Highspots got out of control after this and so it looks tame in comparison, but I thought that Michaels table bump was the most awesome thing I'd ever seen when this first took place.
I watched Foley/Taker a few days ago for the first time in actually a very, very long time and from a technical standpoint it's so far off a lot of the great Cell matches, for obvious reasons. I don't even know how to rate it if I'd be so inclined to try. But it's one of the most compelling, amazing things I've ever seen, wrestling or otherwise. So I'd say Foley made the right decision even at the risk of his health, because 16 years later it's still rightfully talked about, and will be for a long time to come.
I echo the rest of the love the BODers are giving this one. One of the all-time great combinations of action, storytelling, and booking. It's crazy to think this might only be their third best match...
This is my testimony about the good work of a man who helped me..My name is Olivia Jane Mike, and I base in London. My life is back!!! After 8 years of marriage, my husband left me and left me with our three kids. I felt like my life was about to end,and was falling apart. Thanks to a spell caster called papa Justus who i met online. On one faithful day, as I was browsing through the internet, I was searching for a good spell caster that can solve my problems. I came across series of testimonies about this particular spell caster. Some people testified that he brought their Ex lover back, some testified that he restores womb, some testified that he can cast a spell to stop divorce and so on. There was one particular testimony I saw, it was about a woman called grace, she testified about how papa Justus brought back her Ex lover in less than 72 hours and at the end of her testimony she drop papa Justus e-mail address. After reading all these,I decided to give papa a try. I contacted him via email and explained my problem to him. In just 3 days, my husband came back to me. We solved our issues, and we are even happier than before. papa Justus is really a talented and gifted man and i will not to stop publishing him because he is a wonderful man...If you have a problem and you are looking for a real and genuine spell caster to solve that problem for you. I was thinking herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage as a treatment not for relaxation (all of which have eastern roots) and chiropractic medicine (which it turns out has western roots, go figure). Of these, I tried massage and chiropractic medicine for the rotator cuff (and also a back injury), I've tried herbs for a few things and not been that impressed and I have had acupuncture, however, it was in part to help someone with a story and I didn't feel any different after (though as I was not in need of treatment at the time that could be why).
I applaud him being very involved in his health care decisions. My concern is that IF surgery is the answer for his condition(s), by putting it off he is possibly causing greater long term damage. Additionally, while I get that athletes subject themselves to a lot of pain on a daily basis, I cannot imagine wanting to be receiving the sharp shooting pains on a daily basis (something I remember clearly from my own injury years later) any longer than one has to.
lol, that's hysterical, I didn't but now I would if I rewatched that. A cashier at the grocery store we frequent most has We the People as a huge arm tattoo, I've considered asking him if he's a wrestling fan, but I think he's just into certain parts of the constitution, my guess is the Second Amendment.
I don't think any match has ever had higher replay value for me.
ReplyDeleteWho was that who interfered at the end?
ReplyDeleteSome amazing storytelling in this one.
ReplyDeleteGOAT contender right here. People love the Steamboat/Flair trilogy in 89 but I'll take the holy trinity of Taker/Shawn HIAC and their WM matches.
ReplyDeleteNo other HiaC has touched this one
ReplyDeleteStill my favourite match of all time, after all these years. Flawless.
ReplyDeleteWhy, why, that's gotta be KANE!!!
ReplyDeleteHope the Cell match this month will be good whether it's Cena vs Rollins, Ambrose vs Rollins, or both vs Rollins.
ReplyDeleteAnd suffered long term head injuries.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how Foley isn't a gibbering mess right now.

ReplyDeleteI miss this Era so much
ReplyDeleteMe either....from the beating he took at lacrosse camp anone.

ReplyDeleteWhats the readership like on these reviews? I just can't see the appeal.

it's not a match but rather a spectacle. Impossible to rate as a wrestling match but five stars as a spectacle.
ReplyDeleteKOTR 98 doesn't get enough love in terms of its storytelling. People just think it's a spotfest.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant blade job from Michaels. He was the best at hiding it.
ReplyDeleteLess awesome due to continuous views? Absolutely not. This match has aged well and it remains my favorite match of all time.
