Yeah they could have been like Scotty 2 Hotty and Brian Christopher if they came along 10 years earlier: mid-card goofballs that the fans love for being mid-card goofballs
True but back in the late-90's and early 00's, nearly everybody was given the chance to get over. That's one thing ya gotta give Russo credit for. Everyone from the opening match jobber up to Steve Austin had a storyline. 3MB shows up on Raw so infrequently that you could forget they even existed. 15 years ago they would have had feuds consistently, whether they were the jobbers in the feud or not. That's what kills WWE these days. It's not just that they're main-event storylines are (for the most-part) bad. It's that the mid-card and opening card guys have nothing. So there's no reason to care about them.
I think that's an important aspect of being a performer. No matter what you are given, make gold out of it(or at least try to) Chris Jericho's WCW run is proof of this and he mentioned it in his book. If you are given a 20 minute main event or a 2 minute promo, make the best out of it.
You could definitely see that these guys weren't resigned to just go out there and collect a paycheck. They had fun with it.
I enjoyed 3MB. They played the gimmick to perfection and seemed to enjoy themselves while doing it. They were perfect for what they were and the WWE needs more 3MB's and less 50/50 shit instead.
It's dusty in here. *sniffle*
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty well made. Silly group but the guys were at least devoted to it enough to not make it a total waste.
ReplyDeleteFucking tears.
ReplyDelete*sniffles* I never thought I'd miss Jinder Mahal. He was the fun one, ya know.
ReplyDeleteYou should see the one for JTG.
ReplyDeleteHe was.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are red because I smoked a joint with RVD...wait, pot RVD jokes are passé, I should have said, because I ate a bag of spicy Doritos with him.
ReplyDeleteLong live the streak.
ReplyDeleteThey'll always be a three man band in my heart, bay...buh. Buh...huh huh huh huh.
ReplyDelete*breaks down crying*
Link? I must see this.
ReplyDeleteAnother example of guys that would have been fucking HUGE in the previous era having no place in the wrestling business of 2014.
ReplyDeleteThere is no excuse for not getting guys with this much commitment hugely over.

ReplyDeleteThey could have gotten over in this era as well if the people in charge would have let them win a match or two.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if they had been pushed they would have gotten over.
THIS. When I first saw the gimmick, I was thinking "Wow these guys are screwed". I thought it would last a month tops
ReplyDelete3MB BAAAAYYYYY-BBBBBEEEEEEE!

ReplyDeleteThis will go GREAT on my mantle with my "Best of Braden Walker" 2 DVD set
ReplyDeleteI liked them best as the Plymouth Rockers at the pre-Thanksgiving Smackdown tapings I went to last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to Raw on June 30th and I'm legit disappointed I won't see 3MB.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they will be missed.
