  1. I'm curios to see what factors are people using to vote. To me, I've just been using who were the better pure team or the better champions.

Unless it's The Nasty Boys because fuck The Nasty Boys

    ReplyDelete
  2. This has to be the toughest bracket. I'm rooting for the Steiner Bros...but my personal favorites (and huge underdogs) are DDP and Kanyon.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Potential great matches:

    Dudleyz/E&C
    Air Boom/Los Guerreros
    Rey & Edge/Hart Foundation

    ReplyDelete
  4. Id like to vote for eddie and tajarii but I had no idea they even teamed let alone won titles. Eh fuck it.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Mostly voting AGAINST Big Show and Undertaker

    ReplyDelete
  6. I will typically vote for my favorite team. But a team is typically among my favorites because of quality of work, importance to tag team wrestling, titles won, etc. There are exceptions--here, for example, I voted for Regal and Tajiri over X-Pac and Kane simply because Regal and Tajiri were so much fun together on screen.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Pretty easy to vote for them over the Bashams anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I struggled with Strike Force and Hardy Boys. I clicked Hardy Boys but wondered if I picked the right one.

    ReplyDelete
  9. When voting between The Quebecers and Rock/Jericho, remember that Jacques and Pierre's vocals on their entrance theme is better than Jericho's vocals on every Fozzy song combined.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Steiners, Hart Foundation, Team No...on you go to the next round

    ReplyDelete
  11. Strike Force/Hardyz & Jarrett &Owen/Bulldogs should be very close. But the Dudleyz/E&C match could go to the wire.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Johnny Polo supporting the Quebecers? Never thought I'd see the day.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Some of my factors as to who I choose to win are:
    - the ones I prefer to watch.
    - the ones that I think would have actually won at the time.
    - the team that doesn't have a double murderer on it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm voting for who were the best tag team either matches or angles, during the period they were either champions or in the title hunt. So ignoring their careers before & after.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I can see The Quebecers beating Rock and Jericho easily thanks to a massive amount of cheating. That, or Jericho could kick the Rock's leg out from under his leg. Both these scenarios are highly probable.

I just go with instinct on who would win a match if it was actually booked. I really don't get most of the choices people have made. It's almost as if THE INTERNET wants John Cena and his teams to LOSE, when IN FACT, his teams would probably WIN! Also, if Big Show or Kane are on a team, better vote them out also.

I'm sorry but HBK/HHH would have beaten The Hart Foundation. Jim Niedhart is the weak link there. John Cena and Batista would have creamed whoever they face (I can't remember).

Like I said, it's the Crockett Memorial Internet Revenge Cup.

    Let it go.

    ReplyDelete
  18. But this poll is serious stuff jdw. I cant vote for a team that I never knew was a team. I must uphold the integrity of this poll.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I find this attitude to towards Chris Benoit really interesting.
In real life he committed murder-suicide but his on screen character did not, if it was a tournament for best sitcom characters would you take into account the actors real life?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah I'm gonna work the gimmick so long as the Q's are in the tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Strike Force, Bulldogs, and E&C

    ReplyDelete
  22. I basically suspend disbelief and go with who I would expect to win if kayfabe was alive and well and PWI was covering this tourney. Hence, I will keep voting for The Steiner Brothers until the end.

Besides, the 1988-1991 Steiners were a level of awesome no team has ever topped.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 3, 2015 at 2:56 PM

However, logic dictates that X-Pac and Kane would win that match. Regal and Tajiri may have been fun, but there were never at the level of X-Pac/Kane as a team or individually.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 3, 2015 at 2:58 PM

Undertaker and Big Show would squash Billy & Chuck in under 2 minutes. Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  25. John cena teams tend to be shortlived so that's why nobody is likely to vote them as favourite. Plus the HHH/HBK team was from 2006? rather than the awesome 97 version.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Billy & Chuck were a decent team, their fake wedding was actually a really good bit of tv.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Most people are using the daily thread.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I could see Undertaker getting tired of Big Show smacking over the head with a chair allowing Billy or Chuck to pin him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 3D ON CHRISTIAN!!!!! AND THE DUDLEYZ ADVANCE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. They says all teams are created equal, but you look at the Steiner Brothers and you look at Evolution and you'll realize that statement is not true.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well let's see Eddie slamed Tajiri through a windshield but Chavo sat at ringside while Eddie got beat up by the Bashams.

    ReplyDelete
  32. CruelConnectionNumber2January 3, 2015 at 3:45 PM

Chris Benoit may have to face The Undertaker.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Night - Honorary BSK MemberJanuary 3, 2015 at 3:45 PM

    Strike Force!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hardy Boyz!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would vote DDP & Kanyon for President if I could. Jersey Triad all day! And I hate Jersey!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I can't believe that any civilized person would think that the Hardy Boyz are anywhere near the team of Strikeforce. Strikeforce 4 Life.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Who fuckin cares man? If everyone voted like that DX would jave won the whole thing without need for a tourney. The fun is in voting for your. favorites. i don't care what scenario Taker/Show would be in where they'd win, no one wants to see them. Honestly makes no sense to guess who would be kayfabe winners unless the goal was to depress everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Strike Force were dull as dogshit, kinda fruity, and had awful entrance music. Hardyz all day.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I feel like my love of the urban legends surrounding Andre and Haku is gonna result in me pushing Collosal Connection every time.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Maybe, but part of the fun is picking a non-WWE ending

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm with you. I hope they go all the way.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Everything you say goes double for Hardyz.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Benoit can't win the big one. He will choke.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Triple murderer. Suicide is murder.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You can't call anyone else fruity while talking about the Hardyz. Glorified test dummies. Never a fan of either. Tito Santana and Rick Martel are two all time greats who instantly gelled together. Agree to disagree.

    ReplyDelete
  46. E & C vs Dudleyz this early. Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I want Cena's team to lose because I'm tired of him. As Scott said, vote on whatever criteria you want. I think what's fun about this is that we may not get a predictable winner that's best for business.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm hoping for Benoit/Jericho getting in the finals.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Strike Force had Girls in Cars, which makes them awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1. Real teams over gimmick pairings
    2. Who I enjoyed more

    ReplyDelete
  51. I love Tito and Martel, but they were together for not even a year (accounting for the Martel injury) and were nothing more than an mid-card attraction. The Hardys have drawn money and been presented as main event level attractions from 1999 up until this year (main evented several huge indy shows over here and in Japan plus their TNA stuff). In my voting longevity + star power wins every time.

Also, why Martel and Tito blow each of them away as individual workers, I think the Hardys are much better tag workers.

    ReplyDelete
  52. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 3, 2015 at 4:56 PM

Yeah that's kinda shoddy seeding when they could legit be strong candidates for Elite Eight

    ReplyDelete
  53. Strikeforce TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!! Such a great team. Together for no time and still won the titles with ease. Such naturals in the ring. Such generals. Total pros and they knew how to work the formula. Great satin jackets. They were winners.

    ReplyDelete
  54. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 3, 2015 at 4:57 PM

    Hardyz, E&C, bulldogs

    ReplyDelete
  55. You will not denigrate Tito or Martel with any of this drivel. Strike Force!

    ReplyDelete
  56. There was no seeding, hence why we saw LOD/Demolition in the first round.

    ReplyDelete
  57. You did not, sir.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Not really.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Dudleys vs Edge and Christian is tough.

Dudleys have lasted much longer and some of their ECW stuff was awesome. E&C had the stronger WWE career and kept getting better over time. Dudleys had the better finisher, but E&C usually put on better matches. Both were innovative and good-to-great at cutting promos in the best era of professional wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  60. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighJanuary 3, 2015 at 5:31 PM

Big E&C fan but went dudleys... Was tough

    ReplyDelete
  61. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessJanuary 3, 2015 at 5:34 PM

Probably never gonna happen. A thread that includes Benoit MUST have an argument over whether we're bad people for not ignoring him.

    ReplyDelete
  62. CruelConnectionNumber2January 3, 2015 at 5:47 PM

Dudleys. E & C had like two years.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm all in on Benoit / Angle, very short lived but just tremendous in every facet of tag team wrestling while they were doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Short-lived....just like Daniel Benoit

    ReplyDelete
  65. As long as the Nasty's and Air Boom get the boot, I am happy.

Pity if the Hardyz beat Strike Force too, but I'm more or less resigned to that.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Strike Force was fruity, in the face of the Hardyz?

Hardyz are actually fruitier than Billy and Chuck drinking fruit punch at a fruit stand.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think that was my favourite ever Freebird rule team.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hardyz v Strike Force is really easy. Which team did more flips off of ladders?

Whichever team does more flips off of ladders loses.

Go back, watch some matches, and count. Remember, flipping off of ladders makes you terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  69. APA vs Wild Samoans would have been a helluva brawl.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It's not like that's all they did. And even if it was, it way more exciting and re watchable

    ReplyDelete
  71. That is pretty much all that they did, and you are wrong. Jeff in particular has no offense whatsoever that isn't idiotic. It's science.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Do you really just say "It's science"? We're comparing two teams in a fake sport that were a decade apart from each other. Disagree with me about the Hardys all ya want, but nothing about it is "science"

    ReplyDelete
  73. Jeff Hardy blows. It's science. There are formulas. Look it up. I'll wait.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Trust me, I'm sure you'd wait.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Even though you'd be downvoting me right now over this Hardys/Strike Force stuff, it's a shame they got rid of downvotes. Why did they do that?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Theberzerker Von HUSSingtonJanuary 3, 2015 at 8:10 PM

So would Benoit & Jericho vs. the Nasties, when you think about it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Dunno, just don't want to hurt people's feelings I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  78. That's like 144K a year, not too bad.
