More Possible Brock Lesnar Appearances?
It was previously reported that WWE and Brock Lesnar worked out a deal for more appearances in a pay-per-appearance deal, but WWE has not yet utilized that deal. That may be about to change. According to the WON, Lesnar is not yet booked for Survivor Series or TLC, but are in discussions with him about where they can use him in order to build to Royal Rumble. The winner of this weekend's John Cena/Randy Orton match gets a future shot at the title, which more than likely will happen at the Rumble if he is not used on the next two shows.
Randy Orton Babyface?
According to the WON, there are discussions about turning Orton babyface. John Cena and Randy Orton are leading the two house show circuits and Orton is not drawing well as a heel, and they would like to turn that around. The seeds have already been planted for an Orton/Seth Rollins feud, and with Orton giving Paul Heyman the RKO on RAW. This may suggest that Orton will be the one to face Brock Lesnar for that title shot.
Rey Mysterio Done with WWE?
According to the WON, former WWE Spanish announcer Hugo Savinovich has said that Rey Mysterio is done with WWE and wants to work for AAA or Lucha Underground. WWE would like Mysterio to return, but Rey does not want to come back. He is still under WWE contract and is permitted to make appearances elsewhere off-camera.
How Much On-Screen Content Does TNA Have Left?
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, TNA has enough footage from their most recent tapings to air episodes up to the 11/19/14 episode of Impact. After that, in order to fulfill their deal with Spike TV, TNA will air recap shows with older footage. This gives TNA until the beginning of 2015 to secure a new TV deal.

Orton as top anything does nothing for me.
ReplyDeleteReruns are a guaranteed ratings draw. Everything is fine!
ReplyDeleteSo if this is it for him, what was Rey's last WWE match? Probably would've been some lame tag, that's all I can remember him doing before getting injured for the 2,814th time.
ReplyDelete"TNA has enough footage from their most recent tapings to air episodes up

HA! I TOLD YOU PEOPLE THAT CM PUNK WOULD APPEAR ON IMPACT BY YEAR'S END!
I hope that if they don't find a new deal (not that I'm hoping they don't, but let's be real) that the last compilation episode is something like "the Best of Curry Man" or something. Or if it's a collection of random matches, that the last match shown is Sting/Flair. They had to have fought in TNA at least once, right?

ReplyDeleteI'd love it if they overdubbed new commentary and pretended it was live.
ReplyDeleteLesnar needs to be at Survivor Series and face an opponent who has the odds stacked against them .
ReplyDeleteThe Viper is slithering his way to becoming a babyface. The Age of Orton is upon us again! They are hearing voices in their head.
I miss WCW era Rey Mysterio and don't care for the steroid, broken down version so he can do what he wants.
TNA really needs to start pirating their own shows.
Yep, that may be the thing that kills off interest in TNA for good.
ReplyDeletejust like your favorite federation
ReplyDeleteDo these tapings end on some kind of a cliffhanger? I'm interested to see how they storyline explain why there's no TNA for 2 months.
ReplyDeleteDepends. If they do all the great matches they had, but people might have missed, may be a decent placeholder for a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThey are still screwed mind you.
I would just like to do WWF1987 a favor here and point out that Meltzer has NO SOURCES INSIDE OF TNA! He has no idea how many hours of footage they have shot in an empty arena or how many turkey on a pole matches are ready to be shown on iMpact just in time for Thanksgivibg. I don't dven understand what the point of posting anything he has to say about TNA. HE HAS NO SOURCES!!!
ReplyDeleteSo there's rumours of Cena vs. Brock at the Rumble, which makes me think that there's a strong possibility Cena beats Brock and faces Rusev for the title at Mania.
ReplyDeleteYawn...
ReplyDeleteNope. Brock v Roman for Wrestlemania. Ruzev v Cena doesn't need a title.
ReplyDeleteI didn't say it was written in stone...but the possibility is there.
ReplyDeleteNope.
ReplyDeleteBrock vs Rock
Roman vs Orton
Hogan vs Cena
RUSEV vs Sheamus
I don't know that I could handle that much awesomeness in a single WrestleMania card. And by awesomeness, I mean bullshit.
ReplyDeleteI'm in no mood to defend TNA today. Last night's show was awful.
ReplyDeleteI'll wrestle at Wrestlemania before Hogan ever does. Don't worry about it.
ReplyDeleteWhy must Brock always face John fucking Cena. Goddamnit.
ReplyDeleteHave Lesnar go 4 on 1 and eliminate all guys. Builds him up even more for whoever they choose to beat him eventually. Which will be Cena.
ReplyDeleteI hope you like jobbing to Cena! It's best for business!
ReplyDeleteRatings will severely drop without new material. I would predict these recap shows going down to 0.3-0.4 level very quickly one people realize there's not going to be new content.
ReplyDeleteHow freaking hard is it to book WrestleMania these days? Brock v. Bryan for the title, The Rock v. Triple H, Sting v. Cena in the special attraction match, Ambrose v. Rollins v. Reigns in the culmination of the Shield split, Orton v. Rusev in the 'Murica match, and then fill out your card with an Intercontinental Title match, the 2nd ARMBAR and a Tag Title match, with a Divas Title match on the Pre-Show.
ReplyDeleteBryan ain't coming back.
ReplyDeleteThe Rock ain't coming back.
Sting ain't coming period.
You gotta put midgets somewhere.
Try again.
No chance Brock is facing Roman at Wrestlemania - that is laughable right now
ReplyDeleteRoman dropped the ball last week on RAW. He's the latest addition to the Adam Rose Express.
ReplyDeletei gotta say ... they should do absolutely nothing different with Orton. This tweener-lone wolf thing might be perfect for him where he can just be RKO bitches left and right, whether its Cena or Heyman or Ambrose or anyone. Just see where it goes, where the fans take it. Of course they won't do that, they'll turn him babyface then kill him dead and he' wrestle Jack Swagger in a heatless Wrestlemania match because thats what's best for business.
ReplyDeleteOh TNA....
ReplyDeleteCan somebody please explain why Orton has this special spot in Vince's heart? He's not drawing as a heel? Well let's turn him face! That will solve the problem. Anybody else would lose their top spot and be shunted down the card. I just don't get it.
ReplyDeletethey should do Rollins's cash-in at WM. That would be pretty epic if done correctly.
ReplyDeleteCena vs. Brock vs. Orton for the title, Rusev vs. Bo Dallas, Dean Ambrose vs. Sky Low Low and Little Beaver in a handicap match, Reigns vs. Triple H in the Wanks-a-Lot Challenge, Rosa Mendes vs. Naomi in an Iron Man Match, and Mr. T's Mom vs. Shelton Benjamin's Mom vs. Brodus Clay's Mom in a Triple Threat with special guest referee Kevin Federline.
ReplyDeleteIt starts with 'Fuck You', and ends with '—WWE'.
ReplyDeleteIt's ten years since the first time Orton didn't draw as a face. When will this END?! :(
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty sad that Rey got the reaction he got coming at #30 at the Rumble - must be a shitty feeling after all the years you've put in where you're used to being one of the more popular guys on the roster. Still - I'm happy with him not showing up on TV again
ReplyDeleteHe's got The Look.
ReplyDeleteI seriously find him to be one of the most underrated wrestlers ever when it comes to the IWC. I get that he's been over exposed as he's been there a long time, and is rarely injured, but the guy has the "IT" factor for sure. I have no doubt he'll be over as a face, much to the major chagrin of everyone on here.
ReplyDeleteOK, now we're getting somewhere!
ReplyDeleteLet's throw Undertaker in to make it a four way and call it a day.
It's his own fault for not being Daniel Bryan. I think a LOT of fans turned on him during the Inspired By Guerrero's Ghost period. He always had a certain level of boos after that.
ReplyDeletelol what
ReplyDeletePretty much.
ReplyDeleteThey should jump all over the vine thing.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta respect the guy that tried to steal your child (even if it allegedly was actually Eddie's all along...)
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about Oryon lately. His biggest problem might be his workload. Because just about every match he's in hits somewhere between 2 and 3 1/2 stars regardless of opponent we see him in a LOT of 20 minute Raw matches. Because he's solid but not particularly dynamic it's easy to get sick of him.
ReplyDeleteBesides reducing his workload, the best thing for him would be to speed up his "turn cycles." He's always great right after he turns (Legacy feud, pre-Abeyance Bryan feud, WM Taker match) but it burns out so, so quickly.
He's a guy that really needs to on a Big Show turn schedule where he ping pings between face and heel. It might be the only way to keep him interesting.
Against...?
ReplyDeleteThey already did. But then they will get backlash for ruining it and "cool dad'ing" it or something. But if they don't jump on it, then they're idiots and they totally should have jumped on it. (snarkier mood than usual today, I will be careful) :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rusev vs Sheamus would be lucky to hit **.
ReplyDeleteAre you challenging me?! Challenge accepted! Pillowfight ala Wrestlemania 19.
ReplyDeleteWWE hasn't posted any Touts since July.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.wwe.com/inside/tout
Hogan.
ReplyDeleteWell, no, I wasn't. But, I do have this thong I've been dying to try out....
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that the "R-Gay-O" chant never caught on.
ReplyDeleteDid they? Totally missed it.
ReplyDeleteThe point which you seem to have forgotten is that MELTZER has NO SOURCES WITHIN TNA! Last nights show may have been awful, but wrestling needs competition so I NEED TNA TO SUCCEED. It's pointless to post this MELTZER BS like its gospel when he HAS NO SOURCES. I REPEAT MELTZER HAS NO SOURCES!
ReplyDeleteor the "gay sex predator"!!
ReplyDeleteTNA should pull a Sopranos and end randomly with a dark screen.
ReplyDeletewell, on wwe.com, the shockmaster debut. Pretty good.
ReplyDeleteHis character needs tweaking as well. He's been the same stoic, stolid-faced, slow-walk-to-the-ring guy for so long now. It's boring and hence, he's boring.
ReplyDeleteBecause he's a workhorse that can drag just about anybody to a good 10 minute match?
ReplyDeleteBecause his baseline overness is higher than most of the roster?
I'm bored with him too, but he's earned his spot.
Does he deserve tenure though? Next year will be his 12th at the main event level. Twelve years! We're all growing old watching these solid but dull 10 minutes matches.
ReplyDeleteOr Blandy Boreton.
ReplyDeleteThat's part of what I mean. He moves faster when he's a face. Than slows down with the heel turns. Switching that up more often would help.
ReplyDeleteGet it? Cause he uses the occasional rest hold!!!! LULZ
ReplyDeleteBrock/Bryan
ReplyDeleteRock/HHH
Sting/Wyatt
Cena/Cesaro
Ambrose/Rollins/Reigns
Ziggler/whoever
NXT guys doing whatever
Boom.
I love the restholds. He's trying to piss us off and succeeding.
ReplyDelete"Why do his matches make mad at him!?!"
"Because he's a fucking heel."
Yeah, but what's the real diff between face Orton and heel Orton? Not much and why would you put him on a Big Show schedule? It's not like Big Show is causing people to stay their hands instead of changing the channel. If anything, that'll cause people to get even more bored of Orton.
ReplyDelete
