A new console that plays a bunch of retro games. Works with NES, SNES, Gameboy, Genesis, Master System, and some other old console game cartridges too.
If this is true, R.I.P. Farva, and I'm sorry for his family. My main memory of him is us disagreeing, then agreeing, on something in the same discussion. The fact I can't remember the subject shows how trivial any disagreements on freakin' pro wrestling are in the grand scheme of things. Let's all have a safe weekend with our loved ones.
RIP Farva, I hope he is in a better place. I hoping he wasn't posting to BOD instead of paying attention to traffic. This is really crazy. Peace and love.
Man he had some funny ass posts, I was just kind of flipping through them and theres some really good stuff there even out of the context of the conversation it was in. Well I'm done at work for the weekend. Might stop in at joltin joes or something and pour one out for my old BoD buddy. Good dude, obviously I will miss his contributions here but of course I can't even imagine how much worse his family and IRL friends miss him. Sad sad sad news man.
Originally if you preordered you could get them for $77.99, they had a price boost tho after delays but people who preordered them got em for that price. And amazon sells em for $139.99. I got mine for like $150 at a local shop and that's cheaper than buying all the consoles separately.
I never much interacted with him but he was a part of this place that I've been frequenting for the past several years and so it is terrible to hear, if it's true. Hope his family and anyone near him is doing okay. Now he can fantasy book all those Heaven cards people discuss.
Nothing would be better than seeing Farva post in this thread; "Rumors of my demise...have been greatly exaggerated..."
"Son of a bitch..."
Really though. R.I.P.
While this is nothing more than a forum in which we casually discuss wrestling, among other things with each other, we forget that we really do spend alot of time together. I cant think of anyone else (other than my gf) that ill randomly talk to at like 4am about some random stuff.
You know, back in January, my photographer at work went AWOL and no one heard from him for a couple of days. Most of his long-time friends said not to worry about it, that he was probably just chasing some tail and he'd be in touch soon.
After he missed a big event that he would have loved to cover, I got especially concerned and asked the police to check on him. They found him dead in his apartment. He'd had a stroke and had no way to get a hold of any body. I felt like crap for not having someone check on him sooner.
I kind of feel the same way today. The rain and dreariness doesn't help (it was dreary and rainy in January when I got the news about my photog, too).
Here's to Farva. He's already been missed here at the BoD, but we shall continue to miss him.
Hey all, Parallax told me about Farva earlier through FB. I'm still in shock. By the way, I don't know why I found this interesting or surprising but Farva was born in South Korea.
I contacted his sister earlier saying I was sorry and explaining how I knew him. I didn't give her the site or his username but I told her I would tell her both if she wanted to know.
What I keep thinking about is how me and Farva talked about meeting up one day at Hogans bar/restaurant and him buying me a drink. I'm pissed at myself that we didn't do it sooner.
I'm sure you could leave an anonymous message, too. I'm sure his family wouldn't expect to know all of his friends. Honestly, you could sign it however you're comfortable, as long as you leave a respectful message.
My father was buried about 6 weeks after he passed, my aunt died in December and still hasn't had he funeral. Though they were both cremated right after they passed.
Scott should put a mention of him in the top banner or atleast his avatar. Although I doubt he'll even know about this until someone directly emails him
I was told I looked white as a ghost a couple hours ago. I didn't know really what to say "Yeah, this dude I used to argue with on a website died" I didn't always agree with him (mostly not) but this sucks. No one should fucking die at 31 given any circumstance.
I dunno, I'm just used to someone dying and being buried the next week. Guess I hadn't dealt with a death where the person died and had to be transported.
It's not common, but you never know what the family's situation is, or how they choose to mourn/pay respects to their loved ones. They may want family from out of the country to come to the service, which could take time.
I'm still curious how he died. I know a car hit him and he said he was on something when he made his last post literally hours before he died. Did he walk in front of that car on purpose? Or was he drunk or messed up on drugs and didn't even see the car coming? Either way, this sucks. RIP Farva.
I always associated the two of you together for whatever reason. You were near each other in post counts, the three of us usually had our own conversations completely separate from what else was going on in a post. Just kind of linked the two of you up in my head.
From what we found out about the highway he died on, they average 52 deaths a year. So I assume its a popular crossing spot that people try to run across to get to the other side
We connected some dots with email addresses, his location, an obit and a news story about a pedestrian being hit by a Cadillac. Everything just seems to add up.
I was gonna do a /Meltzer "it is, unless otherwise rumored, meaning it's not" , but... Nope... Just doesn't feel right, even though I believe he was on the same boat as me when it comes to Meltzer jokes. But yep, this sucks.
UPDATE: I am right now speaking to his sister Emily via Facebook. The man in the accident does seem to be our very own OFFICERFARVA. Going to send her to this thread, so if there's any thing you want to say about him, then now is the time..
Wow....I didn't realize this comment didn't relate at all to what the thread was about. Just figured it was a Saturday night thread because well, several of us are guilty of coming into the Saturday night thread and posting drunk.
When I was a lurker, I always saw Farva's antics and thought he was great. He seemed like a fun loving, genuine person. And the Punk baby profile was the best. Rest in Peace sweet prince. I hope they have some good strip clubs in heaven.
It's pretty good from my experience, I don't have the biggest library of old games to test from but I only seem to have one it doesn't recognize (Super Street Fighter 2 on Genesis), and they've been putting out firmware updates fairly frequently to boost compatibility and fix issues that people are having.
There's very clearly a community of people who enjoy each other's company, even if it is only virtual. Farva (along with parallax) was a big part of drawing me in more when I was just kind of lurking to the point where I'm posting a lot here.
I may not have known the real dude, but I appreciated the hell out of who he was around these parts.
Just out of curiosity - how many folks here are connected via social media to others on the Blog? I'm Facebook friends with 4 or 5 of you, but I was wondering how normal that is.
i've exchanged e-mails with caliber back when he was a regular, and i've exchanged a couple of e-mails with magoonie
there's another poster from here who wouldn't know farva b/c he doesn't dig deep enough, but he's a real life friend from college i still talk to on FB
I wasn't at all until like a few months ago. Now I have you, Hoss, Magoonie, Stranger, and... Caliber. I am willing to accept more though if anyone is interested.
Farva, I'm going to miss you man. You were one of the first guys here that gave me respect when I pulled a Caliber joke on my first night, and then one of your last post to me was an approved one as well. May you rest in piece, and may we see you on the other side.
Me either. I have a couple people's email addresses, but outside of that only way to get a hold of me is through here. Though that is my real name, if I go missing.
Since I'm not too regular a commenter, I'm not friends with anyone here. But I am friends with three kids who prank called the comic shop i used to work at, so normal is relative is the thesis there
I don't think it's weird. He was someone who you interacted with on a regular basis, even if it was behind a screen. Losing anyone to death is terrible, and it's perfectly reasonable to be upset about it.
It's linked to the internet and can download patches? No shit, that justifies the $80 right there. Still, I got a really nice Logitech PS2 knockoff controller and I just go the emulator route. Every once in a while I go to my mom's house (I keep them there because my house is falling apart) and hook my NES and NEO-GEO CD up to the old CRT she has in her sewing room and jam out proper like.
Honestly this is probably the most active board I'm on. I don't bother with the social media stuff, job's a bunch of uptight asses that "frown upon" it and even honester, I'm not really a social creature. For the most part, Farva was good poster, shame he went out like that. Not that it might have changed anything, but I feel bad I just rolled my eyes on all his "so wasted/drunk/high" stuff and never suggested he take a page out of his "favorite" wrestler's book.
Nah, not linked to the internet. they release firmware updates on their website which you put on an SD card and can update your console with, still better than nothing like previous clone systems where if something didn't work it just didn't work.
It runs some sort of version of Android, as it's OS. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before people do custom firmware that'll play ROMs.
I have a composite to HDMI up scaler that I was using for my NES to stream before and I have to say, games look way nicer on this than using that.
I'm still in such a daze about all this. I never met Farva in real life but I considered him a friend. I am really regretting never taking the trip out to Tampa to meet him, he offered countless times.
True, but retro games and HDMI don't pair well. The Retron 5 has a smoothing option, much like many of the classic games in the Playstation store offer, and on the Ultimate Genesis collection.
What the fuck is a retron 5?
ReplyDeleteA new console that plays a bunch of retro games. Works with NES, SNES, Gameboy, Genesis, Master System, and some other old console game cartridges too.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of games, did you ever get the emulator working kid?
ReplyDeleteTo the game store!
ReplyDeletenevermind. That's crazy expensive.
ReplyDeleteIf this is true, R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteFor u fortunate reasons, this thread will be up there in infamy
ReplyDeleteIt's cheaper than buying all the old systems would be.
ReplyDeleteWhoa Retron 5 actually came out?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was able to purchase one at a local store. Online they're impossible to find without ebay markups.
ReplyDeleteRIP Farva, I hope he is in a better place. I hoping he wasn't posting to BOD instead of paying attention to traffic. This is really crazy. Peace and love.
ReplyDeleteI would talk to Scott before putting anything about this on the main page
ReplyDeleteMan he had some funny ass posts, I was just kind of flipping through them and theres some really good stuff there even out of the context of the conversation it was in. Well I'm done at work for the weekend. Might stop in at joltin joes or something and pour one out for my old BoD buddy. ReplyDeleteFarva is on the way out. He should do the time honored tradition and job to Punk.
ReplyDeleteI would put it in the Friday night thread in the comments section
ReplyDeletehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CNeI1e_q974CFW4Q7Aod2h4ACg&Item=N82E16868181036&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Retro+Video+Game+Console-_-N82E16868181036&ef_id=U5tyYAAAASHbhF2I:20140613215128:s
ReplyDeleteWhoa... way too fucking expensive.
Originally if you preordered you could get them for $77.99, they had a price boost tho after delays but people who preordered them got em for that price. And amazon sells em for $139.99. I got mine for like $150 at a local shop and that's cheaper than buying all the consoles separately.

i wonder if his family even has the slightest sense that there are a bunch faceless strangers mourning him
ReplyDelete*steps outside into the rain*
ReplyDeleteFAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRVAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
*checks cell for texts*
And way more expensive than some emulators and an HDMI cable.
ReplyDeleteHey Bayless, time to end our worked feud, bro. In honor of Farva, who would have wanted it to continue. Which makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be that guy, but he would have M.D or D.O proudly displayed on the obit.
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would pay me to just sit at home out of spite.
ReplyDeleteNow theres no arguing with that.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree
ReplyDeleteI'm just not a big fan of clone systems.
ReplyDeletenot necessarily, though i guess it's possible
ReplyDelete*shakes your hand* You're a good writer. I'm a fan of 1986 WWF.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good writer too. I enjoy old ECW recaps and enjoy the era.
ReplyDelete*shakes hand*
Also, did you get the email about the fact/fiction, true/false segment?
What about 1987 WWF?
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the great titty bar in the sky, Farva. RIP.
ReplyDelete*BoD crowd boo-urns b/c neither guy ended up short-arm clotheslining the other
ReplyDeletequestion: which one of walks in on farva taking a shower, revealing that today has just been a dream?
ReplyDeleteMy money is on parallax.
ReplyDeleteChecking now. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteOn the obit page that was linked to downthread, you can leave a message for the family. Although, it might be weird if we all started doing that...
ReplyDeleteNot as good as 1987 WCW.
ReplyDeleteHow do you search him to read his old posts and not just mentions of him?
ReplyDeleteFair enough. But as someone who's owned a Retron 3 and replaced it with the Retron 5, I can tell you this thing was light years a head.
ReplyDeleteYou know, back in January, my photographer at work went AWOL and no one heard from him for a couple of days. Most of his long-time friends said not to worry about it, that he was probably just chasing some tail and he'd be in touch soon.

Hey all, Parallax told me about Farva earlier through FB. I'm still in shock. By the way, I don't know why I found this interesting or surprising but Farva was born in South Korea.
ReplyDeleteClick on "Scott's Blog of Doom!" next to comments then click on his name.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI believe he mentioned he was half Asian.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty fucking depressing, to be honest.
Would it be weird if we all showed up at Farva's funeral? It's listed as being July 24 in Bethlehem, Pa.
ReplyDeleteI contacted his sister earlier saying I was sorry and explaining how I knew him. I didn't give her the site or his username but I told her I would tell her both if she wanted to know.
ReplyDeleteLet's send a black wreath from the Blog of Doom.
ReplyDeleteThey'd say "who the hell is Farva?"
ReplyDeletethe e-mail you get (or got) is from me, brah
ReplyDeleteA little weird, but his family would probably love it.
ReplyDeleteserious question: what do you write in such a message? especially, signed with what as the sender? "your online friends"?
ReplyDelete(that also shows how weird it is that you get to know some people online... but on the other hand don't "really" know them)
THat's really fucking late.
ReplyDeletei thought the same thing
ReplyDeleteI mean, transporting the body and then scheduling something, I've seen longer service times.
ReplyDeleteWhat I keep thinking about is how me and Farva talked about meeting up one day at Hogans bar/restaurant and him buying me a drink. I'm pissed at myself that we didn't do it sooner.
ReplyDeleteWell this is an incredibly fucked up thing to get home and read. RIP.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you could leave an anonymous message, too. I'm sure his family wouldn't expect to know all of his friends. Honestly, you could sign it however you're comfortable, as long as you leave a respectful message.
ReplyDeletefuck death. that's all.
ReplyDeleteMy father was buried about 6 weeks after he passed, my aunt died in December and still hasn't had he funeral. Though they were both cremated right after they passed.
ReplyDeleteScott should put a mention of him in the top banner or atleast his avatar. Although I doubt he'll even know about this until someone directly emails him

ReplyDeleteI didn't always agree with him (mostly not) but this sucks. No one should fucking die at 31 given any circumstance.
Only bad people
ReplyDeleteI dunno, I'm just used to someone dying and being buried the next week. Guess I hadn't dealt with a death where the person died and had to be transported.
ReplyDeleteso you're confirming it, then?
ReplyDeletethe reason i ask if b/c even though all the evidence adds up, we never had a way to confirm
i immediately thought of you as the main conduit for doing so since you'd mentioned to me in an e-mail that you knew his real name
Like Hitler or Michael Jackson.
ReplyDeleteYeah I saw the email soon after Parallax messages me. But from everything I know about him and where he lives, yeah that's him.
ReplyDeleteOr Kris Jenner.
ReplyDeleteI hope I live to see the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's not common, but you never know what the family's situation is, or how they choose to mourn/pay respects to their loved ones. They may want family from out of the country to come to the service, which could take time.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that as a compliment... a weird compliment... but a compliment
ReplyDeleteor jason voohee's victims (wait, they're all stupid teenagers... nevermind)
ReplyDeletehow did you know how to contact her?
ReplyDeleteI'm still curious how he died. I know a car hit him and he said he was on something when he made his last post literally hours before he died. Did he walk in front of that car on purpose? Or was he drunk or messed up on drugs and didn't even see the car coming? Either way, this sucks. RIP Farva.
ReplyDeleteThat hasn't been figured out yet. Bayless thinks that it was a suicide.
ReplyDeleteI always associated the two of you together for whatever reason. You were near each other in post counts, the three of us usually had our own conversations completely separate from what else was going on in a post. Just kind of linked the two of you up in my head.
ReplyDeleteShe's the Devil. Her daughters are awful but they wouldn't have gotten that way without Lucifer guiding them.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend that lives in Bethlehem... I don't know about the etiquette of such a thing though.
ReplyDeleteFrom what we found out about the highway he died on, they average 52 deaths a year. So I assume its a popular crossing spot that people try to run across to get to the other side
ReplyDeletei move that farva get the honorary #1 posting spot for the BoD
ReplyDeleteI just got up. (I work third shift). I'm not trying to be funny or whatever, but is this legit? I mean, just wow.
ReplyDeletedont be like green lantern dude (who crashed someone's funeral.. candido?)
ReplyDeleteAbout Farva? We're not 100 percent, but we're pretty close.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree with that. I always thought of him as part of my... graduating class for lack of a better term on the BoD
ReplyDeleteOkay. Holy shit. That sucks.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand this post at all
ReplyDeleteWell this is a fuck of a homecoming. Is there any way to send a card to someone? Did he have a family or some such?
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad we can't all get together and sign a card to send to the funeral service.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone throw up a link to the thread where he made his last post? I must have missed it.
ReplyDeleteWe connected some dots with email addresses, his location, an obit and a news story about a pedestrian being hit by a Cadillac. Everything just seems to add up.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.rspwfaq.net/2014/05/rf-video-shoot-interview-with-gary-hart.html
ReplyDeleteThere was a link to the funeral home handling the arrangements. You can probably send it to the family that way.
ReplyDeletehttp://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Mark-Haas&lc=5088&pid=171291532&mid=6004183
He went to Candido's wake
ReplyDeleteI was gonna do a /Meltzer "it is, unless otherwise rumored, meaning it's not" , but... Nope... Just doesn't feel right, even though I believe he was on the same boat as me when it comes to Meltzer jokes. But yep, this sucks.
ReplyDeleteHurricane?
ReplyDeletegreen lantern fan
ReplyDeletegreen lantern fan from roh attended candido's private wake
ReplyDeletequit downvoting me, GLF
ReplyDeleteI don't know who that is, or the story behind it.
ReplyDelete"Who is Pet Rock, Porn Peddling and Virgil's gimmick table? What kind of freak underworld was he a part of??"
ReplyDeleteHow is the one you got? I am a fan of ones that actually work properly.

UPDATE: I am right now speaking to his sister Emily via Facebook. The man in the accident does seem to be our very own OFFICERFARVA. Going to send her to this thread, so if there's any thing you want to say about him, then now is the time..
ReplyDelete"Extant? Parallax? Buck Nasty? What the hell is all this?"
ReplyDeleteWow....I didn't realize this comment didn't relate at all to what the thread was about. Just figured it was a Saturday night thread because well, several of us are guilty of coming into the Saturday night thread and posting drunk.
ReplyDeleteWow. Damn.
ReplyDeletehold up on sending the thread
ReplyDeletedid you search for her name?
ReplyDeleteWe trolled each other a couple times, that was it, but RIP Farva. What a terrible shame.
ReplyDeleteYou should impersonate Farva and blow everyone's mind
ReplyDeleteWell, fuck. That blows. I honestly don't have any words at the moment.
ReplyDeleteUnless of course this is like that scene in The Dark Knight and we're faking his death to fake out Punk.
ReplyDeletei thought that you were just a dick to me, but no, you're just an all around dick
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not sure that's a good idea. Maybe if we can get Scott to post an official RIP Farva thread, you can send her that way.
ReplyDeleteAnd I only type that because I didn't have to know the guy to know this is how a BoD poster wants to be remembered. And you WILL be remembered, Farva.
ReplyDeleteShe might be a Shane Douglas fan or curious if Orton will be on RAW
ReplyDelete^Better idea.
ReplyDeleteGive it a rest
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a lurker, I always saw Farva's antics and thought he was great. He seemed like a fun loving, genuine person. And the Punk baby profile was the best. Rest in Peace sweet prince. I hope they have some good strip clubs in heaven.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I usually don't take issue with you, but you're going a bit overboard here. Just, as a courtesy, please show some respect here.
ReplyDeletei remember when you were posting about it as it happened
ReplyDeleteIt feels so weird to be upset about the death of a person I almost was certainly never going to meet. But there you go.
ReplyDeleteI did send her the blog info, so she might be looking it over, but if there's an official thread I will send it her way as well.
ReplyDelete"i see references to a 'top 5 handshake.' was he in a gang?!"
ReplyDeleteI feel you there. I want to make one of my usual smart-ass comments, but I'm just not in the mood right now.
ReplyDeleteDamn I guess we have confirmation now... I have never so badly wanted to be wrong before.
ReplyDeleteSending her to the blog to read his posts might not have been a good idea...
ReplyDeleteLook, I think we all can agree that Farva should have given us his notice. Petulant child. *taps chest, points to sky*
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty good from my experience, I don't have the biggest library of old games to test from but I only seem to have one it doesn't recognize (Super Street Fighter 2 on Genesis), and they've been putting out firmware updates fairly frequently to boost compatibility and fix issues that people are having.
ReplyDeleteMight as well lock down this thread, nothing is topping that.
ReplyDeleteThrow a few bars in there too.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I just didn't expect to ever get actual confirmation.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting alone at work and it feels surreal.
ReplyDeleteRIP Farva, you were a good man
Me neither.
ReplyDeleteHe's our Warrior.
ReplyDeleteFirst thing that has made me laugh in several hours.
ReplyDelete:claps:
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Yeah it does, but we are like a family if sorts here.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing that now...
ReplyDeleteI feel awful. Especially for Farva's friends and family. A tragic loss
ReplyDeleteweird to think that on a whim i decided to throw out the question of his real name, and we got confirmation
ReplyDeletewe might never have known
Can BoD Raw be a Farva tribute show?
ReplyDeleteHe would have been another Flair4theGold.
ReplyDeleteThere's very clearly a community of people who enjoy each other's company, even if it is only virtual. Farva (along with parallax) was a big part of drawing me in more when I was just kind of lurking to the point where I'm posting a lot here.
ReplyDeleteI may not have known the real dude, but I appreciated the hell out of who he was around these parts.
Do it still, show them how much he was loved.
ReplyDeleteI think Bayless said he's working on a tribute show for tonight.
ReplyDeleteHe still owes me a pizza... I wish I would have insisted he order it for me that night instead of doing whatever he ended up doing.
ReplyDelete"those weirdos sure do have a messed up notion of 'love'"
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity - how many folks here are connected via social media to others on the Blog? I'm Facebook friends with 4 or 5 of you, but I was wondering how normal that is.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any social media.
ReplyDeletei've exchanged e-mails with caliber back when he was a regular, and i've exchanged a couple of e-mails with magoonie
ReplyDeletethere's another poster from here who wouldn't know farva b/c he doesn't dig deep enough, but he's a real life friend from college i still talk to on FB
Bro hug?
ReplyDeleteI wasn't at all until like a few months ago. Now I have you, Hoss, Magoonie, Stranger, and... Caliber. I am willing to accept more though if anyone is interested.
ReplyDeleteand they wonder why they can't meet a nice girl, being all reclusive
ReplyDeleteFarva, I'm going to miss you man. You were one of the first guys here that gave me respect when I pulled a Caliber joke on my first night, and then one of your last post to me was an approved one as well. May you rest in piece, and may we see you on the other side.
ReplyDeleteMe either. I have a couple people's email addresses, but outside of that only way to get a hold of me is through here. Though that is my real name, if I go missing.
ReplyDeleteI used to have Scotsman but he unfriended me
ReplyDeleteAre you under Parallax or Chris Walker?
ReplyDeleteOnce you looked me up, I always kind of wanted to connect with Farva, too, because we palled around a lot here. I feel bad for never acting on it.
ReplyDeleteBro hug.
ReplyDeleteBeing reclusive is how you meet the really nice girls.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm not too regular a commenter, I'm not friends with anyone here. But I am friends with three kids who prank called the comic shop i used to work at, so normal is relative is the thesis there
ReplyDeleteYou were friends with caliber......?
ReplyDeletefacebook.com/parallax1978
ReplyDeleteThis.
ReplyDeleteStill is. I am, too.
ReplyDeleteStill am. He is entertaining in his own way
ReplyDeleteThe best part of Caliber on FB was him not being able to figure out that Chris Walker was parallax. Funniest FB comment ever.
ReplyDeleteLOL yes... I had to close the door to my office I was laughing so hard.
ReplyDeletePut him in the HoF.
ReplyDeleteI thought about making a facebook. I had 2 before but deleted them after a bit.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's weird. He was someone who you interacted with on a regular basis, even if it was behind a screen. Losing anyone to death is terrible, and it's perfectly reasonable to be upset about it.
ReplyDeleteWhich thread is that?
ReplyDeleteI'm friends with Para (I was the first), I think I tried adding you but you never accepted the request. Other than that, no one.
ReplyDeleteIs there a BoD HoF? If not, he should be the Andre of it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I don't recall getting that. Try again, brother and I'll add you.
ReplyDeleteWell....Now Owen, Brian, Eddie, Rude, Andre, Warrior, Henning, and Savage have one of us to cheer them on.
ReplyDeleteThat's my idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's linked to the internet and can download patches? No shit, that justifies the $80 right there. Still, I got a really nice Logitech PS2 knockoff controller and I just go the emulator route. Every once in a while I go to my mom's house (I keep them there because my house is falling apart) and hook my NES and NEO-GEO CD up to the old CRT she has in her sewing room and jam out proper like.

For the most part, Farva was good poster, shame he went out like that. Not that it might have changed anything, but I feel bad I just rolled my eyes on all his "so wasted/drunk/high" stuff and never suggested he take a page out of his "favorite" wrestler's book.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your account?
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't have helped. I tried several times to get him to get his problems under control but well you know...
ReplyDeleteAre you Magoonie?
ReplyDeleteYou still haven't friended me and I gave you a direct link!
ReplyDeleteBURN!
ReplyDeleteNah, not linked to the internet. they release firmware updates on their website which you put on an SD card and can update your console with, still better than nothing like previous clone systems where if something didn't work it just didn't work.
ReplyDeleteIt runs some sort of version of Android, as it's OS. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before people do custom firmware that'll play ROMs.
I have a composite to HDMI up scaler that I was using for my NES to stream before and I have to say, games look way nicer on this than using that.
Another casualty of the wrestling (fan) business.
ReplyDeleteI bet he has front row tickets!
ReplyDeleteCan't display at this time, I'll get you later.
ReplyDeleteI'm still in such a daze about all this. I never met Farva in real life but I considered him a friend. I am really regretting never taking the trip out to Tampa to meet him, he offered countless times.
ReplyDeleteI just requested ya..
ReplyDeleteI know, I feel so sad about not meeting him either.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected, nothing is topping THIS.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but retro games and HDMI don't pair well. The Retron 5 has a smoothing option, much like many of the classic games in the Playstation store offer, and on the Ultimate Genesis collection.
ReplyDeleteThis is bigger than Caliber!
ReplyDeleteI don't think i am friends with anyone here. I accept pretty much anyone that isn't some Nigerian scam artist.

ReplyDeleteWhat is so hard about that?
So does the Retron 5 have wi-if capability?
