Hi Scott
I'll get this in before MITB in case they ruin it, but as much as we all hate the Super-Cena act, does the subsequent impact of Owens winning clean (and Brock's Summerslam destruction last year) vindicate it?
As bored senseless as I was watching Cena beat Rusev for months on end, I do wonder if that kind of thing is a price worth paying for the OMG moments when he does get defeated. Or is there a way of having our cake and eating it too?
Cena's US title open challenge was fine, it was the PPV matches with Rusev that were annoying people. If Cena just did his challenges on PPV it would probably juice the numbers a bit because they could hype up mystery challengers and use random guys that they had no intention of keeping around. Bring in one of the nostalgia guys like Sean Waltman or Honky Tonk Man for a one-shot, beat him, move on with your life. Cena stays unbeaten, it's fun for the fans, everyone wins. Putting Cena in "real" feuds for four months because they have nothing better to do with him is the real problem.
I'd think Stone Cold is up there among the main selling points for next year's Mania
ReplyDeleteCena/Taker was an intriguing match two years ago because Taker had the streak and Cena had the title. It was unimaginable that either guy WOULD lose and yet you knew they wouldn't end a Taker WM match with a fuck finish, so someone would HAVE to lose.
ReplyDeleteNow? Who cares?
Cena's jobbing clean to the NXT Champion and Taker probably should have disappeared for good after WM30.
I have to think he'll be there, but it's hard to sell tickets based on the draw of Austin cutting a promo.
ReplyDeleteYeah he'll be there but he's not working a match and nobody is going to buy a ticket to see Steve Austin just hanging out.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking he could actually wrestle. It's surely WM32 or never
ReplyDeleteI think anyone holding out hope for an Austin match is destined to be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteIt was CM Punk or never, it was John Cena or never, it was WM 30 or never, he has had a million chances to work and never has. After WM 32 it'll be "____ or never".
ReplyDeleteYeah I suppose, but it did seem a possibility when he and Heyman were discussing it during the interview last week
ReplyDeleteCena is due for some hair growth ala Sting 95.
ReplyDeleteWait, did you just seriously suggest John Cena v. X-Pac or Honky Tonk Man on PPV in 2015?
ReplyDeleteI thought the time that roster walked on Raw it would have been fun the next week to use replacements from the past. Like old school Raw.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see Cena wrestle the Elvis impersonators from the State Farm ad than HTM
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind guys like Shelton, Carlito, Masters, etc...guys fans know who can still go.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching Cena do his thing now, though the Rusev I Quit match was one of the most ridiculous matches I've ever seen
ReplyDeleteThe SuperCena aspect isn't mainly that be rarely loses, it's that he shrugs everything off. He'll show up on RAW after a loss or ass kicking on PPV and tells meta jokes and smiling; he doesn't know how to sell a guy being a threat and how much it matters to beat him the way a Hogan or Austin did. He knows the words but not the music.
ReplyDelete>If Cena just did his challenges on PPV it would probably juice the numbers a bit because they could hype up mystery challengers and use random guys that they had no intention of keeping around.
ReplyDeleteDisagree. Mystery challengers are not something you want to sell a PPV around, especially since it'd be pretty obvious the challengers would be guys on not on the PPV. So who does that leave you?
There's a reason all those you pick the card shows bombed.
The challenge works much better on TV than PPV because you can get away with having midcarder v. Cena on a random RAW rather than on a PPV where it would just end up being a big disappointment, especially if the choice was freaking X-Pac.
Brock vs. Austin, Texas Death Match! One can hope and dream, right? lol
ReplyDeleteAnd it gives Cena something to do in the weeks between PPV without sticking him in a fruitless angle atop the card.
ReplyDeleteOh is Rousy interested in working for WWE? I haven't heard her mention it every 3rd day since Wrestlemania.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone expected Steve to say "absolutely not" and might as well leave business open than to close the door on it. I'm personally skeptical of Austin's drawing power now days anyway. He was once the biggest star in the world but in all do honesty that started in 98 and was over with by 02. He wrestled his last match in 03 and has really stayed out of the lime light both in the business and out of it since. There are kids graduating high school that in all do likely hood don't ever remember Austin wrestling.
ReplyDeleteYea. They even covered for it with the Rusev I Quit match by saying he would still have the I Quit match, it just wouldn't be for the US title.
ReplyDeleteBattle For Control Of The Company: The Rock (w/Ronda Rousey) vs Triple H (w/Stephanie McMahon
ReplyDeleteWWE Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns
Brock Lesnar vs Kevin Owens
Undertaker vs Sting
Daniel Bryan vs either Shawn Michaels or Kurt Angle (the former, really)
John Cena vs ?????? (Hulk Hogan if Hogan ends up getting medically cleared to have one last match after all?)
Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt
Guest Host: Stone Cold
Not saying this is the greatest card by any means, but I think it's pretty swell and a somewhat plausible one as well.
You should listen every 4th day. Its there
ReplyDeleteI think I am destined to be disappointed. ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah this was bizarre. Maybe all of his recapping has convinced Scott this is 97. :)
ReplyDeleteWell Michaels has already said he's not coming back period and he's not coming back to face DB. I don't know if plausible is a word I'd use for a guy thats unsure if and when he'll return. I don't think Owens would look good at all against Lesnar. I think Lesnar is massive in every way. If Rousey can wrestle I think it draws well on ppv since MMA fans who don't have the network will pay to see it. Rousey vs. McMahon I think would be a big time ppv draw for the non wrestling audience. It won't sell any tickets but it'll get extra ppv buys.
ReplyDeleteI'd be skeptical too but they're in Texas, where I'm sure it'd be massive news. Maybe they'll make him an offer he can't refuse. I wouldn't say there's no chance it's happening. there's definitely a chance
ReplyDeleteI do agree it's time he changed his look, get him some Boxing shorts to replace his jorts and proper boots instead of trainers to go with his new hair.
ReplyDeleteHah! Well said.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember Austin every selling a loss or even showing ass as far as a heel goes. He'd be talking non stop about ass whoppings before, during and after the match and he never lose clean the way people here want Cena to. If he lost it was due to 5,000 people interfering and "screwing" him so I can't really put Austin into this. Hogan I agree with though every monster of the month that Hogan encountered you believed was truly going to be the one to end Hulkamania.
ReplyDelete1. He's always susceptible to changing his mind.
ReplyDelete2. I said "somewhat plausible" for a reason.
3. Owens looks just fine standing next to Brock. He fights a not-too-different style than Brock does, just build him up as a legitimate ass-kicker over the next year and then have them cross paths in an organic way.
Could they risk the fan wrath of announcing Austin then have Mr. McMahon do all he can to make sure that Austin can't wrestle. Austin tries to fight the man but McMahon keeps him away all the way until the replacement main event where The Authority seems to be getting what they want only to have Austin force his way in, KICKWHAMSTUNNER and the faces win?
ReplyDeleteDo you dare bait and switch a crowd of potentially 100K?
If it was Raw, I'd say they'd try it...but WM???
This. Cena looks the same since 2004, he acts the same since 2004, he wrestles the same since 2004 and he talks the same since 2004.
ReplyDeleteAustin was at least pissed. You don't have to act injured but you should act like it fucking sucks to lose.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Cena sells tons of merchandise, and as long as the crowds are interested when he's out there, he's going to be a big part of what WWE does.
ReplyDeleteYeah I think there are a ton of guys you could bring in for a shot that were at that mid card level that are no longer with the company.
ReplyDeleteNo way they'd get away with announcing an Austin match then not delivering it. Probably be some kind of no DQ affair if it happened
ReplyDeleteAustin would be very angry after a loss.
ReplyDeleteI'd say the bloom is off the rose with Taker-Cena by now. Streak is over, Taker is old, Cena isn't The Man anymore. Five years ago, sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd they won't turn him heel until they milk every last drop of the good guy Superman act. Nothing less, nothing sooner.
ReplyDeleteThis card sucks.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care if Cena wins and loses. In some regards he should just have the belt and never get pinned until Vince doesn't view him as "the guy" anymore. It's kind of silly to parade anyone else around as champion when Cena has been the real champ since 2005.
ReplyDeleteI love that they are trying to rehab the US belt, I hate that Cena has to be the protected champion and it couldn't have been someone else. For fuck sake even someone like Miz.
ReplyDeleteGermany may hang double digits on these ladies.
ReplyDeleteDo it. It's responsible parenting!
ReplyDeleteShow by a mile.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS OBAMA!!!
ReplyDelete#geddemliberuls
Show\Austin Could've main evented SS if done right.
ReplyDeleteShow/Austin could have been easily a 6 month feud
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing though is that the programs that create these... GSA, Magic Submitter, Scrapebox etc... were designed to spam thousands of comment links to help google rankings... then google got wise to it and changed their algorithm to compensate for it and make that no longer work... so what they are doing here isn't going to do any good anyway.
ReplyDeleteOk. Time to hit the weeds.
ReplyDeleteUgh.
Yeah but as soon as he loses it they go back to square one.
ReplyDeleteIf Jobber or #Curry had posted this it would've had a different meaning.
ReplyDeleteOwens/Cena right now. Kid's a big Owens fan.
ReplyDeleteBilly leading DX against the traitorous HHH could have been the #2 or #3 feud too.
ReplyDeleteWell let's hope they make a big deal out of the guy who finally beats him for the belt
ReplyDeleteI think Undertaker and Sting should tag team against somebody. Let them both retire on a win.
ReplyDeleteYou're right that Austin pretty much never lost clean, but dude, it's nuts to say that he didn't sell losses. He'd be out for fucking blood whenever he got screwed. You can say a lot of things about Austin, but saying that he didn't care what happened to him is not one of them.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what any of that means.
ReplyDelete#geddemtechnocrats
It will with me too, but not until later.
ReplyDeleteWeed whacking, grocery shopping, then that.
Booking a guy who half the audience clearly hates as an American hero really kills the face vs. evil foriegn heel dynamic they were going for.

ReplyDeleteAt least they've started sending pretty girls. They know our weakness.
ReplyDeleteNerd free version: Spam links don't work anymore and these people are dumb.
ReplyDeleteFuck it. Just call it what it is: Slamboree: A Legend's Reunion, Part XXXII.
ReplyDeleteHey, Paralax or someone else who knows about this stuff:
ReplyDeleteWhat's the purpose of the bots that just say sfsf? Who is benefiting from that?
I think even less of you now. This is worse than being Canadian.
ReplyDeleteI'll get by.
ReplyDeleteThe two are kind of connected.
ReplyDeleteIf you refresh they have edited it to your standard spam post. Posting random characters gets it around being initially flagged as spam.
ReplyDeleteI said it last night but the card for Summerslam 99 should have been:
ReplyDeleteAustin vs Big Show- World Title
Rock & Sock vs X-Pac & Kane-Tag Titles
Triple H (w/Chyna) vs King Billy Gunn (w/DX)
Undertaker vs Shamrock
Test vs Shane
Jeff Jarrett vs D'Lo Brown- IC Title
Huh. Never noticed that.
ReplyDeleteWhich makes Kyle Fitta's "You're not a real girl" response ten times funnier in hindsight!
ReplyDeleteYou mean Ron The Truth!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those Kane-Isaac Yankem scenarios. I'm gonna need some time.
ReplyDeleteThe hilarity (and heartbreak) is that some people STILL actually spout that shit in all seriousness. Just yesterday, I saw some fucking tool, whose reproductive rights ought to be revoked on the basis of imbecility, driving a mini-van...a mini-van, mind you, that had a bumper sticker on the back window that had a picture of Obama with the slogan "Does this ass make my truck look big?"
ReplyDeleteRight-wingers in my area seem to be stupider than the national average for that bunch.
Is that my fault? Seriously asking, because of the girl posts and whatnot? If it is, I'll cut back/stop.
ReplyDeleteNo sir. You WILL NOT take the stupidest right winger area award away from my area. I WILL NOT allow it!
ReplyDeleteHe's Fitta? That explains a lot.
ReplyDeleteThat feud did nothing for me, and the ref asking if they Quit after every move was so outrageously stupid I can't believe they actually did it. But I'm loving US Open Challenge Cena
ReplyDeleteAlmost the entirety of the whole clone wars takes place in the meantime. It's about three years. They were intentionally vague about the time line because they were making that clone wars cartoon show and wanted lee way to extend that as long as they needed to. You're supposed to see Anakin's scar and hair and just assume a lot of time has gone by.
ReplyDeleteLOLHAMILTONWINS.
ReplyDelete"We just all watched Chyna get it DOGGYSTYLE!"
ReplyDeleteI think JR predicted the future.
Please. Vinson was doing that when you were in the BoD womb.
ReplyDeleteI still don't think it's Fitta, but maybe I'm fighting a losing battle?
ReplyDeleteThat's actually pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but I'm not even sure who you are, or that you were doing that.
ReplyDeleteBut unless you're Jef Vinson in disguise, it's been done before.
Unless you live somewhere in Texas, it's gonna be hard to top the southern half of Oregon.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how the FUCK did so many rednecks make it this far fucking NORTH? It's like little Alabama down here, nowadays.
I have no idea. It's just kind of fun to say?
ReplyDeleteSouth Carolina. The state that was so offended at the thought of free black people they left the country,
ReplyDeleteIt's not so bad being Canadian...
ReplyDelete*pouts, kicks can, walks down BoD road to the sad Hulk music*
Ok. Just wondering/concerned. Didn't want to be the one whose posts were damaging the overall health of the boards.
ReplyDeleteNope, that was danimalcrossing. He got banned.
ReplyDeleteReally sad they didn't have the balls to turn Cena and do that match.
ReplyDeleteNo real explanation was given. Fan-canon is that all the time spent near the dark side cave that was masking his presence weakened him but that's not official. It was just his time to die.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like my right wingers up here. They don't give a shit either way whether gays should be married or whether abortions should be had. They just want no taxes and to keep their guns.
ReplyDeleteFirst Hardy's vs Edge & Christian on PPV! Weird Red/Orange shirt period for the Hardys.
ReplyDeleteI can deal with those... it is the type that think that liberal elites made McDonalds serve coffee and salad that drive me nuts.
ReplyDeleteBoth things which, after some serious, serious research, I am fine with, as long as said gun owners are responsible people, and not the Ted Nugent, batshit-crazy, paranoid AR-15 clutching gun-lovers that give normal people a bad name.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if calling a Go To Sleep variant the benadriller is great or really bad. But it looks good.
ReplyDeleteWWE Title: Rollins vs Reigns vs Ambrose vs Brock Fatal 4-Way
ReplyDeleteLoser Leaves WWE: Rock vs HHH
Cena vs Austin (if he will do it)
Undertaker/Sting vs The Wyatt Family
Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan (if healthy)
ATG Battle Royal
WWE vs NXT Divas cluster
Grudge match between the hottest mid card acts available
TBH there has been no serious gun regulation in forever it is just used as a wedge issue. The right wing leadership is enviably good at manufacturing issues like that.
ReplyDeletePoor, poor X-pac.
ReplyDeleteThese four are already determined to be show stealers. Wow.
ReplyDeleteAnd the left wing leadership takes the bait EVERY FUCKING TIME and forgets what they were doing.
ReplyDeleteYeah. They really need to leave this issue alone... because they lost that battle. Just like right wingers would be wise to give up on gay marriage (which they somewhat have) because they lost that battle.
ReplyDeleteOf course the difference there is one battle leads to school shootings and dead children... the other one leads to dudes being married.
Edge countering a poetry in motion with a spear was a thing of beauty in 1999.
ReplyDelete"Undertaker, are you ready to withstand the charge of a Brahma Bull?"
ReplyDelete"Can I withstand the charge? I've got a question for you, Michael Cole. What happens when you rip the balls off of a bull?!?"
WHATDAFUQ Undertaker?
Louie is one weird show, but I love it .
ReplyDeleteAs per my comments below about guns, Texas, ect.....
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT STATE? Their politicians are fucking Bible-thumping idiots, their populace wants to secede from the union every other Thursday, and they seem to care more about protecting gun rights than human rights. THE FUCK, TEXAS?
http://mashable.com/2015/06/07/texas-cop-video/
John Cena is Hulk Hogan if you ignore the Hulkamania sell-by/freshness date. They're basically the same type of character (Cena never gives up because of the fans: a toned-down version of the Training/Prayers/Vitamins mantra). Take Hulk Hogan, remove his Hollywood aspirations, the generational change which forced him out, continue to push him 6 or 7 years past his peak, and you have John Cena. The only difference is Hogan was a larger-than-life, campy hero, while Cena was a more grounded, realistic hero. That realism has both added to his longevity while also breeding contempt from those who hate him.
ReplyDeleteAnd performance generally declines with age.
ReplyDeleteI meant more than my fair share of work in the group project, and an A in the class overall.
ReplyDeleteHad some yesterday. Probably not today. Too much yesterday.

ReplyDeleteAmerican Jesus scenario described by Bad Religion
ReplyDeleteToo much ice cream?
ReplyDeleteMODS HOSS HAS BEEN HACKED!!!
Every site I've seen that video posted at has commenters with suggestions for how the kids could've handled it better. People are seriously holding kids to higher standards of behavior than the police. WTF?
ReplyDelete1:03:35
ReplyDeleteI think of how obnoxiously dominant HHH was for years, and how much more meaningful it made it when he did get beaten by guys like (pre super) Cena, The Shield, Bryan, Batista.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Chris Kyle from there?
ReplyDeleteBwahaha Greg Pikitis at the prom
ReplyDeleteDoesn't....it become a steer?
ReplyDeleteSeriously asking. Failed Agricultural Studies class in high school.
Hey man, they execute the mentally retarded. What do you expect?
ReplyDeleteAmerican Jesus is turning to reality, think about it.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I feel like King might have made that allegory before, during one of Chyna's nasty ball-shots to the Rock. Something about Bull becoming Steer, but I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteOff to Google!
Watching on a Roku, so I just skipped to 1:06:00. Billy Gunn/Kane?
ReplyDeleteFirst thing I hear is JR calling Billy Gunn the best athlete in the company
ReplyDeleteuh..er...ALL THE ICE CREAM ARE BELONG TO HOSS!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously. I've been eating less junk food overall, and overindulged yesterday. Didn't feel all that great.
The beauty of Curb Your Enthusiasm is you can sympathize with most of the situations Larry ends up in. The problem is his complete lack of social skills causes him to make them soooooooooooooooo much worse.
ReplyDeleteLooking over this roster, I'm not sure who else you'd make King of the Ring for 1999 besides Billy. Triple H already won it in 97. Kane and Big Show should both be above it and the title doesn't really add anything to them. Chyna would have actually been worse. Road Dogg was already maxed out. Jeff Jarrett was waiting for his contract to expire.
ReplyDeleteBilly was at least over for the last year and capable of having decent matches with above average workers. The only real problem was turning him heel for no reason.
He really kind of was at that point. Motherfucker was fast on Gunn-ins!
ReplyDeleteWell, you DO know that black people need to KNOW how to behave properly and with respect around white people, particularly white people with badges, guns, and POWER. /S
ReplyDeleteThe sad, horrible thing about that sarcastic comment is that it is the daily truth for so many people in this country, in the year 2015.
It has been in the U.S. for some time now, especially in the South.
ReplyDeleteIf he's the leader of a retooled, still-face DX looking for revenge on HHH/Chyna, then it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteThat's the one!
ReplyDeleteWith Alison, no less!
ReplyDeleteBilly/HHH in a no DQ or cage match at SS.
ReplyDeleteEven without, there's just no one else. Maybe X-Pac? The neck injuries make Billy a better version of that choice.
ReplyDeleteWhat class is it ?
ReplyDeleteBut as you've pointed out as we've gone month by month, he's losing it. X-Pac was an athletic little fucker, but he was much better before 1999.
ReplyDeleteThe growth and slow down was really noticable. He did get some crazy elevation on that dropkick to the stairs when Kane had them overhead.
ReplyDeleteI'm a black man in Mississippi. I'm 6'4", 280, and I'm the biggest dork in the world, but I know I'm a born suspect.
ReplyDeleteDid you or Marv coin that term?
ReplyDeleteMarv and Art I believe. I just started the Billy Gunn critical reassessment.
ReplyDeleteFOUND IT! A handy, dandy guide to bulls, cows, steers, ect. Useful, apparently, for understanding agricultural references made by Undead Morticians in the sport of Professional Wrestling!

Yeah, you really don't wanna sacrifice athleticism by bulking up if you can't wrestle your ass off.
ReplyDeleteHeroes don't wear jorts.
ReplyDeletethat ref sucks
ReplyDeleteThe sad part is I think he's STILL the best athlete on the roster even with the scary loss of mobility.
ReplyDelete"The numbers don't lie. I'm a Goofus, not Gallant."
ReplyDelete*tosses Highlights into the fish tank*
King Kane....eh, pass.
ReplyDeleteKing Show/ Show King....NOPE. Although "The World's Largest Monarch" has a nice ring to it. But...pass.
Was Shamrock a viable choice? Cannot remember. If nothing else, a Hunter repeat would have been historically interesting.
Shamrock had already won it the year before. So it leads the same repeat thing.
ReplyDeleteOnly other one that makes sense is Jarrett.
Not even a little bit.
ReplyDeleteCena holding the belt does zero for it, because as Owens has shown, beating CENA is more important than the title.
The US belt around Cena's waist isn't even a macguffin -- it's just some useless piece of clothing that someone will win when they finally BEAT CENA (which is the real goal).
Hell, Owens treating the NXT title as more important than it proves that in spades.
reASSessment
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It does.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I...I can't help myself, but I DO wonder what the fuck these gun-loving white folks would think if the Black Panthers of the 1960's came back into style. Obviously, it would be fuel on an already volatile fire, but at the same time....I wonder.
ReplyDeleteI would be shocked if UFC lets Rousey wrestle.
ReplyDelete... nor feathered boas--yet here we are.
ReplyDeleteCivil War, I would be on the Panthers side.
ReplyDeleteBilly makes the most sense right now, but he'd have been a much better choice if he'd been picking up steam leading DX against the Corporate Ministry.
ReplyDeleteThe Corporate Ministry fighting a war on multiple fronts, with Shamrock running through the Ministry goons on the way to Taker, DX and Kane vs. the Corporate b-team (HHH, Chyna, Bossman, and Test), and Austin vs. Rock in the main event, ties the whole card together from top to bottom.
That works when you're a heel. Not so much when you're supposed to be a face. Because a feud can never have a satisfying conclusion when the face almost always wins, and the heels (the people we're supposed to hate) are the underdogs.
ReplyDeleteHe can still jump his ass off, even as "The One" Billy Gunn, but he's not nearly as fast or sleek.
ReplyDeleteThere would be laws against concealed-carry and open-carry, just like the ones that popped up in CA in response to the Panthers.
ReplyDeleteAnd eventually Rock & Foley pairing up for Rock & Sock for a few months while Show slides into the main event against Austin so that Shamrock can be beaten definitively by Taker. Test still breaks of and feuds with Shane.
ReplyDeleteAll of the pieces are there and have obvious directions to go in. Russo just outsmarted himself.
I guess everyone knows now how good Taker/Shamrock is.
ReplyDeleteThey won't. Dana White won't let that happen. Not enough money.
ReplyDeleteFor two guys were around at the same time, Rock and Taker didn't cross paths too often. I think this is their only title match. Except the three way with Angle in 02 if that counts.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, it is not that plausible. Hogan has had a hip replacement, a knee replacement and surgery on the other knee. He is over 60. He is not wrestling. If Shawn was going to come back to wrestle Bryan, he would have done so by now.
ReplyDeleteYears ahead of its time.
ReplyDelete3-way was awesome.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you noticed, but you accidentally capitalised a few letters in the middle of that word.
ReplyDelete#helpfulguy
1999 hasn't appeared to be so much bad, as just insanely frustrating so far in.
ReplyDeleteI think John Oliver said it best, one person brings a bomb in his shoe on an airplane and we suddenly beef up security at an airport to the point where everyone has to take their shoes off, but a bunch of school shootings where little children are losing their lives and nothing gets done because SECOND AMENDMENT!
ReplyDeleteI'll ask again: have they made sure that they'll actually have Rock for a match? A cameo is one thing, but you can't wait until November to decide to book the guy and then panic if his schedule doesn't allow it. Hopefully it's all been sorted out, for WWE's sake anyhow, but if not...yikes.
ReplyDeleteThat gives you a top-to-bottom cohesive product all the way through Summerslam, then Rock, Foley, HHH, and Shamrock (after destroying the Ministry by beating Taker at Summerslam) can carry the top of the card while you reshuffle the card in the fall.
ReplyDeleteMost likely. It's fucking amazing that here we are, in 2015...and this sort of shit STILL hasn't gotten any better than it was in the 1960's. I guess, if we TRULY want gun control laws to get passed, having black people who own guns act like white people who own guns is the only way to get things done.
ReplyDeleteAnd THAT is depressing as fuck.
Journalism 320 - Research for journalism.
ReplyDeleteThey should have done Cena-Taker at 27.
ReplyDeleteThe rate of school shootings in the last 20 years is mind-boggling.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are at Kotr 99? Holy shit!
ReplyDeleteSNOOZE YOU LOSE!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's funny that Hogan could sell a beating pretty well. I never really thought about that.
ReplyDeleteEasily the most famous brothers in the Bible.
ReplyDeleteFunny part of the CA gun control thing: those laws were signed by Gov. Ronald Reagan.
ReplyDeletefor years
ReplyDeletedone cena
ReplyDeleteConversely, it did nothing for Hulk Hogan in the early 90s.
ReplyDeleteyou guys
ReplyDeleteIt's frustrating because what could've been is so much better than what was.
ReplyDeleteBut dude, Second Amendment rights is more important than a bunch of people getting shot to death at schools.
ReplyDeleteI think Shamrock was leaving at Summerslam anyways, so I'm cool with Taker winning. HHH HAS to beat Billy and Show beats Austin.
ReplyDeleteRock, Foley, HHH and Show take over through the second section of the year. Rock wins the title from Show on Raw. Loses it to Triple H at Unforgiven. Triple H beats Austin at No Mercy and Survivor Series continues as normal with Show winning as a face.
I'm curious, do you know of any way I can make a fortune working from home? If so do you have a link where I could access this information?
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you are an attractive female has encouraged me to consider whatever you have to say as legitimate.
I would say the bloom is off for Taker-Sting too, but I personally never understood why that was considered a dream match for so long anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought the four-corners match would be the worst, with the latter half turning into the usual Cena vs. Monster Heel formula. How wrong I was.
ReplyDeleteTaker in mid to late 1999 is the GOAT.
ReplyDeleteThere's a funny spot at the very beginning of that match where Rock and Taker are nose-to-nose and Angle's jumping up and down, screaming "YOU WILL PAY ATTENTION TO ME!" and they both knock him on his ass.
ReplyDeleteYeah I did Over the Edge late night last night so as not to offend.
ReplyDeleteIs there really anyone from the late 00s worth digging up?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Renee Dupree?
