ReplyDeleteWhat's the latest on Kylegate?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Lex Luger? Has he appeared on any company productions recently?
ReplyDeleteElection night means I'm going to be working all night, but I love it. I even watched debates from other states and races.
ReplyDeleteI guess Scott checked and it was not him.
ReplyDeleteIt could have been an error on Disqus's part, which has it's own reliability issues. I just saw the two IP's match up and went on that. If Scott investigated further and saw it was not him, then I owe Kyle an apology.
Apology accepted.
ReplyDeleteI apologize for outing you like that. Sorry, man.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about the Massachusetts race between Baker and Chokely?
ReplyDeleteDuring my mini-vacation, I made my debut on Place to Be Nation.
ReplyDeletehttp://placetobenation.com/the-patriot-way
Scott Brown has to be kicking himself for not running for governor of Massachusetts. Massachusetts Democrats take the state for granted and get burned every single time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe youll get lucky and somebody will shoot them both.
ReplyDeleteHe's been a talking head on several of the Monday Night Wars shows on the network.
ReplyDeleteBrown got all but run out of Massachusetts and went to New Hampshire, where they do not like Mass residents all that much.
ReplyDeleteHell, the Boston Globe endorsed Baker. Coakley thinks she is above campaigning and is as good at debating as Erik Watts is at throwing dropkicks.
It's Billy Jerk Haynes
ReplyDeleteI thought Brown ran a close race against Warren and I think he could've easily beaten Coakley. Running to New Hampshire to try to run for senate looks so bad. Republicans could've picked off Shaheen too
ReplyDeleteThose NH campaigns get nasty. I live close enough to Nashua that I am in their media market too and even when Shaheen ran against Sununu it was cutthroat.
ReplyDeleteI live in a state that never has competitive elections and it just sucks. I get hyperlocal races that get nasty and I love, but I feel I miss out on so much
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for WWE Hall of Famer Nailz.
ReplyDeleteHow do you feel working for the biggest criminals on the planet.
ReplyDeleteI bet they do Zayn vs. Kidd on Main Event.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest scandal since Watergategate
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I found out about NBA League Pass's free week on the very last day. I should've known since they do it every year. Stupid stupid stupid.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Man Mountain Rock ain't going in. THAT ROCK MUSIC AND THAT GUITAR WAS DETRIMENTAL TO OUR YOUTH!!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, Ricardo Rodriguez blamed HHH and Stephanie McMahon for a lot of problems in WWE. Especially about wrestlers getting in trouble for saying anything about their direction or if they pitch ideas. He said that they don't want people's ideas unless they come from their group. Also, he said Road Dog is the head of creative, and a pain in the ass to deal with. He said WWE was ran much better and more freely when McMahon and John Laurinaitis were running the talent.
ReplyDeleteWhat election coverage are y'all watching? I prefer CNN because of folks like Wolf and David Gergen, although there are other personalities that I don't like.
ReplyDeleteSilly bumblebee
ReplyDeleteMSNBC bc I watch MTP every week and I need my Chuck Todd fix. So far it's bad when it's the main panel, but the outside analysis they have is great
ReplyDeleteSome guy on the F4W boards made it seem that Ricardo was a whiner who just blamed HHH for everything.
ReplyDeleteRicardo comes off as highly intelligent. His shoot made me appreciate how amazing he was in that role, especially considering it was a last minute decision. He really blended into that character and believed it. Also, he put-together a lot of the matches and would send information to the wrestlers. That is why he was constantly moving around near the ring.
ReplyDeleteMantaur in the Class of 2015 or fuck all!
ReplyDeleteRe: Eadie - I don't see the value of Demolition to a bunch of guys who can barely work at this point.
ReplyDeleteI like Matthews and Maddow, but I really wish they had Andrea Mitchell or another of their more unbiased hosts anchor the event.
ReplyDeleteI will be checking in on local elections via wnyc.org and occasionally going crazy with national stuff. I'm so happy I ditched the television..,
ReplyDeletePBS I mean the one with tithes
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that was the particular case. He wasn't really whining about anything. He rarely ever talked about HHH, and the interviewer kind of twisted his arm to talk about him.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it's about principal at this point. (was that the correct spelling/use of the word?)
ReplyDeleteEh, yeah, I'm in the fuck HHH camp, just found it funny that's all HHH called him
ReplyDeleteFeinstein reported that he just filmed a shoot with Tyler Reks and he did not hold back at all and had a lot of disparaging things to say about Cena
ReplyDeleteI would say Jeff Jarrett and Shane Douglas to name two
ReplyDeleteGood, let's see if Cena it's on Hogan's level of politics.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see HHH follow in the grand tradition of promoters by hiring his cronies.
ReplyDeleteChris Matthews is sneezing and coughing on air.
ReplyDeleteHere in SC Tim Scott is going to win a Senate seat. This is notable because Scott is a republican and is also black. My mom may or may not have referred to him as a coon.
ReplyDeleteHouse remains in GOP control. Thanks to gerrymandering, I think only a few congressional seats are even competitive anymore
ReplyDeleteJoey Matthews is one of his right-hand men, which must have been very awkward when Punk was very anti-HHH.
ReplyDeleteWeird that is wish Raw was on again tonight. That rarely happens
ReplyDeleteJason Sensation.
ReplyDeleteMan, I didn't get a chance to watch this week's show on Hulu today. Hopefully tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteReks is done with the business so I can see him not caring and unloading on people.
ReplyDeleteI've mentioned this before but I really think they need to cap the number of Hall of Fame inductees each year at five (maybe six if you are doing a tag team). Have one main event slot (Savage, Nash, Rock, HHH, Luger, Rey, Sting, Jericho, Taker, Goldberg), two notable midcard acts (DDP, Outlaws, X-Pac, Bulldog, Malenko, some ECW guys, etc), and use the final two spots for deserving women (Liz, Sable, Medusa), international talent (Muta, Chono), managers (Zeb maybe?), announcers, or celebrities (Regis Philbin).
ReplyDeleteSo Rusev won the US belt, was the match good?
ReplyDeleteGoldust and Stardust's attire reminds me of the Mondo Burger employee uniform.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad how little people realize gerrymandering has effected things.
ReplyDelete**3/4
ReplyDeleteWe had a proposition to prevent gerrymandering, but the whole thing felt like a scam. I voted no but I vote no on every proposition
ReplyDeleteI've heard from other wrestlers that Matthews is notorious for being a kiss-ass.
ReplyDeleteDecent, got it. Well, welcome to midcard hell,Rusev.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed yesterday's show. Love what they're doing with Orton.
ReplyDeleteThat's why he plays a corporate stooge.
ReplyDeleteWith no new Flash I'm going to binge New Girl for the night. No way I stay up for the whole Cavs game.
ReplyDeleteHey Mikey, whatcha doing....
ReplyDeleteThat prop was a load of crap, and would ensure that redistricting will be just as much a ridiculous process as it was in 2010-12.
ReplyDelete"but I vote no on every proposition"
ReplyDelete... as does my dad. I voted no on 13 out of 14 this time around, and still feel unsure about the 14th.
Chilling man what's good with you?
ReplyDeleteTurning him face, then taking him off TV for a bit, and having him eventually wrestle Triple H?
ReplyDeleteOh I see what you did there lol
ReplyDeleteI voted no on the electronic ballot thing and on the smart school one.
ReplyDeleteYea, the proposition was written like it was trying way too hard to be like no this isn't a scam.
If the League of Women Voters says there is no reason to vote no on a proposition, I vote no.
ReplyDeleteNo tax credits for veterans on my watch!
I caught the last hour but I liked it.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they have him as wild face Randy then I'm okay with him off tv. If they neuter him like they did the last time around then no.
ReplyDeleteThe only one I felt OK voting yes on was the e-bill, Prop 2. That was the only one I didn't have a problem with.
ReplyDeleteOther than the props, my State Senate and Assembly seats were uncontested, Cuomo is a cocksucker who doesn't deserve anyone's vote and was a largely ridiculous exercise.
So, as I was watching Raw, I realized something. It is not
ReplyDeletethat I never knew it before, but it really dawned on me. Wrestling has not
evolved. It has taken steps backwards. It is booked for the lowest of low
people, with the most unsophisticated storylines and the most noncomplex
characters ever. With all the so-called intelligent people in WWE, one would
think that there would be more well-written multi-layered, deep and metaphorical
stories and more multifaceted and naturalistic characters. This would not affect
the viewership of low intelligent people either. They do not watch the show for
the theatrical aspect of the show anyways. I mean, some of the best-written
movies in the history of filmmaking have been kids movies. Lego Movie, for
example, had a deep, underlining plot about how big corporations have affected
the every-day man, and also how the most special people in this world are the
average ones, who get little-to-zero appraisal for their contributions to society.
Currently, critics view wrestling as lowbrow as shows like Jersey Shore, and it
is rightfully so.
Um...why is this new to you? Wrestling has always been lowbrow.
ReplyDeleteCritics have always viewed wrestling as lowbrow, that has never once changed, with the possible exception of when people like Cyndi Lauper, Andy Warhol and other celebrities were appearing at ringside in 1985-86, but the kitsch quickly faded.
ReplyDeleteWrestling started as a carny sideshow, and it always will be.
Yup. Even during the high-rated attitude era, it was still portrayed as the fodder of the lowest common denominator.
ReplyDeleteIt's not new to me. Yes, wrestling will always be viewed as lowbrow. But sometimes it does not deserve to be when it is, indeed, well-written. Right now, it deserves to be considered it.
ReplyDeleteHe's not there yet, especially if he's being groomed for a program with Cena.
ReplyDeleteI don't like saying who I voted for, but I know Astorino very well.
ReplyDeleteState Senate has been gerrymandered, 95 percent of the district is in another county which is ridiculous.
Assembly was unopposed. I love our assemblywoman, but I refuse to vote in uncontested elections.
I voted no on prop 2 bc I'm an asshole
You'll never go wrong appealing to the lowest common denominator.
ReplyDeleteShakespeare was written for the masses as well.
Only when Sheamus was on offense.
ReplyDeleteBut tons of the content on the show has to be intelligently insulting to anyone over the age of 13.
ReplyDeleteFor judge, I voted for a guy named Montgomery since I always vote for the funniest name or vote third party
ReplyDeleteThat was just as true in the Attitude Era as it is now.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine Jarrett getting into the HoF just so Vince can induct him and go "four time WCW champion *snickers* and 6 time TNA champion... *bursts out laughing*"
ReplyDeleteIf you take out the matches the WWF is strictly a show for retarded people. Always has been, always will be. I just like the matches.
ReplyDeleteShakespeare also wrote for Queen Elizabeth and members of the nobility. I think a good example today would be the Walking Dead - it is (mostly) smartly written, but also appeals to the masses.
ReplyDeleteI thought Stephanie was in the right to dump Orton last night. He's been in the Authority forever and hasn't really done much. Orton reminds me of a high draft pick that just hasn't produced. I just don't see why HHH thinks he's going to be the difference at SurSer
ReplyDeleteOle anderson cuz of the gcw buyout
ReplyDeleteVirginia too close to call....holy shit. And Alison Grimes is an awful person
ReplyDeleteI spend all day solving problems so I'm all about some idiocy when I'm winding down for bed.
ReplyDeleteWho was the writer (Kreski?) who storyboarded everything in 1999 and 2000 so all the storylines made sense?
ReplyDeleteI don't think the show as being well-written will ever give wrestling props. But the performance in the ring is a different matter. I think Bret Hart had a good interpretation of wrestling as art in how wrestlers can make matches realistic-looking and draw in crowds, etc.
But I think all the bells and whistles and gimmicks take away from wrestling as performance art.
I found it weird that Cole called Rollins win over Orton an upset. Rollins has had a way more productive year than Orton has.
ReplyDeleteZayn vs. Kidd on Main Event now.
ReplyDeleteI don't recall any third party candidates for judge. So, I voted by ethnic lines - find the most Italian names possible.
ReplyDeleteWatching The Perfect Event tag against Nash and DDP.
ReplyDeleteOr Grimey, as she liked to be called by friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat'd he do to get blackballed?
ReplyDeleteNo third party, so just Montgomery. The other judge races were unopposed, which meant no vote from me.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the results from Prop 2: I will be one of the few no votes.
Yes and no. Orton was still the favorite based on rep but he's been in decline all year. What I didn't like about the match was Orton not playing more of a face.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Zayn to be called up to RAW and be a main event player in 2035.
ReplyDeleteI think I would enjoy Cena more if he had a hulk-up routine before he won a match. That way it would seem he would be drawing on the apathy from half the crowd before he was victorious.
ReplyDeleteI might make it to half time.
ReplyDeletewhy? so he can job to Aurora?
ReplyDeleteExactly. I have no problem shutting off my brain on Monday nights. If I want something that makes me go hmm, I have plenty of alternatives.
ReplyDeleteDude, he'll probably job to Aurora next year.
ReplyDeletegood guy vs bad guy is just fine by me as long as the character motivations make sense. That's the only thing I ask.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty vague on the details but he made some derogatory remarks about the company and Vince. He has since apologized and wants to get back in Vince's good graces again because he needs a payday I suspect.
ReplyDeleteChris Kreski was the writer, yes. It's not really about respect. I don't care about how non-wrestling critics view wrestling. I just pointed out that it was deserved. It had little to do with the main point I was making. It has more to do with how intelligently written the shows are. WWE has the perfect blend of old wrestling people, who understand the basic philosophies of booking 101, and these so-called creative writers, who are supposed to come up with these intelligent ideas. Yet, they book like they're fully creatively challenged. I mean, how many times did we see them recycle the win off music playing and wrestler distraction. That's just unacceptable writing for a corporation that is funded by investors and for people who wear three piece suits to work.
ReplyDeleteOne of the banner ads I'm seeing right now is a service to wire money to India. I think google has made a miscalculation somewhere here.
ReplyDeleteYou know who would make a good shoot interview? that dude that worked head of security. I can't remember his name but he started behind the camera with Crockett and somehow became the security guy for WCW.
ReplyDeleteDoug Dillinger?
ReplyDeletegeorge jepsen's missing out on some type of Jetson's name recognition soundalike ploy in CT too
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's it.
ReplyDeleteThat all said, I did find Raw to be a good Raw. At least they are making an effort to create some storylines and interest within the product. I'll take that over a stagnant product where nothing happens any day of the week.
ReplyDeleteJesus, I can't believe I blanked on Doug Dillinger's name til Jobber posted it.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely WWE's fault that they don't utilize their creative talent better. But to me, it's really a matter of stagnation at the top. HHH, Stephanie, Vince...this trifecta have been in charge of the show for a LONG time and we can blame an ex-soap opera writer but as someone who works in television, I can tell you that you can't blame a lowly writer for a creative direction.
ReplyDeleteIt all falls on the executive producers/showrunners. No wonder WWE is so stale because they've had the same creative heads for so long.
McConnell may be an assbag but it was nice how he went out of his way to congratulate Grimes while Grimes couldn't even say his name
ReplyDeleteIrish gypsies sending for each other on youtube can cut better promos than most of the roster. This is what Sheamus should be doing.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL6aDrzs3Fs
Late 2000 Luger was playing a pretty good character.
ReplyDeleteI love Jon Stewart's impression of that old turtle.
ReplyDeleteUnless he's in charge of a school
ReplyDeleteRandom but did he have short hair by then?
ReplyDelete...so every election there's throngs of people lined up as polls close.....really don't get why "fuck 'em, should have voted earlier" isn't the standard response instead of hand wringing and lawsuits to keep polls open
ReplyDeleteNo, I was blaming them. I'm saying they pay all these people, and this is the best they can put out. Either way, they hire these writers. So if they do suck, that's their fault as well.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah definitely
ReplyDeletestop calling him Luger. You are worst than Tony
ReplyDeleteBecause people have work?
ReplyDeletetotal package?
ReplyDeleteFrom 6am to 7 or 8pm? Then absentee it
ReplyDeletePretty sure Jarrett and Vince buried the hatchet. I think around the time of his wife's death?
ReplyDeleteSexy Lexy?
ReplyDeleteAnd her finisher better be the Aurora Borealis.
ReplyDeleteAutograph signings?
ReplyDeleteyeah. Dude buried Lex Luger and those ass hats call him Luger in the next segment.
ReplyDeleteaaand Kidd just beat Zayn.
ReplyDeleteThe few times I did absteneeing it was a pain in the ass. Too many states close polls too early
ReplyDeleteEmployers are required to give people time to go vote.
ReplyDeleteBut I still got my ass up and went to vote before I went to work, because that's what I do.
Do they have advance polls in the States? I'm Canadian and when I vote, I just do it then.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Vince buried the hatchet he used to kill Jeff's wife with?
ReplyDeleteHHH must not like Zayn.
ReplyDeletelol I forgot all about that. Yeah he's just the total package at this point. They should have shown that on the ppv it was before to promo the match.
ReplyDeleteDemos were in wwe 13 I think. Even if that's the video game company's call, that always seems to be "step one" toward fence mending.
ReplyDeleteThey're telling a long-term story with Zayn that may or may not lead to the return of Generico.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually okay with that because Kidd is a great worker.
ReplyDeleteLogged into Twitter to see "Justin Gabriel" was trending. For a minute, I was terrified he'd died or something. Because why the fuck else would Justin Gabriel be trending?
ReplyDeleteEh, I absenteed once against Lieberman when I was going to be on vacation, wasn't fun, but took maybe 10 minutes longer than a 7am, no line vote took, would be a shit load shorter than the "let's line up like it's 5 minutes until the end of the world"
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, Generico doesn't even exist in their minds.
ReplyDeleteRight after using it to sabotage Randy Savage's car. Or are we still sticking with the heart attack excuse? IT WAS HIM ALL ALONG!
ReplyDeleteBecause 700,000 network subscribers are enough to get something trending worldwide!
ReplyDelete(Cold bastard)Terrified? I think morbidly curious would be the most I could muster if I thought he died
ReplyDeleteStraight Jacket Steel Cage Match. FTW?
ReplyDeleteOn a show almost no one watches. Zayn will recover.
ReplyDeleteAnd even if Zayn does keep losing, they beat Daniel Bryan like a drum and he still got over. If it's going to happen for him, it's going to happen for him.
You know what I like about you Americans? Your chant. "USA USA" is just so damn catchy!
ReplyDeleteGiven the NXT spoilers I've seen and the match list for the NXT special in December, it makes the most sense.
ReplyDeleteDanielle Panabaker can get it.
ReplyDeleteYeah...Daniel Bryan lost like EVERY match on NXT when he came in.
ReplyDeleteCanada! Canada! Canada!
ReplyDeleteJust too many syllables.
ReplyDeleteWASSUP WASSUP ALL MUH NAGGAS?
ReplyDeleteUh uh TITTY BOUNCE TITTY BOUNCE
Can-na-da! Can-na-da! Can-na-da!
ReplyDeleteThey were "telling stories." Ugh...
ReplyDeleteWasn't that when he was wearing florescent Yankee's jerseys and looked like he was about 75?
ReplyDeleteThe Network needs to do something about that annoying little ditty they play before every single show. Doooooo-doo-doo-dooo-dooo-doooooooooo.
ReplyDeleteThat's all I've got.
Lucha Underground drew 18,000-20,000 viewers for its first episode.
ReplyDeleteYes and kinda
ReplyDeleteIt's catchy!
ReplyDeleteGood, bad for a show on El Rey?
ReplyDeleteDoes Time Warner Cable get it?
ReplyDeleteNo idea.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying we nag you?
ReplyDeleteSearch for El Rey on your channel guide.
ReplyDeleteProbably not. That network is just on Dish.
ReplyDeleteIf it is, I would check it out. Looks good enough.
ReplyDeleteNot in a good way! I always sing along with it.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dish sucks.
ReplyDeleteLooked it up. Channel 841.
ReplyDeleteTITTIES BOUNCIN' ROUND AND ROUNNNNND
ReplyDeleteI'LL GET A MOTORBIKE
ReplyDeleteWhy not find it online and watch it?
ReplyDeleteContact your local satellite or cable provider.
ReplyDeleteIf Bruno and Warrior are in, I'd say never say never on anyone else...unless it's Jeff Jarrett or Ole Anderson.
ReplyDeleteI probably will, but I also would like to see it on TV as well.
ReplyDeleteReally voting ought to be moved to Sunday or perhaps an entire week.
ReplyDeleteDepends on the state. My state (Illinois) has about a month of early voting.
ReplyDeletebrotha's can't get a day off if they do that.
ReplyDeleteI wanna vote with my iPhone.
ReplyDeleteThen after winning his first match, they kicked him off.
ReplyDeleteThey'll just make minorities work on Sunday
ReplyDeleteTime Warner can SO get it
ReplyDelete...we're talking about one of de wimins, right? Time "Blair" Warner?
*sniff, sniff* You been drinkin', son?
ReplyDeletePlus 2K15 has fans holding Generico signs.
ReplyDeleteSo, it looks like Charlie Baker is going to win in Mass. Lame.
ReplyDeleteI absenteed twice and both times it was a major hassle. In 06 they didn't send me my ballot in time and I flipped out on the Board of Elections claiming they violated my constitutional rights that my ancestors died for.
ReplyDeleteG-G-G-GHOST
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've finally figured you out, Abey. You make everyone do the hard work for you, searching for shit online, giving you recaps of what happened in threads. You the king, man. Everyone does the work for you.
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason you're number one...
Yeah, not a shock as Coakley runs the shittiest of shitty campaigns
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteFITTA HAS INTRUDED
ReplyDeleteSHOOT TO KILL
second time she lost a statewide race to a republican in probably the most liberal state
ReplyDeleteScott investigated and it wasn't him.
ReplyDelete
