ReplyDeleteFarva, can you explain what you mean? Philly plays San Diego and Chicago plays Minnesota. Are those... Um parlays? Are you betting on both teams to win?
ReplyDeleteFootball + gambling for me is like listening to a group of foreign dignitaries discussing physics equations in their native language.
ReplyDeleteSure. Philly is -7.5 vs SD. That means if I bet philly they neee to win by 7.5 or more for me to win (vegass job is to set lines that theoretically get 50/50 % of the money on each side since they get different types of cuts on each bet.)
ReplyDeleteSo say I "parlay" the eagles and the bears. If each team covers (wins by the alloted amount of points or more) I win about 2-1 on what I bet. If I team covers and the other doesnt I lose the entire bet. The more teams you pick on a parlay the higher your odds go because its harder to obviously puck 5 games as opposed to 2.
A "tease" is a bet done on multiple items. I teased the eagles and the packers. A two team tease means I get to move the line 6 points in either direction but have to still hit both bets. Since I get the 6 points to play with I get essentially 1-1 odds as opposed to anything else. For example, I teased philly down to -1.5 and GB down to -3. So to win this bet I need both of those teams to cover those lines. If one does and the other doesnt, you still lose.
This wasnt the most precise explanation but should give you some ideas.
