Remember, this time last year everyone kept saying that Bryan was only a placeholder feud (even Scott) for Orton before Batista or Cena came in to save the day.
There was NO WAY Bryan was going on to Wrestlemania to win the title. Nope, not at all. And there was NO WAY he was going to beat all three members of Evolution in one night to win the title on top of that.
Nope, not happening
Is this REALLY still a thing? Like, how many times do we need to have it verified that:
1) Batista-Orton was the planned WM main event and;
2) Daniel Bryan was not in the long term plans of the company, especially considering his first post-win feud was with Kane
...before people accept it? Yes, they might still change their mind and back into a different plan for WM this year that's Dolph or Ambrose or whoever, but that doesn't mean they suddenly had amazing long-term planning skills all along and were just fooling us dumb marks. If it hadn't been for an extraordinary set of circumstances and the fanbase nearly staging a revolt against the entire direction of the promotion, it would not have happened. Sheesh.
Slow clap
ReplyDeleteD-Bry was absolutely in the long term plans after Wrestlemania. He was going to hold the belt until Summerslam.
ReplyDeleteI still don't see this backlash against Reigns everyone says exists. He seems to be very over
ReplyDeleteLet's see what happens in Philly.
ReplyDeleteThe fans were already turning on him prior to his injury.
ReplyDeleteIs this really Kyle Fitta?
ReplyDeleteThe crowd seems to really like him. This isn't Batista
ReplyDeleteThat's the second time someone asked me that. (1) No. (2) I don't know who that is.
ReplyDeleteUm, Daniel Bryan was the one who was going to be holding the belt till Lesnar.
ReplyDeleteAlso, regardless of the booking plans changing, the original posters point was that people were saying "it would never happen" and it did. It not being the original plan was never being argued, that's a straw man.
So the "boring" chant during his match last night never happened?
ReplyDeleteHe won Superstar of the Year, got a big pop for that, the crowds respond to this.
ReplyDeleteThis is more of the push new stars, no not that one that exists.
... to be in Cena's spot of getting destroyed within minutes by Lesnar.
ReplyDeleteWhat Scott is saying is even as of February 2014 Bryan wasn't the long term plan. They were teasing a Bryan/Kane Mania match as late as Elimination Chamber
ReplyDeleteMany describe his SOFY award announcement to be lukewarm. Plus, the fans were starting to boo him in the Summer, especially at Summerslam.
ReplyDeleteWhat Scott is saying and what the original poster's argument was were two different things tho, IIRC.
ReplyDeleteWhich was not going to happen unless you're Princess.
ReplyDeleteHe got a good pop based on what I saw.
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly didn't see it, but all his other live segments have seem to done well
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand why Reigns MUST win the title at Wrestlemania XXXI. It's like it's the series finale and there's nothing left after. If he's not ready in three months, wait until he is ready. He's 29 years old but for some reason he just has to win the belt this coming Wrestlemania. If WWE is serious about him being the future, which they are as he hasn't been pinned in a singles match yet, then they should wait until he's ready.
ReplyDeleteMy point was that the booking can change, not that it was always the original plan.
ReplyDeleteYea, and that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe NXT crowd didn't appear to like him much at REvolution either. Not saying he can't be THE guy, but I agree with pretty much everyone else saying he isn't ready. I absolutely do think he should win the belt at WM32, though.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't really call that "long term". I would consider long term to be Bryan as the #1 guy while Cena moves into a secondary role.
ReplyDeleteWait too long after showing signs of the rocket push, and you get into Lex Luger territory. They've gone too far. Which is why I said earlier in the year that I wish they'd slow down and let Reigns prove himself in some singles matches, prove he can talk, etc...
ReplyDeleteIt was absolutely being argued that it was the original plan many times over on this blog.
ReplyDeleteI would. That's a four month title reign and probably setting up future matches with Lesnar. The summer seemed to be building around D-Bry v. The Authority.
ReplyDeleteLuckily Vince Jordan is gone
ReplyDeleteEh, we'll never really know.
ReplyDeleteWhen did that happen? I didn't even ban him.
ReplyDeleteHe had a meltdown in one of the update threads.
ReplyDeleteso would Batista have dropped it to Lesnar at SummerSlam?
ReplyDeleteDave has said that it was the general plan, I think. Batista was only ever going to be short term, and a match with Lesnar would make sense.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Bryan's feud was with THEDEMONKANE, which means he was in the long term plans for the company and would be Shawn Michaels 1996 right now aside from the fact he is paralyzed. R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteThe boring chants on Monday night suggest otherwise
ReplyDeleteUmm I'm not gonna seek it out, but I heard Roman's big match this week was a COUNT OUT WIN over Big Show. Show can't do a pinfall job to the next biggest star in the business?
ReplyDeleteSo it all cycles back to where we are now. Regardless of if it were Cena, Bryan, or Batista as champ. That's funny. And sad.
ReplyDeleteThe plan was Sheamus/ Bryan for WM XXX
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Show has no problem jobbing cleanly on PPV, but WWE has always protected Show when it comes to TV.
ReplyDeleteWatch Elimination Chamber 2014 again. They were absolutely setting up a Kane/Bryan Mania match
ReplyDeleteI seeked it out on Youtube.
ReplyDeleteThere were supposedly boring chants during said match, but at the parts they showed on Youtube, fans were chanting for Bryan.
Oh god yes. Can you link me to the specific thread?
ReplyDeletegood taste
ReplyDeleteYou know, you KNOW the plan for Bryan/Sheamus at Mania was to have a "meaningless good match", because they believe good matches can and should be used as filler for their biggest show of the year (see also: Orton/Punk, WM27), and that Bryan getting his win back from a previous embarrassing decision they made was somehow supposed to satiate all of Bryan's growing fanbase. That's all that went through their minds until Trips couldn't drown out the crowd reactions anymore. If that doesn't make you wanna burn Titan Towers to the ground with all of them inside it and then piss on the flames, you're simply not a wrestling fan.
ReplyDeleteSure, I know that. But that's not at all what Mar Solo was saying, and he's the guy you quoted to make this argument. Particularly after the CM Punk shoot, no one is talking about Bryan being the original long-term plan.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, it was a match featuring Big Show so the boring chants weren't directed at Roman as such.
ReplyDeleteWe should all thank our savior Punk for making this happen. He quit for our entertainment.
ReplyDeletelol
Yes, it's him. Same IP and e-mail address.
ReplyDeleteYes, but at Elimination Chamber and the weeks before that it was obviously changed to Kane/Bryan feud
ReplyDeleteHe didn't quit, he was fiiiiiiiiiired.
ReplyDeleteHi, Kyle Fitta!
ReplyDeleteI did. They were clearly setting up D-Bry at Mania at that point.
ReplyDeleteIn fairness, there are people who complain about them not having long-term plans and people who then complain when they do =)
ReplyDeleteIt's clear between the RR and EC, they knew they had to put D-Bry in the main, especially when Punk left.
ReplyDeleteOnly when the long term plan is to have nothing happen for months on end. Good to know they planned it this way!
ReplyDeleteYeah, well, that's what happens when they need to justify millions of dollars per year for Lesnar.
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying...plans changed?
ReplyDeleteSince it's officially Christmas Eve here on the East Coast:
ReplyDeleteYippee-ki-yay, motherfuckers!
It's weird but I think they are building up Ziggler as a contingency in case they feel Reigns is flopping so Ziggler gives them a Plan B.
ReplyDeleteProblem is they're booking their Plan B 100x better then their Plan A.
Exactly - WM32 would be a good target, but this year feels far too soon.
ReplyDeleteShit, I was hoping to finally justify offing him SOA-style and then blaming it on the Irish! Drop the ban hammer and then paint an IRA symbol in blood on his virtual windshield.
ReplyDeleteUm...yeah? Sorry, I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteVINTAGE SNARK!
ReplyDeleteJust click the "Scott's Blog of Doom" thing next to the button you click to sort between Newest, Oldest and Best Comments. Then find Vince Jordan's name in the list and it should show you his last comment.
ReplyDeleteI'd guess Plan B is Cena for Mania
ReplyDeleteI think the contingency plan is more for post-Mania and need that reliable #2 face to step up and fill time.
"If that doesn't make you wanna burn Titan Towers to the ground with all of them inside it and then piss on the flames, you're simply not a wrestling fan."
ReplyDeleteOr not mentally unstable. Don't forget that one.
So, Bryan had to surpass Cena for it to be long term? That's where I'm not fully agreeing with you. I doubt the plans have ever been for Reigns to even do that.
ReplyDeleteHis injury killed his momentum. Then after that, they gave him a bunch of awfully scripted promos. They have to build him up better leading into Mania.
ReplyDeleteThey're not off to a good start with Big Show. Plus, The Authority not being around kinda kills his momentum, too. They were pushing him as an anti-Authority rebel, now he isn't rebelling against anything.
ReplyDeleteThere were another 100 comments that led up to that.
ReplyDeleteI think they are well aware of how they handled Ambrose's singles run... they don't like that he became the most over Shield face.
ReplyDeleteI'm very passionate.
ReplyDeleteI was honestly surprised Daniel Bryan was not apart of their original plans. I mean, I didn't believe it until people in WWE started admitting it. WWE has their way to "give fans what they want". It felt too uncharacteristic the way they put Bryan over at WM 30. They made him look like an ultimate world beater.
ReplyDeleteYou can still read his thoughts on NPP if you want.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you got a point there. I consider Punk 400+ day to be long term even though he always played second fiddle to Cena. But I do count Bryan as a short term thing just because he was clearly keeping the belt warm for Brock whereas Punk wasn't really keeping the belt warm for anyone.
ReplyDeleteWell if they did, bad move.
ReplyDeleteHe could be the most over guy on the roster, but not challenging for the belt. Nothing wrong with that.
It's frustrating when WWE and the fans are on different pages. They might think Ambrose is still over, just not a threat to the belt, but what's actually happening is Ambrose losing momentum.
He's rebelling against having good matches!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's really "backlash", per se', it's not like he's getting X-Pac Heat, but the chinks in his armor are REALLY starting to show. He's not being booed, but he's getting less cheers. He has a great entrance, definite look and presence, and some cool signature moves, but there's no "glue" to hold everything together.
ReplyDeleteAs for his promos, yeah, they're pretty bad, but I don't think all the blame should be placed on him - if the guy isn't comfortable on the mic, and he got over as a brooding "man of few words", then Vince is the idiot for trying to change a formula that was working. Not everyone has to be The Rock, even if they're related to him.
If he's not creating separation either then his push is toast :(
ReplyDeleteah, ok;...thanks Bay.. Makes more sense.
ReplyDeleteHis feud with Wyatt is bombing. Bad crowd reaction on RAW and TLC in the main event spot.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bryan was the clear #2 face at the time. Possibly supplanted a bit by movie star Batista who wasn't a long term option. I think that still counts as having long-term plans, and as a guy that could hold the main title.
ReplyDeleteThey have to be aware what a joke Ambrose's PPV singles run has been. I can't buy that they don't.
ReplyDeleteThis is speculative, of course, but I suspect that Bryan would have been shifted back down to the midcard after jobbing to Lesnar, similar to Benoit and Eddie getting demoted pretty quickly after their big wins.
ReplyDeleteI tend to believe WWE knows they are slowing somebody down, but then they confuse that with "he's not getting" over and abandoning it altogether like true idiots.
ReplyDeleteOn his weddinnnnng day!
ReplyDeleteIt felt better than sex!
ReplyDeleteIf Ambrose is really their #2, they suck at booking their #2
ReplyDeleteHe died, so that Bryan may live.
ReplyDeleteCena is ALWAYS Plan B
ReplyDeleteAnd then Bryan had to channel Bran Stark and cripple himself.
ReplyDeleteFrom Out Of Space?
ReplyDeleteWriting in this blog….all alone….
ReplyDeleteYea, but Elimination Chamber was clearly building to him getting the title. At that point, it was obvious he was going to main event, especially with the Del Rio v. Batista match being such a disaster.
ReplyDeleteIt's not like on March 10, they thought: Shit, let's put D-Bry v. HHH.
Kane v. Punk and Kane v. D-Bry were never happening
Somehow i have a sneaky suspicion they gave him that long title reign to shut him up
ReplyDeleteHow far have they really even gone? Reigns' biggest win was over Orton at Summerslam and then....what? He hasn't really even had a major singles feud yet and now he's supposed to be ready for the main event? Let him have a few more months there and make him face some adversity instead of just throwing him in there and hoping he's ready.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would have been booked that way. It worked with Cena because it was Cena and it was so unexpected
ReplyDeleteHe's #2 alright…..as in how shitty he;s being booked
ReplyDeleteDougie is the next meltdown. I can feel it.
ReplyDeleteNah. He's been doing this for too long. He's really good
ReplyDeleteI hope Bryan retires. He's never gonna be as high as he was last year.
ReplyDeleteTheir match at TLC got really good reactions. Until the finish.
ReplyDeleteOr Mar Solo. I'm worried about him. When Dolph doesn't get his push, I fear he'll have a stroke :(
ReplyDeleteHe just needs RVD to score him good shit so he'll always get higher than ever.
ReplyDeleteThat is how WWE works. They punish you if you get more over than planned.
ReplyDeleteI thought the crowd seemeed burned out at TLC. Then again, the network froze all throughout the show for me.
ReplyDeleteBray and Ambrose had quite a bit going against them going into their match with the crowd having been exposed to an overbooked Rollins/Cena match, and Big Show and Kane matches. The crowd started out cold but half way through the crowd was way into their match. Both guys worked hard to get the crowd into it but it was undone with that finish.
ReplyDeleteBryan Truthers continue to be my favorite people.
ReplyDeleteAll signs seem to point that way but he's been inoffensive since adopting this new persona so I'm not gonna go after him.
ReplyDeleteTo be totally fair, there were BOTH boring and DB chants.
ReplyDeleteI'm not either but I find it funny-
ReplyDeleteKyle- I'm not Kyle.
Scott- No, it's Kyle
That's a fantastic exchange.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this Kyle person dammit!
Scott: That's totally Kyle Fitta right there.
He gets a better reaction than Reigns.
ReplyDeleteIt's better to die in a plane crash than to drown.
ReplyDeleteReigns has been portrayed as more important than the entire roster basically. Lengthy undefeated run since breaking from the Shield. Weekly updates on his condition with hokey interviews about the 'Juggernaut'. The Slammy rigging. Showing up on NXT and getting the Poochie treatment in general. There's good reason why many of us and even casuals assume he's winning the Rumble and will be champ soon. Maybe I'm too bullish on Reigns' treatment, but I think he's easily surpassed the point where they have to go all-in on him. And it's their own fault for rushing it on a guy who proved so little as a speaker, character, wrestler, etc... outside of a stable with guys specifically covered those weaknesses.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could remember what match this was, but I remember a discussion, maybe in the Observer, about a match that Austin had where they purposely used bad camera angles or some sort of visual trickery to make Austin look bad, because he was getting a little cocky backstage and they wanted to show him that they could make him or break him if they wanted to by making him not look like so much of a badass. I have to wonder if a similar plan was in play last night with Reigns in that head scratchingly booked match against the Big Show.
ReplyDeleteI still don't see him as the next top guy. I see him more as the next Batista: wins some titles, but is really more there as the monster gladiator who lets his actions do the talking.
ReplyDeleteI suggest Kyle Rayner as your next alias
ReplyDeleteI actually think his injury saved his momentum. He was dying on the vine being the guy in the endless feud with Orton. But his return segment with Big Show had him right back to being the badass people loved in the first place. Granted, they kind of shit the bed with the follow up, but it's not like it's too late to course correct and have him be a destroyer of worlds.
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly expect him to break his own Rumble record this year, unless fans up and decide that Ziggler is the guy and leave Vince and co. no choice. But I'm not sure if there's enough time between now and the Rumble for a revolt of that size, to change the entire direction.
Anyone who thinks Bryan was the plan all along for WM30 probably owns a worthless time share in Boca Raton.
ReplyDeleteWell, they were into it by the end, once Reigns started kicking ass and hitting all his signature spots. But this is the problem with Reigns. He's pretty much all signature spots, and people don't seem to give a shit about the in-between.
ReplyDeleteThink Goldberg in 98. Nobody wanted to see him sell. They just wanted to see him murder dudes in the face. They should be following the Goldberg model with Reigns. There's no reason on Earth I can see that they shouldn't have had Reigns smoke Show in 90 seconds like his name was Noob Saibot.
I was salivating for Brock-Bryan and it looks like thats never gonna happen
ReplyDeleteThe things you do for love.
ReplyDeleteI was more bothered by the "piss on the ashes" part -- I mean, how will you masturbate if you're busy pissing?
ReplyDeleteWell he went away and was fired afterwards, but I didn't mind, because he went away first.
ReplyDeleteOver or not, I can't see Reigns beating Lesnar. They are too similar and Lesnar is just bigger and better. On the other side someone like Ambrose or Bryan is totally different and this could be the important thing. I mean, when even CENA can't beat Lesnar... then you have to make a different plan than just trying to overpower him. It's like rock, paper, scissors. Lesnar is a rock. Cena is a rock. Reigns is a rock - and rock vs rock is just a tie, but paper can beat rock. If you know what I mean. :-)
ReplyDeleteTo the company's credit, once they switched gears, they put Bryan over like a god.
ReplyDeleteAlso, with all the talk of 'hijacking', I have to wonder just what would've happened if they'd stuck with the original plan. A loudly-booed main event and maybe a slightly lower buyrate? Hardly the end of the world.
I can't imagine Ambrose beating Lesnar in any scenario, unless he whacks him with a chair about a million times. Nothing would be more ludicrous than seeing Brock trying to sell for Ambrose and the ridiculous swats that are seemingly supposed to pass for punches.
ReplyDeleteWas Bryan's injury/surgery the result of an injury he sustained while working with Kane post-WrestleMania, or was it a cumulative thing that would've happened eventually anyway?
ReplyDeleteI ask because in hindsight, I think it would've made more sense for Evolution to re-form the night after WrestleMania and become Bryan's next round of challengers; do the 1-on-1 rematch with Orton at Extreme Rules, beat Batista at the June PPV, and either do Bryan-HHH at SummerSlam or move Bryan onto the next big feud. But if Bryan would've been injured either way, it doesn't matter.
It's odd that Bryan was perhaps the most protected guy in the company during the Authority and Wyatt stuff. I think his Rumble match against Bray was the only clean one-on-one loss he took in at least 8 months. Hell, when you think about it, the running knee is still probably the most protected finisher in the company.
ReplyDeleteThey do seem to try and 'test' the talent a lot.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that had more to do with somebody's insistence on keeping Big Show strong. Having Show dominate his feud with Rowan and then having Harper take multiple bullets for Show in multi-man matches seems like they're protecting Show for some reason.
ReplyDeleteThey're protecting him because's he's BIG!!!
ReplyDeleteSadly, Scott is becoming Sports Talk Radio, in that he only posts mail from complete retards to churn up discussion. Ala the "FIRE THE COACH!" idiots that troll sports stations. I mean, I get it, but no need to act all insulted when every mailbag question answered is from a dope.
ReplyDeleteRyback is WWE's most over wrestler. Ziggler #2.
ReplyDeleteIt absolutely would have been booked that way. The reaction they were allegedly looking for was to "break the hearts of the crowd." I will say if that's the case I'm glad it was Cena to take the beating.
ReplyDeleteWho sends emails anymore? The best discussion happens down here.
ReplyDeleteRoman really needs to be booked as a monster face who rarely talks and has short matches in the same vein as Goldberg. He has the charisma to be a top star but every time he opens his mouth and does his shit-eating grin the segment just dies.
ReplyDeleteImagine if Goldberg had wrestled 15 minute matches and cut 5 minute promos in the beginning of his push? He would've had a tough time getting over too.
There were loud "Roman sucks!" chants during the Santa's Helper divas match.
ReplyDeleteWell you can't beat him with strength (maybe Big Show or Khali), so you have to find other ways.
ReplyDeleteThey never waited for Swagger or Miz to be ready. WWE booking is tiresome and quite predictable and they've said it will be Reigns. It's who they want it doesn't matter if that's what anyone else wants.
ReplyDeleteHe got it from a thread
ReplyDeleteDoes that make Ambrose the scissors? He cant beat anyone.
ReplyDeleteThats the thing though. He's main evented 2 out of the last 3 ppvs. And main events raw and smackdown usually. On paper it looks like he is there number 2 but he isnt booked that way.
ReplyDeleteIf he hunted Brock down whenever he was vulnerable and psyched him out, you know like a legitimate lunatic, it might work, but Brock would have to actually he available to sell it.
ReplyDeleteDid you see his match with fandango on SD? Fandango got plenty of offence in. Fandango.
ReplyDeleteThat didnt work out so well.
ReplyDeleteThat yes chant wouldnt allow it I dont think. Im sure thats what the wwewanted though.
ReplyDeleteForget it. People hear and see what they want, not what's really there.
ReplyDeletePunk was keeping the belt warm for The Rock.
ReplyDeleteMake no mistake, he had a 400-day reign because they needed Cena to stay away from the belt to sell his "year of redemption" and The Rock wasn't coming back to work matches on the reg. Punk was in the right place at the right time to be the belt pillow to facilitate that storyline.
Oops. it does indeed say that right there at the top. My bad!
ReplyDeleteThat revolt was awesome.
ReplyDeleteHe can beat anyone on paper.
ReplyDeleteI think it was a cumulative thing.
ReplyDeleteThey kinda suck at booking everybody.
ReplyDeleteProof positive that fans do not know what's best for business.
ReplyDeletePaperclip, distraction, Sister Abigail 1-2-3
ReplyDeleteI think of it in reverse: Bryan was their plan to main event and win at WM30, UNLESS the Batista babyface return and Rumble win was a mighty success.
ReplyDeleteSeems like things are finally looking up for Bryan's recovery.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.inquisitr.com/1686756/wwe-news-daniel-bryan-receives-two-awards-when-will-he-be-returning-to-wwe-action/
Because the plan all along always gets shoehorned into the title picture a couple weeks before Wrestlemania!
ReplyDeleteSo the plan was to put the belt on Batista? I didn't follow the WM 30 buildup but wasn't he constantly getting shitted on by the "WWE universe" after returning?
ReplyDeleteIt's "shat upon", and yes he was.
ReplyDeleteIt was a surreal experience being in attendance at last year's Rumble. Like we often get the smarky chants for Savage, RVD, Lawler, JBL, etc but that was different. An entire audience became furious with what they realized was happening and showed their contempt.
ReplyDeleteWell that never stopped them from pushing Cena.
ReplyDeleteWe were burned out but can you blame us? After a hot opener, we witnessed two of the worst matches of the year. The Reigns appearance excited the crowd but the overbooked tables match also led to a lot of "what the fuck is going on here" reactions.
ReplyDeleteVince is an unstable control freak and their writing team is pathetic and ham-handed, but that does not mean that WWE does not have a contingency plan at the most crucial of situations.
ReplyDeleteAt the same show you had Lesnar beating Taker, right? They might not have gotten to that conclusion until mere hours before the match, but weeks in advance they made sure that if Brock was the guy to do it, he'd be the opponent.
That seems to be the way WWE works.
Cena earns the company the most money so he's always going to keep getting the push.
ReplyDeleteCena has gotten and still does get unanimous boos, but certainly not at every show. Dave was getting heel heat from every demo.
ReplyDeleteYour hero, Randy Orton, telling Batista that the fans hated him even more than Orton was funny.
ReplyDeleteIt different ... fans have never hijacked a pay per view because of Cena the way they did at the Royal Rumble, the Seattle Raw, and other times. Cena still has his core fans that come to every show.
ReplyDeletethe Seattle Raw was even better on the show before the TLC Cena vs. Orton match
ReplyDeleteHey-ohhhh!
ReplyDeleteStill will watch that on YouTube from time to time. Triple H at least played it off well. I don't know if Vince would have known what to do.
ReplyDeleteMiz was standing next to him and he has this look on his face like, "yeah, fuck HHH"
ReplyDeleteI watched the end of the Rumble again last night and hearing the crowd turn on Rey Mysterio and then just start booing the entire match is tremendous.
ReplyDeleteHeyman could put others in the way of Ambrose to stop him like Cesaro or (even better) Seth Rollins.
ReplyDeleteI have a bad feeling that instead of riding the Ziggler momentum, their logic is to build up Dolph until the Rumble so Reigns looks even better when he eliminates him.
ReplyDeleteTwo months eh? So after the Rumble. Him coming out at the Rumble and announcing his return in February should prevent any pro-Bryan rebellion during that match
ReplyDeleteThey ran Orton/Bryan 3 or 4 times after Summerslam, they weren't saving it for Wrestlemania.
ReplyDelete"What the hell is Seattle? Sounds like a skin disease! Have some fun, people!"
ReplyDeleteBig props to John Cena, for keeping his head and containing a potential Fukushima into a mere Three Mile Island.
ReplyDeleteLook Scott... there goes the joke. Wave bye bye to the joke...
ReplyDeleteYeah, but they muffed up on Dave from the get-go... having him come out and shake hands with Triple H and Stephanie. Dave was best as a "lone wolf" type of guy.
ReplyDeleteA little too ironic.
ReplyDeleteThe MLB Universe is coming unglued! It's a movement Maggle!
ReplyDeleteWell, good. I'm all for him coming back, as long as he's healthy.
ReplyDeleteThe real kicker on that for me was when the crowd realized DBry was not going to enter, and then they started to get behind Reigns. Then he got tossed, and it was like the whole audience just said, "oh, fuck this company!"
ReplyDeleteIt's like 10,000 Miz matches when all you need is a Daniel Bryan match.
ReplyDeleteIf Bryan is ready to go for Wrestlemania, how about a rematch with Cena? That's a safely big enough match for both guys, keeping them away from Roman's Reign.
ReplyDeleteI'll email Scott and see if he thinks Cena should turn heel for that match.
ReplyDeleteDave also said that the main event was going to be Vince's avatar vs HHH's avatar and nobody believed that at the time either! Dave is always right! Unless what he says doesn't happen and that's because they changed it!
ReplyDeleteAnd then Eric Bischoff can come out and say "The Bisch never forgets!" as Booker T, Ernest Miller, Buff Bagwell and La Parka all come out and lay a beating on Cena and Bryan while JBL chimes in "The WCW Universe is having fun, Maggle! I love it!"
ReplyDeleteI remember him saying that HHH would face Vince's Guy to close off a long running suble build of Vince vs HHH. I'll presume that guy was to be CM Punk in the Punk vs HHH match we all know to have been planned. So that all works out just fine, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteEasily the worst person here. The John Edwards clones are better contributors.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just wrestling journalism that's affected, read any newspaper from the cold war and it'll say "nuclear war is going to break out! Uh, unless they change their minds then it won't happen...."
ReplyDeleteSlow work day. Here until six and then to an Aunt's home for an Italian Christmas Eve Dinner.
ReplyDeleteGotta get this to 50 million by the end of the year:

Wait...didn't we just do this yesterday?
ReplyDeleteBayless....why you slackin', bro?
u mad bro?
ReplyDelete
