Brock Lesnar's Future Plans
It has been reported that Lesnar's WWE contract expires after WrestleMania 31. Lesnar has not signed an extension and at the moment Lesnar is leaning towards signing with UFC once his WWE contract ends.

Is Brock healthy enough to compete in UFC? I wonder if his abdominal issue is 100% healed, and he wouldn't be affected if his opponents target it?
ReplyDeleteUFC is probably willing to bank on it regardless.
ReplyDeleteReally if Jericho's coming back to put people over, this is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteOh it would be an incredible draw/buyrate, I just wonder if it's wise for Brock's health. I mean, in Rasslin', they can work around his injury. in UFC, some trained heavyweight fighters will be attacking it.
ReplyDeleteFuck, if Brock is only going to lose one more time in this run you HAVE to give it to Reigns. None of this Rock or Bryan bullshit, give it to the guy who would benefit the most from it.
ReplyDeleteTJ: Bleacher Report knocked this Kamala video out of the park. Too bad I couldn't watch the end of the video with all this damned dust flying around my house.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RpDxcBQ4MY
Good for Brock, good for Jericho.
ReplyDeleteBah. No classic Brock v Bryan match then:-(
ReplyDeleteMeltzer special: The main of the next TLC ppv might be a TLC match involving 2 guys currently in top storylines, or maybe 3 guys in top storylines.
ReplyDeleteI love this guy. :)
You didn't mention that biggest news of the day: The Rock N Roll Express finally made it into the Observer Hall of Fame on their last shot! It was like Robert Gibson dramatically diving for the tag to Ricky Morton after 15 years of getting beat on by Tully and Arn.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Sting and CM Punk were nowhere close to getting in, as both were under 20%. Brock was close, but if he goes back to UFC then that would probably kill his chances.
So Robert Gibson was playing Ricky Morton?
ReplyDeleteThis weeks Obsever speculated on the new Super Bellator getting into a bidding war for him, and him possibly fighting guys like Kimbo rather than the top level UFC guys.
ReplyDeleteWow, did that guy ever fall off the face of the earth!
ReplyDeleteI'd be really curious to see a Brock UFC return. Guy's drawing power took a serious hit when people realized he was more of a Tim Sylvia type (benefited from weak division) than any type of real monster. I can't see him beating any Top-5 heavyweights, and the novelty factor will dry up quick.
ReplyDeleteI give it 3 fights (with a 1-2 or 0-3 record) before he's drawing 300k per fight. Which Dana would probably take in a heartbeat unless he's paying him stupid money.
I can understand Meltzer's whole argument about Sting being unworthy, though I don't agree with ti.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Punk would be kept out. He's wrestled all over.
In the end though, it's a Hall of Fame for a newsletter. Who really gives a shit?
"Reverse Lesnar."
ReplyDeleteSounds like a porn thing. Sex involving multiple suplexes.
He can spent 2 years or so doing those 3 UFC fights and then go right back to WWE for another run.
ReplyDeleteIt'll keep him fresh in both companies. Genius!
ReplyDeleteIf Lesnar leaves then having him break the streak was a colossal waste
ReplyDeleteYep, He could come back to WWE on and off for the next 10 years, and still be a badass. If he feels he has one more UFC run in him, I wish him the best.
ReplyDeleteMeh, if they did it the year before it would've been even more of a waste (Punk). You gotta go back to 24 to find a guy who would've really done something with it.
ReplyDeleteBreaking the Streak in general was just a bad, exploitative idea to begin with. I'm not mad Brock was the one that did it, but it didn't need to be done. And it's not like it didn't go on to be part of an overall concept that "Brock is unstoppable" for the entire rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteHe's not kept out by Meltzer, he just didn't get the votes.
ReplyDeleteI meant "I don't understand why Punk would not be voted in"
ReplyDeleteI understand Punk a whole lot more than Sting. The argument to keep him out is still completely retarded IMHO.
ReplyDeleteTo me personally, it provided me with the biggest "OMG" markout moment of my wrestling life, so I am glad it happened. If I was a stock holder or bookkeeper for WWE, then maybe i'd be upset, but nope. I'm a fan, I paid for WM, and it gave me several unforgettable moments, including that one.
ReplyDeleteI think it would have been worth it had it made the whole year about Lesnar battling foes left and right on his march up to the title and then back down. But was it worth it for 3 PPV's against John Cena with declining interest on each one? Nah.
ReplyDeleteI'd vote for Punk over Sting.
ReplyDeleteYeah, as much as I didn't think it should happen, the moment itself was pretty amazing. Such a raw, natural reaction from a huge crowd is hard to come by.
ReplyDeleteAye, it's probably worth it for the moment alone. Unforgettable, and some great memes out of that one guy's face.
ReplyDeleteAh okay, fair enough.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, we got some great memes out of Demon Girl's face...did that make it worth it?
ReplyDeleteReturning to UFC for a run will bolster his reputation as a monster even if he has a so-so record. He's only 37, and considering his light schedule in WWE (and potentially light schedule in UFC), Brock could work for WWE well into his 40s... basically as the new Undertaker.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd get that feeling as an adult wrestling fan. I haven't felt like that (total, complete shock) since I was like 7.
ReplyDeleteYeah. it was only Miz.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Undertaker losing affected WWE's stock one bit.
ReplyDeleteRegular Lesnaring is to finally get a chance with a girl after 10 years, then after 20 mins of grueling foreplay she shuts you down and leaves.
ReplyDeleteI remember, the first thing I thought of when the ref counted 3 and the bell rang, was "Wait, just making sure, this *IS* Wrestlemania, right??"
ReplyDeleteIt has been reported repeatedly that Brock Lesnar is leaning towards going back to the UFC. I'm sure it's entirely coincidental that these reports always surface when it's time to renegotiate his WWE deal.
ReplyDeleteOh I bolted upright on the couch, and did the eyes-wide-slow-head-turn to my friend next to me like "Did...did that just...?" It was pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, seriously. Wrestling storylines have zilch effect on WWE's stock.
ReplyDeleteExcept maybe that one time they tried to convince everyone that Vince McMahon was actually dead.
I think they outright said that.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty cool, a compilation of live reactions to the streak ending. Some are meh, some are incredible. Worth a look.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heajzl0f2do
Or you have this one amazing date in the summer, and you think everything's gonna be awesome from now on, but then after a disappointing second date with a weird ending she disappears and you don't hear from her for 3 months. I don't know what happens next.
ReplyDeleteI hope Brock shows up at UFC 200 and tosses the WWE Title into the trash.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I'd vote for Sting, but I would vote for Punk over Sting if I could only select one for a wrestling Hall of Fame.
ReplyDeleteLOLCENAWINS.
ReplyDeleteDammit John, not my personal life!
Having the streak end to Lesnar was an awful idea anyways. They had a golden ticket to make a younger wrestler into a megastar instantly, instead they wasted it on a near 40 year old part-timer. Also, Undertaker's streak was a big draw for PPV buyers as well. With that gone, there's no bonus attraction match that was in addition to the big title match or main event.
ReplyDeleteBrock was not a Tim Sylvia type. The guy was fighting at like 60% health including nearly dying from diverticulitis. I'd very very curious to see what a 100% health Lesnar can do. It's going to be scary.
ReplyDeleteI think he said in an interview...with Batista maybe? that he liked doing the house shows because the promos aren't nearly as scripted and nobody cares who wins or loses so the politics are largely thrown out the window.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be a sweet gig anyway. Roll into a city on Tuesday, check into a hotel, hit the sauna, maybe do some site seeing. House show is on Wednesday. Road trip with some of the boys to the Thursday show. Back to the hotel afterwards, and fly back home for a three day weekend.
Whoever beats Brock will get the transition rub (sounds like a porn type thing too). So it's fine as long as an up and comer like Reigns beats Brock at WM.
ReplyDeleteWhat if it ends up being Cena at the Rumble and Reigns beats Lesnar in a non-title match at Mania?
ReplyDeleteI'm just worried about the potential cold reaction to that match if it goes on last.
ReplyDeleteIf Bryan had remained healthy and (presumably) beaten Brock, it would have absolutely made Bryan for the rest of his career. Just a shame how things turned out, but hopefully someone who isn't Cena gets to beat Brock before he goes
ReplyDeleteRusso's on Dixie's under the table payroll. Not Vince's.
ReplyDeleteI think Bryan is already made regardless (Clean win over Cena at Summerslam, clean wins over HHH, and Batista/Orton to win the title at WM). Whenever he comes back, he'll be a made guy.
ReplyDeleteI follow him on Instagram and he seems to really enjoy just traveling and seeing fans so I'm sure a house show only run will be right up his alley since he'll basically be allowed to do whatever he wants.
ReplyDeleteYeah true that. Would've loved to see Bryan/Brock though
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if the pop when Bryan finally comes back dwarfs the "Triple H returns at MSG pop".
ReplyDeleteBryan has the biggest reason to face Lesnar. He was stripped of his title and now there's a guy going months without defending the same title and he's getting away with it.
ReplyDeleteIf Brock returns to the UFC I will start watching them again. Since about 2012ish I have not really paid any interest in them.
ReplyDeleteI really think he should job to Bryan and do a massive David vs Goliath story.
If Bryan is medically cleared, sure. BUT...
ReplyDeleteI think you're doing it wrong.
ReplyDeleteHe will be soon.
ReplyDeleteNo way. He said a couple weeks ago that he still has no strength in one of his arms.
ReplyDeleteI am guessing around Wrestlemania time.
ReplyDeleteSooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon...............
Yeah I'll be impressed if they actually turn that into a storyline, but it's probably just a case of WWE making up the rules as they go along
ReplyDeleteI'm really holding out hope this is one giant ruse to downplay Bryan coming back to make it more of a shock moment.
ReplyDeleteHoping so, but his body was jacked up before entering the WWE, so I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteHell, since WWE is adamant about involving the Bellas in storylines have Brie do Adrian's Rocky IV part.
ReplyDeleteBrie: You can't go with what you are you've read the papers, it's suicide! You've seen him you know how strong he is! YOU CAN'T WIN!
Bryan: No maybe I can't win. Maybe the only thing I can do is just take everything he's got. But to beat me he's gonna have to kill me, and to kill me he's gotta have the guts to
stand in front of me, and to do that he's gotta be willin' to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that. I don't know. I don't know.
I think that was the quickest I've ever picked my five choices. Enter Sandman was a gimme, I love me some Good Vibrations, I never vote against Bon Jovi, Boys II Men are awesome and I have a weird affinity for Crash Test Dummies.
ReplyDeleteWell, but you know, like... in reverse. :/
ReplyDeleteGiving the win over Brock to Bryan would cement his elevation to top-tier.
ReplyDeleteRollins and Orton settling their business in a match with John Cena sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteI hope Heyman comes out and says Triple H was just scared to take the title away from Brock in fear that he'll get his arm broken again or worse.
ReplyDeletePlus, it's a fresh way to revamp Orton and Cena.
ReplyDeleteGiven that most people expect Punk to be back to a ring sometime within the next few years, I understand holding off to see what he does. And I'm wondering what happens if Sting finally wrestles in a WWE ring this year, does that finally give him enough credibility?
ReplyDeleteLess than 20 percent voted for Sting? That's fucking ridiculous.
Company is losing money, what you should do?
ReplyDeleteMore John Cena, just make this the John Cena Show.
Whoever beats Brock will be the 1 that beat the 1 who was the 1 in 21-1. That's going to get convoluted... Heyman could sell it, though.
ReplyDeleteYeah but they're still not THE ONE, BILLY GUNN!
ReplyDeleteI've been laughing at this clip for the past half hour. Scroll to the 1:00 mark to get to the point.
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/Tf8Qmz2irnY
Then he can travel to Buffalo to train in 23 feet of snow.
ReplyDeleteI imagine it will be AA to Orton, Rollins steals the win.
ReplyDeleteWell, as much as I like Flight of the Valkyries... I would be all for changing Bryan's music to "There's No Easy Way Out" or "Heart's on Fire"
ReplyDeleteTHAT'S IT! Billy Gunn must be the ONE, the ONE to beat the 1 who was the 1 in 21-1.
ReplyDeleteThat old guy whoops that younger dude. Saw that clip a few weeks back and he just kills him.
ReplyDeleteAnd McMahons. Can't forget more McMahons.
ReplyDeleteDid you hear his body hit the ground when he dropped him?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell if that was his body or his pride.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand this apparently philosophy that killing John Cena's credibility would 100% automatically lead to a new era of multi billions of dollars. Maybe they'd just lose a bunch of their target audience (the kids), and the new guy just won't be THAT over? It's a big risk.
ReplyDeleteThose were my choices too. I wouldn't be surprised if Enter Sandman ends up being the only rock song to make it to the finals
ReplyDelete"Are You That Somebody?" requires your votes. That shit was the mad notes!
ReplyDeleteFor that to happen, Brock would need to show some ass, man.
ReplyDeleteWith all the Aaliyah drama going on this could possible win i a landslide.
ReplyDeleteIf Team Cena loses, I'm guessing we get Triple H vs. one of the following at Mania to blow off the Authority once and for all: Rock, Vince or Bryan.
ReplyDeleteTaking a break from my SurSer reverse rewatch to listen to PTBN's Survivor Series ranking show.
ReplyDeleteIf they'd given that to a younger wrestler it would have ruined him.
ReplyDeleteThat was Morgan Freeman in Million Dollar Baby all over again.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone do a joke about a "reverse Lesnar" being some sort of unspeakable sex act?
ReplyDelete*checks*
Well, fuck.
Will HHH be his own Avatar?
ReplyDeleteHe's Steph's Avatar at this point.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Plus, what would happen then? He'd just wrestle in 6 man tags on every Raw and Smackdown, while going undefeated for the rest of his career? It's really not that easy, Brock being a part timer actually worked in this case.
ReplyDeleteToday's pool has some real contenders in there.
ReplyDeleteI want to think that too, but I doubt that's the case. Would be easy to pull off too. Assuming they could plan ahead with a little bit of cohesion, that could be great in many ways.
ReplyDeleteNo one is saying Cena should become a jobber...we just want to see his stale character change and new talent being focused on to change the stagnation of the product.
ReplyDeleteWould he make more $$ there though? I have no clue what they pay, but at this stage of his career would it be worth it?
ReplyDeleteI think the tease of Triple H-Rock from a few weeks ago was a hint of what will be at 31.
ReplyDeleteI have had 0 interest in UFC since Brock and Chael left. If Brock fights again, I'm buying the show. And I have a feeling tons of other casual fans will do so also.
ReplyDeleteOf course. Triple H will not miss a WrestleMania payday. Missing the Mania 23 payday still haunts his bank account to this day.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it can't happen though. Vince would never let the WWE title be thrown away like that.
ReplyDeleteUnless there's somebody in WWE that can take Brock in a real fight.
Maybe Brock can show up with Cena's corpse and throw that into the trash.
I don't know, a lot of them seem to be enraged that he's even in semi main events, and just seem to want him to totally go away. Even when he jobs clean and someone else main events for a few months, they lose their minds if he gets another main event spot 3 months later. I really do think they want him to leave or be a total jobber. That would definitely not be BEST FOR BUSINESS. They can have new stars while Cena is still credible.
ReplyDeleteWhy would Jericho's deal be desirable for either Chris or the WWE? If you're going to be wrestling wouldn't you rather it be on TV/PPV? And if you're WWE why would you want to pay a name guy JUST to do house shows? It's not like Jericho would be the reason anyone would buy a ticket if they weren't going to otherwise. If you want a strictly house show guy, why not just have a cheap NXT guy fill that role?
ReplyDeleteReally? What about that time Cena overcame a bunch of odds to win that match?
ReplyDeleteHe was probably making a million a fight, easy. Maybe more.
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised that happened on Smackdown and now RAW.
ReplyDeleteIt was kind of crazy that during his WM 22 match against Cena, Jim Ross pointed out that he's 1 year away from tying Bret's "most consecutive Wrestlemanias" streak. Then, quad tear, no WM 23. OOPS!!
ReplyDelete90s were like rock's long dark night. It annoys me that Enter Sandman is the "rock" song that made it, though I can't think of a better one right off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteIt would be an actual incentive to go see a house show, which they haven't had in like 15 years now. Since everything on free TV is bigger and better. So who knows, it might actually sell a few tickets here and there, the only way to see him is at the house show.
ReplyDeleteBret doesn't still have that record, right?
ReplyDeleteTaker hasn't missed a Mania from 17 to 30, so I'd think that would be the record at this point, right?
No wonder why they continued to treat Ross like shit. He jinxed Triple H!
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that when Cena is not in the main event, that's when they should experiment more to freshen him up or put younger talent over so they can be main eventer, too (Cena is perpetually over...losses will not hurt him). But they don't and when he (or Orton) get cycled back in the main event, it's basically the same old song and dance.
ReplyDeleteOh right, I think Taker has it now, it was around 12-13 years. POOR BRET!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great decade for alternative rock, but every metal band, from Guns n Roses to Megadeth to Maiden, Queensryche, every single one seemed to go through a massive midlife crisis period during the 90s.
ReplyDeleteYes. That way he gets two Wrestlemania paydays.
ReplyDeleteOk, as long as we are agreed that Cena should not be the new Brooklyn Brawler, we are all good. :)
ReplyDeleteCena could lose every match from now to his retirement and he'd never be Steve Lombardi.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with VJ (I have to check my temperature now). There are only a handful of guys where it would seem credible that could break the streak. Brock, Rock, Cena.....it wouldn't help a guy like Bryan or Ziggler. Those guys get help by beating the current guys on the roster.
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDelete"And another thing, I was screwed out of the consecutive WrestleMania streak!"
Yeah, Bret was Mania 2 through Mania 13, so Taker has taken the crown by now. Even considering his schedule, it's pretty amazing how Taker has only missed 2 Manias (10 and 16) in 23 years.
Seeing Brock in the UFC again seems like a no brainer at this point, he'll get destroyed by Cain or Junior but he's more than a match for literally everyone else in the HW division. His WWE deal probably pays him a comparable salary but even though he's champ does anyone feel like that really satisfies him the same way as being UFC champ did?
ReplyDeleteChris Jericho meanwhile becomes just another warm body the more his career drags on, sad to see.
While I don't think he should go away I don't think he should be on TV as much. People in his spot are bulletproof and should be moved a little further down the card to work with up and coming wrestlers
ReplyDeleteThere is zero chance Lesnar goes back to the UFC.
ReplyDeleteEven if he gets destroyed... the buyrate and payday will be worth it.
ReplyDeletePaul Heyman! Thanks for joining us.
ReplyDeleteThere should be an asterisk because it's not like he wrestled the whole year and then Mania. He came back just for Mania!
ReplyDeleteEven in the 90s and early 2000s, Taker would take a lot of hiatuses.
What would the conventional way of doing a Lesnar look like?
ReplyDeleteWell he did work with Wyatt, but... nevermind. :D
ReplyDeleteMY CLIENT
ReplyDeleteAbout 800k disclosed, not sure if he got PPV points or any extras.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, my point wasn't that he'd make more in the UFC, it's that he uses the threat of going to the UFC to get more money from WWE, and good for him for doing it.
The last thing in the world he needs is to go back to fighting. Overeem and Cain both exposed his standup game as not being good enough. He didn't even look competitive against Overeem, and that's pretty sad given all of Overeem's losses since.
Fighting is a young man's game, and Brock is 37. Granted, careers last a bit longer at heavyweight where there just aren't as many athletes that big, but Brock was in his prime last time he fought, and is only older, slower, and rustier now.
Yeah, the fed tried years ago when Marty Jannetty was around. "You can see the Rockers reunion tour at a house show near you!"
ReplyDeleteGOD forbid the WWE Universe be deprived of his Wrestlemainia training montages.
ReplyDeletewell in his defense, he kept getting buried alive and burned and blown up. Give the guy a break!
ReplyDeleteI think Brock is leveraging for more money. No way he goes back to ufc (though I'm sure they'd be interested).
ReplyDeleteWell, Dead Men shouldn't be in the ring to begin with!
ReplyDeleteHe was UFC's biggest draw, like Scott said, Brock was the outsider becoming the champion of MMA.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Cena jobbing to the little kids sings should never be mentioned again.
ReplyDeleteI've pointed out numerous times around these parts that I would love to see WWE using some of the in-shape legends to do house show matches, especially in their hometowns. I mean, an indie show will have a former star show up to the boost the house, so why should WWE try it?
ReplyDeleteShit, I would totally buy a ticket to a house show if Vader or Sid squashed somebody and then signed autographs in the concourse.
EAT
ReplyDeleteSLEEP
BREAK A HYMEN
REPEAT
Something like what he did to Frank Mir the second time he fought him.
ReplyDeleteFor the folks who like a little violence in their love-making.
You know, they should have Cena get eliminated early in the SS match, then come back when it's down to Rollins v. Ryback, and turn on Ryback and join the Authority. Have him return the beating to Lesnar at either TLC or RR and set up a WM match for the title with Cena as the heel.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know, it ain't happening.
Yeah but he's likely to be destroyed which is what Jobber was probably trying to say.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain he's made as much if not more off his WWE deal than he has or would off a 3-fight UFC deal. It's be worth it to the UFC, but would it be worth potentially destroying his intestines again?
ReplyDeleteTraining for a UFC fight is nothing like staying in shape for a pro wrestling match.
This makes me respect Jericho even more and shows he really loves THIS BUSINESS. He's clearly not in it for the titles or exposure.
ReplyDeleteI did like most of the feud to be honest, Cena didn't break, but he was absolutely freaked out and shaken at times. I would have liked for Wyatt to get the final win though.
ReplyDeleteThat is if WWE is willing to give him another ridiculous deal. Considering they botched a lot of his run, he isn't worth what he was worth in 2012.
ReplyDeletehttp://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--c6M2IiZo--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/17j9qqitkp0mkjpg.jpg
ReplyDeleteYep, he really does seem to do it as a hobby. Good attitude to have.
ReplyDeleteRomantic!
ReplyDeleteWhat are your thoughts on Montreal, and how the invasion was booked? And if you had time, if you could create a Mount Rushmore of wrestlers...
ReplyDeleteSting once again kept out of the WON HOF, although RNRX made it in.
ReplyDeleteThe guy lives an unbelievably Spartan lifestyle on a farm. He needs to fill his days with something, but that something doesn't have to be physical combat, scripted or legitimate and he certainly doesn't need the money.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it sad? He almost certainly doesn't have to do it financially, but keeps doing it because he enjoys it. I think that's very much the opposite of sad.
ReplyDeleteRemember how he was slimming down to counter Daniel Bryan's speed and practicing his boxing skills? Why would he practice his boxing? Punching is all he does!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Finkel? He's been on-camera at every Mania, but in the last few years has ONLY been on Mania and only to introduce the Hall of Famers.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to give Howard Finkel, the voice of champions, an asterisk next to his "Announced at every WrestleMania" streak? How could you!
He's fat!
ReplyDeleteI can see Marky Mark going far, even though "Wild Side" was the superior tune from that album.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I'd spend a lot of time banging Sable too.
ReplyDeleteI only got access to NWA/WCW wrestling around 1991. And even then, I knew all about Sting, and I put him on the same pedestal as Hogan and Warrior. Other than Flair, he's probably the most known wrestler in the NWA/WCW in the 80's and 90's. Just for that, I think he deserves it.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't thr same after his diverticulitis. And really, who would be.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. He was WCW's Hogan.
ReplyDeleteDid you actually read the article or are you basing your opinion of his reporting on a short blurb Bayless wrote?
ReplyDeleteI can see them using Jericho on the house show circuit to help the NXT guys get over and work in front of a bigger crowd than Full Sail, and I think he would have no problem with that. He gets to wrestle, collect a cheque, and work to improve young talent.
ReplyDeleteWWE created a lot of the current issues themselves. Bryan getting injured and Punk leaving might have been bad luck, but no developing anybody else since forever (maybe since Lashley) is definitely on WWE.
ReplyDeleteFans are definitely not always right, but it shouldn't hurt to listen to them to elevate somebody before Bryan. Ryback was getting a reaction, but WWE kind of screwed him by having him face Punk repeatedly before getting squashed by the Shield.
Ziggler has been getting a reaction for years now, but only now is he seems like he's getting a real push. Before, he would get some good wins, but then unable to win the big one (the ADR one was the exception, and then went out with injury).
Wyatts were drawing a reaction, and then it seems like all of a sudden Bray and Cena wrestle, and then Bray isn't so hot anymore. They are broken up and the 2 minions are randomly inserted into a main event feud.
Cesaro was starting to get over with the giant swing, so instead they team him up with a heel Paul Heyman to squash that.
Orton get lucky and the internet explodes for a few moments with the RKO stuff. So Orton goes on hiatus to film a movie (or something like that).
Shield were hot, so they break them up. Rollins has done okay, Reigns was floundering a bit, and Ambrose is hot. WWE kind of books themselves into a corner by not having a conclusion for Rollins and Ambrose (both need to be protected), and now moves Ambrose into a program with the floundering Brat Wyatt.
Rusev is booked fairly well. The origin is a minor mess, but they've gotten pass that. He looks strong without looking like a chump when he has to show ass
Paige is okay. Divas are mostly a mess that nobody really knows or cares what's going on. The friendmies thing was cute for a month. Paige isn't doing herself any favors by seeming nervous and not having a great deal of charisma.
Right. Exactly what we bitch about Triple H and Cena not doing, and Jericho is doing it... and we still bitch about it.
ReplyDelete... it's Vince. That question shouldn't need to be asked.
ReplyDeleteAnd besides, for once the WWE got out ahead of something before returns truly diminished- and in the process basically set their Summerslam and WM31 main events- rather than being late to the party on something. The first PPV on the Network, one of the biggest Wrestlemanias in years, and they gave us an unbelievably shocking, unforgettable moment.
ReplyDeleteIf something can shock the hell out of me when it happens, then make perfect sense to me when I walk it back...well, that's pretty fucking great, I think.
super-fans care A LOT more about the legacy of pro athletes than the athletes themselves do. (in about any sports/sportz entertainment)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to see him work with MMA fighters to work on knee strikes. HHH definitely needs more knee strikes.
ReplyDeleteIt's not time to turn Cena. The time to turn Cena is when Bryan gets back and things are going good with him. Or Punk if he comes back.
ReplyDeleteCena's turn needs to be saved up and carefully done. It should be done BatB 96 style, when Bryan/top face is getting beat up, Cena comes in for the save, but not really, and cuts the Hogan promo.
I think Marky, Sandman and Motown Philly are contenders to go deep from this pool for sure.
ReplyDeleteI can get most of their decisions, or at least understand the logic behind it, but saying wasn't any kind of draw at all when he was the top face (depending on where flair was for sides of thr aisle) is crazy. Did they do gangbusters? No. But they ran multiple national TV shows every week and ppvs every month, and the crow this is huge too.
ReplyDeleteYep, I love how there were complaints about a "horrible build", as in "they didn't hint that it was gonna happen, Taker was too dominant in the build up". That is precisely what made it so awesome, we didn't suspect it for one moment.
ReplyDeleteThe only guy I see "bitching" about Jericho's new role is Mr. "Random High Fives Should Be Treated Like Successful Murder Attempts"
ReplyDeleteCena's girl turned. She should be in his ear every day trying to convince him to join the Authority.
ReplyDeleteLike Chris and Nancy.
ReplyDeleteWho are you to doubt Bayless?
ReplyDeleteGood to see Cena get a foot locker commercial. I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI guess we imagined all those "We want Sting!" chants for years. Must've been a screwy sound system.
ReplyDeleteSounds personal, tbqh
Dude, Cena ain't whipped.
ReplyDeleteI saw the Pacquiao one which was funny
ReplyDeleteNo, that didn't help, but his standup technique just isn't developed enough in any case. Truth be told, I thought Shane Carwin got robbed in their fight; I've seen title fights stopped for much less than what Lesnar took before Carwin punched himself exhausted.
ReplyDeleteTJ: Watching a 1992 W*ing compilation tape, so awesome
ReplyDeleteA smile to my face:

Glad RnR FINALLY made a HOF, Stings exclusion still baffles me, but whatever.
ReplyDelete1. Brock is getting up there age wise for UFC isn't he? I don't follow it, but I would think its a younger man's sport.
ReplyDelete2. Malibu Stacy has a new hat!
3. That would be awesome. House shows used to be fun when wrestlers could cut lose and do whatever they feel like. House show in MN many years ago, Kurt Angle said he was freezing his Olympic testicls off. Austin convinced HHH to have a beer with him, which of course, ended up with HHH getting stunnered multiple times.
I don't know if your comment was ironic or not...
ReplyDeleteDeath match stuff, isn't?
ReplyDeleteBlount signed with the pats. Lol I love that! After all those steelers fans on ESPN were saying he was dome forever in the league for walking he actually ends up on a better team!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'd forgotten all about that. Holy lord, that was one of the dumbest fucking things ever.
ReplyDeleteYea. Always been a FMW fan more myself, but W*ing was fun. Matsunaga was sooo over
ReplyDeletePlease explain -- I missed that.
