Theoretical question: if TNA didn't burn through all of their goodwill with poor decisions (that's a big if, obviously) and waited until January 2015 to challenge WWE on Mondays, would they have a chance? Raw's typical rating five years ago hovered around a 3.7 or so, compared to a 2.7 now.
Seeing how there's a lot of fans raving about Lucha Underground and GFW (solely for the Jim Ross connecton at the moment), I think we may be at the point where a serious competitor could stick it to WWE. Maybe not beat them in the next year, but come much closer in the ratings than TNA did five years back.
Looking at your profile pic, you've already eaten every Wal-Mart within 100 miles out of their bag of dicks inventory. So we'll need you to go to the nearest bag of dicks factory, and just begin working on their backstock.
WWE's ratings and TNA's ratings are still miles apart from each other. People also forget it's Football season. Ratings are supposed to be at their best around this time of the year.
I've been watching on youtube. It's awesome with character pieces and backstage stories. It just has this cool production that makes u proud to watch. It's broadcast on El Ray and Univision
I'm not sure if I'd say it's that good. I've seen two episodes and they were fun and quick to watch. But what's important is that they feel unique and fresh and take a different approach than WWE so that adds to it.
If followed it the past few months, their reps have made some very public comments about him and their company. Now that they are parting ways, he could be rehired I presume.
I'm a big fan of Lucha Underground, but it's not life changing or anything. Mostly it's just completely different from TNA and WWE. LU kinda owns its low-budget and focuses more on compelling wrestling than skits. You may like it or you may hate it. It's worth watching once to form an opinion, but I'm beginning to worry the hype is getting to be too big to live up to.
The only way any promotion is ever going to compete with the WWE is if they're owned by a network and that network's going to put all it's resources to make it succeed. That's how WCW was able to do it.
It really is! I've never seen a wrestling show like it. They do away with the "this is live" feel for the backstage segments and use slo-mo and cinematic cuts. The in-ring action is surprisingly good. The crowd does a good job adding to the drama.
No joke, a spambot was getting flamed in a thread here once and another popped up to defend it. It was very weird. I think everyone should respond to them incase that happens again.
-Two lengths of rope were suspended above the ring forming an X, the belt was hung in the middle, the object was to monkey hand-over-hand to the belt and pull it down.
-The emphasis of this match is the "X Factors" is: No Limits. No Ladders
-The logic department failed on TNA as soon as one wrestler let go of one of the ropes, the ropes sprang back with force causing the very small belt to pop off.
-As a result TNA officials had to rehang the belt TWICE during the match.
-Don West reacted to this by almost creaming himself and screaming YES! YES! YES! YES!"
A decreased budget could be the best thing to happen to TNA in a good, long time. Get rid of the guys the Anderson, Gunner and Sam Shaw types that don't do anything of interest on TV, get rid of Tazz on commentary and maybe let Bully Ray and D-Von go back to the WWE with the Hardy's and go out and hope you can find a few more (cheaper) diamonds in the rough like EC3 and move from there.
And hopefully theyve spent this time off really making an effort to decide what kind of company they want to be going forward and who and how they are going to present their show and talent.
Double post! I'm commenting here so I can also be sucked into the abyss of deletion!

It'd be hilarious if WWF1987 didn't get the channel.
ReplyDeleteOH GOD NO IT'S FULL OF ADS!
ReplyDeleteI legit LOLed at this.
ReplyDeleteWHAT IS KIM SARA DOING IN THE IMPACT ZONE?!?!
ReplyDeleteTheoretical question: if TNA didn't burn through all of their goodwill with poor decisions (that's a big if, obviously) and waited until January 2015 to challenge WWE on Mondays, would they have a chance? What's Sara Kimberly doing in the Impact Zone?!?
ReplyDeleteFTFY.
That would be the ultimate irony in all of this.
ReplyDeleteTNA, as they are now, would still take it up the ass on Monday Nights. Brutally.
ReplyDeleteTheir "best shot" at something like that was probably early/mid-2012, maybe starting the week before Destination X.
Looking at your profile pic, you've already eaten every Wal-Mart within 100 miles out of their bag of dicks inventory. So we'll need you to go to the nearest bag of dicks factory, and just begin working on their backstock.
ReplyDeleteWHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO POST?!?
ReplyDelete... nowhere.
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the point of responding to spambots?
ReplyDeleteI just keep escalating the amounts. Once I reach "eat every bag of dicks on the planet", I might need new material for the bots.
ReplyDeleteOne time someone responded with something like "kill yourself" and the spambot responded with "sorry bro". It made it all feel worth it.
ReplyDelete"Wonder how long before Dixie brings back Vince Russo"
ReplyDeleteIts funny that you actually thought he got fired.
WWE's ratings and TNA's ratings are still miles apart from each other. People also forget it's Football season. Ratings are supposed to be at their best around this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should talk to Wrestling Superstar Virgil about this exciting opportunity.
ReplyDeleteIs Lucha Underground THAT good? What channel is it on? I'm not being sarcastic, just want to check it out for myself.
ReplyDeleteHe's not working for them anymore. Spike saw to that
ReplyDeleteI've been watching on youtube. It's awesome with character pieces and backstage stories. It just has this cool production that makes u proud to watch. It's broadcast on El Ray and Univision
ReplyDeleteOh my God...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'd say it's that good. I've seen two episodes and they were fun and quick to watch. But what's important is that they feel unique and fresh and take a different approach than WWE so that adds to it.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know, you work for Spike?
ReplyDeleteFunny that there's any need to wonder. His return is imminent.
ReplyDeleteHillbilly wrasslin' on what sounds like a hillbilly channel. Perfect match.
ReplyDeleteAnd they aren't on Spike TV anymore so someone queue up some ominous music.
ReplyDeletePotential dumb question: Is it in Spanish?
ReplyDeleteIf followed it the past few months, their reps have made some very public comments about him and their company. Now that they are parting ways, he could be rehired I presume.
ReplyDeleteNot on El Ray (or youtube). Matt ugh Stryker and Vampiro commentator for the US
ReplyDeleteBut how far would he go to get it?
ReplyDelete...damn.
ReplyDelete#HOSSANALRAPE
ReplyDeleteCheck this thread's "twin". It'll make more sense then.

ReplyDeleteMountain Monsters, A Haunting, Hillbilly Blood, Buying the Bayou, Buying Alaska, Ghost Asylum and BBQ Pitmasters... perfect for TNA fanbase
ReplyDeleteNope, not enough fans. The ratings today if TNA was on Spike would be WWE 3.1 TNA 0.5
ReplyDeleteWould you mind linking me?
ReplyDeleteThey'll have to scavenge the universe for more bags of dicks.
ReplyDeleteEpisode 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQjDQ2z4H4c

*Rings on neighbor's doorbell*
ReplyDelete"Uh, hi. I was just wondering if you had Impact and I could stay just for two hours."
Was really hoping he'd post this one more time.
ReplyDeleteNice, need to catch up on the 2 episodes.
ReplyDeleteStart by not stealing mine.
ReplyDelete(We'll just ignore the fact that I stole it from Louis CK.
Only if he introduces himself as WWF1987.
ReplyDeleteIt really is! I've never seen a wrestling show like it. They do away with the "this is live" feel for the backstage segments and use slo-mo and cinematic cuts. The in-ring action is surprisingly good. The crowd does a good job adding to the drama.

ReplyDeleteNo joke, a spambot was getting flamed in a thread here once and another popped up to defend it. It was very weird. I think everyone should respond to them incase that happens again.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a bonus for me.
ReplyDeleteI thought he dropped his TNA thing... I think he went all in on Jarrett's promotion.
ReplyDeleteFinishing off the year 2003 in LOLTNA:
ReplyDelete"The first Ultimate X match

Hasn't he also shot some new interviews for WWE Network as well? I could swear they had some with him on some of the docs.

Don West reacts the same way to getting the mail or turning left.
