WWF European Rampage Tour review

Crappy WWF computer game, but hey, it's in Europe!

Winners don't let Jerry Sags wrestle singles matches.

  1. I made the mistake of buying this at the time. A truly woeful bit of software.

  3. The problem really is with the judging system devised by old men who still think boxing is the "sweet science" and that combat sports died out with Jack Johnson in the 50s.

That being said, I find it sad that WWE makes all the matches and controls all the outcomes, but UFC somehow stumbles into bigger money angles and matchups by force of sheer blind luck. You can literally roll dice and book more intriguing TV than WWE does.

  4. I agree with your last paragraph. It's such an indictment of WWES current creative system...If only we could get a Dana White vs UFC fighters authority program now.

  5. Anytime I see a great UFC ad on Sportsnet I think "Jesus, they do pro wrestling better then pro wrestling"

  6. We kind of had a Dana vs. Tito storyline a few years ago

  7. I don't have as huge a problem with the 10-point must system as much. People forget that the Pride system was JUST as corrupt, if not moreso, because of the delibarately vague criteria. There is a scientific way to judge fights, and there needs to be a better training system for judges.

Honestly, I wasn't up in arms about this one. It was a bad decision, but it wasn't as cut-and-dry as people made it out to be. GSP took the most damage, but fights aren't solely based on who hits the hardest. GSP outlanded Hendricks by a wide margin, showed good counter-punching and pushed the fight in the fifth round, while Hendricks chose to take his foot off the gas.
