Chris Jericho Update
Jericho's contract with the WWE expired this past weekend and there is no idea when or if he is coming back.

Backstage News on Why AJ Lee's Tweets to Stephanie McMahon Will Not Be Used in Storyline
The word backstage is that Stephanie will not involve herself with AJ's feud because the Authority is involved in the main TV feuds and likely will not get involved with storylines that are so low on the card.

WWE Bringing in More Veterans to Work in NXT
The company is going to bring in more veteran workers that are still in shape and can go in the ring, like Rhyno and Brian Kendrick, and have them work exclusively in NXT to give guys experience.

Stephanie should be the one low on the card. Or not on the card at all.
ReplyDelete"The company is going to bring in more veteran workers that are still in shape and can go in the ring, like Rhyno and Brian Kendrick, and have them work exclusively in NXT to give guys experience."
ReplyDeleteI'd bet money this is why they're bringing in Joe.
When we hang out after the Fozzy gig tomorrow night I'll ask Jericho what the trip is and let y'all know
ReplyDeleteShawn Michaels putting white cream in Sunny's face...they could've just stuck a camera in the locker room for that.
ReplyDelete"likely will not get involved with storylines that are so low on the card."
ReplyDeleteHilarious.
"The word backstage is that Stephanie will not involve herself with AJ's feud because the Authority is involved in the main TV feuds and likely will not get involved with storylines that are so low on the card."
ReplyDeleteAh, never change Steph.
Translation: womens issues are beneath Stephanie McMahon
ReplyDeleteBut would you bet two hundred dollars?
ReplyDeleteThey're not in her league.
ReplyDeleteThe NXT article makes sense. Let these guys get an actual rub going over a veteran, rather than the so called rub of having someone like Taker or HHH go over them.
ReplyDeleteAny context to that one?
ReplyDelete"Stephanie will not involve herself with AJ's feud because the Authority is involved in the main TV feuds and likely will not get involved with storylines that are so low on the card." -- thus proving her point.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite the self-fulfilling prophecy.
ReplyDeleteThey laid out a birthday cake for Shawn Michaels, Sunny tried to shove it in Shawn's face, but then Ahmed Johnson cornered her and Shawn Michaels stuck it in her face instead.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about this last night, but with the Kendrick and Rhyno coming to NXT, they should hold some sort of NXT Rumble one day filled with nothing but unused main roster talents and former employees of the company for a shot at an NXT contract. It could be very fun, unpredictable, and a nice little comeback for some former guys.
ReplyDeleteWatching the last true WCW show, Clash 27.
ReplyDeleteHuh?
ReplyDeleteHogan gets booed on his debut, so great
ReplyDeleteDevils Advocate.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to get AJ over as a person rather than just CM Punk's wife is not to have her in a storyline involving HHH or HHH's wife.
They are only involved in main feuds. Lucky us.
ReplyDeleteThey boo him when he steps out of the limo. It's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to get anyone over is not to have them in a storyline involving HHH or Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteYeah, nobody would ever boo the face these days.
ReplyDeleteHogan with a Roman Reigns pop for his first WCW appearance.
ReplyDeleteSmart strategy.
ReplyDeleteBelee dat! Brother!
ReplyDeleteSo much for give divas a chance...
ReplyDelete"We need to raise the status of the Divas storylines."
ReplyDelete"Let's involve Stephanie with the Divas."
"No, McMahons don't do anything that low on the card."
WWE Logic 101.
AJ is plenty over as herself. Check her Twitter sometime. People just chant CM Punk at her because they're fucking dorks who are looking to get themselves "over" and/or "stick it" to the WWE.
ReplyDeleteThe Steph newz bit in particular seems like some trolling, brother.
ReplyDeleteOr they're bored.
ReplyDeleteThis was posted a week or so ago:
ReplyDeletehttp://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wwe.com%2Fshows%2Fwwenxt%2F8-superstars-we-want-to-see-reemerge-in-nxt&h=gAQHhKuOy&enc=AZPLJFv8-qMnxCNaHPNWzo7rLR9BpGSH-GE00SZmQJXqqJqx2nUY38-4_MeCVkcaqr0vBAn_AU7WEgXIlbHjYvvW&s=1
Why did you assume Vince was telling the truth when he said he was going to #GiveDivasAChance?
ReplyDeleteThat, too.
ReplyDeleteWell, the McMahons are master trolls.
ReplyDeleteHow is Sid doing these days? I bet he could show those guys in nXt how to cut promos.
ReplyDeleteHe did #GiveDivasAChance but they all said "no I don't want to fuck a geriatric" and he got all pissed off.
ReplyDeleteI didn't. I know he doesn't view the Divas as nothing more than a piss break before the real matches on the card.
ReplyDeleteFarooq's character is a hard-nosed street fighter...yet his gimmick is the "Gladiator" and he wears a tinfoil hat. Okay then.
ReplyDeleteIt's less that going over Rhyno gives them a rub and more that working with a veteran allows them to learn more out of their time in the ring than working with another redass rookie would.
ReplyDeleteThe mid 90's was a crazy time.
ReplyDeleteAre you having flashbacks?
ReplyDeleteThe best way to get me to not throw garbage at the TV is that very same thing!
ReplyDeleteRepackaging him with the Nation was one of the smarter things they did in 1996.
ReplyDeleteThis. It cost Vince nothing to have whoever runs his Twitter pay the hashtag lip service in one tweet. It means nothing, too.
ReplyDeleteHer return on Raw had fans chanting CM Punk at her, despite him having nothing to do with her current storyline.
ReplyDeleteFor a group of fans, AJ means nothing by herself she is just a conduit for CM Punk fandom.
I still eagerly await the day Bob Holly makes his NXT debut and his gimmick consist of nothing but injuring the roster.
ReplyDeleteI still eagerly await the day Bob Holly makes his NXT debut and his gimmick consist of nothing but injuring the roster
ReplyDeleteI hope AJ gets demoted to NXT so I can get my dream AJ/Charlotte match.
ReplyDeleteIt was just so rare back then, especially with Hogan debuting. Bischoff did not understand rasslin'. The worst thing Verne ever did was give Bischoff a foot in the door.
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered the PTB Nation rebooking of old Wrestlemanias. The vast majority of early Wrestlemanias can't really be rebooked without huge fantasy booking, however WM8 is the exception as the entire show seemed to ignore the storylines running up to the show.
ReplyDeleteSo here's my (in no way requested) preferred version of the show
WWF Title Match
Hulk Hogan Vs Ric Flair (c)
-The title match everyone wants.
Leather Strap Match
Randy Savage vs Jake Roberts
-The big blowoff brawl and with the Strap match, Jake Roberts can't escape.
Tag Title Match
Bret Hart & British Bulldog Vs Money inc (c)
Two of the best tag team competitors team up to show Dibiase, not everyone can be bought.
Intercontinental Title Match
Shawn Michaels vs Roddy Piper (c)
-The Heartbreak Kids single push begins in earnest with a classic against a legend
The Undertaker Vs Papa Shango
-Taker kicks off the streak by facing off against a fellow supernatural entity
Nightstick Match
The Big Boss Man vs Repo Man
- After Repo man's crime wave goes to far after he tries to repo the Boss Man's nightstick.
Sid Vs Virgil
- 2 Minute squash to put over Sid
10 Man Tag Team Match
Tatanka, Sgt Slaughter, Jim Duggan & The Natural Disasters vs The Mountie, The Nasty Boys, Berzerker & Skinner
- Get everyone on the card match
Owen Hart vs Rick Martel
- Undercard workrate match
There couldn't possibly be some mechanism that allows me to watch 1996 Raws and live post my thoughts about it. Crazy talk.
ReplyDeleteApparently Rock's ex-wife has gotten into his "protein drinks"
ReplyDeletehttp://www.muscleandfitness.com/sites/muscleandfitness.com/files/styles/full_node_image_1090x614/public/media/dany-garcia-joins-AMI_1.jpg?itok=rZ_wBY8w
Getting Hogan over in Flair country (Charleston, SC for this show) was impossible. His heel turn made all the sense in the world for WCW fans.
ReplyDeleteDid you actually read what you replied to?
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, why would #1 heel Big Steph ever sully herself with women's wrestlers, who could actually *do something* when she runs her mouth? That would be a heel getting an ass kicking!
ReplyDeleteTell him I said hi!
ReplyDeleteIt's not that they're beneath her, it's just that they realize that they would be better served by an actual woman being involved, as opposed to Stephanie
ReplyDeleteSteph does have to keep them in line occasionally, though. Stand tall over them for no reason and completely belittle their character. Like Lana learned a few months ago. How dare you get over.
ReplyDeleteI posted mine a few days ago. I'd do a Shawn/Marty blowoff, and have the New Foundation take on Money Inc (which was actually advertised in WWF magazine).
ReplyDeleteAnd leave Bret/Piper.
Ask him if Lenny Lane ever returned his Loverboy tape.
ReplyDeleteWellllllllllllllllllllllll....it's the Big Stephhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteGetting dumped can take its toll.
ReplyDelete...........
ReplyDeleteHaven't you canceled yours yet?
ReplyDeleteFlair vs Hogan
ReplyDeleteSavage vs Roberts
Sid vs Taker
Piper vs Bret
Shawn vs Marty
LOD vs Money Inc
I wonder if Virgil is setting up his "Wrestling Superstar" table outside of full sail in hopes that they'll give him one of the veteran of the week matches
ReplyDeleteYes and my argument remains the same, no matter how you try and dress it, she is still getting CM Punk chants because for a group of fans, she is not over as herself just as a proxy for the CM Love.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a good thing nor is it something that should be encouraged. Having AJ in a storyline with Steph where she will play the antiauthority rebel will only increase the CM Punk chants.
Yet they're surprised nobody gives a shit about Rusev - Cena. I never got the McMahon family's aversion to heat.
ReplyDeleteOr former #1 contender to the WCW World title Al Green.
ReplyDeleteWell thank goodness we aren't using one of the 12 authority figures to elevate someone up the card.
ReplyDeleteNobody except HHH, Vince, Stephanie, and whoever HHH's best friend at the time is are allowed to get heat. Since none of them are over, the solution is to kill off the heat of anyone who is genuinely over.
ReplyDeleteWith all the hormones coursing through her I'll bet she hasn't had "women's issues" in awhile.
ReplyDeleteBrandon Marshall to the Jets? Who's Jay Cutler going to throw the ball to? Oh, yeah, Canadians. hehe
ReplyDeleteFitting that the last true WCW show ends with a classic Sting/Flair match.
ReplyDeleteNo love for the Hogan-infused WCW from 1994-2000, eh?
ReplyDeleteHe still has Alshon Jeffery. I'm worried about Marshall catching passes from Geno. Unless the Jets plan to draft Mariota or another QB.
ReplyDeleteI'm not looking forward to the Hogan era. Summer 96 can't get here fast enough.
ReplyDeleteThat's what Kane and Big Show are for.
ReplyDeleteJust watched this week's NXT. During the Charlotte/Sasha Banks match, I came to the realization that Charlotte is Jerry Seinfeld's "two face" girlfriend. Sometimes she looks gorgeous and sometimes she looks like "Bad lighting on the porch."
ReplyDeleteI like a lot about post 94 WCW but it is a totally different promotion.
ReplyDeleteAnd even then, they're feuding with each other.
ReplyDeleteThat's IF the Bears want to keep Cutler. I smell a Montreal Alouettes jersey in Cutler's future.
ReplyDeleteSo anyone else see the NXT taping spoilers..more specifically they very strange match up that did not go over well?
ReplyDeleteEh, I'm okay with it. Honestly, we had that horrible Stephanie/Bella crap last year and a repeat isn't needed.
ReplyDeleteOnly horrible because Stephanie had to go over.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely concur. The wrestling that occurred in WCW was what made it different than the WWF. Once Hogan arrived sports-entertainment replaced wrestling for the most part.
ReplyDeleteI'm always ok with less authority but it's the reason behind it
ReplyDeleteIt's like on Cornette's first RF shoot. He talks about him, Eaton and Condrey going up to New York to talk to Vince. All Vince wanted to talk about was the dolls they could make and sell of the Midnights. When Condrey asked about blood and Vince said they didn't do that, Condrey wondered how they got anything over. Then Vince went back to talking about the dolls again.
ReplyDeleteGreg Gagne wishes he'd had Big Steph's push
ReplyDeleteI saw the spoilers of the rest of the taping, but nothing involving crowd reactions.
ReplyDeleteThat's fine, I don't watch CFL anyways.
ReplyDeletePaige & AJ vs Team Stooge 2015 at Wrestlemania. Book it.
ReplyDeleteNo spoilers!
ReplyDeleteWWE: "Hey everyone, here's a match you'll like!'
ReplyDeleteCrowd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n5E7feJHw0
I think a face turn would have gotten him over. He hasn't done that in the last 60 seconds.
ReplyDeleteWait are you talking about the Ryback/Big Show match from the house show or the tapings?
ReplyDeletethats why i was vague for in case someone cared
ReplyDeleteAlright, I guess all the people buying AJ merch and making AJ signs are doing it ironically to support CM Punk, too. Believe what you want, no matter the reality.
ReplyDeleteGAB '95 was a decent show since Hogan wasn't involved.
ReplyDeleteI could see that, Noble has experience in having matches with a woman.
ReplyDeleteDarth Vader is Luke's father.
ReplyDeleteI see what you're saying. It's definitely something I can believe them thinking, but in this case I'm grateful for it.
ReplyDeleteDammit!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else STILL playing WWE Supercards? Or has the magic worn off for you?
ReplyDeleteyes that match ..evidently they did tape the show for the network.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read about it i didn't realize it was the on the road show. now it makes more sense. I thought they just had those two show up at NXT and had a match which was crapped on pretty harshly.
So does Matt Hardy. He's 0-2 against them. Lita broke his heart and Reby broke his face.
ReplyDeleteBruce Willis was dead the whole time.....for the last two Die Hards
ReplyDeleteTalking about the house show yesterday? That wasn't for tv tapings and I wasn't there, was at the last set of tv tapings and don't remember any strange match ups that didn't go over well.
ReplyDeleteThe shine of Bruce Willis wore off for me after Armageddon.
ReplyDeleteHere's a spoiler: REIGNS WINS.
ReplyDeleteEveryone made it sound fun, and I was going to. But then, I got drunk and forgot.
ReplyDeleteYes sorry it was the house show ..didn't realize it at the time just saw a blurb. Evidently they did tape it for the network though.
ReplyDeleteHell, I'm casing them out in Ohio this weekend 1st! I'm hoping if I catch a ride with someone back, everyone will just assume I'm supposed to be there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my attention span is way too short to game anymore. I had Angry Birds Star Wars on my phone for about a week. Got bored and uninstalled it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he ever said that. He just said it's funny that Hogan gets boo'd.
ReplyDeleteHe probably threw a hissy fit when Roman Reigns got booed though.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why Reby Sky never signed by TNA and teamed with Velvet.
ReplyDeletePlease point out any time that I claimed every fan sees AJ as just a proxy for Punk?
ReplyDeleteI am of the opinion that a group of fans chant CM Punk at her and continue to do so even 14 months after Punk walked away from WWE. This is not a positive for AJ as a character or her career.
Must have read that same Chris Jericho update 1004 times over the years
ReplyDeleteI couldn't use it for a month when my phone broke and I kind of got out of it. I'm guessing my ultra rare and epic stuff is worthless now and they've rolled out new tiers.
ReplyDeleteWho did?
ReplyDeleteAs a Jets fan, I am ecstatic that they got Brandon Marshall. I am still pondering why the Bears traded him though...
ReplyDeleteYes, there are Legendary and Survivor cards now. Also, they have the new FUSION CHAMBER where you can be Frankenstein and create cards based upon card level.
ReplyDeleteHey PAL, wanna make $100? Job to this kid that's greener than turtle shit, HAHA! DAMN IT!"
ReplyDeletehe can fly the Millennium Falcon, but he can't fly a plane over a golf course?
ReplyDeletePerhaps the Jets will get Jay Cutler too. He's persona non grata in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteToo much of a headache in the locker room, plus an off season production wise last year? What did the Bears get in exchange, draft picks?
ReplyDeleteArm-bar!
ReplyDeleteShelton would be a ton of fun in NXT. I have no idea why he wasn't brought in as an MITB all star. He's probably making bank in Japan and would laugh at the NXT money though.
ReplyDeleteExcellent observation about me!
ReplyDeleteNo idea.
ReplyDeleteShelton was down in NXT for a bit when his tag partner Slater was injured.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the card look pretty awesome, but i wonder who thought that Big Show and Ryback were the right guy to bring to an NXT House Show
ReplyDeleteYea I would be interested in what kind of money these guys make because someone like him would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe magic is gone for me.
ReplyDeleteIs Marc Mero black?
ReplyDeleteYou've obviously never seen how huge Big Show is in person.
ReplyDeleteHere's your answer: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/03/06/bernstein-bears-brandon-marshall-likely-past-point-of-no-return/
ReplyDeleteAs a Bears fan, I hate to see him go, but I understand why.
Big Show got "Please Retire" chants, but he took a mic and heel it up by saying he got a 10 years contract. Then the audience start chanting "10 more years". Cesaro also got a duelling chant "Push Cesaro" / "He's too Swiss"
ReplyDeleteNo, are you?
ReplyDeleteVince, duh. No way those NXT midgets draw on their own!
ReplyDeleteHe's a white guy dipped in caramel.
ReplyDeleteJust pretty.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the Bash/Bash combo from 96 had a lot of that old WCW magic. Up until the Hogan thing at the end.
ReplyDeleteI hope they will show some of it, I really want to see the Cesaro/Neville main event
ReplyDeleteMakes sense. He's better than he was in Miami or Denver, because he was able to address his condition and take the proper meds for it. But he still has his moments of it being about him and not the team.
ReplyDeleteClose enough, pal!
ReplyDeleteMy NXT vet wish list would be:
ReplyDelete-Shelton Benjamin
-Christopher Daniels
-Renee Dupree
-Rico Constantino (if he's not way too old by now)
-Carlito (with reservations about his work ethic - he "got" a lot of the charisma stuff some of the NXT guys are missing but the physicality of his work was for shit)
McMahon wanted to put his imprint on NXT.
ReplyDeleteYou so eager that you wrote it twice
ReplyDeleteMarc Mero is the human equivalent of that dress from last Friday.
ReplyDeleteI am!
ReplyDeleteNATION...OF DOMINATION...
WE ARE THE NATION!
NATION...OF DOMINATION...
When Vince wrestled he'd wear black jeans and (thankfully, after his first match), and tank top. It's visually comical that Triple H and Stephanie, the CEO/COO/whatever of the company come out dressed as a barbarian and a bat, respectively, when they compete.
ReplyDeletemilitant nerd
ReplyDeleteIs Johnny B. Badd gay?
ReplyDeleteI sure am, SD Jones.
ReplyDeleteOkay, get out...you have proven yourself too clever for this blog.
ReplyDeleteShould have send Reigns pinning the whole roster with Spears and Superman Punches
ReplyDeleteWhatever you do, don't refer to him as Rocky King.
ReplyDeleteLittle Richard Marley is OK, though
ReplyDeleteBut he had one of the greatest afros in wrestling.
ReplyDeleteThat Chris Jericho and his hiatuses...when will he show the drive to reach for the brass ring?
ReplyDeleteI watched an ep of NXT last night from Jan '13.
ReplyDeleteSmilin' Sasha Banks, babyface
I loved Carlito's involvement in his father's induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. He got a lot of cheers too.
ReplyDeleteIn my head Charlotte is two feet taller than AJ.
ReplyDeleteI just remembered the existence of Angry Birds Star Wars last night. It's apparently no longer available on FB, and the copy I downloaded was saved on two computers ago. Harumpf.
ReplyDeleteProbably when he faces 25-time World Champion John Cena. :(
ReplyDeleteSamy also cut an awesome babyface promo : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agbn9if7OVY
ReplyDeleteYeah, just read it, that was great.
ReplyDeleteSyracuse Jim Boeheim has been suspended 9 games for "various violations of 8 years"
ReplyDeleteWatching Marc Mero in WWF, I'm reminded of the early days on rsp-w when he was a member, and I emailed with him and he sent me an autographed WCW promotional picture. This was right after he left/was fired by WCW and before he signed with the WWF.
ReplyDeleteAlso lost 12 scholarships over 4 years. 3 per year.
ReplyDeleteSunny is no stranger to having white stuff on her face.
ReplyDeleteLooking through the list of guys they want back in NXT (and that was really weird, btw), I think it's a crying shame the former Tensei isn't called Mat Albert (it's his real first name, and... yeah).
ReplyDeleteWas Marc Mero a good worker? I've been watching a lot of his stuff from 96 and he seemed like he was on a hot streak as a worker.
ReplyDeleteThat still feels light. Fuck Syracuse
ReplyDeleteI got burned out.
ReplyDelete... you forgot the cheap poontang part.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching Syracuse beat Rutgers and St. John's for about 12 straight years, then having St. John's finally whoop them this year, the hate lessened a little. It still couldn't happen to a nicer team.
ReplyDeleteWell then, not talking about the tweets is perfect. That's one less segment Steph will be in a week.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need more!
http://deadspin.com/the-steelers-really-really-hope-troy-polamalu-retires-1689838166
ReplyDeleteWHO WANTS THE HAIR?
(Also: What could WWE do with him?)
Some folks liked him but I never saw it. I was with Foley in that he got shot up the card way more than a guy like him deserved.
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/4MSxZma.jpg
ReplyDeleteAfter almost 2 years I'm finally getting sick of Simpsons: Tapped Out. I play once or twice a week now, compared to 3-4 times a day I would play last year.
ReplyDeleteWho on Earth thought she was a babyface?
ReplyDeleteI thought Mero was fine in his later WCW days
ReplyDeleteAs a Steelers fan, this hurts.
ReplyDeleteIs Mick Foley a glorified stuntman?
ReplyDeleteShe was so bland at the time
ReplyDeleteWow! Syracuse's last game is tomorrow against NC State. Go Wolfpack!
ReplyDeleteNo. Stuntmen have insurance.
ReplyDeleteMike Rotunda and Michael Cole are from Syracuse. That's all you need to know.
ReplyDeleteHe was terrible last year. An actual dollars to doughnuts negative player. I would take the hair and not the player. And WWE could use him for the Head & Shoulders sponsorship. They're probably still pissed at losing Slim Jim with Randy Savage.
ReplyDeleteCap hit, mostly. Marshall's still a very unique talent with his size and strength.
ReplyDeleteBURN IT DOWN!
ReplyDeleteSpanky is considered a veteran? Whatever.
ReplyDeleteReggie Wayne cut from the Colts too. Reggie was great, but like Polamalu his time is done.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Stephanie McMahon continues to support #GiveDivasaChance.
ReplyDeleteMero, pre-knee injury, was really good. He had great chemistry with DDP and SCSA. He used to perform a shooting star press called "the Wild Thing" in his early WWF days.
ReplyDelete
