I'm baffled as to why WWE doesn't use Lesnar in a more balanced and spread-out manner. You have the guy for just thirty appearances on a several-million-dollar contract, so why not have him work more (if not all) PPVs and use the remaining dates on to hype his matches throughout the year. Right now, he comes in, stands there, does a match, disappears for five months, then comes in again, stands there, match, disappears for five months, repeat.
At the very least, do more than three matches, even if they're squashes. It would still be a better use of his services. He's getting paid to literally stand there, while on other episodes they get really crazy and have him out for thirty seconds to throw a chair.
I know the guy's shrewd with his business, but I doubt he'd be too troubled to leave the woods two or three days out of the month.
I don't blame the guy at all, though. If a company wants to pay me several thousands of dollars just to get on a jet, go to an arena to stand around and let someone talk about how great I am, I'm gonna continue letting the company be that fcking stupid.

I think that having him work PPVs would just devalue Brock and wouldn't help the PPV. Brock's value is better off the way he is, but the problem is finding opponents that are worth putting in the ring with him to justify the dates.
Honestly for as bad as this has been booked and as sketchy the motivations are I'm all for HHH winning. Hunter will still be around in future years to put people who don't get senior discounts over. I understand what Scott is saying but since there has been zero till monday and Sting hasn't been linked at all with the guys he is suppose to be fighting for I'd rather the guy who will still be around a couple weeks after Mania to win.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, he's the one guy The Authority can't bully or intimidate.
ReplyDeleteWhich makes Triple H look bad.
AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT.
The only reason I think HHH wins is because some will look at it as a WCW guy beating a WWE guy.
ReplyDeleteSo here's my question -- if Brock does re-sign with WWE, who is there left for him to face?
ReplyDeleteObviously Bryan vs. Lesnar is on most people's list, and I'd like to see Lesnar vs. Batista if Big Dave is interested. Lesnar vs. Orton I'm sure would happen at some point, but who else?
Note: Let's keep this realistic in terms of WWE's braintrust, so don't say Lesnar vs. Cesaro.
They way they use him is fantastic. If he fights at every ppv, or squashes geeks on Raw he's no longer a huge deal.
ReplyDeleteYou just can't put the belt on him. It was a nice idea, but it didn't really work.
I hope he hits a Pedigree and forces Sting to wait a good 90 seconds before pinning him.
ReplyDeleteJust to watch this get heated up
Yes said this weeks ago. The plain might have been for Sting to come in and win and all that but I won't be surprised at some point before they walk out to the ring Vince goes.....you know what....screw WCW...this is probably my last chance to job them..one more time!
ReplyDeleteTriple H is bulletproof in his spot. Regardless of what we may think of him, the company presents him as an equal of Austin, Rock, Hogan, Michaels, Undertaker, and all the other big stars.
ReplyDeleteThe loss to Bryan didn't hurt him at all. A loss to Sting wouldn't matter either.
One thing to keep in mind too is from what we've heard Vince has always had immense respect for Sting. This isn't like 2001 when WWF had an influx of geeks from WCW and Vince decided to bury 97% of them for shits and giggles.
ReplyDeleteHe respects Sting and WCW is long dead -- in fact, Vince has made a LOT of money off of WCW in the last 14 years, far more than he actually paid for it. I doubt he has the desire to bury WCW anymore like he did during the Invasion.
If only there were some way for the WWE to use fake fights as a way to make another competitor look like a tough guy who might be able to defeat Brock, say by having said competitor win lots of these fake fights.
ReplyDeleteNah.
...oh I started clicking reply before before reading the last sentence......If you limit the discussion to WWE not being able to build stars I guess Bryan, Rusev, Orton and possibly Rollins.
ReplyDeleteNot having access to TNA, in all seriousness, how good have Sting's matches been the last few years? Are we looking at a Starrcade'97 repeat where Sting looked like he hadn't touched a weight set in months?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the value of having him stand there doing nothing while Heyman cuts promos?
ReplyDeleteHHH losing will not devalue him at all. Like any good heel, he'll either misremember what happens or blame any/everything else for the loss. I doubt anyone is concerned its a WCW over a WWE, for at the end of the day, HHH is still running the place (eventually.)
ReplyDeleteWorked for Taz.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering how HHH's entrance is gonna top last years....Oh yeah I am also totally intrigued by this match and want HHH to win.
ReplyDeleteAdd 20 years
ReplyDeleteWell yeah, I mean I could name a bunch of guys I'd like to see Lesnar fight (like Cesaro), but why bother suggesting guys that WWE would never put toe-to-toe with Lesnar in the first place?
ReplyDeleteThere should be a specific provision in Brock's contract that one of his appearances per year should be to storm to the ring and haul furniture at The Miz.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the way Brock has been booked. Brock come in. Brock smash. Brock leave.
ReplyDeleteFor the long-term, yeah. HHH will be around, Sting probably won't be.
ReplyDeleteTrips last WM win was against Brock, and you could call it somewhat of a fluke (since he lost the other two matches iirc). He lost to UT twice, Bryan in the curtain-jerker, and lost more after Evolution reformed.
At some point he's gonna need to bust out the sledgehammer and bury some midcard talent to retain his credibility.
They're......not great. He's had some OK matches with AJ, but that was years ago. Although if you're expecting a **** match from someone his age, then blah.
ReplyDeleteThe problems I had with Brock is that he has had only 1 match since September. He is the champ and the champ should defend the title more times than he has.
ReplyDeleteHe also has made any new stars since coming back. He lost to Cena and HHH. He won the feuds against Cena, HHH, Show and Punk, and won Taker's streak. Rollins put on a good show against him but still took the pin.
won't effect anything if he loses. Actually honestly, it really doesn't matter or wins or loses because this is likely Sting's only match and HHH will just go back to his Authority role.
ReplyDeleteMatch is utterly meaningless. Which doesn't mean it is isn't interesting, it will be fun to see Sting. But who wins or loses has zero impact.
LOL @ the idea that HHH can be "devalued" at this point.
ReplyDeleteSo Jacob's doesn't wrestle anymore? Used to love watching him at local shows.
ReplyDeleteI always thought that an Ambrose feud would have been awesome. He could have done the crazy things that would confuse Lesnar who had to resort to different tactics to win the match.
ReplyDeleteGuess not. Unless he does some stuff for NXT
ReplyDeleteAfter "Survivor Series", Ziggler should have been his next opponent.
ReplyDeleteHe wrestled in Chikara for most of last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy he's moving on up though.
I don't mind that he hasn't wrestled more. I don't mind that he hasn't been used more.
ReplyDeleteMy issue is that of all the interesting things they could have done with "part-timer holds world title hostage," they went with "forget he and the title exist for months on end."
I liked his team with Tyler Black in Wrestling Society X, Doin' It For Her.
ReplyDeleteI would hope he would get some in front of the camera work. to much talent and charisma to not be used in some way..I would think.
ReplyDeleteApparently not.
ReplyDeleteBut hey, dude had a long and storied Indy career, took a trip down a really bad road and nearly died as I recall, got his shit together and now works for the #1 promotion in North America. Not bad.
He's a smart guy, I think he'll rock in the role.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised more hasn't been made about the Jimmy Jacobs news. THEY'RE HIRING A WRESTLER TO WRITE WRESTLING! Only took how many years to do that?
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Adam Pearce, is he working for WWE as well?
ReplyDeleteAnd someone figured the dude who's worked with certain guys would be better suited to writing for those guys!
ReplyDeleteMADNESS!
certainly. I just have some hope he will get some work in front of the camera too.
ReplyDeleteYea it;s great news and to me he always seemed like a guy with great ideas.
ReplyDeleteYeah, him losing at WM doesn't devalue him. Whether he actually WILL is another thing entirely, but no one will say he's the Brooklyn Brawler because he lost a few WM matches.
ReplyDelete2015 Sting = 1996 Roddy Piper?
ReplyDeleteChris Jericho told fans to shut up about Roman Reigns not being ready.
ReplyDeleteIt is kind of funny it took WWE about a decade to go..you know the hardcore fans seem to love this ROH thing...and all the best talent seems to end up coming from there....maybe we should really focus on pulling their best talent and creative people...
ReplyDeleteAnd Reigns told fans to shut the hell up when he's talking.
ReplyDeleteGotta love being a WWE fan.
I haven't been watching, have they ever explained why Sting even showed up to a promotion that he has no history in to attack a guy that he has no history with?
ReplyDeleteIs it because he's a vigilante?
I still think Chris Jericho isn't ready to get a pin on HHH.
ReplyDeletePrediction ... 2015 Sting = 2002 Hogan.
ReplyDeleteI think Sting wins, Rollins cashes in MITB at WM and wins the title - Sting beat Rollins at Fastlane to win the world title and drops it a month later to whoever - maybe Rollins again, Bray Wyatt, whoever.
Jericho can shut the hell up. He's a corporate stooge now.
ReplyDeleteSoon all fans will be replaced by plants.
ReplyDeleteSting is losing to the Rock at Wrestlemania? Could be a fun match
ReplyDeleteYou and I might be the biggest Jericho fans on the BoD but I'm really getting tired of this shit as well
ReplyDeleteI dunno...it seems like they've been pulling RoH people for awhile. They signed Punk, Bryan, Cabana, Noble, Cesaro and Hero before this big recruiting surge.
ReplyDeleteSomething happened with Jericho over the last few months. He used to be pretty outspoken on his podcast, now I don't even download it because of the WWE fanboying..
ReplyDeletefair enough.
ReplyDeletethere is no reason whatsoever for Triple H to win this match.
ReplyDeleteYes, he is a trainer/agent in NXT
ReplyDeleteCena will throw his t-shirt to the fern in the 3rd row
ReplyDeleteThreadjack:
ReplyDeleteRonda will defend her title at Rio de Janeiro in UFC 190, her next victim will be Bethe Correia.
Isn't he a persona non grata in NWA?
ReplyDeleteWhat bugs me is that these ROH and other top indie guys are the most polished performers they get on the roster due to traveling all around the planet and wrestling different styles. But it seems like they have a hard time getting acceptance (which could be the wrestlers' attitude themselves as they may have a "I already know everything" attitude).
ReplyDeleteAnd he was in RoH in 2003 when he was 19 so that's a lot of mileage on him already.
ReplyDeleteYour future number one babyface everyone! Seriously rehashing the Corporate Rock turn is right there!
ReplyDeleteWrestlemania will be a Between Two Ferns episode.
ReplyDeleteSomething happenned there so he probably is and he had a shoot come out last year that probably sheds some light on that too
ReplyDeleteJericho is always going to get in trouble while having this podcast and being so vocal because while he loves being a internet fan fave deep down he seems to in his heart lump all of the fanbase in as marks and your options are not as important because you aren't in the business. I imagine it comes from being on the tail end of that generation when he was getting into the business.
ReplyDeleteThose damn millenials.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I hope with demott out and maybe HHH being a little more hands on their can be more of a balance between..making someone more "WWE" but also realize..well...we brought you in because you are awesome so lets respect that.
ReplyDeleteHe wouldn't be the only wrestler to do that.
ReplyDeleteNot really. Just as it was never explained why somebody who is a vigilante has his own music/titantron/lighting effects, a bunch of merchandise available for purchase, or backstage access where people don't notice some big guy in face paint walking around.
ReplyDeleteRollins as well, and Ambrose did take part in the CZW/ROH wars.
ReplyDeleteThey should start doing 3 way dances or fatal 4 way matches in UFC. It needs to be much more like WWE.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason for HHH to ever win a match is to not make every other match appear to be a foregone conclusion. That being said, this is definitely not the time to put him over.
ReplyDeleteBooker T was supposed to show that black people are good people to, so we'll see.
ReplyDeleteItami was having problems adapting to WWE style and was nervous, HHH said be the guy I hired in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he'll be losing plenty of sleep over that!
ReplyDeleteOpenweight fights
ReplyDeleteLet Ronda challenge Dillashaw.
It is kind of weird timing as he is in the middle of a storyline in ROH right now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, oddly enough, I don't really need to see him turn into Jericho at this point. Though I highly doubt HHH-Fandango is going to be the blood feud of the summer.
ReplyDeleteDecade destruction?
ReplyDeleteAnd have cage matches like WWE!....oh, wait.
ReplyDeleteJon Jones vs Brock Lesnar
ReplyDeleteIn Jericho’s first book I’m sure he wrote
ReplyDeletethat he was “smartened up” to the business right before his first match. It’s
possible he thinks we’re all as dumb as he was before he started wrestling.
The vague explanation is that he couldn't save WCW from greed and corruption and he won't allow it to kill WWE. If only he was as against stupidity and incompetence he could have saved TNA.
ReplyDeleteRonda wouldn't last a minute with any male UFC fighter at any weight class.
ReplyDeletecertainly. I'm not really crapping on him here just stating what I have seen. I still over all find him to be an entertaining guy.
ReplyDeleteNo offense to the emailer, but this is silly. Triple H has a lifetime of credibility. He can afford to be on the wrong end of a lopsided feud.
ReplyDeleteMaybe with Punk
ReplyDeleteIt's always kind of funny how people squawk about that match but no one ever seems to care that HHH beat booker in 7 minutes at Summer Slam after not wrestling for, what was it 8 months or so?
ReplyDeleteThis is where you finally debut Darewolf.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm up to Wrestlemania 26 in my marathon. Is it me or does Matt Striker's idiotic commentary practically ruin the show?
ReplyDelete*REAL* UFC fighter.
ReplyDeleteRonda could totally do a gauntlet match at least
ReplyDeleteWrestleMania was a more high profile match.
ReplyDeleteI think he was pretty good from 06 until 08/09. His more recent ones were pretty brutal but as his age and Magnus/Bubba Dudley's skill that's going to happen.
ReplyDeleteHe is under a contract!
ReplyDeleteTrue...liked the tiki torch look though.
ReplyDeletePunk wins be greco roman pussy lock.
ReplyDeleteThe Conqueror wins.
ReplyDeleteHe just had a pretty sweet match with Austin Aries about 2 years ago? Aries totally carried him of course, but I think HHH is capable of that as well? Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteIt's really bad; I stopped listening a while back as well. I could even tolerate the plugs for Fozzy but if he doesn't want to listen to the opinions of the fans that loved him in the first place, to hell with him
ReplyDeleteWhat an odd thing for him to take a stand on.
ReplyDeleteAnd given his history of riding promotions into the ground, if I'm a WWE shareholder I'm not getting a lot of sleep with Sting around to uh, help.
Nailed it.
ReplyDeleteYou can't threadjack a daily thread yo.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's bound to happen.
ReplyDeleteBooker was a heel and Triple H was returning from injury, so in that case t made sense - like Booker winning at WM would have made sense.
ReplyDeleteCan't blame him. He was markin' out bro.
ReplyDeleteSimmons take on Striker from that show was pretty great.
ReplyDeleteApples and oranges. And that's part of the reason Booker T quit, so he wasn't cool with Summerslam either
ReplyDeleteI like how ReDragon comes out MMA fighters sometimes.
ReplyDeletegood. Honestly beyond all the other problems the WWE has..I think most of us would agree it's probably time to at least tweak WWE style and let some more variety in.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind Adam Pearce's booking in RoH. Would have been nice if he ended up back there as a commentator like they originally had planned, but couldn't end up doing because of HR reasons (at least according to Cornette)
ReplyDeleteThat's not till next year.
ReplyDeleteIt's one thing for owners, general managers, coaches and players of sports franchises to tell their fans to shut up (it's justified in 95 percent of cases). It's another thing entirely for someone like Jericho to say it. We have seven weeks of subpar ratings telling us people aren't interested in Roman Reigns or anything else going on.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I still think Sting is eating a Pedigree
ReplyDeleteI don't think HHH is capable of carrying him to the level Aries did. When he's in there with a good worker (Bryan) he can roll. If the worker isn't that great or has to wrestle a particular style, the results vary but usually aren't that great.
ReplyDeleteI think it'll be passable, maybe even hit ***, but I'm not expecting much aside from Sting counting lights.
Hey, he REALLY wanted that DVD release.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he gave the title to Jerry Lynn?
ReplyDeleteSure there is! WCW guy beating a WWE guy.
ReplyDeleteGranted, I agree with you, but just saying - if Sting loses, that will be why.
Oh Sting will eat Pedigree's Sting will be eating many a Pedigree.
ReplyDeleteStockholm Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteI would expect HHH to lay Sting out on Raw this week so the feud isn't so one sided, and then for Sting to go over at Mania. This should also go on last.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably the only reason why he's defending Roman, he has a deep tie with WWE that he doesn't want to lose.
ReplyDeleteHe honestly reminds me a bit of Madden in the dying days of WCW. I mean, calling the Straight Edge Society the "Church of the Poisoned Mind". Jeez, just shut up and call the match, damn.
ReplyDeleteI believe so. Probably not the guy I'd of had beat McGuiness, but the idea was solid.
ReplyDeleteThe fact they haven't even done that with Reigns shows how blind they are to even the most obvious booking directions.
ReplyDeleteBrock-Reigns HAS to go on last, for a number of reasons.
ReplyDeleteAustin only gives praise when he thinks it's necessary, so it makes no sense for Jericho to shill.
ReplyDeleteNo. You never win by telling a playing customer to shut up, justified or not.
ReplyDeleteI can't listen to Jericho, I find him insufferable. What did he say?
Wouldn't Lynn be a good guy to bring in as a NXT trainer. A incredibly solid worker who evidently was also a really smart safe worker to have that crazy long of a career?
ReplyDeleteJericho is no Austin
ReplyDeleteI think having the WWE there to help potentially push Fozzy means he'll attempt to stay on their good side.
ReplyDeleteGiven Sting's history with attack dogs, he could use all the Pedigree he can get.
ReplyDeleteIf it's going on last they will need to start things at around the 2 and a half hour mark. The highlight package entrances alone might take 45 minutes...this isn't a complaint mind you. The two things the WWE always nails are highlight packages and epic entrances
ReplyDeleteBut what household object would cause Ambrose to lose?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jericho feels that the podcast and Fozzy won't make him enough money.
ReplyDeleteAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteTNA still existing in June.
I needed that laugh.
Sorry, I should re-phrase that. I don't literally mean "shut up, Yankees Fans, we don't care about your opinions."
ReplyDeleteThe fans have no right to criticise Roman.
ReplyDeleteBeyond shilling there is also Stone Cold, who
ReplyDeleteachieved everything, is able to just look at it objectively and say this
sucks..this is good. Jericho has both...I don't want to piss Vince off
because he might want another pay check and...Jericho probably still
has a chip on his shoulder for being held back from the HHH/Stone Cold
level and has a knee jerk reaction to people saying such and such worker isn't worthy of being "the guy"
That Jimmy Jacobs news is quite logical.
ReplyDeleteHe's insufferable? You gonna tell him that, ON THE TWITTAH?!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm not sure if my comment indicated otherwise.
ReplyDeleteScrew WM, I'm excited for the Invasion Attack main event.
ReplyDeletePlace to be Nation WrestleMania 23 Re-Book is up
ReplyDeletehttp://placetobenation.com/the-great-wrestlemania-re-book-wrestlemania-23/
what is that?
ReplyDeleteJust don't talk to his ex-girlfriends in front of him.
ReplyDeleteSo how many guys have had to publicly endorse Reigns in an effort to get him over? The Rock, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry....anyone else?
ReplyDeletewhat that Jimmy Jacobs might have a better idea of how to make Owens and Zayne look good than Bill Demott telling them to take their clothes off and fight while he eats a pint of ice cream in the corner?
ReplyDeleteSpoilers, Bayless wins....LOL.
ReplyDeleteIbushi/Styles for the IWGP Heavyweight title. Ibushi won New Japan Cup(king of the ring of NJPW), he had the right to challenge NEVER title, the IC title or the IWGP HW.
ReplyDeleteSitting in HAZWOPER refresher course and the fucking power point is in Comic Sans. Good glob, it's like somebody's aunt prepared it.
ReplyDeleteAh, okay. When is it?
ReplyDeleteSo the NFL is doing a march madness bracket for the greatest game of all time huh? I think Superbowl XLIII is the greatest game I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Heyman.
ReplyDeleteNot even Pope Francis can save him, and he's awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of surprised that they did not detour the HHH/Sting angle long enough to have HHH job to him.
ReplyDeleteExcept the one group that matters.
ReplyDeleteThe fans
Heyman is great but isn't Jesus to make miracles.
ReplyDeleteWell, they're both Jews...
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to seen Paul's face when they told him he was going to be saying he could have beat Hogan at WM3 or the Rock or Stone cold or.......
ReplyDeleteRelevant username. Also, I agree.
ReplyDeleteThere was an argument in last night's evening thread re: Meltzer & TNA news, sources & such. One of the points was Meltzer saying TNA doesn't do house shows, now him saying they will. So now reading this, seems far more accurate to say that people within TNA would *like to* resume doing house shows. That's a LONG way off from venues being booked, talent lined up, tickets sold, etc.
ReplyDeleteTNA will be around forever. We've been forecasting its death for years and it still survives.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for HHH to hit the legdrop while the referee forgets to do a fast count
ReplyDeleteApril 5.
ReplyDeleteBob Ryder confirmed that they are doing house shows.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong: Was WrestleMania 29 the last time Triple H actually won a match?
ReplyDeleteExtreme Rules 2013: Lost to Brock Lesnar
Random RAW: "Lost" to Curtis Axel by forfeit
WrestleMania 30: Lost to Daniel Bryan
Extreme Rules 2014: Lost to The Shield
Payback 2014: Lost to The Shield
WrestleMania 31: (Probably) Lost to Sting
Am I missing anything?
If nothing else, that should indicate that Triple H is bulletproof. He hasn't won a match in 2 years (granted, he's only been in about 5), yet he's still treated like a big f'n deal. In fact, even though he's been booked stupidly in some ways (beating Punk, beating Brock), if you look at his win/loss record since he went into semi-retirement (after Extreme Rules 2010), he's lost far more than he's won.
Austin will be next
ReplyDeleteArizona/Pittsburgh?
ReplyDeleteThe NY Giants (vs Bills) vs NY Giants (vs Pats) in the finals
ReplyDeleteThis past Super Bowl or Pats/Rams are mine. Titans/Rams was close too
ReplyDeleteThe last Super Bowl was pretty amazing. I'm not a huge football fan but I was captivated throughout and that doesn't always happen.
ReplyDeleteWait....he actually said that?
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd Giants/Pats game was great.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Rams/Titans was (one of) the best ever.
The full story from the literal Observer, not wrestlenewzboard or some shit, this week was "The company is looking at getting back to doing house shows in June." No more, no less.
ReplyDeleteVince is going to introduce the Poochie rule soon.
ReplyDelete"Whenever Reigns isn't on screen, all the wrestlers should be asking 'Where's Roman?'"
Austin, Hogan, Flair, Undertaker all in the ring Monday night bowing on one knee and kissing Reigns' hand as he enters.
ReplyDeleteActually reading Jericho's whole quote..it's still dumb but I at least see his thinking. I completely disagree with his take on it but it might be his actual option with about 30% shilling.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the camp of "not giving a shit about the guy because he's never around." I'm not saying he needs to be on TV every week like Austin was, but I'm not going to care about a guy who I know isn't going to be there for the next 3 months. I feel the same way about Undertaker, which is too bad because I'd always been a fan. Same with Rocky - I stopped caring about seeing him at Mania because I knew he wasn't going to stay.
ReplyDeleteYep, ran down all the guys Roman would beat. Even though he normally needs two guys to help him powerbomb someone.
ReplyDeleteI read an interview yesterday with Santino in which he basically said, "fans have been complaining for 10 years about having someone new, now you got it so stop complaining".
ReplyDeleteYea he listed everyone from Hulk to Stone Cold to Rock and HHH at their big moments and said Reigns would beat them all..except Brock.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the quote?
ReplyDeleteDidn't we have something new last year and we loved it?
ReplyDeleteBucs/Raiders or Bears/Pats too.
ReplyDeleteI never understood why that guy had a job.
ReplyDeleteAnd fuck him
A Jimmy John's sandwich.
ReplyDeleteThe same guy who jobbed to the Big Show a few weeks earlier?
ReplyDeleteThat guy??
I just read the Jericho quote, meh. I don't see what the big deal is.
ReplyDeleteLook, like I've said before, if you're going to give someone a shot,
ReplyDeletegive them a shot. There've been tons of guys who when they've been put
in the main event at WrestleMania might not have been quote unquote
ready. Who's to say who's ready and who's not? Let's see how the crowd
reacts when they get there. But all I know is that Roman Reigns was
everybody's favorite guy until the Royal Rumble. And then everyone
turned on Roman Reigns. It's so funny how two days before, and the year
before, everybody loved Roman Reigns. Everybody. All the fans did. And
don't tell me that you didn't because they were all saying "Roman
Reigns, Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns...what? Daniel Bryan didn't win the
Royal Rumble? We hate Roman Reigns! Boo!" And meanwhile, ever since then
- I mean, we did house shows in Calgary and Edmonton and it was like
Beatlemania. They were going nuts for him. And that was a week after the
Royal Rumble. So I think that he is ready, as much as anyone can be
ready in this day and age. So let's see how it goes. I mean the match he
had with Daniel Bryan at Fastlane was incredible. And you can't tell me
that it was all because of Daniel Bryan. Really? Because I always heard
in the business that it takes two. And I think I've proven myself to be
a fairly decent worker, so if I'm telling you it takes two, I think
every fan should shut the hell up and listen to what I'm saying. He did a
great job of living up to his end of the bargain and he'll do the same
thing at WrestleMania. They will leave no stone unturned to make that a
great match. They will get all the benefits. All the bells and whistles.
And as long as they can hold it together, I think it's going to be
great.
The same guy who got beat by Rollins as well.
ReplyDeleteThe same guy who quotes Looney Tunes.
Imagine Austin coming out "A d-uh a d-uh a d-uh don't trust anybody!" Off the rails stupidity.
He makes some good points. Like I said above, I don't see the big deal.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more of a general feeling about Jericho and how he has been lately.
ReplyDeleteSo now the WWE is scripting his podcast?
ReplyDeleteYeah that was my though. I totally disagree with his take that we were all ready to crown Reigns right before the rumble and many other things he says but he actually has a thought out explanation in his head as opposed to just screaming shut up to the fans.....with his catch phrase I should point out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he is right. What killed Roman was a perfect storm of crap - Bryan coming back, lackluster interviews, a lack of building him up as a solo guy, Orton throwing him under the bus, and not building him up to his strengths.
ReplyDeleteYou can blame the fans somewhat, but you can't blame them completely.
See now Scott's comment is exactly what Heyman should be saying, "Brock will wrestle when someone is worth his time." At least then his opponent gets a tiny rub from just being deemed worthy of a shot. You don't need two stars in a PPV main event -- look at Mike Tyson in the 80s, Floyd Mayweather now. People sometimes just like to see a dominant mofo.
ReplyDeleteThis sort of looking down at the roster and maybe a few other destruction matches with him doing Mayweather-type mocking of a downed opponent on PPV, using a light towel on his forehead after the match, etc. while doing the minimum to meet the championship clause (maybe have Triple H say Vince had changed it from 30 days to 60 or 90 days during the Attitude Era or some BS to actually acknowledge it) would possibly have Brock being booed -- probably not, but at least a win by someone at Mania really means something.
It would've worked nicely with Triple H inserting Rollins into the Rumble match and Heyman laughing at it (Brock's appearances are only on PPV). That way Rollins' near win means even more and maybe instead Rollins now gets cheered and a MITB cash-in could mean a lot at the end of Mania. The next night Rollins can go back to heeling it up.
Well, he does have many roster guys come on, so it doesn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteNo it didn't, it would just be outrageous if he did. The only reason I could see it is for Vince to finally bury the last of the WCW guys. But he can't have a grudge that long, can he?
ReplyDelete
