I'm with you, really glad to see her get a major. Athletes like that, particularly in individual sports, who get pushed (and hyped) as hard as she did at an early age turn into flameouts more often than not.
How can it be anyone other than Jim Powers? When I was a kid, Jesse Ventura had me completely convinced that he was just a win or two away from breaking out into the big time. He put over Powers stronger than he did most mid-carders.
If we're talking post-WrestleMania 28 then I think a Cena-Ryder PPV feud could have worked since Punk was champion and Cena-Ryder could have been a co-main event deal. Like Cena-Miz at The Bash 09.
I wouldn't call him a jobber at all, I would think he won more matches than he lost. And I don't think he was really underused either, he was perfect in his role as gut that gets the crowd going in one of the early matches.
Love Brad and it sucks so much that he only had one real good run as just Brad (during the WCW Light Heavyweight title days). I will say though that Badstreet and Arachnaman just give me nostalgic flashbacks to early 90's WCW Saturday Night.
Actually they did. It was a segment called "Battle of the Underdogs" and they had like Rip Rogers vs. Jeff Stone, Bob Cook vs.John Peterson, and Joey Maggs vs. Scrap Iron Bill Ford among others. Some of those matches were actually quite good as Rogers, Cook, and Maggs for example (along with Italian Stallion and Horowitz) were pretty damn good wrestlers.

ReplyDeleteThey could've used that song, and had him place odds on his matches and bet in other matches and everything. So underused.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong here extant, but wasn't he also on Herb Abrams' UWF too?
ReplyDeletepretty sure he popped for synthetic pot, which is what caused that.
ReplyDeletewe're a bunch of racists here.
ReplyDeletethis has become pretty evident over time.
ReplyDeleteArchie Stackhouse is patient. Don't keep him waiting too long, Bayless.....

ReplyDeleteYeah the incessant Blog Otters stuff made me stop paying attention all together.

ReplyDeleteYou should have bet on that game.
ReplyDeleteShe's cute as hell.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm not booked AGAIN? The fuck Bayless, I have a belt for Christ's sake!
ReplyDeleteBy "shoot" you mean "scripted promo that you botch"?
ReplyDeleteWho's the Republican guy that wants to legalize weed, Ron Paul? He's the jobber of that group.
ReplyDelete(Heh, jobbers and weed...)
I can post it. amsterdamadamcurry@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThe Gambler was a great gimmick, but he sucked in the ring.
ReplyDeleteWhy were they even testing for that garbage? It was legal at the time.
ReplyDeleteChomo?
ReplyDeleteWasn't Parker the head trainer for the Powerplant?
ReplyDeleteDoes Hakushi count as a jobber?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ryder sucks.
Ryder really does suck.
ReplyDeleteChild molester.
ReplyDeletepossibly, or you are thinking of Surfer Ray Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteMasahiro Chomo?

ReplyDeleteGambler (among other late 90's WCW Saturday Night jobbers) was totally going to be my answer too.
ReplyDeletehe certainly isnt acute.
ReplyDeleteI read this post and was hoping that you were booking a battle royal in a War Gams cage. The neverending match.
ReplyDeletedamn that is some good predicterating.

ReplyDeleteThird time in a week he was hit in the hand/finger by a pitch, too, I believe I heard an announcer say, heh.
ReplyDeleteGotcha.
ReplyDeleteIt was on the old UWF on ESPN Classic deal. I could have sworn I remember a guy on there named Sunny Beach.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right actually
