Undertaker Update
As of now the plan still remains for the Undertaker to stay off of TV until he makes his entrance at WrestleMania.

Sheamus Update
Sheamus will also be kept off of TV until WrestleMania. No word on what match he will be working in but it seems likely it will either be the WrestleMania Intercontinental Title Ladder Match or the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

He'll get the strap again, they'll probably throw it on John Cena/Randy Orton after the great Roman Empire experiment flops as expected but they'll want to feud with someone who can still draw and it wont be long until Daniel rises to the top of that very very short list.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't Savage save Crush when he was getting Banzi Dropped into oblivion? I remember it being something vague about him not being allowed to leave the desk but really he just sat on his ass when Crush was getting...well...crushed. Nowadays the ICW would turn on Savage in a heartbeat for that.
ReplyDelete"WWE Attempting to Trademark Hand Gesture"
ReplyDeleteMan, WWE will do anything to get a quick buck expect give the fans something they want.
I went to the Nets game last night. I am 1-6 this season and the last three games haven't even been competitive.
ReplyDeleteI did meet Rod Thorn which was something
Eagles expected to sign Ryan Matthews. And Brandon Browner is visiting the Saints.
ReplyDeleteThis part-time crap has got to stop. Undertaker not showing up until the show is just really laughable.
ReplyDelete49ers releasing Stevie Johnson.
ReplyDeleteCan you even trademark a hand gesture?
ReplyDeleteEspecially if the fans could eventually make them "give in" again.
ReplyDeleteFor merchandising purposes I think you can.
ReplyDeleteHow did that go?
ReplyDelete"As of now the plan still remains for the Undertaker to stay off of TV until he makes his entrance at WrestleMania....they're currently keeping him in a sealed ziplock bag for fear that he may rot away."
ReplyDeleteI don't know if that's possible.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'm doin', FELLA!
ReplyDeleteHe was on the phone and I waited a minute but then wanted to catch the train so I just yelled: We still love you Rod! and he smiled and said thank you.
ReplyDeleteIf he showed up, it could have been a good spin on the story. His loss literally is turning him into a dead man.
ReplyDeleteDDP trademarked the Diamond Cutter symbol. He sued Jay-Z and 3Oh3 and I think made out well
ReplyDeleteI really hope Brian Lee shows up as The Undertaker!
ReplyDeleteVINTAGE DEADMAN MAGGLE!
Might as well have Sheamus be the "surprise" entrant and win the Battle Royal. Guys a good worker, i just pray they can freshen up his character.
ReplyDeleteHe could probably provide a good 2 month feud with Roman on top if that's what they're planning.
Summer of 1993 was a cool time. A young HBK was absolutely CARRYING Raw, Raw itself was still fresh and fun, and there was this weird sense in the air, with Hogan being gone, and Heenan getting off the occasional zinger (most likely dictated by Vince)
ReplyDeletePicture it, Bryan wins the ladder match, then minutes later Sheamus challenges him for the title. Bryan accepts and loses it in 18 seconds.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if Insane Clown Wrestling would turn on Savage. You'd have to ask Shaggy Too Dope.
ReplyDeleteCrap, this means we're going to see the Clique back so WWE can claim they're still using it.
ReplyDeleteDolphins expecting to release Randy Starks
ReplyDeleteOh you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteTalk about overcrowding the morning with posts. I checked around 8:15 and there was the Monday Nitro recap and then, less than an hour later, three new posts, including the daily thread.
ReplyDeleteSmackdown spoilers reveal what he's doing at Mania.
ReplyDeleteDaily Update thread almost every morning at 9am. Its a staple.
ReplyDeleteAnd the King making fun of Bret Harts parents. Can't forget that.
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda tough on Bray Wyatt, who really hasn't won any major feuds, to carry an entire angle without his opponent there.
ReplyDeleteSo HHH and Bray get to build their matches at Wrestlemania by talking to themselves. Meanwhile, Brock shows up twice and doesn't say a word while his opponent cuts the most awkward/forced since Benoit was champ.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. They're really going for the hard sell here.
Yup, and look how fast we flock to it!
ReplyDeleteExcept yesterday, BAYLESS YOU FUCK!
ReplyDeleteI was at the hospital, Sally
ReplyDeleteWasn't this at the same time Savage did a WWF Radio interview blasting Hogan?
ReplyDeleteOh absolutely, and that's what I was looking for when I gave Scott another page view when I saw the two other posts.
ReplyDeleteSo Bryan has a Mania program finally/predictably. Even so, though, as of Thursday, there's only 2.5 weeks left until the biggest show of the year, and they didn't even have their NUMBER ONE BABYFACE IN THE COMPANY booked at all. What the serious fuck! I mean, I suppose he was being saved as backup for if Brock walked out, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have been booked in something else at the same time. It is un-fucking-fathomable what is going on with this company...all their absolutely screwy decisions make no sense anymore. I think their doctors need to check Vince's brain for syphilis or something because with shit like this, it's gone from just bad booking to full on self-destruction now.
ReplyDeleteThey brought him back because they wanted Bryan fans to buy the Rumble thinking he had a chance of winning. Simple as that.
ReplyDeleteThey were stupid enough to not realize it was going to royally backfire.
Although I disagree with Scott's assessment that it destroyed Reigns' heat. You can't destroy something that doesn't exist in the first place.
Son, if you want to make it in THIS BUSINESS you don't do things like hospitals. Hospitals are for veterans who have paid their dues and grabbed the brass ring.
ReplyDeleteSince becoming Bray on WWE TV, though, all of his angles have been basically built on him talking, though. The guy actually has the gift of gab, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.
ReplyDeleteHe can do it. I think he's immensely talented, I'm just whining that he hasn't won anything big yet.
ReplyDeleteUhhhhhh................ok on Bryan's involvement at Wrestlemania.
ReplyDeleteIf he left the announce table he risked getting suspended. Not sure why someone like Lugar or Bret or Duggan didn't save Crush then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
ReplyDeleteThe posting is schizophrenic. There will be no posts for ten hours then several over the span of a couple, with half of them involving 90's WCW
ReplyDeleteHe's fighting for the prestigious IC title of course!
ReplyDeleteHow the mighty have fallen
ReplyDeleteSo Raw ratings have dropped almost a full point since this time last year, no?
ReplyDeleteAlthough they didn't have anything for him when he returned he certainly will be back in the main event at some point. Everyone calm down.
ReplyDeletePlenty of past B+ players have worn that title!
ReplyDeleteThat is what happens when you push a guy no one cares for or wants in the main event.
ReplyDeleteDuggan has already been destroyed by Yoko...he wanted no part of him, Luger was on a bus, and Bret hard had tears in his eyes from The King making fun of his family.
ReplyDeleteI mean, obviously, Scott can post whenever he wants. It's his blog. But outside of some of Scott's recaps, I only really show up for the morning daily thread and the evening open thread.
ReplyDeleteOH! And Thursday shoot recaps. Bayless 4 Life!
I can't even spin this into a "Cena needs to be back on top" joke, since at this time last year fans were finally getting the Bryan storyline they wanted.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching a Bret vs Bigelow match on Raw with King in the crowd at the Manhattan Centre insulting Bret's parents, and it felt like it went on for approximately 70 minutes. Worst part was it interrupted what was a really good match.
ReplyDeleteoooooh, never heard that. Juicy.
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying things are good....?
ReplyDeleteHis streak is over too, there's really no point in having him there.
ReplyDeleteThey've been under 3.0 for a few weeks in a row. Shouldn't surprise anyone.
ReplyDeleteWWE trying to trademark hand gestures? Good luck with that. The Young Bucks must have really pissed in WWE's cheerios. Why not trademark wrestling moves too?
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest for a second.
ReplyDeleteWould you rather have Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania OR Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar NO HOLDS BAAAAAAAAARED.
COUGH SMACKDOWN SPOILERS COUGH.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Scott can post whatever he wants whenever he wants. His stuff brings in the hits too.
ReplyDeleteJohn Cena is the NUMBER ONE BABYFACE IN THE COMPANY, he's the biggest draw, and is going to give them the biggest number of buys/subscriptions.
ReplyDeleteBryan is behind Taker, String, HHH, Lesnar and arguably Reigns as draw so his program is not getting the same level of promotion as the ones that are actually going to make the company money.
If I never see Orton cut a "reading cue cards" promo again, it'll be too soon.
ReplyDeleteI don't really see the big deal with any of it. What's the worst part of having sporadic posting? Say there's 3 posts in the span of 5 minutes: What will I do? I don't want to read one of the three posts! I guess I'll have to....I don't know....scroll away from it? OUCH! MY CARPAL TUNNEL, DAMN IT!
ReplyDeleteAll they've done with Bryan since coming back is seriously damage his credibility as a main-eventer. Having him endorse Reigns after Fastlane did nothing but hurt both men, which is especially idiotic considering Rocky did it a month ago and it failed then.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this Wrestlemania will shock us all and be the best Mania of all time.
ReplyDeleteThe ladder match will be an awesome ***** spotfest to rival TLC2.
Bray will send Taker into retirement
Cena and Rusev will have a crazy brawl with Cena doing the right thing and jobbing like a trooper
Sting and Triple H will have a delightfully overbooked match that exceeds all expectations.
Brock and Roman will have a smash mouth bloody brawl that makes both guys look a million bucks and Reigns end the show as champion to huge cheers
Best Mania ever
Who's with me?
Kind of a shame we haven't yet gotten a Cena vs. Bryan PPV main event again. I know Bryan's only been back for 2 PPVs, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon based on the current direction. That was a hell of a match -- probably Cena's last great non-Brock match, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteAt least twice in the first round of the WWF Title Tournament at WrestleMania IV, the manager clearly interfered in the match WHILE THE REFEREE WAS LOOKING AT THE MANAGER. And did that wrestler get disqualified? NO! Terrible officiating! Where was Jack Tunney? Was wasn't Gorilla Monsoon outraged? Why didn't Vince fire those damn refs, or at least have Donald Trump do it?
ReplyDeleteCena, I'll grant you that. Reigns is in their eyes, not in reality. And the rest have bigger programs, but Bryan is still a HUGE crowd favorite, so waiting that long to book him into anything, let alone a lame program, is pure batshit.
ReplyDeleteFor WWE's sake, they better put him in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, because he's undoubtedly winning whatever he's in. And if they're banking on the 'Welcome Back!' reaction for fucking Sheamus, this show will be a disaster. I almost DARE them to put Sheamus over Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan. Santa Clara will be out for blood.
ReplyDeleteWhat a turd.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.macho-madness.net/randys_radio_interview.html
ReplyDeleteThey went up against a GREAT episode of Better Call Saul this Monday.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure. He certainly won't be back in it for more than perhaps a placeholder feud.
ReplyDeleteIn WWE's eyes they've got to get through at least a Reigns run and a Rollins run first before he comes anywhere near the title again and that's without factoring in Orton (always a favourite despite what he does), Wyatt (who they are clearly high on), the NXT guys who are going to get moved up at some point and....of course....Cena.
They refused to book him on top when logic and storytelling has demanded it so I see no reason why he gets back there now (storyline wise) he has no legit reason to be.
Unless the waterobics class that Taker and Sting are doing at the Y is in the fountain of youth, I don't see it.
ReplyDeleteRight, but you're still potentially splitting your audience by posting three different topics so close to each other (especially when one is a daily destination topic).
ReplyDeleteRoman Reigns is collecting endorsements of people much more popular than he is like he is a politician. I half-expect a Clinton or a Bush to come out on RAW and endorse Reigns as the next WWE champion.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do like shining them though.
ReplyDeleteThank god you are here to maintain peace. Without you this place would be madness, MADNESS !
ReplyDeleteTheir #1 and #2 babyfaces did have programs, what are you talking about? Rusev/Cena was set from the Rumble on, and Reigns/Lesnar was ready to go by the end of February.
ReplyDeleteIn that case, Nova could become the wrestling world's patent troll.
ReplyDeleteThat tournament was not very good at all. Even as a kid I thought it was boring as shit.
ReplyDeleteThe 90s WCW stuff has got to stop. I know I'm in the minority but Chris F-B is pretty terrible.
ReplyDeleteI meant in the eyes of the fans. But they don't give a shit about their fans (or money or logic or sanity) so, point taken.
ReplyDeleteThe DQs would have significantly changed the makeup of the tournament. DiBiase should have been disqualified against Duggan and One Man Gang should have lost to Bam Bam.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I dont want to review stuff everyone else has done or is doing. I'd rather stick to 80's WWF, RoH, and even the early TNA or OVW and other territory stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt's just mind boggingly stupid that the WWE had two obvious main events screaming at them in the face all year and they could have run both this year (and the title could in theory have been involved in either of them) yet we have ended up with neither.
ReplyDeleteShield Triple Threat
Brock vs Bryan
One of these we will probably never see now and the more Dean Ambrose is treated like a joke the less likely the other one becomes.
How can a company screw up so bad over the course of one year?
Having Hogan and Andre match up made sense and was smart at the time, but it stopped them from having Savage and Steamboat match up again, which in hindsight really hamstrung the show.
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time a WrestleMania had build where several guys were kept off TV for months leading into it?
ReplyDeleteClinton or Bush: "Ryan Roman is my favorite WWF champion!"
ReplyDeleteWorst overall use of talent in one night until King of the Ring 2000.
ReplyDeleteLast year?
ReplyDeleteThat was a joke, by the way.
ReplyDeleteThey are missing out - they could have Roman, Bray, and HHH cut face to face promos with cardboard cutouts of Sting, Undertaker, and Brock. Better yet, they could have a cardboard cut out of Roman AND a cardboard cutout of Brock just standing in the ring.
ReplyDeleteThe plan was for Steamboat/Savage II but they switched it and at that point Steamboat realized the WWF wasnt going to push him and left.
ReplyDeleteI get him doing the B-shows, but these 97 RAWs and Nitros have already been reviewed on this site. Plus, he seems to have no consideration for when he posts stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt's just the usual five or six jokes, some irrelevant play by play and a meaningless star rating. Terrible
So DDP owns the illuminati hand gesture, interesting ....
ReplyDeleteThey could just have Trump do it again because he's sort of a politician:
ReplyDelete"Ryan Roman, a Samoan gentleman who is the strongest guy I've ever seen!"
The only comparable angle I can think of is the UnderFaker angle, where Taker didn't appear until the PPV. But that was SS, not WM.
ReplyDeleteFood for thought: going by the 1990 WWF hierarchy of babyfaces, here is where we're at right now:
ReplyDelete1. The role of Hulk Hogan is being played by John Cena.
2. The role of Ultimate Warrior is being played by Roman Reigns.
3. The role of Brutus Beefcake is being played by Daniel Bryan.
4. The role of Jake 'the Snake' Roberts is being played by Dean Ambrose.
5. The role of the Big Bossman will be played by Sheamus.
7. The role of Koko B. Ware is being played by Dolph Ziggler.
8. The role of Barry O. is being played by Erick Rowan.
"How can a company screw up so bad over the course of one year?"
ReplyDeleteBecause at least a year ago, Vince decided Roman Reigns was the Next Big Thing, and nothing, not even the opinions of paying customers, was going to prevent that.
Jesus that was cool. That should have been made way more widely available than it was. Cooler than any tv storyline that year, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem but this is mostly all stuff that Logan/Tommy are doing and have been doing. I have read at least three different people review episodes of 1996 WCW Nitro here.
ReplyDeleteYay, Ryan Matthews! The guy I draft in my fantasy leagues nearly every year (along with Stevan Ridley) who I think "if he stays healthy this year!..." until a fortnight later and he's hurt and then it's 1am and I'm drunk and I'm in the bathroom with the lights off, looking in the mirror and repeating his name to myself over and over like its the Candyman.
ReplyDelete"Ravishing" Rick Rude HAD to be a gay icon in the 1980s, right?
ReplyDeleteThis isn't television. You don't "split your audience". It's all on the same website. He's getting hits no matter what page your on.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I think Vince's perception of people buying WrestleMania because it's WrestleMania is hurting the shows.
ReplyDelete...Vince?
ReplyDeleteIf you had of said that to Billy King he would have snapped "who sent you? Who do you work for?" like a paranoid maniac.
ReplyDeleteAh, good old WrestleMania IV. 9 hours and 45 matches long.
ReplyDeleteI pointed that out to him and he was like: I REVIEW WHAT I WANT TO REVIEW TOUGH SHIT and then everyone else was like: We like Chris F-B more!
ReplyDeleteI can't win with these people.
Its how he booked Cena/Rock II. Look how that turned out. Crowd was dead.
ReplyDeleteBrutus Beefcake, I think. More ambiguous about his sexuality with the Side Ass Special going on, and Rude was pretty adamantly a chick magnet.
ReplyDeleteHHH should have cut a promo on a cardboard cutout and then dropped some elbows on it like Ric Flair did to that picture of Sting in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteIt's been that way for a while, and it doesn't seem to hurt the buy rates. Look at the difference in cards from the first 10 years to the last 10 years. Multiple tag matches, every title defended, a variety of stuff going on, but on the down side, you only had one, maybe two, good matches per card.
ReplyDeleteNow, you've got multi-man matches and spot fests all over the place. It's a different industry with a different audience.
Womanizer. Think 'Larry from Three's Company" but tougher.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you needed me.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you haven't EARNED ME!
Upvote for the use of "fortnight".
ReplyDeletePfft, there was nothing gay about the Booty Man. NOTHING!
ReplyDelete"I REVIEW WHAT I WANT TO REVIEW" should really be turned into, "You'll review what we approve. Sit down and shut the fuck up and if you don't like it, go to 411."
ReplyDeleteHis original Brutus Beefcake vignettes were so horrible I've always thought they were a rib.
ReplyDeleteThey could have given the title at the Rumble to Rollins.
ReplyDeleteTrue but they could have still gone with Roman and done the Triple Threat. It guarantees a good match, plays on the background of Shield and hides Roman's limitations behind the two guys he knows best who also happen to be good workers.
ReplyDeleteStill could have got to this situation from the Rumble s well:
Seth beats Brock via cash in. Lesnar in a huff beats the snot out of Bryan and eliminates him from Rumble. Reigns and Ambrose do a double finish of sorts to become double No 1 Contenders.
He also can't take criticism well but that seems to go for 99 percent of this blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is ignoring the fact that Vince's plan was to have Lesnar beat the Streak, Lesnar win the title, and Reigns beat Lesnar for the "streak rub" and the title. That was the plan, and he's sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteAs I said above, this is ignoring the fact that Vince's plan was to have Lesnar beat the
ReplyDeleteStreak, Lesnar win the title, and Reigns beat Lesnar for the "streak
rub" and the title. That was the plan, and he's sticking to it.
Yes, actually, you can "split your audience" because instead of getting some conversation going in the Savage/Crush thread, or whatever, the majority of people are just coming here.
ReplyDeleteSure, he gets hits from the same people, but when you have several threads with more conversation it's better than one thread with conversation and a couple dead ones.
Maybe it's different for Scott, since this isn't his main revenue source, but if this was a site that relied on the traffic for revenue, it would be a bad strategy.
I'll answer any criticism in the comments of my reviews. That shit doesnt bother me, legitimate or trolling.
ReplyDeleteThat's unfortunate, too. WrestleMania used to be the culmination of months and even a year's worth of build-up, even the midcard and lower card matches. Now it's just matches thrown together literally a week or two before the show.
ReplyDeleteJust looking at this year's card, we have a battle royal, a multi-man ladder match, and possibly a multi-team Tag title match. It seems like it is more o an effort to throw everyone on the card, which is good for the talent I guess even though they have no idea how they'll get paid, but as a fan it stinks.
Well, yeah, PLUS he was from San Francisco...
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter. If you're on the Daily Thread, and I'm reading a WCW Nitro rant, Scott Keith has the same audience if we were both in the daily thread. I don't really know why this is even an issue. None of it matters.
ReplyDeleteI just spit up some All Bran laughing at the thought of this. That would be absolutely fucking hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYes i suppose you are right. No way was Vince ever going to have Daniel Bryan of all people get that rub.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Billy King before but never said anything. I was gonna ask Rod Thorn if he could come back, but then I remembered he's the guy who said Travis Outlaw...sure!
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's true of the posters. Maybe CFB, but I ignore his posts and have no idea of what the comment sections in his posts are like. But Bayless and Tommy and some of the others are really good about criticism.
ReplyDeletePlus there would be no obvious match for Randy Orton God Forbid.
ReplyDeleteI would say Dean Ambrose is playing the part of the Bushwackers.
ReplyDeleteDoes this also mean Vince had a year long plan to sacrifice Taker's streak to Brock, so Wyatt could fight Taker, in his next match, for 21-1?
ReplyDeleteWell, it seems to be an issue because I made an off-handed opinion into a comment and you seem to have taken exception. You tell me why you're making it an issue.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I said 99 percent. Tommy seemed to have issues with it for a while, but has gotten a little better.
ReplyDeleteYou could just scroll past it. You don't even have to move anything except your finger. It's not difficult.
ReplyDeleteI'm not talking about his character. Obviously Rude was a womanizer with the Cheryl Roberts feud. I'm just talking about his look. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Rude's pin-up was on the wall for more than a few gay guys in the late 80s.
ReplyDeleteI am the 1%
ReplyDeleteWhat's the point of just writing the same shit? Oh he said Big Bubber and "Sober" Bobby Heenan, stop, sides splitting.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Jets are supposedly going to bring back Antonio Cromartie.
ReplyDeleteI've said this before - would have been 100% worth it if he had gotten the title shot against Lesnar at the Rumble and have Reigns win the Rumble iwth a final four of RR, Cena, Rusev, and Rollins. Fans would have gotten the Bryan-Lesnar match we all wanted and Reigns would not have been put in the impossible position of trying to keep up or keep heat with DB.
ReplyDelete"They had literally NOTHING for him to do..."
ReplyDeleteI feel like this could be applied to about a dozen wrestlers. I mean, look at something as benign now as the New Day. Weeks of vignettes hyping the group, and then after a couple wins, they fade to the background. Now that they are a completely heatless group, they score an "upset" win over the tag champs (to get into the title hunt, of course).
Sheamus has been billed for a return for a month now and there's no indication of what he'll do when he gets back. Unless he enters the ARMBAR (battle royal) -- and wins -- it's probably going to fall under the same category as Bryan.
I think Scott was right: they should have held Bryan out longer if this was the best they had for him. Let him rest up and come back after Mania to pursue the title he never lost. At least then, if Reigns was flopping as champ, they could quickly turn him heel and do a David/Goliath deal with Bryan.
My alma mater, North Carolina State, has been using the wolf hand signal for decades. Fuck WWE.
ReplyDeleteThe gang is getting back together again. Too bad Sanchez re-upped with the Eagles.
ReplyDeleteAll the traffic starts on the main page. When you click on a page from the main page...doesn't matter which one....and two people are in the comments, it's the same as going to a page with a ton of people conversing. Because you all came from the same place. 10,000 hits are 10,000 hits no matter where you end up. If the Savage/Crush thread gets 5 hits, and the Daily Thread gets 100 hits, it's the same as 50 people in the Savage/Crush thread and 55 in the Daily. Doesn't matter. Same revenue.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be funny if WWE got into a legal battle with NC State.
ReplyDeleteVince was hoping it would damage Bryan though, I've never seen a more obvious act of sabotage, the Raw promo after Fastlane when he put over Reigns was one of my all time low moments as a fan.
ReplyDeleteOne of the few bad things DDP has brought to the world of wrestling, trademarked hand gestures.
ReplyDeleteI'm just saying, not sure why it bothers you that much when you don't have to read it. Just go to the next post. Maybe I'm talking crazy.
ReplyDeleteDespite how good NXT is, I think it is WWE's attempt to kill independent wrestling and forge a complete monopoly on the entire wrestling industry.
ReplyDeleteGiven his merchandise numbers, and the spike in network subs after he won the rumble, I'd suggest Reigns probably is bringing in some money.
ReplyDeleteAnd just a guess, but Bryan's situation could have been complicated by the delay in getting medical clearance for Sheamus, and that's what left him in limbo.
I'm not making it an issue. You continue to use this "split the audience" thing as though it's hurting Scott financially in some way, and it's not. If you mean it takes away from conversation, sure, I can see that. But you're wrong as far as hits go.
ReplyDeleteSo, on that E! show Fashion Police, Guliana Rancic made a joke about some girl with stupid looking dreads that was along the lines of "those dreads look like they smell like patchouli oil", to which Kathy Griffin said "or weed". Because you know, people with dreads are into that shit.
ReplyDeleteWell, because people are fucking pathetic and have ZERO problems thus they need to create some, decided that this was the worst thing ever. That clearly Guliana is a MASSIVE racist who is doing her best to resurrect Hitler. Everyone was outraged, and disgusted, and thus, she had to do my favorite thing in the whole fucking world, the apology.
Guliana said how sorry she was, and how she didn't realize how hurtful the comments were, and how this was a learning experience. Then of course we had people talking about how the apology wasn't enough, and how wrong they thought it was.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
Did Guliana really learn anything? What did she learn? That people are obnoxious assholes, who have to make themselves appear to be "heroes" by screaming to the mountain top that they don't like what she did? It's all people do today. They have their "end war", or "don't abuse the elderly", or "stop human trafficking" bumper stickers, so everyone behind them know they're heroes! Heroes who don't like children being sold into slavery.
The E! Channel forced her to do that bullshit, ridiculous apology. Does the E! channel really give a shit? Absolutely not. They just care about money, and sponsors, and advertisement, so they gotta make sure EVERYONE knows they're heroes! Otherwise you have bullshit media saying how the E! Channel supports unstoppable racists like Guliana who want nothing more than to hang black people and destroy the race.
Does Guliana really think she was out of line? Of course not. Does she regret it? Of course not. She just has to do this, because she works for a stupid, pathetic network that has no balls.
I can imagine all those people who were in the streets, literally fighting for equality, being mauled by dogs, being sprayed by firehoses and beat by TRUE racists, are probably thinking "Oh, thank the good Lord I only had to go through that and not have a woman make fun of my hair on a show where the premise is making fun of people."
Not that I have any strong feelings on the subject
Remember last year when the Shield turned face to help Bryan even the odds against the Authority and the fans were so excited they chanted "THIS IS AWESOME" and there was a huge buzz about the product?
ReplyDeleteMan, those were good times.
Vince is a strident Republican. It would be one of their idiotic, treasonous assholes that endorsed Roman, if it were anyone.
ReplyDeleteGood point on Bryan & Vinny today: So Goldust beats Stardust at Fast Lane. Pins him clean. Goldust is now off TV and Stardust is in a championship match at Mania..

I've been saying for ages that Sheamus is a dead cert to win the Andre Battle Royal this year.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'd be much happier if he enters, but so does someone new - a Kevin Owens, for example - and wins after eliminating him.
Remember when all it took for the fans to go absolutely mental was for the Shield and the Wyatts to stand in the same ring and stare at one another?
ReplyDeleteTalk about cutting the legs out from under folk. :(
You know, if you don't like what I'm saying, you can just scroll past it and not comment. :-D
ReplyDeleteThere's a pretty easy way to fix Bryan - and I think it's something he suggested at one point. Let him win the IC title and be predominately on Smackdown, defending the "workrate" title in kick-ass matches every week. Build him back up as a submission specialist and he'll be ready for a title vs. title main event by Summerslam. He gets rebuilt, gets to be the focal point of his own show, and the IC title gets a much needed rub (I'd even think about unifying the IC/US titles but as long as Rusev is hot it should probably stay with him).
ReplyDeleteSaid on one of the articles on here yesterday that I feel REALLY sorry for Dustin. He deserves much better.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more certain that he won't be coming back as a refreshed heel, but as a bland predictable face again.
ReplyDeleteAt this point the plan is to keep Taker off tv until his entrance = "HAHA We've got your money now it doesn't matter that he is coming out to the ring in a wheel chair!"
ReplyDeleteOf course it is.
ReplyDeleteSocial media really does bring out the worst in people,on both sides. I've become so much happier since getting off facebook, its unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI could, but I'd fear that you'd be spreading the ignorance to the masses, so what can ya do really? :)
ReplyDeleteIt heralded the beginning of the end of Roman Reigns as anything the fans would cheer too.
ReplyDeleteThat I doubt. Considering Taker's condition last year, Mania 30 might've been his last match for all Vince knew.
ReplyDeleteYep. Although I do think he'd be a perfect fit for the Authority, as he's better in the ring than Kane or Show, and at this point more of a 'threat' than either, but it would mean he doesn't have to talk much.
ReplyDeleteThe annoying thing to me was Goldust cut his emotional promo with Dusty, saying how he didn't care about winning, but was going to beat the shit outta Stardust if it meant he'd get Cody back. Then they have a standard wrestling match, Goldust wins off a fluke pin and that's the end of it. Wuh?
ReplyDeleteOH SNAP
ReplyDeleteWay to take it too seriously, bub.
ReplyDeleteI felt sorry so many people shat on their FL match, I thought it was perfectly fine. The whole angle would be a success if it was Goldust vs. heel Cody and not Stardust, that's the thing killing everything.
ReplyDeleteLike anybody pays attention to what I say here.
ReplyDeleteRe: the Kliq hand gesture. It makes Bullet Club look low rent when they do it, so whatever. New Japan should trademark BC's gun gesture in return.
ReplyDeleteThey were dying out there, it was killed off out of mercy
ReplyDeleteThe booking was idiotic, to be fair, which didn't help their cause. Dustin and Cody could definitely put on a far better match than they were allowed to, and the ending of the match was so lame-duck that it honestly came across almost like a botch.
ReplyDeleteWell at least WWE is focusing on what is important...trademaking a hand gesture of a group of guys from 18 years ago
ReplyDeleteThe biggest mistake they made was to have him interact with Roman Reigns as a way to get him over. They could have put him in any feud but they teased putting him in the main even slot only to do a bait and switch.
ReplyDeleteA feud with Rollins was RIGHT THERE with a built in story line: DBry treated like garbage and stripped of the title but Rollins get preferential treatment. It ties into HHH saying he was a B+ wrestler and wanted someone else as the face/future of the company. Hell, the MitB briefcase could have been on the line and it could be used as an excuse to get DBry that match against Lesnar people have been clamoring for. You could have even put Orton in the mix as a Triple Threat.
Yeah, that is true. I'm sure once they got out there the ref informed them what Vince wanted them to do and, like everything else, fucks ceased being given.
ReplyDeleteI think Goldust is going to be in the match as well. He tweeted something about it a couple days ago.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the WWE's legal history they will probably lose their rights to the Kliq in the process
ReplyDeleteShit, who ISN'T going to be in the match? As predicted, it's just a bloated spotfest over a comedic prop now.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Bill Clinton and I endorse this message...now where are all those Divas?"
ReplyDeletePeople hoping for a Money in the Bank style ladder match are going to be severely disappointed. There's no way this mess gets 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI think if they'd let Reigns go on a Magnum TA style win streak and kept Bryan off of TV to let him continue to heal and rehab, Reigns would have been fine. I think he's talented and has the right look to be a big star, but Creative/Vince has just pissed all over his character and made bad decision after bad decision.
ReplyDeleteWhether the problem is Vince, or the problem is Creative, at some point they HAVE to realize that what they are doing isn't working.
The MITB replacement, indeed. All fighting over a once important item that now is an afterthought.
ReplyDeleteCaliber quote?
ReplyDeletePopcorn vendor?
ReplyDeleteConsidering how Cesaro fared after Mania 30 last year, does anyone really think winning the Andre Battle Royal will give someone any kind of meaningful rub?
ReplyDeleteI think it could get more than that, but it's like a MITB match fighting for a stuffed animal at the top now. Kinda takes the bite out of everything, much like a Streakless Taker.
ReplyDeleteThis company seems actively against doing that at this point.
ReplyDeleteSo last night, I got a call back for a tryout session after a job interview with a paper last week. I get to go in Sunday night to work on their system. Hopefully this period of unemployment will be brief...
ReplyDeleteI hope they keep the tradition that who ever wins gets buried. then in a couple years it's a sprint to get out of the ring
