with Evolution killed dead by the Shield, having a new heel stable to feud with could be cool.
ReplyDeletehow do you see the top?
ReplyDelete*Top 5 handshake*
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget:
ReplyDeleteFarva returns the keys and membership card to the Top 5 Lounge.
Booking aside, I think Evolution wins on points for bringing in two former flops on Smackdown in smiling nice guy and Sable drool candy Randy Orton, and collection plate holder for preacher Devon, Deacon Bautista, and elevating them into lifetime main event slots. The Shield easily have the talent and charisma to get there on their own, but Evolution took two people who may have been turfed soon and built World Champions.
ReplyDelete:: Discreet Top 5 Handshake to prevent other from learning it ::
ReplyDeleteRight above where you'd type a new response, the "Scott's Blog of Doom!" tab. Click on it, then click the button below the Top 9.
ReplyDeleteSpoiler: You're not in the Top 19.
Bayless' daily update carried the load during the day. I figured that the BoD doesn't have a random thread every night, so I'm revamping it to be all-inclusive. Plus, I got tired of typing out the schedule. I'll just hit the high spots for that.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a good point. The Shield have been booked like something special from the start and didn't need to shed dumb gimmicks first.
ReplyDeleteI feel like someone answers this question three or four times a week.
ReplyDeleteThey can't wrap their feeble minds around such things as our handshake, walking in a straight line, counting to 5..
ReplyDeletewas just looking in general, i dont care how i rank
ReplyDeletei've never actually seen the top list before
ReplyDeleteThat works. I honestly can't remember the last time I actually watched the live stream for something other than a special event.
ReplyDeleteIs Abeyance a Top 5er.......or is he an outsider or a pretender. Has he been taught the handshake?
ReplyDeleteYou can't. We're up here, and you're down there beneath the clouds.
ReplyDeletethe clouds of your ASS FARTS
ReplyDeleteyeaaaaaah, i went there
did you ever think that your harem of skanks might care? Huh? didja ever think of that? Selfish Nasty.
ReplyDeleteYou mean the 3rd in 4 years? MITB wasn't cashed in at Summerslam 2012.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you've been doing these so often, Bayless. Didn't you say you only wanted to post a handful every month?
ReplyDeleteI legit think it needs to be expanded to Top 6 to account for Brady "Abeyance" Anderson
ReplyDeleteYeah, that will keep you comfort while you try to figure out why you've never kissed a real woman that wasn't a family member.
ReplyDelete#Icangotheretoo
You NEED to get a dose of "act right" then we will initiate you properly.
ReplyDeleteLesson one: Ditch the Zubaz pants.
off limits, dude. i didn't say anything that was a personal attack
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a gimmick. My apologies.
ReplyDeleteSo I watched clash of the champions 18 before I went to bed last night and I have to say, Jesse Ventura on commentary makes everything better. Not that sting and Ricky vs Austin and Rude wasn't awesome but it sucked me in to a whole other level with Ventura's commentary.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the TV ratings drop over the long term of the last decade or so has anything to do with the commentary. You can really make a bad show more interesting or a good show feel like a huge deal with the right commentators. I know that Vince has to has to feed out his big picture message of the program but that does that really make a difference? If the commentator focused almost solely on putting over what was in front of the viewer and was done in an entertaining fashion wouldn't that make a difference is getting more people to watch wrestling?
Other than the first two days of the Network when the bugs were being worked out on watching the archives, I haven't watched anything on the live stream.
ReplyDeleteThe East German lunch lady with the lazy eye.
ReplyDeleteJust tell him he is genetically predisposed to like fried chicken
ReplyDeleteI said I was sorry. Since when does Buck Nasty get offended? He's supposed to be DOING the offending.
ReplyDeletewho cares?
ReplyDeleteGosh Hopkins
ReplyDeleteNumber 20 was Chris Benoit.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I wrote.
ReplyDeleteBut 5 people should beat 2.
ReplyDeleteI get that. When my day off falls on Monday, I find it tougher to watch Raw live. Back before the commentary became insufferable I could put it on the surround sound and follow it while doing other things around the house, but now I feel it's almost impossible to do that as I end up tuning it out so not to hear the commentary.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the ratings drop has anything to do with the commentary, but the commentary certainly doesn't help the product in any discernible way.
ReplyDeleteI also imagine that the WWE being a public company is keeping them from making more radical changes when it comes to the product, including the voices they present. Getting rid of King, Cole and JBL and replacing them with William Regal and Renee Young, maybe even Paul Heyman, and keep VKM out of their ear, would go a long way to improve the overall presentation of the show.
It can't be helping. As individuals they're pretty crappy (and with Cole and Lawler that's being nice), as a combined unit they make the show practically unwatchable.
ReplyDeleteWe do. Stop trolling.
ReplyDeleteLEAVE MY MOM OUT OF THIS!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat if she's just a distant cousin...actually never mind.
ReplyDeleteI am unpredictable, just call me the Johnny Rodz of the BoD
ReplyDeleteBut will Tony Garea get jealous? Find out tonight on BoD RAW!
ReplyDeleteHe isn't Top 5 you can't expect Top 5 standards
ReplyDeleteWell that's the thing. They are blocked out from any lapsed fans coming back when they try and tune in and hear that. If you're kid and you tune, many could fight the lame commentary too much to deal with. I'd say all us lifetime fans remember the commentary as kids fondly and that has to have impact on us staying fans.
ReplyDeleteCan I act all innocent and nice and when I lose just shrug my shoulders and have my catchphrase be "Gee Willikers"? If so, just fax me my deal now!
ReplyDeleteI'm really sick of up-and-coming stars winning their first world title via a cheap sneak-attack/cash-in. Whatever happened to, I dunno, winning it in the ring after an emotional storyline build-up followed by a memorable twenty minute match?
ReplyDeleteExactly. I'm actually going to watch a entire long match on raw I have to turn off the volume and listen to something else. I could never take raw as background noise which is a part of the reason live sporting events get such good ratings and ad dollars.
ReplyDeleteNo one in the WWE has the attention span for it?
ReplyDeleteYou get for your 3rd or 4th title.
ReplyDelete:: deal coming through the fax now ::
ReplyDeleteDolph should thank his lucky stars that he was able to be built back up and recover. I actually thought Kenny would have come out better but I think their mistake was not going the Dolph route and keeping him off tv until the stink was completely off.
ReplyDeleteAnd I already have his first opponent for WorldWide this Sunday night, at 8:05 PM Eastern on Superstation TBS:
ReplyDeleteTodd "The Hoss" Lorenz. Good luck kid... you'll need it. And a good medical plan.
Also on WorldWide this week:
-Jesse Baker and Dougie were shockingly effective partners their last time out, and they've decided to team up once again, to the shock of anyone with a brain. This week, they face the equally oddball team of rsvka and brocore.
-Mr. Satan looks to make an impact in his debut, and he's got an interesting opponent in nebb28. Will the loss of his pet rock make Nebb an easy target, or does he have something in store for the supposedly evil one?
-And one more debut that we're keeping under wraps. Maybe because it's too hot for a review, maybe because it'll suck. Nobody knows, but you can find out THIS SUNDAY AT 8:05 PM Eastern, on TBS.
In an era where most guys have their legs cut out from them after a couple of months, sometimes it's the best way to go....it made Edge into a main guy by giving him that aura of opportunistic heel and he did quite well. And it worked great as a way to put Punk straight into main events as the guy who took advantage of a Batista beating on Edge and even though it wasn't used, kind of brought it all back around.
ReplyDeleteSign, sealed, delivered, i'm yours!
ReplyDelete(A musical reference from a old person....how lame)
It's cool, I carry my own Bob The Builder band-aids so i'm covered.
ReplyDeleteI was always taught to aim high.
ReplyDeleteI hear you and for Edge it worked because he was a slime-ball heel. I do agree that it helped boost Punk and Daniel Bryan into higher profile roles on television so they could develop their characters...but I guess the traditionalist in me wants more sustained story-telling. It seems they use MITB as a crutch to get from A to B rather than actually build something.
ReplyDeleteThe GM accepts and Gosh Hopkins is on the fast track program and will begin as a parking attendant under the close supervision of NXT Superstar in the making, Archie Stackhouse.
ReplyDeleteThe horrible commentary is the main thing preventing me from watching Raw. Cole is fucking awful and always has been, Lawler clearly doesn't give a shit anymore and has been terrible ever since he went from the straight heel commentator to yelling "puppies!" and just generally being a perv, JBL has his moments but he has no chance if he's forced to work with those two. Fire Cole, put Lawler in creative, and sign McGuiness and Corino away from ROH. Nigel as the face, Corino as the heel, and JBL as the the former wrestler analyst that goes into detail about how certain moves injure certain body parts and shit like that. And most importantly, just let them kind of wing it, if Vince wants his guys to just repeat everything he says he should be doing commentary himself.
ReplyDeleteAnother idea: if Punk really is retired than have him do it, assuming they can talk him into it.
Cena fucking Mickie James was the end of Kenny.
ReplyDeleteSadly, today it seems like their are so many stops after A by the time we get to B, the monorail went out of business.
ReplyDelete"Is there a chance the track could bend?"
ReplyDelete"Not on your life, my Hindu friend!"
Que? I'm afraid I don't know that part of the story....go on
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of high 3/5 of the Top 5 is now sXe... WE'RE TAKIN OVAH!
ReplyDeleteKenny was going out with Mickie... she (allegedly) started seeing Cena on the side, and Kenny went semi-ballistic.
ReplyDeleteKenny and Mickie were engaged, maybe even married, and apparently Cena and fucking around with her and Doane found out and then Doane claimed he was fired because they had nothing to do with him and when he asked about the affair, he said that Johnny Ace told him that depending whether or not he chose to discuss what happened with Cena would determine if they hired him back in the future.
ReplyDeleteHe also alleged that Cena was fucking everyone behind his first wife's back
Stay Classy, John.
ReplyDeleteI can't see Punk turning into the product shill commentators have become. If they would let him be the yang to their ridiculous ying I could go for it, but I think Punk would be too drastic a change for a company trying to be a public brand more than a wrestling company.
ReplyDeleteOf course. But DX beat the Spirit Squad in 2 on 5 matches, including the SNME one which was an ELIMINATION MATCH that DX won without being eliminated.
ReplyDeleteMust've misread it. #WorkProblems
ReplyDeleteI've hated the MITB concept from day one. The match itself is great, but fuck that cash-in horseshit. Winner gets a world title match at Summerslam, period.
ReplyDeleteYeah!!!!
ReplyDeleteI also notice that there are 5 title belts and only one of the Top 5 have one. We must rectify this situation.
ReplyDeleteYou have the briefcase... the BoD booking committee refuses to let me go over when it counts.
ReplyDeleteFunny how in the world of wrestling the guy that gets cheated ON gets the worst of it.
ReplyDeleteOr better yet, do the match at SS, winner gets a title shot at whatever the next "special event" is, that way you're not handcuffed by having to use the MITB winner in the main of the third biggest show of the year.
ReplyDeleteYou know the briefcase is the kiss of death. I jobbed to a fucking drunk.
ReplyDeleteIs a conspiracy against the Top 5. Maybe that Brazilian Kid talked Bayless into believing that Socialist mumbo-jumbo.
This is America damn it! TBK clearly hates freedom.
ReplyDeleteWhat is funny is that they usually have nothing to do with the MitB winner so they job them for months at a time. Way to build up someone.
ReplyDeleteJust once I'd like to see them do the reverse (Maybe with Brock Lesnar) Let him win everything and make himself #1 contender (KotR, MitB, IC or US title, Royal Rumble) Vader did something similar to get a title match against Hogan.
The world belongs to the greedy.
ReplyDeleteI'm more upset I wasn't even considered for the midcard title tournament! I'm IN THE MIDCARD MAFIA! I'm pretty sure I should have had a nice run in the tourney!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they'll have a C+ title.
ReplyDeleteSad part is I know that song.
ReplyDeleteYou're a horrible person.
ReplyDeleteI think your association with me is why the bookerman has decided to bury you worse than JTG
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should change my screen name.
ReplyDelete
