Hey Scott According to reports from pwinsider.com It looks as If TNA most likely will remain on Spike TV. But for less money then previous deals between the 2. If this is true, will this help TNA move forward with locking talent up long term and maybe keeping guys like Bully Ray and Kurt Angle with them?
I would REALLY tend to doubt this is the case, as there's been nothing about it from any credible sources and Spike pretty much wrote them off weeks ago. But maybe TNA just figured that since WWE re-signed a deal for a disappointing amount of money, it was good enough for them as well?
There's a TON of places around here that buy back games and systems. There's the Game Stop, the Game Champ, Electronics Exchange, not to mention all the weird little places that don't seem to have names on the exterior, but have all the electronics shit in the window.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm pretty sure Amazon has something like that, too, but I haven't looked into it yet.
So my girlfriend 2 years ago bought an iPhone 4S and was just getting ready to trade in for a new phone. She was thinking of getting a 5c to save some cash after she traded her phone in to Best Buy.
ReplyDeleteBut her parents just called and offered to buy her a new iPhone (Do you want a 5 or 6, they asked), and she said when she gets her new phone I could use hers for the trade-in value, another $110. I may get TWO systems...
Why?
ReplyDeleteFrom the start.
FROM THE START.
I have said that TNA, if they Manage To Survive, would HAVE To Accept A worse situation then before.
Here spike gives them less money.
Furthermore, I never said TNA would die. I just wanted him to acknowledge things looked bad. Which they did. Now maybe they look better.
I would like a better source then wrestle zone however. (I am not claiming one doesn't exist, I haven't looked.)
"So my girlfriend 2 years ago bought an iPhone 4S"
ReplyDeleteJeebus, EAT A FUCKING HOT PIECE OF SHIT AND DIE
*keeps reading*
Oh crap, that wasn't spam. Sorry. :(
Also nice.
ReplyDeleteThe avatar and screen name didn't give it away?
ReplyDelete"My man's got TWO systems"
ReplyDelete/Everybody Hates Chris
HHH and Flair last man standing has been awesome. I'd say ****
ReplyDeleteNo, I just thought the 1st sentence read exactly like some of the spam does :P
ReplyDeleteNot a chance. This is a bullshit story and PWI Insider gets fed bullshit about TNA all the time. I guess passing on bullshit with no filter from a TNA source is better than them embarrassingly trying to slam a WON story and then stealing more info from a 3rd site and passing it off as their own though.
ReplyDeleteRandom fun fact: There were fifteen WWF Tag Team Title changes between 1978 and 1983. TEN of them occured in Allentown, PA.
ReplyDeleteHuh?
PWI Insider is such shit.
ReplyDeleteThat poor dog
ReplyDeleteMan, those TV tapings lasted a LOOOOOONG time...
ReplyDeleteFROM DAY DAMN ONE
ReplyDeleteBRO
That match is a lot of fun. That's my rating for it. Their cage match is even better.
ReplyDeleteWasn't WWF Championship Wrestling pretty much based there?
ReplyDeleteShit man you just fell ass backwards into two systems.
ReplyDeleteYup! I didn't have high expectations for this PPV but it's been solid so far.
ReplyDeleteSo he's to food what Stone Cold was to vehicles?
ReplyDeleteThere is no chance in the world this is anything more than PWI Insider reporting some bullshit a TNA source fed them. Who knows, maybe even Dixie just out righted lied to the employee. Either way, if they were staying on SPIKE the deal would be done before now, when they only have 3 episodes left.
ReplyDeleteBtw PWI insider also claimed TNA has a show booked at the Manhattan center in January. Oddly enough, the MC website doesn't have it booked on their calendar and there is no where to buy tickets for it. So, that's werid...
The way I had it planned out, I figured I would end up with a WiiU and a PS4 by the end of the year anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably why, but it's just funny. See, the tag titles were shit on even before the last few years.
ReplyDelete:)
If they stay on Spike I'll change my user name to WWF1987wasRight for a few days. But there is (IMO) 0.0% chance this is anything other than some bullshit.
ReplyDeleteSurvivor Series 05 is pretty great. The Flair/HHH match. Cena/Angle isn't as good as the two men involved indicates it should be. But it also has the last meaningful and great Survivor Series elimination match.
ReplyDeletePeople just can't have been happy with all those Tony Garea reigns.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm probably keeping it at home for the rest of the day. Network PPV marathon time for me. Gonna watch the rest of WCW Uncensored 2000 now.
ReplyDeleteThings seem to be heading in that direction, yes.
ReplyDeleteTried to put a lawn mower together today. I should have checked the box before buying it and made sure that it came assembled. Damn handle doesn't sit right.
ReplyDeleteI spent a good chunk of the day watching SurSer 2009 and then 2008, which I still need to finish.
ReplyDeleteRandom question:
ReplyDeleteName the wrestler (PRE-2000) who used the following hometowns:
Mud Lick, Kentucky
Parris Island, South Carolina
Double Cross Ranch, Amarillo, Texas
Venice Beach, California (2)
Detroit, Michigan
Nice. I watched the 07 show a few days ago and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteAnd currently Litas rack!

Bobo Brazil?
I'm watching the shows in reverse order, so things eventually get better by the time I get to the end.
ReplyDeleteReverse chronological is definitely the way to go.
ReplyDeleteI always thought it was weird as a kid in the early 90's that Sting was billed from the same town as Hogan.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good. I have almost zero recollection of the 2008 show.
ReplyDeleteDamn, that is a really good idea. Since Feb I've been trying to watch all the wcw ppvs in order and I totally should have gone in reverse order.
ReplyDeleteFun fact:
ReplyDeleteAfter they did all that shit on twitter about me "pirating" from the elite section, I found out that they have been charging my credit card this whole time. I got all my money back after filing a complaint through my credit card company.
Late 2008 was a weird time when Show and Undertaker were having good matches.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha are you fucking serious! omg wow
ReplyDeleteI usually rewatch the Big 4 each year, but I always go in chronological order, figured I would switch it up this time around.
ReplyDeleteWVU playing not to lose. That's tempting fate against the football gods
ReplyDeleteDo you know how the show ends? B/c I have a comment if you, otherwise I won't spoil it
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping this avatar until the WWE add a mulkey bros match to the Network.
ReplyDelete#IFightForWhatsRight
Looked at my charge card before I left on vacation and saw I have been getting billed this whole time. I filed a complaint and got my money back.
ReplyDeleteSo, the only one doing anything illegal was him.
OR
ReplyDeleteOr, they wanted MORE
There's no way Spike would want them to be running those clip shows for six weeks, because they know full well they'll be ratings death. If they were keeping TNA, why screw themselves over like that?
ReplyDeleteSo, this is the show where Jeff Hardy was "attacked" and removed from the Triple Threat that had Kozlov and Triple H? What in the bloody blue hell was WWE thinking?
ReplyDeleteThis is totally legit. This is being reported by the guy who said Yoko to the Hart Foundation and Punk's return for Summerslam.
ReplyDeleteEven if Spike signs them, AJ Styles has proven the bigger names can make more money in the indies and Japan. Especially guys like the Dudleys - they could sign merch/video game/DVD deals with WWE and jerk around the indies for far more than TNA can offer.
ReplyDeleteThe most popular wrestling company gets 731K buys.
ReplyDeleteI doubt TNA would get 731 buys.
If Spike wants to stay in the wrestling business, they should try Jarrett's new promotion. Or ROH. Or Chikira. Or literally anyone else.
ReplyDeleteIf it was ever going to get better, it would have by now. I have no idea why spike keeps them around.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Feel like TNA's ratings are so low that they could put any wrestling company in that slot and get at least the same amount of viewers but also have upside potential by virtue of the company just not being TNA.
ReplyDeleteChikara is in the wrestling business?
ReplyDeleteThey have a similar service , and have for a few years
ReplyDeletePWInsider didn't report that
ReplyDeleteTNAs ratings are pretty decent I thought?
ReplyDeleteNot for nothing but isn't TNA the highest rated show on Spike?
ReplyDeleteIs that the announcement that was supposed to CHANGE THE FACE OF TNA FOREVER again for the first time, for the last time?
ReplyDeleteSupposedly that FACE CHANGING ANNOUNCEMENT was the announcement that Kurt Angle intended to re-sign with TNA.
ReplyDelete...Except we've since learned that's only Angle's intention and he hasn't actually signed a deal yet.
So is the actual FACE CHANGING ANNOUNCEMENT the announcement that TNA will re-sign with Spike for less money? That certainly does change TNA forever... but not in a good way.
Decent? No, not by any measure. Good for Spike? Possibly.
ReplyDeleteSome have said that, but despite its high ratings other shows get higher ad revenue since advertisers don't gravitate toward wrestling. Also, it's more expensive for Spike to produce than other content.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, Spike might get more money for less ratings by running re-runs of COPS and Bar Rescue instead.
They're not terrible I guess but they're not great either. I honestly think pretty much any decent wrestling company would draw at least the same million viewers TNA gets every week.
ReplyDeleteI think when Spike realized that they could draw nearly the same amount of viewers by just airing COPS reruns, they soured on investing in TNA.
Gotcha.
ReplyDeletelol come on bro
ReplyDeleteWell, to be fair, everyone understands that Kurt is probably going to wrestle himself to death and the WWE doesn't want or need a guy dying in the ring, so...
ReplyDeleteNo, Impact probably draws a good rating overall for the channel. Good enough to sustain themselves, anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe COST to the NETWORK (with promises of future recoupments) is what's gonna kill them.
There's a sucker (or money mark) born every minute.
ReplyDeleteAt least as much as TNA is.
ReplyDeleteNot everybody is in Sting's position though.
ReplyDeleteBut a lot are in AJ Styles.
Where are they going to tape television? I know there was talk of "verbal commitments" to do some TV tapings in New York, but they need something more concrete than that. They lost the Impact Zone. They've gotten some buzz for things taped weeks in advance, but mostly the ratings are in freefall--especially since the move to Wednesdays. Much of their talent has gone. This is a company that has to undergo a rebuilding period, and people think they can do that with less money than they had before? And on Spike's end, unless they are getting an absolute bargain basement deal, who really believes they would be willing to invest in a product drawing its least viewers ever, and which as a company is in such disarray? Never say never I guess, but it's hard to believe there's much chance this is true.
ReplyDeleteFor all those looking at the ratings being good for Spike, you also need to look at the costs. Think of the size of the roster compared to the cast of a normal tv show, the size of the production crew, the expense in filming in different locations every week. Unlike WWE which also has different income streams like huge merchandise sales, DVD, sponsorship deals, a profitable house show business & the Network, TNA pretty much just has tv rights and nothing more.
ReplyDeleteit is incredibly cheaper to produce professional wrestling then "episodic" television... because no unions
