Holy schneikes. They're really trying to make sure I never have any desire use my Xbone any time soon. All the original Crash and Spyro games for a buck each? YES PLEASE.
On a related note, I started playing the latest Ratchet game this weekend and then finished it in the same day, which was kind of disappointing for $30 but in a sense it was pretty satisfying to level my weapons all to the max within hours. I do love me some platforming, though. Next up on the backlog should be GOW: Ascension. I also picked up Ninja Gaiden Sigma for super duper cheap and will probably regret attempting it, but it seems like it's worth a go.
As a 360 guy (and only owning that) I am supremely jealous right now. HUGE Crash and Spyro fan.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I prefer the 360, their "classics" in the online store is pitiful compared to PlayStation's
Is Xbone slang for Xbox?
ReplyDeleteNope. Slang for "I want to want to have sex with your ex-wife"
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! All 3 crash bandicoots for 3 bucks????? Ummm yes please. Scott you are the man for informing me of this.
ReplyDeleteJoke?
ReplyDeleteOf.... course...
ReplyDeleteAm I being punked?
XBoxONE
ReplyDeleteI've already got the Crash games from PS+, but $1 for Tokyo Jungle had me running to my PS3 to get it.
ReplyDeleteId be a shut-in this weekend if I had easy access to Crash 2
ReplyDeleteAnyone ever play Gex back in the day? I skipped that one
ReplyDeleteAh. Not a gamer and never had an xbox. Thought it may have been like a handheld console or something
ReplyDeleteIs Braid worth checking out?
ReplyDeleteFun fact: I was the producer on Into the Nexus and every other Ratchet game (save Secret Agent Clank) since, well, ever.
ReplyDeleteConsidering it's probably my favorite series of games ever, I thank you for the awesome job over the years. Tools of Destruction and Crack In Time were one of the best one-two punches of gaming I've ever played and totally justified buying a PS3.
ReplyDeleteSeconded. I remember being in the middle of Crack in Time and thinking, this is a goddamn masterpiece
ReplyDeleteACiT was one the harder but most satisfying projects I was on, so thank you. Nexus kind of wrapped that chapter up as you saw. Although there is a mobile game if that is your thing (look up Before the Nexus)
ReplyDeleteBeen reading for a while and enjoy the work here, so kudos to you and the folks who write here as well.
Also, watch for the Ratchet movie (Bray Wyatt voice).
(Video feed cutoff)
I didn't get into it when I tried it, but I think I'm in the minority
ReplyDeleteAfter Up Your Arsenal, it was the toughest of the games to wrap as it took a lot to get everything right. So again, thank you.
ReplyDelete(UYA was harder thanks to the online mode. Which was hard both times we did it, in the original and the Collection, but ultimately still one of my favorite things about Ratchet as we had epic 2am Insom vs Sony matches while waiting for final builds).
Gex 1 was fun but predictable. Gex 2 has the distinction of being one Evan Wells first game.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I'll give it a look on iPad. Hope you continue to enjoy the blog.
ReplyDeleteBeen reading for years and likely will continue The snarky rants are always worth a read :)
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at Scott's ability to find time to play the games. He has a job AND a family. I only have the former (student though) and I struggle to find time to watch mah sports.
ReplyDeleteThanks for whatever you contributed; the first three PS2 games in particular are among gaming's finest platformers.
ReplyDeleteThe entire BttF game is 99 cents. Holy fucking shit. Also this will finally get my ass going on getting all the Spyro games.
ReplyDeleteWhat's to regret about attempting Ninja Gaiden? The difficulty? I didn't think it was that hard and it's one of the greatest action game of it's generation. Glad to see an 8 bit classic comeback with so much style and quality when so many others couldn't make that leap.
ReplyDeleteThere's difficult games that are tough but fair and games that are tough because they're cheap. Weak games fall into the second category, but Ninja Gaiden rocked because it was in the first. Every fight kept you on your toes and even when the bosses kept killing me over and over, I was still having fun with it. It succeeds the same way the old school Mega Man games are.
ReplyDeletePlus, Scott, you can always lower the difficulty =)
Absolutely, brilliant game. If you like your platformers to test your brain matter a little, buy it ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I own both systems now; as great as the PSN selection is, I like the more rarer stuff on XBLA like Guardian Heroes as well.
ReplyDeleteFear not, I can always divert more time away from the blog and pour it into video games instead!
ReplyDeleteYou can lower the difficulty ... at a price ...
ReplyDeleteI've been told I want Braid, yes?
