When Did the WWE Decide to Bring Back the Ellimination Chamber Show?
WWE Officials made the decision to bring back the Chamber show within the past few days. Part of the reason why the Chamber was done away with was that a lot of arenas were unable to handle the structure. Also, a lot of the WWE talent were surprised to hear the gimmick was being brought back.

Firsties.
ReplyDeleteCLASSIC MARV POST
ReplyDeleteFrom every day ever:
Boners.
Is it wrong for me to hope Stardust is in the IC Chamber match?
ReplyDeleteAnd that he has a special glittery, sparkly pod?
And that he spends the entire match until his pod opens freaking out in ecstasy about how awesome his pod is?
All the LOLs at the WWE's BS reasoning for not doing the Chamber. They are running the show in an arena that was built in 1967. Gtfo with your excuses....just say the Network is losing subscribers after WrestleMania and you needed a hook.
ReplyDeleteThey've had Elimination Chamber matches in 13 different arenas...give me a break.
So if Bryan's essentially done as an in-ring performer, what's next for him? Trainer? Commentator? Goodwill Ambassador?
ReplyDeleteA tag team Elimination Chamber could be good, but could also turn into a giant clusterfuck. I like the idea of crowning a new Intercontinental champion there, though.
ReplyDeleteIt is never wrong to hope that Stardust is involved in anything.
ReplyDeleteLike the spoiler in that wwe.com post.
ReplyDelete358,000 viewers? OUCH.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me that guy will be able to walk away with no problem whatsoever.
ReplyDelete"Also, a lot of the WWE talent were surprised to hear the gimmick was being brought back."
ReplyDeleteWhy? Did Vince give a big speech about the Chamber being future endeavored last year or something?
WWE Officials made the decision to bring back the Chamber show within the past few days.
ReplyDeleteSo are we supposed to call this "WWE being flexible" or "WWE has no fucking clue what its doing right now?"
WWE: We Just Do Things
ReplyDeleteI actually love that. If they used it, everything would kinda make sense.
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS FINE
ReplyDelete"Also, a lot of the WWE talent were surprised to hear the gimmick was being brought back."
ReplyDeleteTranslation: They were pissed because literally everyone hates being in that match.
Is it me, or is Nattie gradually heading toward total nudity?
ReplyDeleteAnother winner Marvin.
ReplyDeleteJericho talks about that match like it shaved years off his career. I think even Hunter talked about how bad it was and how pointless the bumps are because the cage makes no noise.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what else they do for a special event though.
It's amazing how committed guys like Cody and Bray are to their gimmicks and getting themselves over.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's sad that WWE doesn't seem to know what do to with that.
Thanks man! Some day I'll run out of ideas, some day. lol
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing
ReplyDeleteThey could have done a real KOTR tournament instead of what they actually did. The eight men, one night style one like they originally did.
ReplyDeleteThey could conceivably have done a IC Title tournament too.
I almost didn't recognize you this time.
ReplyDeleteWell come on, it's not like one of the most popular stars had to just hand back a title because he's hurt or anything.
ReplyDeleteGlobal Force Wrestling will have four championships? So how many with Jeff Jarrett end up with at the end of the first event?
ReplyDeleteI'm almost positive no one has used ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ as a tagline.
ReplyDeleteEven Hunter's on record that he hates that match. And he makes it a sick point of pride to not complain about match types.
ReplyDeleteDid HHH almost literally die in that thing?
ReplyDeleteThat's actually what I was thinking, but I didn't watch any of this new version of the kotr so I can't speak to whether or not it sucked.
ReplyDeleteWWE: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ReplyDeleteimokwiththis.jpg
ReplyDeleteYup. RVD landed on his throat and damaged his wind pipe or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a serious problem deciding if his mustache should be black lol
ReplyDeleteLife is hard.
Christian got hurt badly in one of them too
ReplyDeleteGrand Slam winner!
ReplyDeleteIn all fairness, you can't really blame the cage for that.
ReplyDeleteSee? It works.
ReplyDeleteIt should. I didn't even notice it.
ReplyDeleteSmarks: "There's not enough new wrestling programming on the Network! Isn't this supposed to be a pro wrestling Network?"
ReplyDeleteWWE: "You're right. We're going to do a King of the Ring special and Elimination Chamber that are exclusive to the Network, just for you!"
Smarks proceed to nitpick King of the Ring and Elimination Chamber because they aren't exactly what they wanted.
Well yeah you kind of can because he adjusted the way he did the move he had done 100000000 times because of it.
ReplyDelete*mikegrahamgif*
ReplyDeleteThe Elimination Chamber sucks. So many backdrops onto the metal grating and announcers screaming about the barbarism of the match while dudes writhe around in over-sell mode.
ReplyDeleteTBF christian gets badly hurt ordering a (liberal elite caused) latte.
ReplyDeleteWarGames or #CancelWWENetwork!
ReplyDeleteTrue.
ReplyDeleteI will be very upset if there isn't an awesome Stardust pod!
ReplyDeleteSocialist Chai Tee with Soy
ReplyDeleteSo it's safe to say that "WWE Officials = Crazy Old Vince"?
ReplyDeleteI actually like that it's the IC Title being decided, because they'd be zero drama to the World Title in the Chamber. Rollins isn't dropping it until at least the Lesnar match.
ReplyDeleteTagline, shit; you could make a logo out of that with the W.
ReplyDeleteAnd a PINCH of bee pollen.
ReplyDelete¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯E?
ReplyDeletelmao
Ok that kinda works haha
Organic bee pollen.
ReplyDeleteSo I just found a 48gb torrent of more or less complete CWF (Memphis) TV from 86-89.
ReplyDeleteYeah the roof over it really screwed Rob, he kind of had to just...tumble onto Hunter
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's why I doubt that they're actually going to a World Title one.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a tag team one because it sets up unique possibilities and it's something we haven't seen.
I like the idea of the IC title one filling the vacant title. Hell, just use most of the same guys from the Mania 31 ladder match.
Who complained that there wasn't enough wrestling on the network? There isn't enough classic stuff on the network, but I haven't seen anyone bitch about not enough new stuff.
ReplyDeleteExcept ditch R-Truth and add The Ryback.
ReplyDelete:-( Clearly I am not a true liberal elite for missing that.
ReplyDelete¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯E: This is NOT WCW 2000, We Swear.
ReplyDeleteI can't speak for anyone else but my concern is that the special is like...the most dangerous thing they do. And they announce it the same guy a fan favorite leaves with another injury...
ReplyDeleteI love that it's network-exclusive, but it would be cool if it was something safer for the guys, that's all.
The King of the Ring special was not very good at all and they gave it zero build. Hopefully they learned from that and will do better with the EC
ReplyDeleteHahaha, ok yeah Lax you're right, black stache is better
ReplyDeleteYouTube cat videos get more viewers.
ReplyDeleteWell they are building it, aren't they? They announced it 3 weeks ahead of time instead of one, so that's an improvement right there.
ReplyDeleteSheamus vs. Ziggler vs. Barrett vs. Neville vs. Ryback vs. Wyatt
ReplyDeleteNew Day vs. Kidd/Cesaro vs. Lucha Dragons vs. El Matadores vs. Wyatt Family vs. Primetime Players or Ascension
It's still cool by the way, at least they're trying. The overall idea is a great one.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to assume XWT.
ReplyDeleteIdea for another Network Special: Legends Reunion, which features a bunch of Legends Matches. This way we can get the now-annual New Age Outlaws reunion off of RAW.
ReplyDeleteI can't see how anyone could complain about either of those. I'm good with it.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, but it might get depressing when you realize how many legends are gone now....
ReplyDeleteUWT or wrestledesires or whtever the fuck it's called now.
ReplyDeleteWatch it on 4x fast-forward and they'll even look like regular matches!
ReplyDeleteNeeds more Stardust.
ReplyDeleteIf they're going to have Jerry Springer associated with the Network, why not just recreate the Jerry Springer show and have wrestlers on as guests venting their grievances? You could even do the old-school Springer show fights.
ReplyDeleteWhy hasn't George The Animal Steele ever done Raw guest commentary before?
ReplyDeleteI expect them to promote the hell out of EC. This is one of the few things they can actually use to push the 50,000 or so people who are still buying PPVs a la carte loose.
ReplyDeleteI actually wouldn't be surprised if large segments of Payback are setups for EC at this point.
I slept with a trannie hooker!-
ReplyDeleteMark Henry
I always thought those douchey wrestlers courts Taker presided over would be fucking fascinating.
ReplyDeleteDo that with Jerry.
Barrett vs Stardust
ReplyDeleteDispute: Breaking the awesome ladder
I think the Bellas were genetically engineered for this.
ReplyDeletePeople complained that the Jerry Springer, cartoon, etc. stuff wasn't enough original wrestling programming when the new shows were announced a few weeks back
ReplyDeleteSo is New Day going to be Xavier's stepping stone to the next level? People seem high on him.
ReplyDeleteThe one gimmick match they hate is one gimmick match I like.
ReplyDeleteMarv, you're amazing just the way you are.
ReplyDeleteNo turnbuckles at the commentary table.
ReplyDeleteIt should be, but then creative will forget about them.
ReplyDeleteSo why aren't Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow doing the whole Mr Perfect and The Genuis team up?
ReplyDeleteSpringer has to be 100% a Vince mandated move. Nothing like a guy who's popularity peaked in 1998 (hey, that sounds familiar...)
ReplyDeleteVince: GODDAMMIT! We need something to promote this Network! Something edgy! And hip! And appealing to our youth audience.
HHH: So, we could move the product in a more realistic MMA direction, you know, there's a lot of money...
Vince: SHAADUP PAUL! We don't do that shit! People will die! No, we need something that personifies pop culture. I got it! Get me Jerry Springer, GODDAMMIT!!!
(silence)
HHH: Uh, sure thing Vince
Wow, I assumed the Elimination Chamber show would just be a short broadcast with the EC match, like KOTR was. But they're putting on an entire PPV with a World title match too? Holy shit that's desperate.
ReplyDeleteBecause that would make too much sense.
ReplyDelete"The 5/8 Impact show drew 358,000 viewers, with just over 100,000 for the replay."
ReplyDeleteI hope they realize that less people would watch the replay.
Also, DA wants the show to bring in more viewers, they do realize they are on less cable packages right?
So.......
ReplyDelete.....those ratings aren't causing much of an IMPACT.
*runs away from the tomatoes*
You forgot to put the sunglasses on. That's why you got the tomatoes.
ReplyDelete*trip and fall on the ground*
ReplyDeleteThis seems legit.
ReplyDelete"People will die!"
ReplyDeleteI'm hearing this the same way Charlie screams it when they can't decide if they should cut the lemons thin in the bar.
Vince probably wanted Morton Downey, Jr.
ReplyDeleteA pretty good number if you ask me
ReplyDeleteOh. If anything, I don't understand their business model of putting ALL their PPVs on the Network.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the odds WWE ever does a Terry Funk documentary? Watching his bits on the Foley one really made me want to see more.
ReplyDeletehi dixie why so incompetent thx
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS FINE
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know what a normal DA show pulls. It can't be more than 30,000 for anything else on that channel at any given time.
ReplyDeleteAs fun as it is to needle TNA, DA should be worship at the feet of a Dixie statute at this point.
I have an entirely blocked ear and crushingly loud tinnitus in it. It's *unbearable* and the doctors can't do anything about it for a couple of days apparently. It's so bad. Like a constant swelling pressure in the head that can't be ignored. Aaaaaaargh.
ReplyDeletePositive observation about the current awful WWE product: Heel Sheamus is actually excellent. He should murderize Ziggler in 2 minutes at the PPV and go over for the IC Title and hold that shit for a year or something. Honestly he might be the best heel on the roster right now.
ReplyDeleteThey paid a lot of money and expected more though. It's not like TNA costs the same as they're other programming.
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS FINE !
ReplyDelete"Lookit 'em, he fell straight on 'is arse!"
ReplyDeleteSo how is a tag title chamber match going to work? Is it going to be three teams, with each pod having one guy in it, or six teams, with each pod having two guys in it? And how uncomfortable would the latter be for the teams that have to wait in the pods?
ReplyDeleteRight, this was people seem to miss. Considering what DA paid for TNA, they expected a bigger return. Of course, that was foolish.
ReplyDeleteThey were teasing a Barrett/Sheamus pairing, too.
ReplyDeleteKing Wade and Sir Sheamus? Why not?
Hunting for bigfoot can't be cheap!
ReplyDeleteTrue, but they can't have paid that much. If I recall correctly, they slashed & burned the budget compared to what Spike gave them.
ReplyDeleteThe RAW commentary team will do that to you.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, R Truth is afraid of heights, he's afraid of spiders, all he needs to do is finish out that fear list and be agoraphobic as well. You could easily have him in a pod, freaking out that it's gonna close in on him, then when he's let out of the pod, he goes crazy running around knocking everyone out without even knowing.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be worth it for the visual of all 3 New Day guys inside the pod clapping for 20 minutes straight.
ReplyDeleteIf Los Matadores are in the Elimination Chamber, the gimmick match has run it's course.
ReplyDeleteZiggler is worse than stale at this point. Let Sheamus kill him dead and put him out of action for a few months while they figure out what the hell to do with Dolph.
ReplyDeleteWHY NOT.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love Sheamus' proud smile when Barrett calls him his friend.
Now I wish there was an EC in the 90's so I could see the Natural Disasters crammed into a pod.
ReplyDeleteThen you realize that R-truth is the one with that gimmick. Fail.
ReplyDeleteSomeone pours spiders into his pod, and the only way for him to get out is to climb high.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's tremendous, poor Kofi's going to have to do some entertaining gymnastic spots, bonus points if he can end up upside down somehow.
ReplyDeleteOr Men on a Mission.
ReplyDeleteZiggler is the perfect guy for a valet. He can be the cocky asshole that everyone hates with the sweet, beautiful lady every likes.
ReplyDeleteI think the TNA defenders were throwing around big numbers though when they were bragging about the deal
ReplyDeleteI think Bigfoot himself is expensive, so they'll probably never actually "find" him
ReplyDeleteI'm claustrophobic, so the idea of being in a pod with another large man and having to wait in there for god knows how long freaks me the hell out.
ReplyDeleteWell yes, we've discussed that on and on here. WrestleMania, at the very least, should not be on the Network.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this should be a total stretcher job situation that lets Ziggler come back as a heel. Dude needs a complete gimmick change.
ReplyDeleteHe really could use a gimmick change on the level of Bradshaw becoming John Bradshaw Layfield--- new name, completely new backstory, everything.
Fact: No way Valentine ever gets stuck in a pod with Bruti
ReplyDeleteDude, if New Day spent 20 minutes in the pod together clapping and doing ridiculous shit like trying to squeeze Big E up on their shoulders--- they'd be the most over thing on the show.
ReplyDeleteWhich isn't saying much in modern day WWE, but still.
I shake my head anytime I see that commercial.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was born on the day The rock faced Hurricane on Raw it was on in the hospital room it was on the first time I ever changed her diaper.. I had her watch it last week and she liked it. When your daughter is 11 you should have her watch the cena/neville match and tell her what you were doing when it was on.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what's sadder...Dougie's use of numerous troll accounts, or his use of one troll account to upvote comments from another troll account.
ReplyDeleteYep. The best is when I don't respond to his numerous ID's, so he loses his shit and creates more ID's and spams the entire chat. Take a look at the top. He copy/pasted my recap three times under Bayless's name. I don't even get the point.
ReplyDelete
