Why is every great american bash except the one's from 85, 86, and 87 included?

Why do they dub over Demolition's theme music?

1)  Because those shows predate the PPV era for WCW.  They only exist as one hour edited home video releases and random matches shown on WCW programming at the time.

2)  Because they suck and don't want to pay Rick Derringer a penny more than they have to.  Not that I blame them for trying to save money wherever possible, but it's annoying as a fan.

  1. Demolition's theme is on WM6, as is Slick's. Unless they uploaded a different version recently

  3. The bad thing about no Bash '87 is not getting war games.

  4. That would be awesome if they could put a best of or even some of the matches that were on those Bash tours before the event became a PPV. I've seen the Wargames matches to death but i'd love to see some other stuff on those shows.

  5. Totally agree with you on # 2. Ditto with all the other copyrighted stuff that played on the old WCW shows. Very annoying.

I also hope that they put the old bashes on there too. Maybe a home video section or something.

At least the best of the GAB is being released on DVD in July though.

  6. Add-on to #1

The GAB was a tour throughout the summer where they would hit the big towns, sorta like a house show run but they actually adhered to title swaps and such.

So for example the 87 Bash had a couple of WarGames matches, hence why the first two are in the same year and booked basically the same way because they are literally days (like 10-20) apart.

IIRC, THe inital WarGames (my fave) was like the first day of the tour whereas the second WarGames (with the WAR MACHINE) is the last day of the tour in Miami.

  7. I was watching early SummerSlams this morning, totally heard Demolition.

  8. How much do royalties even cost? I cannot fathom that a Rick Derringer song would be anything significant. Hell, I bet 90% of the stuff from the 80's and 90's is reasonable. Sure "Voodoo Chile" is probably not cost effective, but "Eye of the Tiger"??

  9. Voodoo Chile is oddly intact

  10. Ah, thanks. I did my own stunt when I fell off the jungle gym.

  11. I'd love to see a Nikita Koloff vs. Ric Flair from Bash 86 (not 85) and a magnum TA vs. Flair from Bash 86. Surprisingly, Animal vs. Flair from the Bash 86 tour was pretty darn good - which means I guess Flair could carry a broomstick. Or maybe Animal tried harder that night.

  12. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard both of their themes on everything while going through the early PPVs. I specifically remember hearing the Demolition song when they came out #1 and #2 at Royal Rumble 1989.

There must be some software out there where you can play a sample of a song, and ask the software to mute that song if it hears it, and play a different one instead?

I desperately want to do this for Raw, as well as some of these butchered themes...

  14. Demolition theme was definitely on SummerSlam 89, just watched that last night.
