The Weekly Playlist - June Classics

Several months ago, I had made an attempt at a monthly post that featured the best PPV matches during a given month, where I would have you guys vote on your favorite match and then count them down, posting a video of the matches at the same time. It drew some interest, and you guys appeared to enjoy watching the clips. So I'm kinda sorta bringing that back. We're not voting on anything this time, but I am going to create a topic every week, and include links to matches from the Network. This week's theme is classic matches from the month of June.

There is no particular order to these matches. These are just a sample of some of my favorite matches that occurred at events like King of the Ring or The Great American Bash or from TV. I have included links to the match on the WWE Network. For you people without the Network, I have included a link for you as well, but the quality of the clip may vary. If you have a theme you want to suggest, please do so, and I will attempt to dig up what clips I can. To the playlist!

From Beach Blast '92, Sting vs. Cactus Jack in a Falls Count Anywhere Match:

From King of the Ring '93, Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect:

From Great American Bash '98, Chris Benoit vs. Booker T for the WCW Television title:

http://network.wwe.com/video/v31348145 - because it contains Mr. Benoit, a milestone is not available for this match, so please FF to about 8 minutes in.

From King of the Ring '94, The 1-2-3 Kid vs. Owen Hart:

From King of the Ring '97, Shawn Michaels vs. Steve Austin:

And, finally, from King of the Ring 2001, Shane McMahon vs. Kurt Angle in a Falls Count Anywhere Match:

  1. Wasn't Angle vs. Shawn II on the June 2005 PPV?

I have not seen that match. A slight on my part, as I'm sure it's a great match. The above includes matches I've seen and can actually vouch for.

  3. You need to watch Vengeance 2005 like right now. One of the best WWE shows ever.

  7. As if Stranger had anything else to do

  8. Who was the guy that said he found a loophole to playlists on the network? Did he ever deliver?

It wasn't a loophole. I just thought I found a way to link directly to a match within a show, and then create a list of links.

  10. Yeah, definitely do that. I watched the "Best of Raw" from June 2005 with the first Draft show of the year and I forgot how good the build-up was. It was a perfect excuse to watch Vengeance again.

  11. I would but you need to say why you think Brock Lesnar is a lazy fuck

  12. Orndorff was never able to come back. He's a lazy fuck like Brock Lesnar

  13. Who are we to doubt State Patrol?

  14. Change his name to Shane Malenko

  15. Rick Rude vs. Ricky Steamboat at Beach Blast 92 is also fantastic.

  16. They didn't use the name, I just called them that for simplicity sake. They were originally called the "Monster Maniacs" or something stupid shit like that in WCW and eventually dropped it when it didn't catch on.

  17. Although Tony did call them the Mega Powers when they reunited at Starrcade 94. Much like Jesse and Bobby kept calling The Boss -- the Boss Man.

  18. I always have to stay up late on Thursdays to adjust for my coming 3rd shift work week, and I always peruse the Network for something to watch. This is my watchlist tonight. Damn.

  19. Seriously? No love for LT/Bigelow at WM?

  20. I thought those vignettes were great.

  21. 1995-1997 Luger was all kinds of gold. This era especially I loved with Luger as a heel, Sting as a face, but still teaming. And not in a wacky two guys not getting along together way.

Paul as a NWO member is something I can't picture. I do however like the idea of the NWO being only former wwf guys.
